Less than 24 hours after having my oil changed at Honest-1, Ladson. SC, my car had lost almost all the 6.9 quarts of oil that it requires to run properly. When I opened the hood, I discovered a gasket sitting on top of my engine compartment. Afraid to drive it, my BMW was towed back to Honest-1, where they proceeded to blame the oil leakage on an unrelated issue and even offered to fix it for an additional $800. Suspecting this franchise location of being unethical and incompetent, I had my car towed to another service facility for a second opinion. Honest-1 neglected to put an o-ring and filter in my car. Unfortunately this Honest-1 location lacks the integrity to admit to their carelessness and has never reached out to me regarding any offer to repair damages. This franchise is backed by a national warranty that states I must return my vehicle to that location for warranty repair work. No thank you.UPDATE: HONEST-1 AUTO CARE eventually agreed to reimburse me for the initial oil change and the cost to clean the engine of any residual oil in the engine compartment. My car has been running fine since this unfortunate accident. I would like to say Thank you to all parties involved in making this possible.

A lot of auto shops take advantage of women who dont know anything about cars, but they were not pushy at all and very respectful & super nice! I dont live int he area, but I have used Honest 1 Auto Care twice for pre-purchase checks on used vehicles I was helping my kids purchase. They were thorough and honest about both vehicles giving us confidence in one purchase and steering us away from a potentially disastrous second purchase. On both occasions they were able to fit us into a busy schedule on short notice. I would highly recommend them!
The first time I came, everything was ok. They told me what was wrong with my truck and I made an appointment to bring it back to get fixed. When I brought it, I asked would it get done today. He said oh it will only take a few hours. That was a Monday morning. All day went by and I did not hear anything. Then Tuesday came, and I still did not hear anything. I finally called and was told oh the technician couldnt see it today. Now I had an appointment since Monday. It is Tuesday and still it has not been looked at. Wednesday came and I still didnt hear anything. Called back and my truck still hasnt been looked up. Finally I just came back and picked up my truck nothing was fixed on it and it sat there for 3days. Then the front desk had the nerve to say call us in Monday and you can make another appointment. Are you freaking kidding me. It wouldnt have been so bad if I could have just gotten a phone call to tell me what was going on, but I got nothing. I will not be using there services again
Im a first time customer and I just stopped in to have my oil changed and air filter replaced. The prices, service and turn around time were all very good. As part of the service they provide, they also provided me with a list of recommended repairs with pricing. Theres two reason why any reputable service provider gives you a list of recommended repairs. First; because its what make a good service provided a good service providers. By doing this they are giving the customer the information they need to make informed decisions about their vehicle maintenance. Second; they give you a list of needed repairs so they can earn more of your business which increase their sales/revenue. But heres where what they did with me was so different from so many of the other so called service providers out there. They only wrote up what was really needed, they didnt try to push or pressure me into getting it all done now, they took the time to explain what was most important and why and they gave me options on how to save money. You cant ask for more then that. They checked all the right boxes with me and for that reason they have earned more of my business. With most people 80+% of all the money they spend on their vehicle is for basic maintenance and repairs. This is place that has good service, clean operation, fair prices, integrity and good people. I also want to mention that the technician Tom was polite, the Service Advisor Angie was extremely helpful and the Shop Foreman Barney was very informative. Thank You!!!
A completely dishonest company..I went in for an oil change at the beginning of October. Everything went great, very friendly up front and was done in timely manner. However, less than a week later all my oil had leaked out of my vehicle. I called Honest-1 they came picked up my vehicle to look at it. My husband had to go up to shop to get any kind of communication through out the whole ordeal. He spoke with the lead tech who assured him if there was something wrong it would be corrected. Sometime later we had to call to get an update. We spoke with Sherry, the owner, who indicted there could be an issue with the Oil Filter Housing. We had to pay for them to take the intake off for them to tell us the housing was broken. Sherry offered to fix the housing for a price of $900. Also, while taking the intake off they were to replace the gaskets, which we found out by the mechanic who replaced the housing, they did not do. Sherry charged us for services that were not completed. She also caused us to spend more money on something her shop broke. I understand that mistakes happen, but let’s be honest and fix those mistakes. My vehicle has never had an oil leak, nor did Honest-1 indicate when they changed the oil that there was a leak. I was only suggested to have my transmission flushed at the time of the oil change. The mechanic who fixed our vehicle said the oil filter was over tightened cause the housing to break, in turn causing all the oil to leak out of my vehicle. On top of Honest-1 breaking my vehicle, my license plate was stolen while my vehicle was in their care. Sherry refused to come up to her shop to pull video for the police officer filing the report. She has been the most unreasonable person I have ever dealt with in the service industry. She clearly does not take pride in her business. Ironically, the reason I came to the shop is a friend referred me, a friend who had a personal conversation with Sherry. Sherry’s reasoning for opening a shop was so that women could come in and feel safe and confident that they are not being taken advantage of...so I guess charging people and not completing services or breaking a part and not being honest and fixing it doesn’t follow under those guidelines. I highly recommend staying away.
Took my car in on a Tuesday to have the brakes looked at because they were real soft. Got a call several hours later saying I needed new pads and rotors on the front and the same on the rear. They also said I needed 2 new struts in the front and front end alignment for an additionalcharge. I told them to go ahead and work on the brakes and Ill deal with the struts later. They called me a Lyft and took me home. I didnt hear any thing Tuesday until I called them around 4pm and they said they needed the brake fluid to put back into the system. I went up there after work and the driver of the parts house just showed up around 4:30 pm with the brake fluid. They told me that since it was so late in the day, theyll have to bleed the system tomorrow (Wednesday). Wednesday comes and I called them around 11:30 and they said they had to do a gravitational bleed of the brakes and once that was done, to do a mechanical bleed. I said ok and let it go until I got a call later saying they bled the brakes but noticed Ineeded a new master cylinder since it was leaking. i told them ok and go ahead and put a new one on. Didnt hear anything so I figured Id go up there Wednesday afternoon and on my way, they called me and told me that they road tested the car and noticed the brake pedal was tighter, butnot stiff enough of where it should be. He recommended to go and replace the master cylinder with another one and bleed the brakes again. I told him ok and I hope this works now.I get a call Thursday morning telling me everything isgood and ready to go.I went up there to pick it up and the owner wasnt there I went ahead and paid and left, but still wasnt happy with the whole experience so I called Saturday to see if the owner was there and they told me she was so I went back up there and talked to her about the situation. She offered totake $150 off the bill and give me a couple of free oil changes. I shook her hand and said that was fine with me.Overall, I am satisfied with the service I received, butthe next time I need any brake work done, they may not bethe first repair shop Ill call.
Had a oil change done on my CR-V had no oil leaks to after oil change was done leak a quart out overnight in the driveway the day I got it back that was a Saturday and they are closed on Sunday so that Monday when back to them to have the problem fix that they cause the guy at the counter told me that oil pan has a crack at the drain plug and it $1000 to fix I told him it dont have this problem to after the oil change so what happened. So they told me to bring the it back that Thursday and they will look at it again than they call me told me they will fix it for $800 so me and the guy went back and forth and then tell my he fix it for $635. The problem that they cause they still tired to make as much profit as they can I told the guy on the phone that I will pay for parts things do happen but not labor I priced all the parts at local parts store $180 for everything that was listed. They was changing my oil for the last past year and that how they treats their returning customer. They know they cause the problem and want me to pay for their mistakes.
After two new compressors and multiple appointments my ac still blows out hot air. I made an appointment to have them look into it & had to call THEM 20 minutes before they closed for an update. Her response “sorry we were busy and didn’t get to it.” That’s understandable, but having to call THEM for updates is not. Most people work full time and need their car, I would have appreciated a call asking if I needed to come get my car an hour or so prior to them closing. Will not be returning.
It began with an 11am appt for service they were already aware of because I told them a day ahead.I dropped off the truck at 8 and left. I called at 4pm to check on the status becuz they said 6hrs labor. They said they just got the parts and will start working on it. I had to get the truck back because I work at night. Took it back 8am they gave me a ride home. Cool. I called at 5pm they said they were finishing up. Gave me another courtesy ride. Cool. I get there and I find out the alignment machine broke while trying to do my alignment. He said I could take it to the west ashley location the next day. Which now would be the 3rd day . My truck is unsafe and easy out of alignment. The alignment was fine when I took it there but because of the tie rod end being replaced it had to be reset. Then he asked if I would like to prepay for the service west Ashley. The audacity of him. Why would I spend another dollar with this company? Im supposed to go on a 8hr drive in the morning and I cant find anyone that has time to fix it

In general, it has been a good place to come. However, there were a couple of mishaps yesterday which caused a return trip. No apology for the inconvenience was ever offered.

Always there when I need an oil change & they are always so helpful. Its nice too that they can help me with more thats gone wrong on my car than just an oil change. They have also ordered & replaced spark plugs for me & all in the same day. Id recommend Honest 1 to a friend.

I took my car in for the ac compressor to be replaced. A clipboard was left on the dashboard over the labor day holiday and it stuck to and melted a portion of my dashboard. After a battle with management they replaced it. After picking my car up I noticed two days later my ac stopped working it had no freon in it. Use them at your own risk!
I would have rated this 5 star but I needed a shuttle to and from and one was not provided. The manager and the mechanic seem to have a great rapport with each other and they made sure my car was fixed. My original quote was $1,044 but I ended up spending $1584. Almost $300 was my fault. The other 200 was the fault of the system they let use to promote their business. Overall, I would use them again and the company stood up to its name, Honest and A1.
We came for our honeymoon and the service was fantastic. We loved everyone who worked there and even made some new friends at the table next to us. We ended up joining tables and the manager brought us over some complimentary champagne. It was an amazing experience. My wife loved the duck and waffles and I had the ribeye, rare, it was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be having more celebrations at Elis Table.

Not being local, and having little experience with what to do with a bent wheel, Eric was extremely helpful with helping me get back on the road. Eric spent all day attempting to locate a used wheel, and when he was unable to find one, he then proceeded to tell us that we’ll order a new wheel, get it in the next morning, and we’ll be on our way home. He was so helpful and made us feel at ease with the whole experience. Everyone was pleasant and we got what we needed to get done

I had my car looked at here for AC intermittently blowing, the mechanic said I needed the freon charged, $200 later, I spoke to the mechanic about the intermittence of the air and asked if it could be the blower motor. The mechanic stated if it happens again, just hit the glove compartment box and if it comes on, its the blow motor and the Toyota dealership would have to fix it with their parts... I brought my vehicle to Geralds tires after I still continued to have the problem and within a couple hours they had the blow motor replaced and it was about the same price as the freon that was added... The employees at Honest One were nice, but I would not go back based on this experience.
I recommend these guys to everyone I know. As their name states, they give you an honest assessment and pricing, and work hard to take care of you quickly. I trust them with my car!

Ive been there a number of times and have yet to be disappointed.
So i took my 2011 acura tl yo the ladson location because my A/C stop blowing cold air. They told me it was the ac compressor failure and said the bearing had locked up. They told me it would be $2200 to repalce th whole system or 1100 to replace the ac compressor and clutch and vacuum out the lines out . I decided to get a second opinion and took it to auto tech down the road. Well guess what they told me it was the ac relay and a burnt wire and charged me $350 to fix it! A/C now blows cold with no problems.So i went from $1000-2200 to$350. How in the world could they have misdiagnosed this so badly !!! I dont know about the Honest one name !
I received excellent service here. Shatara, the receptionist, was extremely pleasant and professional. David, the mechanic did a perfect job on my car and everything is running so smoothly. Yes, they are a little pricey but from the service to the labor it was most definitely worth it!

Gonna have to say I am very disappointed and frustrated at my visit today. I was suppose to be scheduled at 8am for and oil change, inspection and tire rotation. I watched the whole 3 hours I was here. All that was done was the oil change. I said something about it and they then put my. At back on the lift to rotate the tires. But thats it. Not happy at all.
Honest 1 was so kind and immediately helped fix our car - for no charge! We were passing through and had an undercarriage issue on the bottom of our car. Called ahead of time and they were waiting for us upon arrival. Fabulous service and saved our vacation travels!

Sherry the owner was extremely non-accommodating even after she admitted a false diagnosis of my vehicle and that she gave me misleading information. The staff where very pleasant and understanding of the fault of the owner and they were apologetic, but could not refund the money spent or correct the problem with my car. Here is what happened: I sent my car for a heater repair and was contacted by Sherry the Owner that the problem was a cracked valve which was $412 to replace. So I agreed to pay the $412 she calls and says the heater is fixed. I picked up the car and the heater was not working.( and still doesn’t work) The car is returned the following morning and Sherry says on I guess the flush didn’t hold. (Flush? You said it was a cracked valve) Then she says the heater needs a new coil which is another $980. She lied to me to get my money and refused to at least refund the missed diagnosed fee. I will never do business with this lying, thieving, conniving crook again and would never recommend anyone to this awful establishment. I guess Honest 1 isn’t so Honest.An unhappy Ex CustomerKen
I watched the guys playing around in the bay one guy picked up another one playing insted of working. It was very unprofessional. They over inflated my tires to 39/40 insted of 33. My husband had to fix it when I got home as my car ride was harsh because of the over inflated tires. Watched one guy holding up his pants with one hand trying to work with the other. Just crazy! Has to go here as my normal place is closed on Saturday. Wont make this mistake again.
Came into Honest 1 for a check engine light issue and my car was starting to stall out at times when at a stop light or turning. They said the problem was a couple of sensors that were bad and had to be changed out. One of the sensors we agreed on the work, but the other we did not. Come to find out that they changed both sensors without permission. No problem, it was a miss communication and they ate the cost of accidentally replacing the second sensor. When picking up the car after the work was done, I had relayed my concerns to the owner about taking it on a long trip. I was planning on taking my daughters and 3 of their friends to Orlando to a dance competition by myself and my husband would not be accompanying me. The owner assured me that the car was like brand new and I would not have any problems. Well, we go on our trip to Orlando and it was fine there. On the way back home, we hit a thunderstorm, the car decelerates and stalls out on I-95. So now Im 2 hours away from home with 5 little girls sitting in the rain. Needless to say, we got home...the car did not. I called my Honest 1 about the situation and to make this long story not as long. They could not, would not help me. This is why I distrust most car repair shops. You can call yourself Honest, but that doesnt make you an Honest company. This was a very traumatic experience for me and the girls. I will never return to this place and I forewarn anyone who is contemplating going here. The lady who worked the desk, Skye, was very sweet. I did like her.
I took my car to honest one last week, they were extremely professional. they fixed several problems that I was having with my car. I was vary happy with how fast they fixed my car and how much money they saved me. I would defiantly recommend that you check these people out. their the best shop in this area!!

The front staff was great. They seemed excited to be at work doing their job. Great little waiting area upstairs with a window over the bay to look down on your car if you would like. It is where you can get coffee (or a water or soda down stairs), watch TV, play on their computer or just relax off to the side. My car was repaired in a reasonable amount of time and dont forget the treat they leave on your seat!
I sincerely wish I could give more than a Five Star Review. Im from Ohio and was here in Charleston for vacation and on the way to leave, my car did not start. This was Sunday 6/4 and no one was open to fix the problem which is electrical. On Monday morning, we called the Charleston Auto & Electric to have my car towed and they took my information and said theyd call back and no one ever showed nor did they call back so I tried Honest 1, they were at my friends house to tow in the time frame they gave. We arrived around 1:30pm, and the tech, Ryan, worked on my car from the time a bay opened up to four hours past his shift trying to fix the issue. Alli, who was also there 6 hours later than she was supposed to be was so friendly and kept me entertained while waiting for all this work to be done. At the end of the night (10pm past the shop hours) we hit a speed bump, however Ryan volunteered to come in on his day off today to resolve the problem with my car. The shop is clean, everyone has been friendly, they serve refreshments and have a lounge upstairs which is comfortable for the wait. I will soon be headed back to Ohio and will never forget the care these people have put into their jobs. Its pricey but highly worth it considering all factors.

Came in today for an oil change, the front desk lady/secretary pointed me to the upstairs waiting room as I had my 3 year old daughter with me and the waiting area downstairs was very small and cramped. I was suprised by the upstairs waiting area with the chairs, tv, coffee maker, and the computer. My 3 year old was walking around from the tv over to the garage window and an employee came upstairs and very rudely (almost scolding me) and asks me to keep it down because they can hear everything downstairs. Super rude and I can assure you my daughter was not jumping or stomping just walking. Even if she was theres better was to approach the situation. Some proper costumer service could help these people out greatly. If they treat their customers with such rudeness I will not be back. This will be my first and last visit to this shop.

After having to deal with these people who never actually fixed my car. (I had to have it towed to a dealership to PAY AGAIN to fix). I went up the chain of command to the owner SHERRY. Who did nothing, not even call me back and would not take my calls.Update: I ended up disputing the authorized and unauthorized charges that amounted to a $1500 bill with B of A, only to win back $900. I am still angry because they didnt fix the car and I paid twice (dealership and them). But, Im going to leave it to Karma at this point. This is NOT how you treat people. They are cheaters and irresponsible individuals.

I’ve taken three of my vehicles to this place, and only this place. But recently someone I’ve never met before answered the phone when I had questions about my last inspection and implied that none of what I thought was done was done and was very rude. I’ve lost all confidence in them and maybe my myriad of car troubles in ALL THREE cars were caused less by my luck and more by faulty mechanics.
I discovered Honest about 3 years ago when I had a Chevrolet Impala. I lived in Ladson and it was the closest place to me so I figured Id give it a try. Well 3 years and two cars a move to North Charleston later and I still go to Honest!
I have been looking for a place for my car service and repairs. A friend recommended Honest 1, and I took my car there today. They were friendly, professional, and took care of my car with no pressure to do other services. They have a wonderful facility with a waiting room upstairs that overlooks the service bays. They took care of something very minor that I had been worried about for some time that another shop had told me would require spending $250. I have so excited to have found a new home for my car services.
The worst place I went to went there to get tires balanced. It took 3 hours. People where coming in behind me. For oil changes. Got there car in and out .me I was still waiting on them to pull mine .and when they finally did. Then they went to lunch. left it in the shop nobody doing anything to it .bad.bad.bad business

After having the vehicle a week longer than promised I show up for an invoice ~25% HIGHER than quoted. Poor communication only worsened by substandard Customer Service. Too many reputable businesses in the area to waste time and frustration with this outfit.

Never take your car to honest 1 auto care!! I had my wedding band in my glove department and now its missing. Everything from my glove department was found in my back seat thrown around. Nothing but a bunch of thieves!!!

I’d give 0 stars if I could after all the frustration I had at this shop. I got an estimate from them and scheduled an appointment. When I dropped my car off, I get a phone call that the repair price is actually almost $300 more than previously discussed price (including everything) because THEY made a mistake calculating labor and added more things to it, which I later found out from a different mechanic was NOT even needed. Talk about honesty??Not to mention how much it threw my plans off and wasted priceless time.DO NOT go there. You will pay a fortune and a bunch of extra that your vehicle might not even need. Out of my own experience they obviously are not knowledgeable. Very very disappointed and frustrated.
They charged three times the price that I couldve paid at the Chevy dealer. They broke off the bolts that hold the starter on and then charged me to replace them. This was my 2nd visit and on the first visit I was told I needed 2000$ worth of repairs I did not request. I was promised a ride back to their shop then had to call a cab. I had to report them to the Better Business Bureau! I would NOT recommend them nor will I return. The mechanic even said when I told him I would not return that he understood and didnt blame me. WORST CAR REPAIR EXPERIENCE EVER!!!Do NOT GO HERE unless you want to be price gouged and lied to by the supposedly HONEST Automotive. They should be shut down!!!
I first went there three months ago an mister Phillip was so helpful an friendly. I just recently went there again to get an oil change the lady that was there was so help she gave me a list all the things that my car needs to move smoothly along with the price. Hands down Ill be coming back although the price of the tune up could come down a little.
Really great people, nice owner, great service... With that said I took my car there for a problem and spent $700 and the problem wasnt fixed the first time. Took it a second time and paid just over $300 but the problem was still never fixed. I took it to a second mechanic after this and they fixed the problem very easily...Again, great people but they hardly know what they are doing in there...I definitely would say do not use this place. I mean, unless you want to drop a thousand dollars for nothing to be fixed. They are honest but they dont have the knowledge to follow their costs.
Stopped in with a wheel issue. The owner was there and helped us personally. He broke a tool trying to unstick a lug nut. He wouldn’t take any money! What an amazing gesture. Thanks for your kindness!!
Great folks to work with. I trust them with my cars and have found them to be, as their name implies, Honest. Really enjoy dealing with them.
I had a fuel pump problem with my truck . They told me that it would be 1039 dollars 600 for fuel pump . Convinced them I would buy my own . Then they told me it did not fit . Took 2 hours off workWent to parts store to find out it was same one as old one .got back to there shop put pump in myself .. what a crock. Will not be going back . They tried to rip me off . Ended up almost 600 they did manage to put tank back in and rotate my tires ... got my pump for 250 . All most 6 days later finally got my truck back ....
This is the worst place to ever go to they are disgusting individuals they lie just to keep your car there my car been there for 2 weeks it took them 1 week to diagnose the car then they had to call a mechanic from a dealership because their mechanic couldnt do it. They have hung up in my face for questioning whats takimg so long. They dont call back when they say they will over all this has been the worst experience Ive ever had with a mechanic.. if you dont want to be inconvenienced more than u have to I highly suggest looking somewhere else.. they are the worst company Ive ever seen or heard of and their customer service sucks l.
The only thing you can trust them with is an oil change. my first time taking my car there, they kept it for weeks and the problem i brought it in with was never fixed and had to bring it back for another week and they never reached out to me with updates, i had to call several times a day. decided to gove them another chance sense they gave me cupons to make up for my last awful experience and i made it clear i had a lot going on today and if the appointment would take longer than a 2 hours i need to reschedule. going on hour 6 now and stillnothing. when i call its a different person saying they have no info on my car and told to “just wait till i get a call” never take your car here unless you are desperate. my only day off of work this week and im unable to do anything i need to.

The only thing honest about them, is they dont know what theyre doing! I was given a diagnosis for my vehicle that was incorrect and I dont believe anyone actually checked out my vehicle. It seems that my check engine light was scanned and that was it. No true diagnostics and I paid for nothing. Biggest waste of my time and money. I have a scanner at home! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! I should have listened to my sister and got the hell out of there.

When I was heading to SC from Richmond, VA, my car died in Harleysville, SC. I paid $120 just to have it towed to you, because I knew you would do a great job. I made it back to Richmond, VA today. If I could give negative stars I would. Took my car in for diagnostic they told me my oil was black and gooey. After being told the oil was only two weeks old, the story changed. They have caller ID and do not answer the phone if they know your number, instead they kick you to voicemail and dont return messages. Told me they called the warranty company for repairs, warranty hasnt heard from them. Owner is always on a conference call or out of town, but she is the one thats supposed to be handling calling the warranty company. Was told my car was in the bay being worked on, asked to speak to the technician and suddenly he is not there.Expecting phone call tomorrow, doubt Ill receive one.
HORRIBLE. Receptionist was rude. They held my car for two and a half days for me to get it back And when I did finally get it back I still see signs of the problem I came to them to fix is still not completely fixed or fixed correctly.

Had to take our truck in twice for a brake job that they didnt get right the first time! Was charged enormously both times! Manager was rude and didnt care about our situation a bit! We were stranded there for 3 hours!! He wouldnt even pay for us a rental car being that it was their fault that we had to return back after they said it was fixed, this was all in the same day. He said Im sorry theres nothing i can do for yall!!! Our brakes were smoking and locked up on us while we was on the hwy!! I have just had surgery and have a hole in my stomach and my bandage was falling off due to standing outside there in the heat, and they didnt even offer me a single piece of tape!!We had to stay there that Saturday cause the master mechanic wouldnt be back till that Monday to work on our truck! Finally 3 hours later the manager let us drive the pos Saturn with no A.C. they had there for purposes like this!! I Dont Recommend this So called AUTO REPAIR SHOP to anyone!! I really didnt even want to give them 1 star!! I will be reporting them to the BBB!! It ended up costing us over $1000 for the crappy work and rude service!! The receptionist was sweet tho. They should definitely take honest out of their name!!!
They were incredibly nice and promptly helped out two out of staters with a minor issue free of charge. We were directed there by a family who lives in Ladson and talked about their countless great experiences there. I can see why, they were nothing short of sweet and made the largest impact on the outcome of the rest of our trip!
Top-notch service and a friendly staff. No high pressure upselling, but they do a good job of offering suggestions for deferred maintenance.
Went here last week for an oil change. Service was not as good as before.
I would give them a zero if I could. Awful repair work. Car is not 100% like they promised it would be upon completion of work. Same price as dealership. Please do not do business with these crooks.
