They would have zero stars if possible.I lived in a unit at Richdales Alpine Village apartments for 3 years. At move in I paid a $450 deposit, $350 for security and $100 for a pet deposit for my spayed/declawed cat. My cat passed away in early 2015 and I did not have any pets after that time.At my move out I turned my keys into Amanda, the Apartment Manager, after I had finished cleaning and taking video and photos of my unit. She told me that as part of the move out inspection a company needed to do a black light inspection of the carpet and pad to make sure the carpet was salvageable since I had a pet during my residency. (This was regardless of the fact that the carpet did not have visible stains of any kind as you can see in the attached photos.) I called to find out when the inspection would take place as I wanted to be present and was told by her that it had already been completed, that multiple urine stains were found in every room, and the carpet would have to be replaced. She stated that everything else in the unit was acceptable.I expressed to her that any stains found were not from my cat as she never used the bathroom outside of her litter box and that the previous tenant had a dog that obviously did use the floor as there were stains on the linoleum in the bathroom (notated on my move in checklist). She stated that the carpet was NOT NEW when I moved in, but that I would need to discuss anything further with Richdales Corporate office as my file was transferred to them now that I wasnt a tenant. (I would like to point out also, that my carpet was cleaned twice by Alpine Village -- for each year I resigned a 12 month lease - post the death of my cat.)I then called Richdale Corporate and the receptionist would transfer me every time, directly to a womans voicemail. I would leave a voicemail, the woman would never return my calls. After a week, she answered her line and I was informed she wasnt the person I needed to speak to and that I needed to speak to a move out specialist named Kristy Coopenheimer. When I spoke to Ms. Coopenheimer, she was rude and hung up on me after telling me that I would have to prove that the urine on the carpet wasnt my cats. I called back and asked for her Supervisor and was transferred immediately to Tammy Halls voicemail. I never received a return call from Ms. Hall.I received a letter from Richdale stating that they had retained 95% of my deposit due to carpet & pad replacement. They did not include photographs of the alleged damage, even though I was charged for photographs on the breakdown. Two days later I sent a letter via certified mail to the Account Reconciliation department at Richdale requesting copies of invoices for the replaced carpet and pad, proof that the carpet was new when I moved in, color copies of the black light photos, and the opportunity to inspect the underside of the carpet/pad in person; or a refund of the money withheld if they could not provide me with the information. I received no response.Today I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau; to go with the ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN other complaints previously filed against them.I have spoken to three other tenants who left previous to me who had their deposits retained. In every case they were told the black light inspection showed the carpet was ruined.BEWARE as this is what you can expect living in a Richdale property.

At move in my counters were dirty, vents were filled with dust and our carpet had many spots where it was very rough due to being old and most likely things spilled and cleaned from last tenants. Our balcony was covered with chalk written all over.. Our bathroom light fixtures were and are still broke from last tenant.... Ive lived here since April 2020. Then came July and outside my balcony we had a yellow jackets nest.. I have two little ones that LOVE playing out there and they never fully got rid of them. I started calling weekly and finally got corporate involved...I have paid rent on time very single month since I moved in...well, for some reason my check was returned and I had no idea this had happened.. I received no calls nor emails nor mail from their office advising me of this issue. ON January 13th, I checked my account to see how much money I could put for gas in my car and saw all my rent money in my account. I called the office minutes after thry opened and never review a call back from Maritza in the corporate office. A lady called me at 5pm that day advising me I owed my rent... I laughed and told her Ive been waiting on a call back because its ridiculous how I never received notice of this... the lady on the phone told me that they send out a letter and most likely was in transit... I just review that letter TODAY AND IT WAD DATED FOR THE 13TH! The day I called THEM!! For them to have no problem lying to me is really so unprofessional and the many times Ive been given the run around is horrible. I would not recommend anyone move here even if they gave me money.... I am highly disappointed with this apartment complex. This was a waste of money and time to live here. *edit* I also asked if they could clean the carpet again due to spots, before I even moved in...and thry told me they can only do it once and that was final.... today, my microwave stopped working and I havent lived here a year yet... also felt the place kept flaring my allergies and come time to change the vents it changed.... this means thry do not change into new vents when new resident enters........ that is a shame. 2ND EDIT: SPOKE WITH PERSIN YESTERDAY AND SHE GUARANTEED THEY WOULD BE HERE TODAY TO FIX.. THRY NEVER CAME..... GOING ON DAY 3 TOMORROW OF NO MICROWAVE. UPDATE: It has been a week today with no microwave. Still no word on when they are sending someone to have it fixed. Update: I am going on two weeks,no microwave and now my bedroom and sons bedroom has no power in outlets... I am on day 2 for my room, and day 1 for my sons room. This apartmentcomplex is only ran on lamps you plug in for rooms so now we have no lights in either room. UPDATE: From March-July, I have caught 5 mice.... I advised office after catching first ..then followed up with second weeks later.... I then caught three more this past month.... Their place is infested with pests and rodents. They do not care. My son has asthma and it has been very hard to keep his health in shape ....I am happy to say July 9th is my last day here finally after 18 long months ..... I would NOT RECOMMEND moving to this complex AT ALL.

Alpine Village is nowhere youd want to live if you believe in the 1st amendment right to free speech. I had a political flag displayed when I was notified to take it down or risk retaliation when my lease comes up. Well I took it down with the promise all others would take theirs down also. What a lie, others with different political views are still displaying their signs. Actually the Rules and Regulations state that No banners or signage of any kind will be permitted.I want to bring up another problem, almost on a daily basis you can definitely smell marijuana in the hallways.

We recently bought a house and moved out of Alpine Village. Our experience here was good. Really the only complaint I have is that the outside could really use some work. It looks a little run down, but inside my apartment was completely remodeled before I moved in. The maintenance seems to know what they are doing and always fixed my issues in a pretty timely manner. The office girls are so nice and always knew me by name which is more than I can say for my last apartment complex. I cant speak for the corporate office (other reviews say they are pretty bad) because I never really had to call them for anything. When we moved out I got a bill and there werent any charges that I wasnt already expecting. I feel like people only write reviews when they are mad or they didnt get their deposit back or something. I feel like they were pretty honest with me and I want to make sure other people know that. Paying my rent was easy because I was able to pay online every month with no extra cost for using the online payments. I cant really think of anything else so overall it was a good experience and my favorite apartment before buying my house.

Signed a 15 month lease back in February, we didn’t realize that being on the second floor, people would be able to jump right up into our balcony. And people often look straight into the apartment (very nosy), other than that the people are very friendly and I like the girls at the leasing office (who strangely always remember who I am and my room number) they are very nice too. I can hear every time someone comes in and out of the back door (very loud) but eventually got used to that. My main concern is we have had TWO incidents where they came to do maintenance and we were given no notice. I check my email every day and get every email the leasing office sends. No notes on our doors or the outside doors either. One time we were not home, they had left the lights off, closed the blinds, and later that week we found a cigarette butt in the sink. They also left a mess of lint everywhere from the cleaning the dryer hose (is that a thing?). The second time I was home (came to change air filter) yet only a month later they came to change it again only THIS time they had posted a notice on EVERYONES door. This was not okay with me especially because I could have been home alone (and indecent) and not heard him knocking and he would have just walked RIGHT IN!!! Not okay. Another issue I have is constant police activity, it makes me feel like I have to look out for a murderer or something! They didn’t even tell anyone across the street (where my cousin lives) that there was a shooting in the complex. Which was very close to home for her. Also we aren’t allowed to give up our garages but the light in ours barely worked, there was no outlets, and our cars barley even fit. All in all if we would have lived on the top floor and we’re given notice when they are coming to do maintenance, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review.

I paid my rent last night online and had to pay the WHOLE amount owed because the leasing office said they don’t know if they would approve waiving a late charge. Now calling account services they told me since I move out soon that I’ll have to wait 2-4 weeks after I move to receive that access amount I paid! ($236.00) It going to be 2 months before I see my money again! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I’m going to the Better Business Bureau with my complaint!!!

Maintenance here is terrible they take days to respond to issues. We have had appliances break in our apartment and we are still waiting for them to replace it we were told you will get it when we get it... it has been a month and counting. There is one thing that is positive about this complex, most of the people in the office are very kind and customer focused this seems to be lost on their maintenance crew, Also if you would like to see their crew come by around 8 in the morning and their trucks will be blocking you from going to work in their over crowded parking lot.

I have had nothing but frustrations and problems since I moved into Alpine Village. The day I moved in the carpet was wet and numerous maintenance issues were present in the unit. I was told of a surprise expense that is the amenity fee the day I signed the lease and it was conveniently never mentioned during my unit tour or when I paid the deposit prior to move in date. The billing system has tried to charge me a fee for not having renters insurance numerous times even though I provided a copy of my renters insurance documents prior to move in. The street traffic is loud and the building entrances are poorly maintained. The leasing office is randomly closed for meetings or with no explanation at all when I have stopped by to talk to someone about picking up packages or followup on numerous maintenance requests. The office staff seems to have high turnover or rotation and does not give the impression they communicate with each other well let alone know what they are doing. The complex is located in a decent neighborhood off a major street but other than that I would strongly advise you to rent somewhere else with a more clean and maintained environment, better maintenence team and knowledgeable office staff.

This place is absolutely the worst. Nothing will get fixed if its broken, they charge you late fees if they take too long to process your payment even if you pay it in advance or on time. They charge little fees hidden in your rent all the time for stuff you dont have, dont use, or didnt ask for. They also lost our move in checklist and tried to charge us for everything that was wrong because of the last tennant. This apartment company is a joke and theyre just there to swindle your money. DO NOT MOVE HERE, you have been warned. They will screw you over, there is never parking. The one manager Amanda is absolutely rude, its quite disgusting how they treat their tennants and how they constantly try to hide random fees in your rent. Worst apartment complex Ive every lived in. When my wife and I moved in, the carpet smelled like smoke and cat urine. We tried to file it in the damage report, and the management denied that the previous tenants smoked or had pets. However, the neighbors confirmed that was a lie. When we asked what can be done, the manager said Well, go ahead and move all of your belongings back out and get a hotel for a week or so, then come back when its all taken care of. I guess it wasnt their job to take care of these kinds of things before we moved in. Moving everything back out was not an option, being that I started grad school that next Monday. Instead, we shampooed the carpet ourselves, and the water collected from the carpet was black from tar. We still filed everything in the damage report.Originally, we had to pay a $250 security deposit, and an extra $100 for each pet. Almost 2 years later, we have moved out and are now being charged over $200 for the damages that we had already reported from the previous tenants. When we called to discuss the matter with management, they claimed that a carpet company came in and said that the damages were caused recently...which seems very hard to believe being that we had taken care of the carpet 2 years ago and left it in MUCH better condition than when we moved in. We asked Why are we getting stuck with damage costs that the last tenants caused? Their response was Because, you just are before hanging up on us. Being that they didnt want to take care of the problems from the beginning, I have a strong feeling that they pull this crap on every new tenant; blow off all responsibilities until the tenants move out so they can charge for previous damages.Take my advice, choosing to live here is not worth it. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The rent might be cheap, but it definitely reflects in the quality of the apartments. Quality and maintenance is non-existent. Even worse is the management and customer service; trust me when I say these people are swindlers, and you will only end up burning a hole in your wallet. Our experience with the staff was not always this unpleasant, but after moving out, I would have to say that their business tactics are practically criminal...just an opinion.

EDIT 10.20: There have been a lot of long-term residents moving out recently. I received lease offers after 2 years of tenancy and the best offer they gave was a $50 increase with 12 month lease. During a pandemic. Myself and many other tenants have been struggling with pest issues and I feel a bit gaslighted when talking to the property manager about it. I am unable to get ahold of anyone from corporate even though Ive tried contacting twice. I like living here, even though rideshares are super expensive, mostly because it is safe and I have a large balcony. But a $50 monthly increase on top of all of the fees that keep piling on is unmanageable. There is an additional $45 required amenity fee and if I sign another lease there will be a mandatory monthly $15 valet trash fee. There really arent any amenities besides a pool; they removed the on-site recycling. Im not seeing enough improvements to validate such price hikes and Im upset that they would treat a current resident in such an inconsiderate manner. I feel like they are trying to push me out and that is not a nice feeling.________________________________________EDIT 10.19: Still happy with my residency here, so I signed another 13 month lease. Since my last review theyve begun offering valet trash service and installed a grill pad at the leasing office. Only issue Ive run into is that some residents dump their trash in the recycling bin, which leads to all items inside being disposed of as trash. I mentioned my discontent with the issue, as this is a perk included in the monthly amenity fee, but there has been no action on Richdales part to resolve it; I suggested an email blast to spread awareness. I also havent heard anything about my recent maintenance request that I sent in over a week ago...○○○○○○○○○○○I signed a 13 month lease with Alpine Village back in August. So far my experience has been quite good. The on-site management is responsive, and recognizes me when I come into the leasing office. They offer a package service, and send an email when packages arrive. The apartment Im renting hadnt been updated during the residency of the previous tenant, so Ive entered quite a few maintenance requests but the maintenance staff responds quickly. I am a bit concerned that our backdoor lock continues to get broken. But the roads, parking lots, sidewalks are cleared of snow and I very rarely see trash laying around. The residents are friendly, trustworthy in my complex and the office holds community events. So far, its a HUGE step-up from my previous apartment-rental experience. I will update once Im further into my residency.

I will start by saying make sure you carefully look over the apartment you are going to lease before you sign. With that warning, here is my review of my time in the apartment.I will start with that I felt cheated when I signed up. I was shown an amazing apartment. When I went to put in my application, my apartment was still be worked on so they would not let me see it. Turns out my apartment was an basement apartment and still wanted to charge me as if it was there standard apartment. It was extremely dark all the time. In the middle of the day every light had to be turned on just so you can see. Once summer came, my neighbors had their AC running all the time. This meant I could never have my windows open because the AC units would blow hot air into my apartment. At first, it was very quiet and it turned out to be that way for a while. As new neighbors moved in, as most neighbors in the apartments, they became quite loud. This made going to sleep at night difficult. I did have one great neighbor but was arrested. I seriously question how well they vet people. Some of them like to party. Parking is an issue. They dont have nearly enough parking. It is mainly an issue when you had to carry in food. Because of the pool, the parking is the worse in the summer with so many kids coming over to swim.Another issue was that they have a foundation problem. This lets water during storms into the apartment. This damaged the rug, baseboard, dry wall and paint. I would be surprised if the root cause was fixed. I would be concerned about mold. If they fixed it, I would ask how they fixed the issue since they have holes in the foundation along with any supporting paperwork. The last thing I will warn you about is the ventilation filter on the HVAC unit. They buy the cheapest filters, which is not even correctly sized for the units. I would think they would want to use standard filter to not only protect the health of their tenants but to protect and prolong the HVAC units. Those cheap filters will shorten the life of the furnace and reduce the efficiency of the unit. The filters will not filter out any dirt or dust, it just wont.Despite all of the issues I listed, I probably would live their again. Over all I liked it, just not living in the basement.

Well where do i start. when we first moved in we were in love with the place, 2 bed large balcony full kitchen. the first month or two was great, or so we thought. it started when new neighbors moved in up stairs and next to us. up stairs had what sounded like elephants that played video games with foul mouths. we could here running wrestling, tv music and mario at all hours of the night and morning and not just 11 pm but 3 am 4 am 5 am. we called and called about the complaints nothing was done, we even asked to switch units but nothing, the people who lived there before had children and we never heard them... on top of that, we had pot smoking people next door, we would come home to a house full of smoke, I do not want my dog around that or my little brother who visited on weekends let alone myself. we also called about that... nothing was done. so we called the police instead, it still was not enought to get them kicked out, Alpine was clearly ok with all of this going on. along with no heat for days on end with no one fixing it and no way to stay warm, we live threw hell for months, finally move out and get this big bill for 700$ or so, when I called to settle it they tried every way possible to add whatever fees they could on there, Not only did there management give us a different copy of the lease that what we actually signed they lost paperwork, like our check off list. they tried to pin us with changing carpet fees (when the carpet was not changed when we moved in) they also tried to charge for extra days because the copy of the lease they gave us was a different date than what they have. this management is CRAP, they are very disorganized the cleaning lady answered the phone most of the time when we called for anything, DONT MOVE HERE! warning. I have never seen an office be so unorganized! They dont follow there hand book so dont think that will save you and they just simply want your money. I now have a lawyer on my security deposit issue and am trying to work my way threw this.
