If I could rate a 0 star I would. I dont know the hiring process but they have very offensive people. I was at a red light with my family and there work truck pulled up next to us and one employee hanging out the window cat calling me and the guy in black seat calling me offensive names. They need to hire better people to represent the company.

I gave one star a while ago and tried to do away with review. Since then, they have stepped up their game. The workers seem to be more aware of how they shoot the grass clippings. I am pleased with their service. They work hard in the heat and I would like to thank them for that. And Thank you for addressing the issue.

I left 2 messages and never got a call back. Used Volunteer Lawn until it merged into this company. Sorry, they have lost my business.

Volunteer Lawn is a fantastic company. Ive worked for them for 3 years now and couldnt ask for better managers. Curt and Donald are awesome and work extremely hard to keep the hundreds of customers happy. Thank you Volunteer for giving me the best work experience.

Owner cares more about bottom dollar and profit over life and safety of employees. No safety equipment is issued for employees. No vest, safety glasses, or ear plugs. The trucks also have inadequate safety equipment as I had to find a first aid kit and had to look through 7 trucks before finding one. There is also no traffic cones or ‘Mowing Crew Ahead’ signs that can warn oncoming drivers of workers in or near the road. I have almost gotten hit on multiple occasions. Another is witnessing employees abusing drugs before driving the company vehicles. THC, Methamphetamine, and other hard stuff is what all I witnessed in my time employed here. And this isn’t to bad-mouth the company; this is all just what I have witnessed in my employment at Volunteer Lawn.

They offered neighborhood wide winterization for our irrigation system. Very reasonable

LOVE this company! They do professional and thorough work and are so easy to work with. Forrest goes above and beyond for his clients, including going to meet with them after work hours to make sure they are satisfied. I highly recommend them!

I called to get an estimate on a new irrigation system to be installed. On the original appointment day, they were a no show with no phone call either. I had to call multiple times only to get an apology for not calling me to tell me that they weren’t going to be able to make it. Rescheduled for another day and the same thing happened yet again. No show, no phone call! If I can’t even rely on this company to give me an estimate, there is no way I am going to use them to do the actual work. Thoroughly unprofessional.

A OK place to work short term my overall experience working for them is the pros are time goes by fast because your moving around. Cons its not uncommon when your foreman calls in or is out for vacation they make you foreman and dont pay you foreman salary so thats not really fair to you no payed sick time no payed vacation no 401K health insurance is terrible and I feel that they should pay a little better since there the biggest lawn care company in Knoxville I am happy to say I have moved on to something better.

A little on the high side. They also once charged me for a leaf blow that I didnt ask for while I was away from home. Which ended up adding $200 to my bill rather unexpectedly. They did remove that charge and never made the mistake again there after, which speaks to their quality of customer service.

Doing business with Volunteer really is amazing. Forest and his team are professional, punctual, reliable and thorough. I would highly recommend this company.

Very disappointing, they came recommended to us. They were suppose move a sprinkler pipe and head from where we needed a goal post put in. They moved the head but forgot to move the pipe and by the time we realized it was too late and we had to move over our goal to accommodate their mistake. They also left one of our valves open on the system too, so we had an increased water bill. Overpriced and wont be a repeat customer. I only went with them based on a recommendation and time frame they could get to us! Ill be staying with Rainscapes!

These guys do FANTASTIC work and the customer service cant be beat. Use them for landscaping projects and they do our yard work here at Pryse Farm. Totally satisfied. For landscaping be sure to try and get Kurt to get your project going and for follow-up. Hes honest and dependable to the core.

Nice office staff.

Every year this company takes money from a woman in our neighborhood to rake her leaves. And every year they leave them piled in our streets until they blow all over the neighborhood, or cars drive through them and drag them through the neighborhood. They charge her for leaf removal, but they just pile them up in street and leave.

Very pleased with volunteer customer service and professional staff & workers. Several events at our location have necessitated important yard work, which has always been provided with great enthusiasm and attention to detail.

I had been extremely pleased with my lawn care until 2016--the service had been impeccable. Unfortunately in 2016, there was a female herbicide sprayer that was extremely careless. She would constantly talk on her phone while spraying. We asked her to be careful, but the service did not improve. I lost five hydrangeas and an evergreen due to her carelessness. I emailed and called the company to have them replaced, but my correspondence was never answered. I understand this particular employee is no longer with them, but I think it is their responsibility to pay for plants they damage.

Call a over a week ago because I needed a company that would show up when they say they will. Havent showed up after I was told it would get done today. I called 3 different numbers, sent two texts in addition to the main number & no one answered. Maybe I need to find a different company that wants/needs my business...not satisfied at all.

They improperly installed a drainage pipe from another property onto ours causing flooding that in turn caused damage not covered by our insurance. They will not return any phone calls or emails.

I cant say enough good things about this company. The owner will personally respond to any questions, requests or issues we want to discuss. They have managed our community property for years. We have them contracted for snow removal on our driveway in and they will actually have staff spend the night to monitor the situation so our owners can make it out.

I was referred to this company by someone they do service for, however I couldnt get a price after 3+ weeks. I was told by several people they were working on pricing and VERY interested, but then no response to my calls or emails. Very disappointing, I would have started looking for another company weeks ago.

One of the only lawn care companies in knoxville that can do the job. I live at Charles Town Landing, and they have been doing our lawns, trimming, fertilizing, weed pulling and mulching for years. Their representatives are courteous and responsible. Any time I have a problem regarding their work, its immediately remedied as soon as I talk to one of their multiple on-site managers. Our home owners association has tried a few other companies over the years, however, they always come back to Volunteer Lawn! Horrible Lawn company and over priced, smaller Lawn companies around the area for less money that do alot better of a job. Just because you have high dollar equipment, doesnt mean you can produce high dollar Service. With the rates they charge the SERVICE should be alot better!!!
