John is not only an excellent barber, he is friendly and warm with good knowledge of the history of the Airplane Filling Station. What a great way to get my hair cut and revisit the past at the same time!

Johns a fantastic barber. My son and I have been with John for several years now. You cant beat him! After years bouncing around between Great Clips, Cutting Crew and Sports clips incl. A few other old fashioned Barbers... We settled down with John who doesnt rush through your cut to try to fit in as many clients as he can. Hes the real deal...good old fashioned quality service that weve longed for. Once in a while when the waiting line seemed to long and we were in a hurry...or when John was out with his surgery...we tried one or two others again. Thats when you notice the difference. John is top of the charts. We went back to John swearing to never go anywhere else again! :) Its like comparing McDs or Burger King with a Littons burger. You cant compare a mom and pop private business place (especially Johns) with a franchise. The proof is in the pudding! John cares about quality cuts...and provides just that...end of story. Thanks John! Youre the best!

I just moved to Knoxville and got my first haircut in Tennessee right here. John was super nice, did an awesome job giving me a fade, and was an excellent listener and giver of advice on life subjects. I’m going back for my second cut today

My Husband and Son went in to get their hair cut and he had one guest in the chair, when they walked in My husband asked how long the wait was and he said IF I get to you before closing time, it was 35 minutes before He closed, and My husband asked how long before he was done with the guy in the chair, and He was very short with my husband, so my husband said I will just to Great Clips, and he then followed my Husband out and asked if he was ok, being a smart a$$ about it. So the point is, He is Rude and short with people!! We will NEVER return to him again. We were trying to help out a small business after being shut down for months, and in turn, He was Rude!!! This is my opinion from what we experienced.

I’ve been going to John’s since I was 8, and I’m nearly 20. John can fade really well, and he knows what he’s doing. Definitely one of best barbers I’ve ever been to! I’d recommend John to anyone

Great experience! Love the atmosphere- very chill and welcoming, i was looking for a cool guy place to take my 4 year old son for a hair cut. This place has so much character, its a plane! John was great with my little and he loved his time there! Will definitely come back when its time for a fresh cut. Would recommend!

As a former Marine I can appreciate a barber that has mastered the fade on a high and tight. Then transition to s straight razor shave. Nicely done sir.

This place is fantastic. The barbershop reminds me of old fashioned Barber. He is passionate about his work, he takes his time. The Barber shop is shaped as airplane and it has a great atmosphere inside. If you have to wait for your turn There is theater seats you can sit down-and watch TV. The Barber is very talented.

Good haircut at a fair price. Neat little shop in shape of a plane with one barber chair. I have rarely had too long of a wait on a week day. Always a good western show playing on the TV. I started getting hair cut here earlier this year and have been a regular ever since.

We stopped in at Johns Barber Shop en route to the Smoky Mountains during a family trip, thinking it would be cool for my son to get his first haircut in an airplane. It was pretty close to closing time when we arrived, and my son put up a stink and wouldnt sit for his haircut, so I decided to get an old-fashioned shave instead. Afterwards, my son decided he DID in fact want his hair cut, but it was already past Johns closing time at that point. Nevertheless, John allowed my son to get his cut, and he took his time doing it right. We really appreciated Johns patience and his professionalism, and well certainly look back fondly on our sons first haircut... inside an airplane.

John’s Barber Shop is a great place to get a quick and economical haircut. He does a great job and is a nice fella.

Most excellent lil find. Hidden off the main highway. Should advertise this beauty. Has true has pumps from the day great conversation place to stop & show the kids. Get a haircut. Enjoy the site. Read the highway sign that tells all about why its there. Trust me this is a truely must see for those who enjoy the air or those who enjoy the odd.

John doesnt rush when folks are waiting, which is appreciated. Have patience and youll get a great consistent haircut. Nice atmosphere, and always great guy stuff on the TV!

Always a good haircut

The guy looked at my two year old and said thats a baby... we usually have two or three people here to cut babies hair ...my wife said I usually sit in the chair and hold him he said yeah we cant do that so long story short, on our way to another barber and with this guys business approach, the airplane on Clinton hwy will not survive long as a barbershop either! Maybe another used car lot will work!
