Terry was beyond excellent. He could sense that I wasn’t really in a chatty mood, I appreciate that. I was more focused on the whole experience he gave me. Felt like more of a spa visit than haircut. Terry has a cutting style that feels like a scalp massage. Excellent work. Always loved this place but today was the best yet.

Moved from NYC a year ago been searching and searching for a good barber. I took my son there today for the first time . The front girls were so very friendly . Facility looks like a high end cigar lounge . Erik was awesome def taking my son back there.

Kristen is the best! Kristen has been cutting my hair for over 3 years now. Gambuzzas is a nice place, BUT I only go to Gambuzzas because of Kristen. I dont know what I would do without her. Of my years of going to Gambuzzas, I have never met nor seen the owner. This is unfortunate because I would have liked to have reminded him about how happy he should be to have someone like Kristen representing his business. Kristen did my hair and I would not have anyone else do it if I were you. It was a truly exceptional experience. She was personable, funny, and had a great attitude! Worth every dollar spent.The store and staff as a whole were great as well. I was greeted immediately upon entering and checked in soon after. It’s a well kept establishment and if I lived in town, I would be there weekly for a touch up appointment.

West town location is horrible. Very unprofessional woman who checks you in. Condescending tone because I didn’t want to wait for a haircut when I arrived at my scheduled time. People have lives. I spend 35 dollars for a haircut that isn’t worth that much. I will never come back. I have been going there consistently for almost a year and I won’t ever show up. They don’t treat their customers very well. And I have paid much less for way better service. Customers have to right to express their frustration when they pay for a service. But certain people fee entitlement when they can only do the bare minimum. Oh yeah to that very same associate, Merry Christmas. (sarcasm of course)

Erik has been my best friend since I was 5 years old so I’d follow him wherever he worked but I’m glad he works at Frank’s. Every time I walk out of the shop, I feel like I look like the best possible version of myself. The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is perfect, and I always get that barber shop banter that helps ease the tension after a long day at work. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. I’ve honestly recommended Frank’s to at least 1,000 people in my years of going there. See the guy with the mullet or the cowboy. They’ll do you up real good.

Really cool barbershop. Was supposed to be the best in Knoxville. I have curly hair and made sure to seek out a barber there who knows how to cut curly hair. Clearly they didnt, because my cut resulted in frizzy curls that were way to short. The barber I had seemed to want to do his own thing, rather than listen to what I was asking for. Wasnt a fan and wont go back. Im sure they do great with straight hair, but if you have curly hair I would look elsewhere.

Outstanding atmosphere, great haircut for the value! The waiting area doesnt have too much in terms of seating, but they do have a pool table, a TV, and lots of stuff on the walls to look at. My appointment was at 3:45 last Friday, but they were so busy they didnt see me until closer to 4pm.As soon as I sat down in the chair, the barber began massaging my shoulders with a handheld massage machine. Then, he applied a hot towel to my face. After that, he began washing my hair (didnt even ask, its part of the service!). Then, he began cutting my hair. The conversation was light, as it should be, but interesting nonetheless. I would definitely go back. Five stars!

Fantastic!I had been a charter client of the original Franks Barber Shop. Today I happened to be driving near the new-ish Downtown West location, in dire need of a haircut and luckily I was able to get an appointment with Joel who listened to my hair cut description patiently. He asked when my last haircut was. I can now tell him it was June 8th, so readers you can see how dire my situation was! He performed magic and I left feeling awesome. Thank you, I shall be back.

Franks Barber Shop never disappoints. Ive never had a bad experience or a bad haircut since I started going over a year ago. The location itself has a modern look but is obviously influenced by the feel of old school barber shops and pubs. Get there a little before your appointment to enjoy the pool table, play darts, or just sit and enjoy a frosted mug of root beer while reading a magazine. The support staff is attentive, courteous, and thorough. The barbers are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.A bit of advice if youre booking online. Franks sorts their barbers into three tiers: Barber, Senior Classic Barber, and Expert Barber. Theres a small price jump between each tier. (Long story, short: If you dont see your barber as a choice online anymore, check other tiers. They may have moved up.)The first barber I had, Curtis, is great. When I went to book my next appointment online, his name did not come up as an option. I assumed he was no longer working at that location so I picked another barber, Kristen. I discovered Curtis still works there but hes in a different tier now, so he was filtered out as a choice. However, Im also very happy with Kristen so Ive decided to continue booking with her.

Curtis gave me a hair cut and beard trim. The attention to detail was amazing. I asked for a high fade with a scissor cut on the top with an easy fade into my beard - I didnt want my beard looking overly bushy with a tight hair cut. Curtis came through with amazing results.

Franks is the best place for a guy to get a haircut. After going from place to place with low quality cuts, I finally came home to Franks. I have been going here faithfully for over a year, and no matter who I make an appointment with at the shop, they always do an A+ job. No more bad cuts! The price is good too for such a high quality job. And the rootbeer makes the experience pleasurable too. Melissa also does a fantastic job and I recommend her to anyone.

I’ve had several barbers cut my hair at both locations (Terry, Angel, Mallory to name a few). At no point have I been disappointed with the experience. Every time I come in I’m treated with respect. For anyone who thinks it’s too expensive, realize they do things automatically that other, less expensive shops don’t. They will offer you a drink, help you relax by giving a (very brief) neck massage and a hot towel, wash your hair, and giving you one of the best cuts you’ve ever had. They don’t print out a receipt and give you the same thing you got last time like other factory line hair shops. They treat you like an individual. If you like being treated like an individual, spend a little more and try Frank’s.

After my teenage grandson recommended this place, I thought I would give it a try. I figured what the heck, more money than my usual place but I dont mind paying if I get my moneys worth. It was AMAZING! Great atmosphere, cold root beer in a frosted glass, neck massage, hot towel, hair wash before and after, shaved neck and an incredibly great haircut. Kristen was FABULOUS and I will never go anywhere else to get my haircut.

I’m new to town and this was my first visit to Frank’s. The haircut wasn’t terrible. The barber faded me down to skin which I didn’t ask for but since I asked for a taper I guess it was assumed (Now I’m not sure what to ask for). The main reason I go to a barbershop is to get the straight razor detail work. I wasn’t seeing any razors so I asked about it and after a pause the barber said, “yeah, we straight razor the neck.” The good barbers I’ve been to do a nice clean up with the razor around the ears, sideburns, and the neck. Not here. I had to go home and get rid of hair that I brought to the shop. I’ll give Frank’s one more try. I will put my expectations out there concerning the detail work, but If I have to go home and finish up myself, I’ll find another barbershop.

The setting at this location is just so relaxing. Staff is helpful and courteous. The free root beer in a frosted mug doesn’t hurt as well. However, Erick is the reason you want to get your hair or beard taken care of here. Erick has charm, wit, and an undeniable skill with hair. You can’t go wrong with Erick.

Being in the military I’ve always had a good clean cut and have high expectations. This was the first time having my haircut by a different barber in nearly 3 years, and I must say Curtis at the West location did an Exceptional job and was very friendly. Im new to town and decided to try out Franks Barber Shop. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. Would definitely return. Im just not crazy about the cut I received Before we started, my stylist asked me what I wanted to do. I told them what I usually do and even showed a picture of myself to them. I have long hair on top and its slightly disconnected from the sides. On the sides, I always get a 2 faded down to a 1 and I like my hairline tapered out. I also asked to have the top thinned or textured as its pretty thick and an eye brow wax. When they we were all finished, they asked me what I thought and I was honest as they didnt even taper my hairline out. At this point, I had a solid 2 on the sides and no fade. My stylist was understanding and said they could taper it in for me. They took the clippers and brought a short (almost no guard length) all the way up to my temples, then re blended my disconnect with a shorter guard than what Im use too. I dont hate the cut, its a great cut - just not what I asked for. They also forgot to texturize the top and wax my brows. I loved the atmosphere and the style there, its very trendy & modern. Also everyone was very friendly.

Veronica was so wonderful!! My oldest is 13 and never wants his hair cut. He has curly hair and considers a messy look his goal. 😳 Veronica was so amazing because my son uses a wheelchair and I normally have to transfer him into the barbers chair. She had him set up at a spot without a chair and brought over all her supplies to him. She’s also a taller lady. (I’m 5’2” so maybe everyone is tall🤔) so I can imagine this made it even harder for her. I was so pleased with her willingness to make it easier for me and she did THE BEST job on his hair. He still has the curls but it looks so nice now! We will definitely be going back to her!

We love Frank’s, our 11yr old has 2 cowlicks, 1 at his forehead hairline and one on the back of his crown, growing in opposite directions :-/. Finding a barber to be able to cut his hair and it look like it hasn’t been butchered has been a task in itself. When he was younger my sister (who is a master barber) was the only one that knew how to handle his head lol. She’s moved to Maryland and for the last several years we have had very little luck finding someone to cut his hair correctly. This was our 3rd visit to Frank’s. The other 2 experiences were great (obviously hence why we went back). We love the atmosphere @ Frank’s for sure but yesterday, we met Heather and she ROCKED his cut!

Franks has been my go to hair cut for the past five years. Their online booking is quick and easy and it allows me to look through my hair stylists schedule in order to pick a time that works best. The interior design is a strong mix of wood and leather with some classic art that tells the history of Franks. There isnt another barber shop Id rather choose. Oh, and ask for the root beer!

Always a great experience. You’re treated like you are important. Kristen is my go to and always does a great job. If you’ve never been, give Frank’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Waited weeks to get an appointment with Lindy because I missed my prior appointment. Although online showed no openings, I got lucky when I called. I stick with Lindy because she is professional and provides a perfect cut, she is friendly and interested, and I enjoy talking with her. She always greets me by name, even before our appointment. I feel like part of the family. Because of the length of time since my last cut, my hair was out of control and it took her a little longer. I gave her an extra tip.

Its OK to be a dude again! Having a cut at Franks was a great experience. I went with my elderly father whom we were laughing hadnt been to the barber together in ~47 years. Franks took us back in time but rather than getting whatever style you wanted as long as it was high and tight, the styles were fantastic. Big shout to Jessie (AKA Erik) who listened to what Iiked and didnt about what I had going on, evaluated my err situation and gave a terrific cut. I feel like a million today! Oh the atmosphere, billiards, cold root beer, cowhide furniture etc was great. not to mention the hot towels and warmed shaving foam. Very impressed and am a new regular customer

Frank’s is my go-to! Todd is an excellent barber who really cares about his craft, and your head of hair. Half the time I throw 7 different men’s hair styles at him and I come out with 1 perfect combo of what we looked at! Been in Knox 20yrs and Todd is the only barber I have found who knocks it out of the park every time. Can be pricey but hey, it’s the price you pay for someone to give a damn about your hair!

We’d been too many places that really messed up my sons hair so when I found Frank’s barbershop I was still pretty nervous. Walking in I was totally impressed by the decor-music, pool table, dart boards, checkers, leather chairs, root beer, old photos on the walls- just a really cool atmosphere. But the most important part is the haircut and it was perfect. Curtis had to work around the area the last “stylist” messed up and he did an amazing job. He put my sons mind at ease and gave him a great cut that he loved. We’ll never go anywhere else.

My boyfriend and I moved here from South Florida where the barbershops are amazing. He was extremely nervous to trust someone new with his hair. However, JW at Franks west location has far exceeded our expectations. Whenever we go we are greeted by the lovely front desk associates and offered delicious root beer. As my boyfriend gets his haircut I enjoy sitting in their luxurious waiting room equipped with a pool table and dart boards! We are always happy with the experience and my boyfriends hair always looks hot!

I moved here from Chicago, so I went on Google maps and checked the reviews and figured Id give this place a shot based on what I saw/read. I have high standards coming from Chitown. Let me start by saying, the environment is impressive. When you walk in, the people at the counter promptly greet you and offer you a rootbeer, water, or coffee while you wait. This is great. Unfortunately, thats where they get their only star.I asked for a simple bald fade. I have black hair so it shows every imperfection. I am attaching photos of what you let walk out of your barber shop as satisfactory work. How could a trained barber possibly look at their work and not see these insanely obvious blemishes. I went to Sport Clips to have this fixed and they did a fantastic job fixing the atrocity you call a cut.I would advise you steer clear of this place unless you want to look like a hot mess! I will NEVER return here (west location) or the other one for that matter.I will make sure I tell friends, family, and coworkers to avoid at all cost. Im positive Ray Charles could have done a better job, with Stevie Wonder being his co-signer.
