They up the price for no reason every month, and they never answer their office phone. Go elsewhere. Too expensive and there are competitors in the area that offer better service and are much much cheaper. We went elsewhere and they still charged us $120 for nothing, and picked up the trash bins a month after they said they would (after 3 calls to the headquarters).

As a previous review says they are good at picking up the trash - rarely did they miss a day - but that is all they are good at. We used them for 5 years and our bill constantly went up in small increments. We were paying $148+ a month for 1 trash and 1 recycling bin - I called a different company and quoted $110 for the same service, I signed up right away. When I called to cancel with these clowns they offered to lower my bill to $80+- I declined. I then get a bill for $21+- I called and they wiped it out saying clerical error. Now 2 months later I get a bill for $54.60 - the charge? Removal of my trash cans! $36.30 removal, $5.25 admin fee, $13.05 fuel/environmental fee! Completely absurd. I called and they cut it in half but wouldnt wipe it out because they already helped me out with the last bill - the one that I shouldnt have gotten to begin with!

Terrible garbage disposal company. After continuously raising my bill every quarter ridiculous amounts and missed pickups, I cancelled my service. I had recently paid my bill and the company owed me over $100. I have contacted Republic Services multiple times asking for a refund each time a representative says the check has not been processed but they will make sure it gets processed. I still have not received a refund. Additionally, they charged me $60 to pick up thier trash cans which I was not informed of when I started service with them. Do not give Republic Services any more business they should be investigated for fraudulent billing and have terrible customer service.

They are great as far as removal. Thats about it. They increase their bill every cycle calling it administrative fees. Then when canceling they hit you with more fees even though non of this is on the lot contract.

I was charged $174.99 to start with Republic services back in June I canceled service the beginning of October and requested them to remove my trash cans. I was told I would get money back because the 174 was prorated. I received a phone call this past week requesting that I pay a bill of $99 for the removal of the trash cans and $8 for one pick up. When I canceled I was never told that there would be a removal fee. I was expecting to get some money back. How is it that it’s $33 per can to drop off and suddenly it’s $49.50 per can to have them removed? This company is full of scum bag leaches. Avoid them! No other company charges to have trash cans dropped off at your residence.

My parents wanted to switch trash collection companies. They had Republic Services for a few years and wanted to go with Whitetail since their monthly rates are lower. When my mother called to cancel the service the representative told her on which day to leave the two collection bins at the curb. She also informed my mother that there was a fee to pick the cans up. My parents, being ones to investigate further called Whitetail and asked prior to signing up for their services, if this is a typical practice, to which the Whitetail rep said no and that it is against the law in Pennsylvania to charge to pick up a collection bin for which company already owns. When my mother called Republic Services again and explained she was not going to pay the return fee since it was illegal, the service rep told her to just leave the bins out then on the day they would come to collect them. We left them out, two weeks later on the scheduled day. The collection truck never came. So, my mother called to reschedule again, to which another two weeks elapsed, and the truck never came to take the bins. Finally, on a Saturday, usually when trash services are not working, the truck shows and walks down our long driveway to take the bins. We were astonished first that they blew off the first and second times for coming to collect these bins, and the excuse the first time that my mother was given by the rep was, Oh, we dont like to come on peoples properties. Lets just say, by chance, that collection bins are resting atop of grassy surfaces or are tucked inside someones driveway. Technically, with that, a collector needs to come on the property. This wasnt the worst of the situation though. Almost a month later, after the bins had been picked up, my parents came home from work and saw that one of my fathers work bins (which resembles one of the old BFI collection bins from thirty years ago) was gone. My mother heard noises earlier that sounded as though someone was in our driveway, moving things around, such as a bin. Had she known what was going on outside, she would have come out to tell them that the bins had been collected a month earlier, and that the bin they took (which was on the morning of November 21, 2018) was actually one of my fathers work bins he uses for contracting. It was actually his property and he owned it for thirty years. When my father called to complain and request that it be returned, they refused, saying it was BFI container and that it belonged to them. Well, for starters, BFI went out of business a long time ago and second, the container was blue, yes, I admit that, but it had no insignia or logo on the side indicating it belonged to anybodys former company. They refused to refund us for the bin, they refused to return the bin, the woman who my father and eventually my brother spoke with was extremely rude and obnoxious, and contrary to their initial philosophy that they dont like to come on peoples properties, indicates that they seem to love to sneak onto their clients properties without proper authorization and steal! This is why Republic Services does not represent just what they preach, a republic, but instead, they represent their own corporate pocketbook and this may be one of the reasons there isnt a corporate telephone contact number, and why there are fewer Republic Services waste bins alongside the streets now. Running a business like this will run you right into the ground. F- service, F- courtesy, and plainly, just a fouled up business. I hope they go under.

Do not pay to have them pick up your cans when you cancel!!!! That is against the law in PA.Horrible service. Maybe an 80% pick up rate week to week. Customer service reps dont care and are dismissive. Adding insult to injury they just cut the number of our scheduled pick ups in half without reducing their rates.

Five reasons you should avoid Republic Services:1) They keep raising your monthly charges without notice. Keep an eye on your bill.2) Despite claiming to be reliable, they regularly miss trash and recycle pickups.3) If you are on Autopay, they will continue to charge your card after you cancel services, and they do not give you an option to discontinue the Autopay online. As a customer rep explained to me, apparently, their billing is not connected with their customer account department (how can a company run like this??).4) They refuse to pick up their own containers for weeks, but if you want to get rid of them yourself, they will charge you $75 per container.5) Their customer service reps have an attitude and prefer defending their sloppy and irresponsible drivers instead of helping you with a problem.Five reasons you should avoid Republic Services:1) They keep raising your monthly charges without notice. Horrible..... Solid waste container was damaged and after more than 10 requests it was finally picked up 1 month later... and after 4 more phone calls with different agents NO ONE KNOWS HOW OR WHEN TO GET ME A NEW CONTAINER WHICH I NEED ASAP. Why did I have to go through all of this to get the replacement.. By far the worst customer service ever... Cant wait to change them.

I was calling constantly for a new bin after they destroyed my old one and that was three years ago and to this day I still have my damaged bin that they never took after I canceld my service. The people who worked the trucks are very disrespectful and gave us the middle finger one time. They also missed up all the pickups we had scheduled
