We rented a room at kihei Akahi in Maui. We had issues with the cleanliness of the room and they were very unresponsive. Many of the room are quite nice at the condominium but ours was not. Dirty sheets and bed spread, room wasn’t cleaned before our arrival and we found bed bugs on the curtains. Been trying to resolve the issue and they don’t answer their phones and don’t seem to want to make it right. Room D215 is a dump.

The condo at Sugar beach was in need of cleaning and maintenance. For some odd reason they vent the dryer into the bathroom and they tell you to turn on fan when doing laundry. We arrived in the ground floor unit at 10 PM and opened sliding glass door to get some fresh air. Besides having trouble closing screen the locking mechanism did not work. We did our best to close it hoping no bugs would enter. Unfortunately bugs were the least of our worries. While we slept someone entered the unlatched door and stole our cash and other property totaling over $2000. When police came they informed us there was a homeless population that stayed on beach nearby at night. We notified Condominium Rentals of the incident. The agent we spoke to was very friendly and concerned. She called back and said they wanted to buy us dinner because of what happened. I said it was a nice gesture but I felt as though the screen not locking or closing was a factor. Obviously someone could still cut the screen if determined but less likely then just quickly opening a unlatched door. They did send a maintenance guy to fix but was unable to do it on first trip. I proposed them taking only $500 of the rent to help cover some of our loss. The agent said she would check with her boss and let us know. The next day she called and informed us not only the $500 was of the table her boss pulled the dinner offer and we would get nothing. Considering I paid 2500 for the week I did not think I was unreasonable. Especially when the property was not in best condition it could be and we just had what police called a home invasion not just a robbery. I would never rent a ground floor unit again or from a property managed by them. We never felt comfortable after that and moved to another Hotel. Unfortunately it cost us double because VRBO has no refunds and is paid in advance.

My wife and I stayed at the Kamaole Sands Resort just over 2 years ago. Key/info packet pickup was extremely easy. The next time we go to Maui, we will more than likely be booking a CRH site.

Wonderful! We have previously stayed at another condo and this was our first time at Hale Kamaole through CRH. My family had a wonderful time. Great kitchen, comfy beds and having a washer/dryer in the unit was a huge plus. We will be back and sharing with our friends are positive experience.

There was no mention that the condo hotel room at the Mana Kai would not be cleaned daily or that there would only be toiletry supplies for one day. Had I known I would have bought shampoo and soap from home.There was also no chair in the room, clearly nobody checked the room prior to renting it. Would not use them again. You dont know what you are getting.

Stayed in Kihei Akahi D601 - while the view was fantastic and location great, the condo itself was extremely dated and basic. Kitchen felt like it was outfitted from the dollar store and furnishings came from garage sales. It was clean enough but honestly, even though it was slightly cheaper than other units, we wouldnt stay there again.

First of all, my wife and I consider Maui our second home. We have been coming to the Sugar Beach Resort for some years now, and love it. That said, we wish that more was done for vacationers here by Condominium Rentals Hawaii, the company that books the room we desire when here. Coupons to Beach Bums in Maalea would be nice, as well as discounts too other restaurants and activities, etc. We did receive a welcoming gift from them, but a nice bottle of Maui wine would have been nice or a fruit basket; a little more shown to repeat guests would say a lot, especially given the fact that we received a fruit basket when going through Pleasant Holidays in the past. But, let me finish with this: We do not sweat the small stuff. We get the room we request, which happens to include the Maui horizon, the Maui surf, the Maui kindness, the Maui lifestyle--Mauis heart. It cant get any better than that!!!!!!!!!!

We came to Maui (staying in Sugar Beach Condos) with with our family of 4 and two sets of grandparents, we booked 6 months in advance asking if we could be close to each other, and that did not happen. We sent requests for rooms, after finding out you do not get to pick yours going through CRH, but you can send in suggestions that are not guaranteed. None of the three rooms were together and we were in a completely different building then the rest of our party (we were told they could not make it happen) which was ridiculous because they could have. We called the night before to see what rooms we got and they said “we are still moving stuff around” but I checked the rentals/time frames online and knew the room we would be getting. The first room was disgusting. It smelled like rotten breast milk which I assume was the white spot on the floor, the kitchen had not been cleaned as there were brown crusted spots to it, we pulled out sheets for the sofa bed and they were dirty, the coffee pot was very dirty, so we left after ten minutes of being in the room. We went out with our family and came back at night, I went to wash my face with a towel and wrapped inside of it was old, stinky, poop that I touched. I have the picture, it was absolutely disgusting, and once it was unwrapped you could smell it. We talked to CRH and we were told they would see what they could do. They said they would move us the next day so we had to do one night in the room. My husband slept on the sofa bed and it had broken springs in it. You could hear it all night long. When my kids got into the bath I had to clean mold off of the faucet. CRH called me the next day to let me know that we could move rooms, no apologies for the poop or the disgusting state of the room, so we moved. The second condo was obviously better then the old room but as the days passed we began to notice things in this room as well. There were booger’s, no joke, stuck to the walls, the bathtub plug was coming out of the wall and there are no words to describe what was back there, and the toilet (I have pictures), was absolutely filthy between the tank and the seat. I understand these are all older condos but this is unsanitary and gross. I have worked in hotels before and they got cleaned to the point you could eat off the floors. The furniture is outdated, old and broken. This company should have standards for rooms but it does not and I would hate for someone to go and have to deal with what we did. I would highly suggest going through a rental company that ensures the rooms are clean. This company should also take in consideration if it is a family with kids, no kids, etc. I will never use this company again no matter where we go.

We stayed at Mana Kai on Maui which was a really nice place.We rented through Airbnb with Condominium Rentals Hawaii (CRHMaui).It was the worst experience I have ever had with an agency. Very poor after sales and customer service.We actually never dealt with the agency until the problem came up. The ceiling in the bathroom collapsed.We were there with two babies and my partner almost got hit at her head. I immediately called the CRHMaui after hours person who couldnt care less and said hell do a report.The next morning I called the agency they had no clue or did not bother to read the report - so I went to speak with the building manager Doug about the ceiling and being suspicious that someone was in our condo without our prior consent.Doug is a very honest and helpful man. When I confronted him that someone was in our condo while we were gone he admitted they checked on a leak and informed the agency CRHMaui. The agency never bothered to call me. Secondly he also admitted that they were for more than 24h aware that there is a danger problem in our bathroom but felt since we are leaving in the next 36 hours not to say anything. He offered to reimburse me with 1 day of stay which he immediately did. I asked him if there was any dangerous materials to breath in that could come down from the ceiling thinking of our babies - he could not answer this.I then confronted the agency (Karen) with this and she was less than anything interested in helping me. I asked her to reimburse me 1 more day since Doug said they knew for more than 24h about this danger. She couldnt care less - was not reachable, never called back just texted me and simply said that she will not pay anything back.I explained to her that in other circumstances - and god forbid my partner would have been hurt when the ceiling came down - I would have insisted on a full refund. However, I asked for 1 more day as the stay overall was really nice prior to this incident.She refused to listen and refused to do anything about it.I am not used to such horrible service by agencies in Europe or the Bay Area. They should care to make their customers happy and SAFE. This was not the case at all. Do not book with them is my recommendation.

We used Condominium Rentals for our 10-day stay at the Mana Kai on our last visit to Maui. Everything was set up great and we loved our stay. The Mana Kai has amazing views and we loved listening to the ocean as we went to sleep and woke up in the morning. Highly recommended! :)

We have been coming to Sugarbeach Resort since 1988, and we always book through Condominium Rentals Hawaii, thanks to Didi for the many years of excellent bookings for our extended relatives and friends. Looking forward to being there again in three weeks tomorrow, Aloha!

Every time I visit Maui, I book my condos and car rentals through Condominium Rental Agency. I am very happy with my stay and the customer service I receive. We usually stay at the Kihei Akahi and absolutely love this place! Very clean and has everything you need! I will be back in November!!!

I was advised that when we arrive we will be met by a representative, instead when we called we were only given combinations to several locks on the unit, having never been to this condo I had no idea what the guy was describing and he did not meet us, we had to figure everything out ourselves. Then the cable was out in one of the bedrooms, i spent an hour on the phone with the local cable company and had to schedule a repair myself. Apparently this condo management company does not like to get any calls from renters. We called twice during our stay to ask them to switch the two mattresses because the main mattress was very soft and moves every time you turn over, they told me they didnt think they could do this, only when i mentioned i would state this in my review did they come and switch them. Of course, when they did, they left the fitted sheet off of one of the beds and it was never to be found again so we had to sleep on the bed with a flat sheet spread out that didnt fit. I also mentioned to them that i had gotten stuck in the master bathroom because the lock was broken. Let me say lastly that since they changed the mattress I tried to be honorable and not mention these issues so the condo owner would not be angry, but because i called about these issues they gave ME a negative review on VRBO. I took perfect care of the apartment and left it in cleaner condition then i found it. I guess they just want to get their commission from the owners and dont care to provide any customer service or management of the units

Stayed at Maui Kamaole this past July. The condos were lovely,but some really needed to be updated. The first Condo we stayed in the kitchen counter top was delaminating and the couch looked like it had years of suntan lotion and oil build up on it. This location is definately for older couples without children. The pool closes at 9 during the week during the summer and there is no noise, pool toys, & no music. NOT Kid friendly place at all. More like a retirement community. Will not stay here again.

Stayed in Kihei at the Akahi absolutely loved it. The condo had everything you needed was tastefully decorated fantastic view and nearby shops. Will book with Condominium Rentals Hawaii on my next trip.

We arrived Thursday at the Sugar Beach Resort and checked into room 316 with no issues. Friday we we’re told that we had to leave our room for an hour because of the Terminex Pest Control spraying every room at the resort. I thought this was odd, since I’m from Arizona, we spray every month for things like scorpions, black widows, and sun spiders and don’t have to leave our home. Anyway, we didn’t think too much of it, and went on with our trip. Saturday morning we started waking up with large, red, extremely painful bug bites on our legs and feet, and byMonday our legs were covered in them, along with some on our backs and arms, we even had bites on the bottom of our feet. I went to the front office and asked what they have been spraying for, and the incredibly rude lady at the front desk would not tell me anything, and tried to tell me the bug bites were mosquitoes. That night we sat at the Jacuzzi with several other guests, one of which was a local, and no one else had these bites. The local resident told us they were bed bugs or fleas after we showed him our legs. After not sleeping for another night and waking up with more bites, Tuesday morning I went to the front desk to have them move us to a different room. The same rude lady told me that they were going to send up a pest control guy to inspect the room, 3 hours later he arrived. He was not from Terminex, he was from a different local pest control company. He lazily looked around our room and told us the spray from Friday probably stirred up fleas and that was probably the issue. Yet, in the eyes of the front desk that was not a reason to move us to a different room. We were so tired from not sleeping, that after the pest control guy left at 2 p.m. we laid down for a nap. When we woke up, more fresh bites. At this point we had around 30 bites each on JUST our legs and more randomly on our backs, arms, elbows, and the bottoms of our feet. I had enough and started packing to stay at another place. I called the management office and gave them the option to move us or I was going to have my credit card company hold the payment. Their initial response was “the pest control guy confirmed is was not bed bugs and could be fleas.” So I am supposed to keep sleeping in a room with fleas and keep getting bitten? That apparently is acceptable to them. After having to be rude with the guy on the phone, they finally gave us a new room at 9 p.m., wasting our whole day. Not to mention, not having slept a descent night since Friday. They moved us to room 526, which was much nicer and cleaner than the previous room. Room 316 had dirty glassware, silverware that was COVERED in old nasty food, and plates with food still on them, it seems like the housecleaning crew doesn’t check or clean anything except maybe the towels and sheets. I went down to the office Wednesday morning to turn in the keys to the old room. When I gave the keys to the same rude lady and told her that management moved us, her response was a sigh and rolled her eyes at me, like we were idiots. It was like I had nothing better to do on my vacation than to complain about our room. After that we got to spend our last 3 days exhausted and irritated. I took pictures and documented our bites every day. This was our 3rd trip to Maui, it cost us $3,000 and it was the worst trip we have ever been on. I’m sure not all the rooms there have these issues, but I’m very upset on how the staff and management handled this. I should not have had to fight with them over simply moving us.
