We were so disappointed of this company, especially with the boat captain! This was the first trip in key west and our family expected to do a great snorkel trip around beautiful islands. We then decided to chose a private boat trip in order to get around the popular islands like key reef that we wanted to see colorful fishes and coral reef.We booked this trip with the agent at our Hyatt hotel beach club which we just knew later that we paid so much higher than the agents around the sunset square !! The problem was not really the high charging prices that we were upset if the trip was like the agent and the company promised!When I booked this trip for us, I did ask the hotels agent could we went to islands that we wanted to snorkel, he said the private boat we could customize it by telling the captain when we met him where we would like to go.But when we met that captain ( forgot his name, not sure was John, on duty on 7/3/21 morning) we told him about the islands that we would like to go, he even didnt want to listen, but immediately said he could go only the places in his program and claimed that the waves were too strong to go somewhere else!We told him the agent at the hotel told us to tell you where we would like to go, but he still didnt listen and started to talk about something else! I felt so unhappy of his unfriendly and felt like we were ripped off! And once we arrived at the island that he mentioned, name Archer key, there were no any strong waves! It was a beautiful sunny day, there were only small waves. I told him that i didnt see any strong waves that he claimed for, and what made us disappointed more was when we snorkeled, under the water was so unpleasant, so shallow, we saw more of broken small corals, sand and just a few tiny fishes!! I did a scuba dive for many years and many countries, I had experiences what the strong waves were, he just a liar!! We finished the snorkel very fast as there was nothing interesting to see! Then he headed for the dauphins watching, he stopped in the middle of nowhere, waiting for even not 10 minutes, then he started the boat toward a small narrow beach where he let us to do whatever we wanted with the time frame of a 30minutes. And then he headed the boat back, voila the trip was done after a few ugly places that he brought us to see!We wasted our time and money with very bad experiences of this captain and this company!! I felt so bad for my family who should have seen more beautiful things from this trip! Beware when you want to book a trip with this company, confirm well all details and places with them before paying!! We wont recommend it! We would love to give a zero star if we can! West family.

We booked a 2-hr jet-ski tour around the island! Wow! What a great time!! The tour guide was great and the excursion itself was wonderful. Highly recommend! Jet skis were nice and no issues. 20-30 min free time was great. Tour guide def riding way too fast for some, we were told we had to be at full throttle to make the 2 hour tour and back, and It seems we really did have to be at almost full throttle. We lost several of our group because they were too afraid of the expected speed, not ok. Should be different tours offered for beginners especially since no refund is offered. Ive rented many jet skis on vacation and didn’t require to tip someone after spending $300+ Was very awkward, who carries cash in the water…

If I were to pick one thing that made the tour great it is the guides. They were enthusiastic, helpful and patient especially with some (teens) in the group who were on jet skis for the first time. Went on the last tour of the day and the only issue was that there was a slight delay (30 minutes). But the tour more than made up for it with stops at some historic/interesting points around the Key West. It was a hot day but cool on water. Overall it was great fun!

Amazing experience! It is so beautiful on the water, please do a jet ski tour at Barefoot Billys when you come to Key West! Jordan and Dakota were our guides and they were excellent. I highly recommend doing a jet ski tour.

We had a blast on our jet ski tour. The guides were fantastic and the trip was as expected. We would do it again. We’ve also rented mopeds from here and no issues with that either. Overall, pleased with the service.

Did a jet ski trip around the island and the trip itself was a ton of fun. Made a few informational stops on the trip, which I really liked. Personally, I would have liked more stops and more opportunities to learn about the Keys and their history. Had about a 30 min free play time where you could swim or jet ski around which was also nice. We had one person who was very scared and slow on her ski and the leader was very accommodating. My biggest complaint is that the price was high and there was still a lot of begging for tips. They suggested a 20% tip which seems outrageous given the already high price of the trip. They were very insistent about the tip and basically would not let you leave until you had tipped (and their credit card machine was down so they wanted you to walk with them to a hotel to get cash from an ATM). This made you feel very uncomfortable. They should just pay their staff enough so they dont have to beg for tips.

Ok, there was a boat, beer and sushi but none of it really met what was expected from the description. They packed 30 people on the boat, barely enough room to sit and the seating is not at all comfortable. The sushi was delivered to the boat at 5pm by van, it was not put on ice or any kind of cooling but just left to sit in the heat...it definitely did not taste that great. For the premium beer was Michelin ultra, bud, bud light and stella. The other hors doeuvres on hand were some slived baguettes, some meat slices (also left out in the heat) and several cheese which had warmed enough that they were spreadable.We saw the 5pm sushi delivery because we got there at 5pm as instructed for a 530pm departure. They loaded us onto the boat at 530 but then kept waiting as more people kept arriving by the same van that brought the sushi. We didnt depart until after 6pm.So yes, they technically did meet the wording of their description. However all of the food offered raised questions as to safety with most of it meeting ir missing the bare minimums of what was expected.***update after owner reply. I was of the understanding that the sushi cones from Thai Island and I have no reason to doubt their quality. However, in the day of our cruise Thai Island was closed and we were initially told there would be no sushi. A fee minuted later we witnessed the sushi being brought out of the white van normally used to transport passengers. While I dont know where it came from it was definitely more than 100 yards away.

My husband and I decided to do a private jet ski tour to allow room for him to indulge his need for adrenaline. We were picked up at our hotel by their shuttlewhich was helpful because we were sure where we were going. All of the staff were wonderful and the jet skis were quality machines. Our private tour guide, Chris, was patient and encouraging. He allowed me to sit with him while my husband got to get the adrenaline rush out of his system. The private tour allowed us to do what we wanted while, also, providing information about the island and its history. It was the perfect way to spend our afternoon. Would definitely recommend!

This was my first time jet skiing and I can honestly say that it was awesome. I have never been scared and so excited at the same time. The two jet ski tour guides were great. They showed us around the island and pointed out some key landmarks. They allowed 20 mins to do our own thing with the jet ski. The $150 was well worth it. It was 2 hrs of fun. I would definitely do it again. Remember to tip the tour guides, they deserve it.

We booked a 2 hour group jet ski tour around Key West and had a wonderful afternoon. Dave was our tour guide and was extremely helpful. He also provided interesting information and stories about the area during brief breaks. It’s an awesome way to see Key West and experience some time out on the water. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I took the jet ski tour with Cory and Nick as our guides. The trip around the island was awesome, both guides were constantly watching out for us newbies. There were a few stops around the trip to point out some nice locations in Key West like Sunset Key. About half way around we had a little time to enjoy the jet skis in the calm, shallow gulf waters, on the return trip we had a nice view provided by the US Navy pilots landing Hornets at the local Naval Air Station. We had one rider fall off but the rear guide gave them a hand and made sure everyone was OK. The Atlantic side gave us some rougher waters but with the guides watching out for us everything was fine. I would definitely recommend this tour, and the next time we come out here well be taking the tour once again.

First jet ski experience and the guys were all amazing. I believe our guides were Cory, Juan, & Mark and they were fantastic!!! I HIGHLY recommend this place. It was worth every penny! Definitely will be going here again. 🙂

The staff is incredible! We did the sunset sail and the dolphin/snorkel trip. They’re attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! Captain Tony and First Mate Erika were amazing. We loved it and will definitely use them on any Key West trips! We saw multiple dolphin pods, sea turtles, and the most gorgeous sunset. Go with them and you will be happy you did!

Milo was awesome! Tour was expensive but totally worth it. Some people complain about tipping, but you would tip in any other hospitality situation. It was fun and we got to see parts of the Keys we normally wouldnt have seen.

My family and I have traveled to the Keys annually for the last 10 years.Each year a fixture of our vacation is a day on the water, jetskiing with Mike and his guides at Barefoot Billys. Weve taken other jetski tours in Key West and Barefoot Billys is the best, hands down. Your tour guides take you around the entire island on a guided multi-stop tour, venturing through the Atlantic and the Gulf. There is a lengthy stop on the Gulf side of the tour where youre given a huge space and lots of free time to enjoy the jetskis on your own and even swim if youd like. The group does travel together, but the pace is entirely your own; even in large groups there are thrill seekers and casual riders alike. We enjoy the Casa Marina location with its beautiful facilities. Pricing is comparable to other operators but Mike and crew really do give a great personal touch to your experience. Highly recommend to those who want to see Key West from the water and enjoy jetskiing.

Overall very good time. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Skis were nice as can be expected for highly used equipment. If this is your first time on a Ski, youll have a blast! Mike and Cory were fantastic humans! The route was fun with pretty cool facts about the surrounding area. Definately better than renting a ski for a few hours and riding solo.. Its always fun riding in a group.

The staff do a great job of caring for their patrons. We took a group on the sunset cruise. Enjoyed some incredible locally-prepared sushi with all-you-can-drink beer and wine, or water, which is what I consumed. 😊

Had a great tour around key west with these guys. Absolutely beautiful views and crystal clear water. The employees are awesome. Its like they are part of your group by the time you get back. Philly Tom was our guide and does a great job. I highly recommend this! The rest of the crew Austin, Troy, and Mike will take care of any needs or concerns you have before or after the trip and make it a breeze.

We went on a jet ski tour and the sunset cruise and both tours were great! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and the experiences were worth the money for sure. The only issue we had was with the jet ski tour, it started later than planned (by 15 minutes) not the fault of Barefoots service but with customers not being punctual. The gentleman who ran the photos was a great touch and even offered to get our picture on the beach at the end of the trip at no extra charge. I definitely recommend this!

Barefoot Billy’s was the best part of our stay in Key West. Between our fabulous jet ski tour around the island, and the half day private charter (with the amazing Captain Riyaan (sp?)) we couldn’t be happier. Great tours and amazing staff mean we’ll be back again!!

This was awesome, easily the highlight of our trip. I can not explain how much this exceeded our expectations, which were sky-high to begin with. 2 hrs on wave runners most of it running full speed. The guides stopped a couple of times to talk about local history, I didnt pay any attention to that but other people seemed genuinely interested so he must have done a good job. It was definitely worth riding solo instead of double. Did I mention the tour was over 20 miles:), 20 miles, thank-you barefoot billie. Also I am 57, dont let age worry you, just do this

Went on the jet ski tour this afternoon around the island. What an awesome time. The guides were friendly and relaxed but also kept everyone safe. There were 12 jet skis in our tour- if you were experienced and wanted to go fast you could go with the front group, or if you were new, you could stroll along towards the end. It seemed like they accommodated the newer/less comfortable folks well. This was my first time on a jet ski but I quickly felt comfortable so I moved towards the front of the group. There were four or five stops around the island where we took a break and the guides talked about landmarks, which was cool. You also get to spend 20-30 minutes in a secluded area on the Gulf side where you’re allowed to do whatever you want (within reason) on the jetski or take a brief swim, etc. This was a great experience that I’d definitely recommend as part of your Key West trip even if you’re new to jet skis, as long as you’re comfortable operating power sports equipment and being on the water. Note that if you were born after 1988 you have to pass a 25 question test for the state of FL, it’s $3 and you can take it online in advance.

First and foremost, I very seldom write reviews but I could not resist in this case. I have been visiting Key West for several years and have never taken a Jet Ski tour of the Island. I have traveled to many exotic places around the globe and rented jet skis in many beautiful places. Barefoot Billys is by far the best tour I have experienced and I will cherish this memory for a lifetime. His team is extremely friendly, professional and very safe in times of Covid. The Skis are very new and in great condition. They truly made this experience a memorable one for me as I travel every other month to Key West. I cant wait to return and take this tour once more, thank you to all the staff at Barefoot Billys... trust me when I tell you, dont think about it... just book it and you will not regret it... you will have an unforgettable experience that you will cherish for a lifetime!

Only great things to say about our experience on this tour! If youre looking for an adventure, this is it. If you are nervous jet skiing on some choppy water with waves, this may not be for you. Really neat way to see the island from the water, and experience the difference in the Gulf waters compared to the Caribbean. Mike was our guide, and he made our experience very fun, light-hearted and informative. We also had time to jump off the jet skis and stand on the sandbar which was pretty cool! Highly recommend this tour!

We took the 3.5 hour dolphin sighting and snorkeling tour and it was AMAZING!!! We spent some time cruising around Dolphins Playground and finally spotted a pod of around ten dolphins with a couple babies! Our captain circled around them and they swam up close to our boat. After we went to an isolated spot where we parked and got our equipment to snorkel. Everything was sanitized and very clean. We ended up spotting a huge sea turtle and got to swim right along with it! After snorkeling we were given adult beverages and cruised back to the dock. Both the captain and second mate were amazing hosts and we had a blast! Would recommend to anyone and will visit again when we come back!!

Me and my wife stayed at the Beachside Marriott Resort, so we decided to take advantage of the amenities on the property. We originally wanted to do the bike on the water but when one of the guys was giving us instructions on how to use it neither of the bikes worked. On one of the bikes the chain was really rusty he tried spraying WD-40 on it but chain kept slipping. So I decided to do kayaking and my wife was going to get on the other bike, but she said it was to hard to steer so that bike was messed up. So he gave a another choice and said that he can give us a extra hour on the water and kept apologizing, we wasn’t upset about it because safety is first. We chose to do kayaking, now this is my fist time doing it, and the only directions he gave me was if you want to go left paddle right, and if you want to go right paddle left and that was it. So I’m like ok I got this I started to paddle and got confused and ended up in the bushes in the water lol. He came and got me and I asked him about instructions again and he said the same thing. He never told me how to turn it around, how to back up or that we need to paddle at the same time nothing. Next thing you know him and another guy that works there just took off on the jet skis because it was a group tour. So we were left to figure it out on our own, I was like dam he didn’t even come back to check on us, so if you book an activity with this company make sure that you have complete instructions given to you especially if it’s your first time.

Booked this last minute. I was a little apprehensive to go on a “tour” but he a good time. Dakota was our guide. He wasn’t a helicopter guide - he let you have fun. He was also knowledgeable about the area and advised us where not to go because of rocks etc. Megan and Dakota!!! Thumbs up. Thanks for a good ride.

We did the 4 p.m. sunset excursion with 6 of us & it was amazing!!! I would highly recommend doing this & doing it at sunset on a clear night. We took a 33 mile tour around the entire island in about 2 hours on a BEAUTIFUL night and had a blast. I wish I had had my cell phone, go pro or camera with us to capture the views & sunset. We were able to freestyle jet ski on the calm side of the island for about 20 minutes and saw a dolphin which we followed for about 10 minutes. My son even tried to swim with the dolphin but he was too fast. I would highly recommend the experience. We did pay extra for some photos and wish they had taken photos of us on the tour (& the sunset views) but they did get some photos of our group before we got on the jet skis & just after we got on but just in the small cove before we headed out on the excursion.

Just amazing. Went on the tour this morning in rough conditions . The guide took control of all elements and gave us an adventure to remeber for ever. Very cool beach at the Casa Marina too and the beach attendants were very helpful. The pictures they created of our trip was done in a very professional manner a souvenir that means allot to us. Took the sunset tour and it was amazing the crew is friendly and very knowledgable of the local area. While the weather made it impossible to see the sunset due to cloud cover we still had a great time. I will certainly book with them again.

Really fun time! Knowing where to go and what to do when we got there was a little chaotic. The guides were running around collecting money and paperwork and seemed really stressed out (which stressed us out too!)They take you on a tour around the whole island which was what appealed to me about this. It was my first time jet skiing and they did a nice job of letting you go at whatever pace you were comfortable with. They also gave us some free time where we could bomb around in this one area. All in all, it seemed like a good length of time. I could have stayed out longer but also was satisfied and ready to go in.One negative I thought was that the group size was quite large. There was about a dozen of us which made things a bit chaotic and we didnt get a lot of personal attention or advice from the guides. At the same time, they explicitly asked for us to give the guides at least a 20% tip, which I thought was a little tacky.Side note: Make sure if youre under 30 and dont have a boating license you show up at least half an hour early. You have to take a 25 question test. Its open book, but it takes a lot of concentration to flip through the study guide hunting for answers to whats basically a drivers education type test. You have to get an 80% to pass. I only had about 15 mins to do it and it was not fun!

The staff is super dope the jet ski tour, the sunset cruise, the snorkeling trip and dolphin tour. All well well well worth the time and money.

Once we arrived- seemed like everyone was all over the place. No real directions. We started late, but there was no communication as to when we would get started. Started about 15 minutes late. Once the tour began, I realized there were 2 individuals that drove extremely erratic. I even heard a guide say- “keep her away from everyone” to the other guide. I’m glad they knew to do that. It appeared to me that these 2 were either drunk or on something. I stayed away from them; but was in constant worry that they would do something that would put them or someone else in danger. The staff did a good job of keeping them away from others. One of the ladies toppled over backwards off her jet ski while she was sitting still. Seriously, like slow motion. And the next thing I know she was straddling one of the guides on his jet ski. They either knew each other extremely well, or they were getting to know each other extremely well. Pretty sure they kissed. One of the ladies kept yelling and interrupting while a guide was trying to tell us some information about the island. I honestly would have been ok if this was the end of it. Upon returning, a staff member asked me how it was. And I said great, minus the 2 ladies that drove crazy. He then tells me how they’re locals and they know them. I asked if they were drunk or something. And he said, no they’re just like that. Whatever that means. All I know is it seemed like they knew them, and if they knew they would act and drive that way; why would they let them on a tour with a huge group of people? I feel this was irresponsible on their part. And pretty darn unprofessional.

They took great care of us everything was on time. Even gave us a few extra minutes kids were having a great time. Jet skis were in good condition and worked well no issues. My teenager enjoyed it a lot, very good speed on the jet skis

Ok. Went on dolphin and snorkeling tour. Obvious tension between boat captain and snorkel guide. Not a real welcoming atmosphere. Spent a lot of time just speeding across open water. 15 - 20 minutes watching a pod of dolphins in the shallows. About 30 minutes snorkeling on the reef.When I read “gentle backcountry waters”, and “deserted islands” on the website, I was imagining mangroves full of interesting wildlife.But it was ok. I appreciated the large covered area on the boat that provided nice shade. The day was beautiful. The reef had some nice sea life, though the water was a little murky.I enjoyed it regardless.

Showed up last minute and accommodated me like I had a reservation. Professional service/tour start to finish. Great time, will do it again...highly recommend.

We had a GREAT time today on the jet ski tour! Everyone we encountered, from the shuttle driver, staff at the counter and our guides...all excellent!I had never operated a jet ski before and was a little nervous, but they made me feel very comfortable.I want to go again!

Had a great time kayaking! We will definitely do it again. Just wish communication about launch change would have been done sooner than 15 minutes before our trip time.

This by far was our best experience in Key West. They pick you up so you save money for a cab or uber. The food and drink were superb. The crew was friendly and informative. Best money spent. Sushi was fresh and delicious. We stayed on the island and decided to not used the concierge service provided and were glad we did. Only suggestion is dont go to the south end of the island to sign paperwork, just do it at the boat. For what they charge you may pay more to go out to drink and eat, plus you get a sunset boat ride. Well worth the money. Bring money to tip because I dont understand how they can provide so much for such little cost.

Our time out on the jet ski was a highlight of the trip. First off - I sucked at jet skiing in the ocean. I’d driven a jet ski before but in a lake probably ten years ago. The water was a little choppy and it totally intimated me. The group we were with took off but one of the instructors let us do our thing but would come back to give pointers and make sure we were headed the right way. They were incredibly patient and made this whole experience very awesome. Totally recommend if you’re feeling you’re down there or just want a great time away from the island.

Did the sunset cruise with Captain Tony & Paula and it was awesome. Good snacks, great beverage service and narration of the area. Over years dine several others and while this only smaller boat, liked it the most.
