Master Lisette and her team have great patience with kids, and teaches self respect, and respect of others. Those are concepts ñ not easy to teach kids and I appreciate having someone of trust reinforcing those values to my kids.
Super nice instructors! It has a very inviting environment and they teach great values to their students.
My son has been involved with this school for about a year now and absolutely loves it. Master Lisethe and Master Martinez are attentive and show so much passion for taekwondo that gets passed on to the students. They teach discipline and skill while in a fun setting that encourages students enjoy what they are learning. Everyone learns at a pace that is comfortable to them and arent just going through the belts.
My children have attended the school for over two years now and absolutely love Taekwondo class. The staff is professional, attentive and caring. They take an interest in every student and curate the experience as best as possible. The lessons my children have learned from being part of this school spill over to their daily life. They recall Master Liseths words to try their best at school work, listen to their parents and give their best effort in all things. The families all cheer for each others kids and there is an atmosphere of support within the school. The school as a whole has done a great job of modifying to keep kids safe during this pandemic. They offer a wide range of opportunities to practice taekwondo being at home online or in class practicing safety protocols. The online classes kept us active and sane during quarantine!
Extremely and highly disappointed!! My son unfortunately has ADD but showed high interest in signing up for taekwondo. Since we were familiar with this location we decided to come by and try it out. We were told by one of the owners there was a free trial week. Because we are not so closely located and being a single mother of 4 children is very hard to be able to bring him consecutively the entire week but was able to bring him a total of about 4 times to make sure he likes it. After much talk and confirmation and running a tad bit late I dropped him and ran to the bank to take out what wouldve been the payment for the 6 month special they have only to receive a call from my son stating they did not let him participate in class because of no payment! Really!!??? You see a kid just sitting there with the intentions to participate and tell him no because you havent paid? I wouldve at least expected a call to tell me hey your son cant do anything as oppose to just letting him sit there doing nothing and maybe confirm saying hey your trial is up. This was completely unprofessional and ridiculous. Good luck on continuing conducting business like this! Definitely worth looking somewhere else to take our business. Dont try to copy and paste the same responses in your prior negative reviews stating you think this comment may have been intended for another taekwondo. NO, this is especially intended at your location in Keller at Blue Sky with Lisethe the owner.
My kids have been training in this school for almost 3 years. They thoroughly enjoy their training. I feel the instructors take genuine interest in each individual student, encouraging them to do their best. Later I joined them to improve my fitness and its been a great experience. Master Lisethe and other instructors have been very focused on teaching us the importance of marital arts. She reminds us often that its not always about ones physical strength, but respect, discipline, perseverance and compassion too. Brio had helped our family to have fun while getting fit. During this COVID pandemic, she has been very understanding and innovative to keep our training going.
Amazing Dojang to learn Taekwondo skills under a supervision of great Master. This school provides a great family environment and at the same time gives an opportunity to excel in learning the art of Taekwondo. My family goes this school and we are completely satisfied with the Taekwondo instructions and many classes/programs they take to improve the physical fitness. When you are new to this school, there will many instructors who help you adjust to this new skill and help you to achieve your fitness/skill goals. My son loves to go to his Taekwondo classes and this school is helping him grow strong mentally and physically.HIGHLY RECOMMEND this school for Taekwondo!!
Being on the other end of the business, I get to see the intricacies and details of Brio Taekwondo, and I can truly appreciate the effort my mom puts into this studio. Having to come up with different lessons every day of the week is grueling, and my mom has been able to do so for the past ten years. Not only that, but as Ive crafted a high school project on Brio, Ive gotten to see the improvements we make in every event such as the Summer Camp and the Parents Night Out, and I love that Brio is always open to improvement and strives to better itself as a business and as a community. Being on this side of the business, I get to see the moral dilemmas Brio Taekwondo encounters, and how theres never a right answer to issues that will satisfy everyone, so I really appreciate the the thoughtfulness my mom puts into trying to make the best decision in the interest of not only the business, but her clients.
It all started with my son dreaming of being a ninja. I enrolled him at age 4, he loved it! So his sister also asked to join. They were running a family special at the time, so all three of us joined. We love it! Both kids always look forward to class and get excited about their accomplishments and have a desire to learn more . They look up the great talented staff and have made a lot of great friends. Respect and resilience is a major part of the practice of martial arts and it’s reinforced here by Master Liseth.
My son attended BRIO for the last 5 years since he was 6 years old. He is a proud Black Belt martial art student. This school has taught him many life valuable experience to build a strong character both inside and outside Dojang. Self confidence, maturity, respect just to name a few characteristic you will come to master here. Of course, the credit goes to all the instructors and mentors at this school.
The people who run this taekwondo school are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! The instructors and people who help out in the classes have so much experience and wisdom to embark on their students. The establishment does such a wonderful job of making sure their students are learning and have support. Truly a wonderful place.
Amazing Dojang/school to Learn Taekwondo and to improve your physical fitness.I would highly recommend this school. Master at this school always tries to bring the best out of all her students and always try to motivate students to give the best at school, home and in the society. Master leads by example and inspires her students to give their best at Taekwondo and pushes her students to give their best to improve their physical fitness/health.
This school has some very good instructors that pay attention to detail when it comesto forms/techniques. We had the unique opportunity to train as a family and get to our black belts. It is an experience and requires commitment not only from instructors but also from students. My best wishes to those who plan to take on this journey at this dojang.
Wonderful place to learn taekwando in that area...they are compassionate people.. our whole family learnt there but had to stop because of relocation... highly recommended them
As a student this teacher was only focused in her competition team. I came from another school with great teachers and I definitely saw a difference. I don’t recommend this school at all. Low standard of teaching for the average students
Brio Taekwondo is a unique martial art school, it offers Olympic style Taekwondo training with weapons and self defense classes in a fun, family friendly environment, a great place for the entire family to practice TKD, conditioning and gain self-confident together.
This School does not care for the learning students. In my previous school the Masters pair up students in close levels to combat. This school uses new students as punching bags for her competition team. One time I ended bleeding as the master pairs me up with a student who competed and was way ahead of me. This master did not care to teach or motivate students.I HEATED GOING to this school
My family and I have been attending Brio Taekwondo for 3 years. Over and over I am impressed by Master Lisethe Salcidos commitment to her students from the four-year-old little dragons to the black belts. She has created a family-friendly school that trains hard and is supportive of everyone wherever they are in their martial arts journey. She is a highly decorated Taekwondo athlete and has won competitions numerous times at the national and international levels. As with any endeavor, you will get out of it what you put into it.
Awesome school, my nephew goes there and he always has a great time!
I’m highly disappointed in this place! I’m displeased with the lack of effort put in by the instructor. My cousins were very involved in martial arts but this place has ruined the idea for them since they have moved! I do not recommend this place to anyone! I would have put no stars but there was no option to.
Master Lisethe Salcido (5th degree black belt) and her team of instructors, ranging from 4th degree to 1st degree, are experienced, professional, caring and fun instructors at Brio TKD. Master Lisethe, as an international and national gold medal athlete and coach in TKD, has vast knowledge in the sport and shares it freely and inventively. In addition, her background in psychology brings an added dimension to the rigors of sports training for her competition teams. And it pays off; they are Winners. This family environment brings parents and children together, bonding in positive ways while they learn this empowering martial art. She is a loving and devoted master, really living the Way of this Path. All her instructors are family people, kind and caring, giving of themselves generously. I highly recommend this school. There is no better in North Texas. They live the tenets of Taekwondo: Respect, Self Control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, Integrity.
This a school that does not care for their students. If you go or dont go, the teacher does nit care. In my previous achool out of state, I had a great Master, he motivated us to be better trained with us and I know it is a business, but there has to be a level of care and teaching, not just for the competition team. The first thing this mast made us do is buy gear to compete and pushed everyone to compete. That is all the focus they have
Our daughter has been at this dojang since 2016. She loves it. She has learned the value of building great friendships and relationships, has become a better listener and is very healthy child, physically and mentally. I see how the instructors inspire students through their own experiences and the experiences of the students themselves. They empower all students to own their goals and growth, and coach them to reach them. Finally, she loves her time at Brio. Thank you Masters Salcido and Martinez!
My son has been enjoying his time at Chang Lee Taekwondo Keller and always looks forward to his weekly classes. The class is very engaging, interactive, and age appropriate. The instructor is very friendly, patient, and structured. Everyone is very helpful, no complaints!
I have been in Martial Arts and just moved to the DFW area. It was offensive to see how these people exploit the art. As it was mentioned before, the manager is more focused in his movies (next time I will take a picture of him) and the Master only talks about her competition team. I did not see seriousness in the classes and they were trying to push me to sign up a contract. Dont fall for these people !!!!! Martial Arts is a beautiful discipline but it has to be with the right people. Too bad there is no zero for rating.
My wife and kids attend this school and are always excited to attend. I know my boys and wife think highly of Master Lisethe and the training they receive is top notch!
Three of my four kids and myself have been attending Brio Taekwondo for 9 months and we could not be happier with the training we receive! Master Lisethes experience is what initially caught my attention. Master Lisethe truly cares about each student and takes the time to build each student up mentally and physically!
Don’t get involved with company. They don’t motivate kids to learn. The master is only focused in her competing team, the rest are there to pay for her rent. That is why she does not have a good number of students. They make you sign contracts and I if you move or financia situación changes, they will prosecute you through collection companies and hurt your credit
I have been involved in Taekwondo for many years. I looked at several schools in the area and they are all good. What caught my attention was the experience and teaching methods used. Master Lisethe helps all her students set goals and help them achieve them. As I wrote I have trained many years and under several Masters and they are all good in their own way. If a student wants to compete Mater Lisethe will assist them and If not she does not push them to do so. Master spends as much time and in some cases more class time with the non competitive students. If you are looking for a great school to learn Taekwondo at what ever level, I would encourage you to check out Master Lisethes program as you will be pleasantly surprised.
Im glad someone is finally speaking up. The male instructor is always on his cell phone on Facebook or watching videos. I know because one time he was leaning against the 2-way mirror and I looked to see what he was doing. He was the only instructor that day. He just tells the kids to do drills while he is glued to the phone. This happens every day that he teaches. The female instructor is good when she is there, but she is rarely there when its competition times. Then it feels like my kid is just going to daycare. They are not upfront about all the costs. Membership fee is reasonable but the belt tests, competition fees, coaches fees, and gears are expensive and add up. They are not happy if the kid does not go to competition and will withhold belt test if the kid does not participate. Beware and ask first. I pulled my kid out because of too many injuries from kids that are kicking wrong (too tall or too short and different level belt). I dont care about competition I just want my kid to learn how to defend himself against bullies. I thought this was a good school because everyone is friendly, but later it feels like its about the money. Quantity instead of quality. There are kids that do very bad in belt tests and I wonder why they are belt testing. It is so embarrassing I am afraid to post on Facebook anh video. They cancel classes because of holidays... sometimes a whole week, but they still take money for the whole month. And the instructor favors the competition team... who pays more.
This school only cares of you making your monthly payments. They will go around their name to charge your bank accounts even after telling them not to charge it. DONT SIGN ANY CONTRACT with them. They will go after your credit to force you to pay even when you are not happy with their performance. TERRIBLE SCHOOL AND TERRIBLE PRACTICES
We enrolled our grandson, it really helped him develope skills that he needed, the instructors worked very well with him and we are thankful for them. Wished we could find another place now that we have moved that is to the standards that we had there.
This is the best place to join for Taekwondo... Masters are great...
The reason I am rating this school with one star is because Google Reviews will not let me give you zero stars. This is a bad taekwondo school. It is more of an overpriced daycare than a Taekwondo School. Dont bother responding to this comment because I know that all you are doing is copy and pasting the same response to everyone that does not support your school on this site.
It´s been a great experience to join this school, high performance program for athletes in a safe and family environment. Great instructors.
We have been able to create a safe, healthy, fun family environment thanks to all our students and their families. It has been a wonderful experinece.
Great program, have two of my kids enrolled in this academy, we love the instructors and we can see their passion and love for martial arts.
My family goes there and it is a family invoroment and all of them love u and treat unlike a 2 family
Great place 💜
