It was a pretty penny (timing chain, heads), but my car runs great and they got it done ahead of schedule. Hard to find an honest mechanic, these guys were great.

Everyone at Tunex is super helpful and knowledgeable! Cheryl, at the front desk, is great, and Steve and Jay really know their automotive business. They do quality work at a fair price! Always appreciated!

Weve been very happy with the service that Steve at the Kearns Tunex has given us, and (fortunately/unfortunately) will be going back again now. Our car just died on us on our way home from vacation, but we trust Steve to get us up and running as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

Both times Ive been here, the service has been fast and friendly.The first time I went into this place was to get my starter replaced. They finished the job a day faster than promised.The second time I went in to get a headlight bulb changed because I was having trouble getting the bulb out myself. They were able to do it in less than five minutes and didnt even charge me for the time.Highly recommended.

I had a problem with my truck not starting. I replaced a started, a battery, cleaned the cable ends and... Nothin! Frustrating.I left the truck after hours with Steve Sprague at Tunex and dropped the keys in the drop box.Next morning at 10, I get a call from Steve. He asked the problem, gave me an idea of a solution with an estimate and that he would call back. Sure enough, a couple hours later it was fixed and done, at a reasonable price. This review is for the Tunex at 5313 S., 4015 West, Kearns, Utah. We have been using this Tunex for at least 10 years. We started out slowly, only using them for inspections but eventually have had them do major work on our cars. They have always treated us well and we have been very satisfied with their work and price. I especially appreciate being able to talk with Steve Sprague, the owner, when I go in. That is very valuable. I have worked on my own cars for years and understand most of what he is saying. They never try to up-sell us like other shops. After years of going there I must say I trust them to do honest work at an honest price. If anything Steve is too honest. He doesnt sugar coat things to try to get your business.Recently I took a car to him that I was considering buying. I was blown away by the things that he was able to find that I would never have discovered. That was impressive. The car was only one year old and one of the things that he discovered was that it had been painted on one side. He had other things to point out that I would have missed. I still bought the car but at least I knew what I was getting into.

Took my car and minivan to the Kearns Tunex for emissions and safety inspections. The owner was very nice; they stayed late to take care of the inspections. Even though they told us it would take awhile, he still apologized for the wait and thanked us for our patience. I was the one who was grateful they would work late on a Saturday! Great service!

Im sure once the Auto insurance company found out about that the y wouldnt have covered it! Steve is a customer service maniac. He is so good that he is almost always backed up because he has so many customers. Be sure to call ahead before going in to be sure they can accommodate you. I knew Steve and this Tunex was a winner when my wife went in with our new baby and he offered to give her a ride home so she didnt have to wait while they worked on the car. Again... he offered to take her home. We never asked. Steve really cares about his customers.

We brought our car in because our A/C wasnt working correctly. After a few days they gave us a quote of about $400. We decided we didnt want to spend that much so we took our car back. I went a couple of days later to get a written diagnostic so that we could fix it ourselves. They couldnt find it so they offered to do another one for free. This time they quoted us at $200. Sketchy... We ended up bringing our car to another shop that fixed everything for just under $100. The sad part is, if we were willing to have them fix it the first go around we would have been out almost $300.

Went to these guys for safety/IM... Not only was I in and out within 15min, but they have coupons for even cheaper safety/IM!!! Great service, friendly people.
