Replace my car battery, with the kindly help from Jojo, I decided to go chose AGM battery with is best for my car with 4 years warranty. Unfortunately, there is only 1 AGM battery left at this store, and when installed, it was infected; so she actively asked other staff go to another store to get another AGM battery. The Staff is always nice, and they all communicate well. As far as Pricing its what you can expect from a major chain. Far, but not the cheapest. Overall Ive been going hear for years, and I will continue to do so.

Pepboys in Katy on S. Fry road is awesome! Very friendly and helpful people. They even called me back after I left from having an alignment done, to see if I wanted them to go ahead and schedule my next appointment for my struts that we had spoke about earlier that day. Ive been very impressed every time Ive been in there. Love this place!

Bad experience twice. First time they told me my breaks and a shock had worn out and gave me $2.5k estimate. When I went to the vw dealership, they said they are both fine. 2nd time they charged me $30 more than dealership just to do the diagnosis. Never going back

Wasted my time on first visit while my car sat there untouched without even a phone call to let me know they didn’t have an oil filter for my make and model. Second visit post service report detailed they rotated tires as was requested, however a familiar mark on the front right tire pre&post service tells a different story. They lack communication and honesty, will not be going back!

This is my second and final time patronizing this business. They are overall unprofessional and unorganized. In June 2020, I had my oil changed and it took about two hours total. I left my car there for about an hour, came back and then seemed to get the motivation to start on it after I said I have another appointment to get to. They gave me a smalldiscount for my trouble.Fast forward to now. I initially said I wouldn’t come back here because of the wait time, but when I tried to take it somewhere else, they said they couldn’t remove the cap without breaking it because it wasn’t attached correctly. So I take it back to the exact same location as before. I make an appointment this time, thinking that it would be a bit quicker. Nope. Still an hour and a half. They also informed me about 2 nails in one of my tires, which was not at all what I came for. After all this, I received another small discount for my trouble. I really hope everything was done correctly this time because I won’t be back to this place.

This place is awesome. Salvador R mounted and balanced a set of wheels and tires purchased via the internet. I did not even know they were radial until I picked them up. Salvador did everything perfect (no scratches especially) and made sure I put them on the correct side. I will always remember this. Thanks.

Trouble experience I went In There for a oil change and tire rotation got there waited an hour for they to come back to me and tell me sorry the guy that does the oil change might not be coming in today even doe there are 5 people staying around doing nothing

This place is a joke. Tried to charge me for 4 tires when they only replaced 2, paid for State Inspection and told me car was ready, yet no state inspection pass record is on file. Waste of time and money.

Wish I could give it 0 stars.Went to location to ask for quote for a job and was told I would hear back the next day. Didnt hear anything back by then so I called and they told me they would soon call. That also didnt happen. I ended up doing the job myself, probably saved $300+

Brought my car here at 8:30am for 4 new tires, gave my exact order to the man up front. All is good, he said that it would be done around 11 after install, balance, and alignment. I walked to the subway to get some breakfast, ate and came back. My car was still parked out front; time was 9:20am. Well I wait, and wait, and wait. Turns into 10:20am and I ask when they’re going to get started on my car, to be told they’re waiting on a bay to open up. Mind you, other customers were in and out just fine, so I wondered where their cars were going, I had also not been hearing tools go off for the entire morning. It turns10:50am and ask if they’re going to start on my car, and Andrew told me they’re starting now. My wheels were pulled at 11:18am, they were still off at 11:51am. Still here at noon. Definitely not coming back to this location and would not recommend anybody. Another note, it takes me 20 minutes to do semi truck tires at my shop, so I know what I’m talking about.

Do not go here. They will try to turn a $50 oil change into a $500 in repairs.I scheduled an oil change online because it was right across from work and it had a $20 discount coupon if you scheduled online.First off, when I dropped the car off they could not find any information about my car even though I had entered it all very clearly. They told me I had a 2015 BMW when I have a mazda, and acted as if I put in the wrong brand of car...After a couple hours, I got a phone call telling me that I needed not only the oil change, but several other items fixed including brakes and brake fluid, which would have totaled $500 in repairs.I told them I did not want this done that day and that I only wanted the oil change because I needed my car back. They tried to convince me to let them keep the car and get a rental for me. I insisted on having my car back and picked it up later that day after reminding the person on the phone to add the $20 discount because they did not include it in the total given to me over the phone.When I picked up the car, I paid and wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Looking at the receipt afterwards, they still did not give me the $20 discount after I reminded them several times.Finally, the worst part is that I took the car to a different auto shop to get a second opinion, and they told me that I have likely at least 10,000 more miles on my brakes... Whereas pep boys acted like I needed to have them replaced immediately.Dishonest and not true to their word. I will never go back here again...

I had an engine light come on so I stopped in Pep Boys since I was nearby. Great choice. Professional and savvy was the crew. Fixed me up and got me back on the road. Since I was out of town it was great to be taken care of so well.

Great experience. Had to get an Oil change and state inspection on my Infiniti today. I opted for a fully synthetic Mobil 1 upgrade as I was already overdue. The staff was friendly and didnt try to hard sell extra parts thats werent necessary. The service advisor was very kind and knowledgeable! My technician was named Luis. A+

I had my tires changed here before and service was great, so I decided to replace my brakes here too. However, when I was having my brakes replaced today, I was disappointed with the service. The mechanic working on my car broke my lug bolt on my rear wheel because the tread damage could only come from the wheel impact gun. I didnt want to argue too much on the spot when there were other customers around, so I was charged around 76 dollars to get it fixed. Definitely dont agree with the charge for something the mechanic broke.

Can’t get oil change done because they don’t have time then recommend a place that closes an hour earlier and say they will do it. Don’t recommend them ever to anybody.

They kept me informed of my services and I love that its open on Sundays.

Very happy customer here! :) I was way past due for an oil change, two new tires, state inspection and a light bulb blinker so I called ahead and made an appointment with Jose. He made sure any questions I had were answered and although I didnt get to personally meet him the day of my appointment, I was greeted and helped by Katrina and just like Jose, she was very helpful and friendly. Needless to say, I most definitely recommend this location and thanks to their Pep Boys Membership, I paid less than the original amount!

Please dont waste your time I am warning you. Customer service terrible. Even one of the employees stated this is the worse center Ive been to . One customer waited 2 hours for an oil change. They made us wait 45 minutes and flat out told us they could not do the work. A simple radiator flush???! And why it took so long to determine that I have no idea but Pepboys please hear me when I say you are a complete JOKE! These guys arent mechanics ppl so you have been warned ! Dont risk your tranportation. You get what you pay for.

I have been visiting this store since last year, and always have had great service and customer care. The manager Jose is a very nice guy,he listens to the customers and looks at the vehicle him self whenever you talk to him. Would definitely recommend visiting this store for any fixes. They do have some online coupons for oil changes, new tires etc.

Pep boys in Katy is the ONLY place I take my care and the quality and care I receive improves each time. I have taken all my previous and present car here for oil changes, new tires, alignments, ect. The first time I came here my car actually broke down right beside it and they took care of everything the same day! The guys in the front are so sweet and Jose is THE BEST!!! When I was a student he always makes sure I was comfortable with the price before we beginning work on my car. I can understand the wait can be a little long at times BUT remember, this is the only pep boys in Katy! I usually sit at the Starbucks next door until I get a call to come pick up my car.I have tried other places for my services and I either pay a lot more or I am unhappy with my services. At pep boys I get a low price and amazing work!

So, I had a rattling under the car and discovered it was a piece of broken heat shield; essentially the vibration had loosened it and some pieces came undone. I also needed an oil change, so I went.The guy who evaluated my car said I needed an alignment. I agreed to it, and he said all the repairs would be done in a couple hours. Long story short, they called bc I needed a belt replaced & I agreed to that too. Finally at 7pm I get a call saying that I can pick up the car in the next 15 minutes so I rush to get it.Well. They tell me the alignment was unnecessary— but charge me for it anyway. And then, I find out that they didn’t fix the rattling! $350 and the final kicker is? I took the car to my fiancé’s dad and he was able to fix it with some bigger washers and removing the broken tin scraps. Boom.Don’t come here. They just want your money.

They dont have a tech 2 hours before they close, so they cant do a simple oil change. Well heres an idea dont advertise that your open if you cant actually do buiness. There will not be a next time I would rather do business with shop who sticks to there open hours. Also that was not a positive rating, duh.

Were on the road traveling and my tire ended up with a screw in it. Its Sunday places are closed and the others had a 2 to 3 hour wait. This place was my last resort. I call and the gentleman said to come on over, there wasnt going to be much wait at all. We were out in just a few minutes! Thank you so much for your friendly service!

Jose Garcia is the store manager and he is nothing but amazing! When I took my car in it was super busy and they were about to close. Even in the mist of the chaos that was happening in the store Jose welcomed me and listened to my concerns and immediately took a look at my car and was able to fix the problem right there in the parking lot. I was amazed that he was still so friendly and provided fast service with what all was going on. My car from now on will only be serviced by this pep boys simply because of the excellent customer service I received from Jose.

We have had 2 bad experiences with the Pep Boys on Fry Rd. In summer 2018 we took our truck there for brakes and they replaced the brake pads. The brakes squeaked when backing up from the time we pulled out of their drive that cost like $500. Then several months later went back for an oil change and mentioned the brakes and the noise they made when backing up. Over $900 said we needed new rotors. How nice for them more money why didnt they say rotors the first time right. My husband went back yesterday for an oil change 2/27/19 $130 and today when he got to work a co-worker said hey there is a big oil stain leaking from your truck. Wow!

So Pep Boys now has a policy where they WILL NOT patch a tire if the tread is too low and youll be forced to buy a new tire. I was stranded with a flat due to a piece of glass and no spare, so I had to buy the new tire. The only one they had in stock was $80 more than the cheapest tire, so I ended up paying $222 for one tire when all I needed was a patch :(.The people at this location were nice, but the policy for patching tires is ridiculous and needs to change. Please do something!!!

Jose and team are really helpful and always friendly. I just took my car there and found out they drove to the woodlands to get a part for my vehicle and didnt even charge me for it. Highly recommend them!

$1700 dollars 3 visits later and once again my air conditioner breaks down. This will be my 4th visit. Wonder how much it will be this time.

Location is only good for a run of the mill oil change and nothing more. They failed to detect a worn out control arm during a alignment they still charged for, even though they were incapable of property aligning the vehicle due to them not having a camber kit in stock. I reiterate, the business is only good for oil changes, anything else I would think twice.

Just had my second very bad experience at Fry Katy TX PepBoys. Dropped car off at 8:30am for a simple oil change and not through by 4:30pm so went and picked it up. This place is very unorganized and doesn’t keep your car in any priority order. Last time I try that again as this is second time in a month with very similar results.

I had previously come in and had a great experience with Jose.But unfortunately I came back for my prepaid service plan for a tire rotation and this time I had to deal with another manager. I also had an engine light on that I wanted to check.They did check my engine light for a price and told me to go to the cars dealership since there was a service order, I obviously had to pay for the same diagnostic at the dealership.Now about the tire rotation. After driving for a while and noticing that it was not driving smoothly I stoped to check the pressure on the tires and they were all different. I have to say I had them all on the same tire pressure before taking it for the maintenance. Now I’m not even sure if they rotated the tires at all or did the multipoint inspection.For my oil change I will have to make sure Jose is managing that day.Update: April 26, 2019I have continued to have my scheduled maintenance here. Every time I come in with Jose, the manager, I have had a great experience. He is very responsive to all issues that I bring up and takes the time necessary to make sure everything he does to my car is perfect. I like this attention to detail which makes me trust him, something I find very difficult when dealing with mechanics, specially those affiliated to big service chains like this. The only reason this is not a 5 star raising is due to previous experiences with another one of the front desk staff.So if you want a great service for your oil changes this is the place. Just make sure you ask for Jose.

A worker ran my husband car into a wall in September. We have jumped through hoop afted hoop tring to get the car fixed. Its now DECEMBER! Car still isnt fixed. Over 5000 in damages!

My car was running very rough due to a bad front tire so I went to the closest place to my house which was pep boys unfortunately ! I got alignment oil change and two front tires. First quote was like $800 I got the price to below half of that when I took all the warranties and extra bs off. When I went in there I told him I do NOT want a price of any extra work and that’s all he did the entire time was quote me on stuff I didn’t even need! They told me 2 hours ended up being close to 5 !! Which was ridiculous made me late for work. Didn’t change my oil sticker so I don’t even know if they did that.. they said they did. Guy at the front was decent person but does not know how to listen. Then when I was leaving he said oh ur going to need your breaks soon! (Which was not true cause I had just got my rotors grinded and they said I did not need breaks yet) then two days later my car was grinding and dropping so bad I had to replace them ASAP.. I have baby and was super scared.. very disappointed.Update: my car notified me today I need an oil change, which only happens when I’m very past due!! So I believe it wasn’t done.

My car was damaged at the shop by their technician, they file a claim to repair, but their claim department is the worst... it’s been 20 days and I’m not able to get in touch of anyone. I’m going to file a complaint and will eventually I’ll take it to court.

Worst Service so far I have seen!!! Every time I visited, I felt I have been cheated. If I ask for some service, they come back with either this is not recommended or need additional things or a higher price service. Coupons did not serve any purpose. After 3rd time, I decided that I will never ever visit Pep Boys, especially in this location!

I brought in my car for a tire repair which, in the past on 2 other vehicles that Ive owned, have always been done for free. However, on this particular occasion, I went in to pick it up and was told that I was to be charged.Now, I dont have a problem with paying for service, but I was never notified about how much the repair would be, nor was I asked if I wanted the service done. In other words, I never authorized the work. I wouldnt have done the work there had I known. There are too many auto shops that will do that kind of thing for free.The cost was not a lot, but my gripe is in the change of how things are done over there. Thus the poor review.

Stopped by to get quote on tires that needed to be ordered. Was told cant order, although I see you can online...What posses me off was 4 wheel alignment for $89.97. For a half ton 2wd pickup. My 97 f250 4wd also has lifetime alignment, uses shims, and cost $40-something. Rep told me it has always been $90. Nope, it hasnt.Decided to take business elsewhere.

Good bunch of guys. They didnt have the tire I ordered so they gave me a better one for the same price. I would say they work quick, but I have an oversized truck so I have to wait for a particular Bay every time.

I arrived at this location at 6:45 p.m. They close at 7 p.m. When I arrive there was an Asian guy in the office whom I advised that I wanted them to put my hub caps on for me. He said one or all four I said all four. He then went on to say that we close in 15 minutes so we can not take care of you. I advised him that it should not take more then 15min to put the hub caps on. He then went to get Larry and Larry advised me that there is nothing that they can do because they are closed at this time. I told him it is 6:49pm you guys close at 7pm from a customer service stand point, if someone arrives before you close you take care of them. He said yes that would be ideal. He then asked me if I was paying cash or credit. I told him I was paying credit then he stated that yeah their machines have already been closed anyway so he couldnt​ assist me anyway.

Bought a care car plan when I bought my new car. Was told that pep boys honor the plan in katy so I wouldnt need to drive to bayway jeep. Jose, the service manager, was very helpful and knew all about the plan. The experience was seemless and efficient. My car was taken care of and I was out the door. The shop itself is a little dirty and dingy but what mechanic isnt. The location is near a residential area and well placed next to Starbucks so you can sit and have coffee while they work on your car.

Wife went to this Pep Boys for a tire repair for a nail puncture. After she watched the employees sit around for 10 minutes before they even asked what she needed, they said they couldn’t repair it and she needed to pay $279 for a new tire. This was before they even looked at the tire. When she said wasn’t paying $279 for a new tire, they said she could go “F” herself. She drove down the road to another place and had the tire repaired for $15. Avoid this Pep Boys at all costs!!!

I just had a great experience at this PepBoys location. They were very courteous and professional. Their prices were good and they didnt try to nickel and dime me. Cool people, helped me install my battery and tighten loose wires.

They did brake bleed and checked out the system. They left brake switch off the brake pedal. Had no brake lights, but they got it right finally.

Make sure to check your car before you leave. Otherwise youll have grease stains all over your interior.

Its actually Zero star but I have to put one star so I can share my experience which is absolute worst. I ordered a part online and received first email stated that my order been received and will send another email when its ready to pickup . On website it says ready by 2pm so I waited 24 hour and still didnot recived any email so I called the store and the associate I spoke to he dont know what he is doing and ask me what was my order so I told him it was a nissan altima radiator and I gave him the order number and everything without even checking he told me yes I can come and pick up and then I asked him that I didnot recive any confirmation email he said its okay I can pick up they have in stock so I drove to the store to pick up and it wasnt what I ordered so I asked him that its not the right one and I showed him the pic on my phone for the item# I ordered without checking he told me they dont have it so I asked him if he can check in yall inventory and see what store have it he just dont wana help me at all and told me straight they are small company they dont have it which is ridiculous because its a very common car radiator. Now they charged me on my credit card for something I didnt receive and it just frustrating to get my money back because they never answer their customer service line and place you on never ending hold. NEVER ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM THEIR WEBSITE.
