My family belonged to this location almost fifteen years ago. I am very impressed by the updated building, equipment, and other resources. I have visited at least 10 times within the past two weeks, early in the morning and late evening. Each time I have been extended a warm greeting accompanied by a smile!The locker/shower/restrooms have been clean with a pleasant smell, every single time. I have been able to utilize the treadmills, stationary bikes, and weights without waiting each time Ive visited. The entire facility is well lit, clean, capacious, and the mood is jovial.Children and adults are able to enjoy this interactive facility in harmony! Today the staff rearranged and added new equipment to the main area!

I love it for their swim lessons. My son loves the class and how its preparing him for the swim team. The staff is amazing and helpful.

Poor Facility. Online claimed to have sauna, racquetball, along with other amenities. (They we’re wrong). This “Y” is tailored for family’s mainly kids. Pool is shallow. Overall disappointed in quality of Facility. Staff was mundane. Parking lot seemed sketchy.

Visited twice now. This location is well maintained and laid out very nicely. The workout area is up to date and has exactly what you need. The locker was clean and large, with plenty of room.

Tried to use pool again, closed, understaffed, only time I can use do to job and they cant even have it open, very disappointed,, need for physical therapy and cant do with a bunch of kids in the way, all I asked for was 1/2 hour on Tuesdays when it isnt crowded, staff acted as if i didnt count, to busy on computer, website said available but that needs updated, NOT HAPPY AT ALL

Pros:-Friendly staff and convenient-There is a Y nearby anywhere I am in the KC metro-swim lessons for kidsCons:-I like doing body weight exercises on my own while my kids are doing swim lessons (limited time available as a parent) BUT the stretching area has gotten smaller and smaller these last few years as they move in more equipment.-limited open swim hours

It was very clean and nicely setup. They have a nice gym and an even better basketball court & pool.

DANGEROUS DO NOT GO HERE. A few months ago my car and belongings were stolen from this location the employees of this YMCA let a stranger into the building ( no ID and no membership). The person went into the locker room broke into my locker walked out side with my belongings and stole my car. After reviewing camera footage we realized what had happened. After realizing the employee was at fault for letting a complete stranger into the building I thought surely upper management would look to reimburse me for my stolen belongings (car was recovered but had to pay $500 for new key fob). Upper management basically took no accountability and brushed me to the side. I know they are not responsible for stolen items but I thought since they let a complete stranger into the location they would take some accountability for this. This is not just about things being stolen. The YMCA put everyone and their belongings at risk doing this. I would never take my kids to this place.

Friendly staff. Clear, simple instructions on the equipment. Plenty of sanitizing stations.

Took swimming lessons for the first time. I loved it, and the staff was awesome.

Kelsey is a great leader for the Together-hood. Like the 5:30 am classes. Mo in the morning is a great addition to your staff. She does a great job promoting the Y overall.

Big facility. Nice pool that is kid friendly. Lots of work out equipment. Friendly staff. Lots. Of parking.

They have a variety of classes to choose from, including spin, yoga, body fit pool classes, etc. and the gym is fully equipped with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, nice workout machines and a power lifting area. I would recommend the Cleaver Y to anyone in the neighborhood.

Gave me a tour of the Club was very informative. The cardio class is always crowded which means the teacher is good & the location is great. Peaceful on Sundays😊

New member and so far I really enjoy it. The kids zone is very nice and so are the staff. I’ve taken one class and will be taking more for sure! Clean facility and great staff. Bring a lock for the locker room! They have signs up that they are not responsible for stolen or lost items, no gym should be! I bring my own lock and never had a problem!

I enjoy the Cleaver YMCA its all ways clean and the equipment is up to date. My entire family enjoys the activities and classes that are available.Post Covid-19 12/9/20 the equipment is very dusty they need a good wiping down. They still have up to date equipment just wipe it down with sanitizer before working out on them.

If you want your personal belongings stolen, this is a great facility. Brit is great as she tried to recover my stolen items. Another employee doubted my claims and stolen property and said they didnt have access to cameras (which isnt true). This was my first time here and most likely last if not reimbursed.

The facility is clean and inviting. Youre always greeted with a friendly welcome. Equipment is well maintained. The environment has a really nice neighborhood feel.

I went to go to the pool to train and it was only allowed 30 minutes for the lap pool. Its was also extremely crowded and minimal social distancing. The vending machines were also closed.

The YMCA is really great at engaging, helping and teaching in the community. They dont just help people who walk through their doors, they go out of their way to find people who need it. Thanks YMCA.

Great facility, staff, and amenities. I would definitely recommend. Much nicer and larger than the Prarie Village location.

Highly Recommend-Excellent gym and pool and for all ages! The classes are Free with membership (Zumba, Kickboxing, Yoga, Bootcamp). There are swimming classes including Water Fitness. New equipment on the Wellness Floor. Friendly and Welcoming Staff to answer questions. Kids love the Child Watch area

This has been my YMCA since it first opened. I even moved nearer to The Redbridge YMCA but find that The Cleaver YMCA is really my home.

Planned on using a friends guest pass to check out the facility, found out that the charge is $15 just to use a guest pass, (average time spent in this facility by guests is 46 minutes, which if I had gotten in quickly, would have been about how long I would have stayed.) so decided to look into a membership instead because this seemed like a horrible waste of money and not a real benefit to either the membership holder, or the guest.Well, 20 minutes later after getting information on price packages and slowly being put into the system, I was afraid I might not have time to work out that morning before work, so I said, you know what? Just let me use the guest pass so I can use and inspect the facility today. 15 minutes later I was still slowly having my info put into the computer (for a guest pass! ! ) Finally had to just leave as my workout/facility inspection would have cost 15 dollars for 15 minutes -If indeed she would have finished with me soon.A guest pass from a paying member should not cost anywhere near this much. It is ridiculous, and it shouldnt take that long to get a guest in.
