A client hired my company to update their kitchen remodeling business. About a week after starting, we encountered a problem due to a sudden extremely high humidity problem in the home. I gave them three different options (none of which would cost them any extra money), all of which would solve the problem. Unfortunately, they declined all three options and wouldnt let me back in the house to finish the job. My company was a NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) award winning contractor for over 10 years, and won a national award in 2015. My company has all five star reviews on Google. Since the client wouldnt let me complete the job, and because my company was a member of the BBB, I readily accepted to meet with the client in a binding arbitration process held by the Better Business Bureau at their office. Unfortunately, the so-called unbiased arbitrator was on their side, and ruled against my company. His reason: you didnt agree to fix the problem using the same method that you used originally. Duh, mr. arbitrator, you didnt seem to understand that the original method didnt work because of the high humidity condition, and the three alternative methods I proposed to fix the problem would work. When a client hires a contractor to do a job, it is the results that they are paying for, the specifics of how the job is done, the process, is determined by the contractor, not the client. This decision was a sham and I felt railroaded. Although my company had been a member of the BBB for over 15 years, I saw the BBB for what it was, and I declined to renew my membership for all subsequent years. When I later saw the local rep from the BBB walking the home shows that we displayed at, he couldnt look me in the eye. It was obvious that he was ashamed of his employer, knowing that my company did everything we could to satisfy this client. My recommendation to homeowners is that before you hire a contractor, read online and other reviews from the contractors clients, get references, and ask to look at previous jobs. If your contractor wont do this, then dont hire them. Online reviews have replaced the phone call to The Better Business Bureau, asking about a contractor. The BBB has outlived its usefulness as an unbiased source of information.

The BBB of Greater KC is a valuable asset for us. We are a home remodeling business and the vast majority of clients do check the BBB for our overall rating and reviews. Especially those who are not referral business. We have gotten feedback from many saying they had no idea that the BBB offered so much more than just a rating. From our standpoint... its almost like having another Social Media platform. We can put photos galleries of our work on the site as well as list our accreditations, licenses, and expertise. Weve found that our clients depend on the Better Business Bureau to help them with the final decision on which business to choose. And if we do our part, and retain a great rating, the customers will continue to come. Its a win/win!

I recently filed a complaint against H&R Block not wanting to refund me money. After using the online product. I had to go in person in the office and start all over. I reached out to the BBB with in my state of Texas and filed a complaint. Due to the company being located in Kansas City it was transferred there. I received an email to file out a form to have the issue looked into. So I filled it out and attempted to fax it, the number didnt work. I tried two to three times same result. So I ended up mailing the documents. I called and emailed additional documentation, as well as informed them about the fax dilemma. Not only that twice I was transferred to some ones voicemail. Some time this week I received an email about my case being invalid because no form was received. I called and spoke to a representative, he was clueless. I offered my case number to him over three times and he never entered it. Though he was nice he wasnt helpful at all. He provided me an email that was invalid. Not only that this isnt first time I was given an invalid email to reach out to some one. So I called the Houston office back. The representative stated to me that she couldnt help because its with a different state. She stated I would have to file the case again. Also I was provided with the phone number to the Attorney General and the local small claims court. This is really sad. all I want is my money back.

This company is a scam. They take any complaint, and if you dont bend to the will of the customer and PAY them (even if youre 100% in the right as a company), they keep the bad review on their website. Not an actual review company. Pay to remove a bad review? Thats not how it should work. Company should be ashamed of themselves.

I contacted the BBB in regards to Cirkul. I prepaid for items which took almost 2 months to receive. When I canceled my next preorder the company took my money anyway.Contact with the company is horrible. They send pre-typed emails in response.The BBB was able to help with my refund.

One of the most worthless organizations out there, they dont help consumers in any way shape or form theyre completely worthless....Just hire a lawyer and move forward, its not worth your time to even talk to these people... My case wasnt even looked at properly, and then they sent me an email that they were closing my case.

Google and yelp and other reviews I feel are not always reputable because people can just have a bad day and blow you up on the Internet however with the Better Business Bureau they listen to both sides they get documentation and then they have a mediator and they work with you and that will weed out the people that are just trying to be mean on the internet.

The BBB is an extortionist group that will allow a business to be a member if and only if the business is willing to pay annual dues to be a member. If a business is not a member, then they make up bogus claims against it. People be aware that good ratings are paid for.

I came to the BBB because I felt I was getting the runaround by a cell phone carrier service. It has been my experience that these companies are quick to take your coins, BUT when you request the necessary tools to go somewhere else. They in turn drag their customer service efforts. Well 3 days after I filed my initial complaint the corporate office of the carrier company called me and rectified my issue immediately. So I will gladly thank them again in this format because if you about your business you dont want the bad ratings from the BBB.

Please note the huge majority of complaints are from businesses. The BBB is not that app. I have left a complaint on a business in the past, that company resolved my issue. Companies if you attempt to fix your customers complaint, your rating reflects that. You don’t have to be a BBB member. It is completely different than that app people use. The only way that app complaint can be adjusted is by the customer. The BBB is unbiased and fair in my opinion

I filed a complaint about a business that rated A in BBB Kansas and received a case # and confirmation of receipt from BBB. However it was never posted. So I tried to call and find out what happened and no one answered. I made multiple calls, left messages, followed by emails about this complaint, unfortunately there has been no response at all so far. Is BBB Kansas no longer functioning? It’s very disappointing as I had trusted BBB all the time for a long time.

If you pay for their subscription you get a good rating, but if you cancel they will do all they can to drop your rating. We have proof, one of our companies is at A+, the other that cancelled the subscription is now at an F after a couple of years. These are the same employees, the same prices and practices. It is a joke. The misconception is that they are some government run audit company, but they just want the money. Google has a more honest rating system hands down, and you see where they land on Googles ratings.

The Thermal King Window crew that installed our windows last week was friendly, courteous, and professional. They answered all our concerns and questions, and did a very good job. They kept the inside and outside of our house clean and in the condition it was when they started. We are very satisfied with the work they did and plan to have them install the remaining 8 windows later this year. We really like our Thermal King Windows!

It is concerning that the BBB has an overall review of 2, but why not give them a try......I thought. Thus far, I can better understand the rating and am more shocked it is as high as it is. Complete incompetence, little to no effort, and a desire to close complaints quickly with no resolution is all I have experienced. Is there a better business bureau for the Better Business Bureau?

The contractor who failed our home renovation project has used the BBB logo on their business to get business from us in 2018, and even they has not been a BBB member since 2011, the BBB still gave the business grade A, and therefore remove our complaint on the BBB website. It is unlikely the BBB can be trusted by the public anymore going forward, as they did not do anything to stop fraudulent business practice.

The bbb is making false statements, allowing someone who is not my customer to leave a “customer complaint” and says that I did not show good faith in trying to resolve the issue when in fact I did. During February as I was removing broken limbs 30-40 feet off the ground in sub 20 degree weather a ground man let the rope tied to an elm limb I was cutting run too much and the end of the elm limb disconnected the power cord from the neighbors home to a detached garage. I had an electrician there the very next morning and it was re connected temporarily until it could be reconnected permanently. However the neighbor demanded I upgrade their power cord instead of just repairing it to it’s previous condition. In February I offered to pay half the cost to totally replace and upgrade the power cord, the neighbor refused and tried to use the bbb to extort the full $400+ cost of upgrading their power cord out of me. When they realized, four months later, that they would not be able to extort the full cost out of me they tried to take my offer, they had refused, to pay half. I offered at that time to pay what the cost would have been to reattach their cord where and how it had been before, they then refused my second offer so that there could be a complaint left unresolved. I made two different cash offers and offered to pay an electrician to repair the cord as it had been before all were refused. The people complaining were not and will never be my customers and I tried for months and made different offers to resolve this issue. The only bad faith here is the neighbors trying to take advantage of someone and the bbb not being objective and making false statements.

I am trying to file a complaint against the Kansas City Star, but cant get in touch with anyone at the BBB. This is the same problem we are having with the Star. I do not know whats going on with the Star these days, but getting a paper isnt easy. You cant talk to anyone local, all complaints go to India. Weve paid for a year of the paper, but dont get it half the time. I dont know anyone that even takes the paper anymore. I dont know how they stay afloat. Youd think theyd want to make sure and keep the few customers they have. Guess not. Id give the Star zero stars if I could.

Was put into contact with this company after filing a complaint with boost mobile i recieved a response back from the buisness and it was not to my satisfaction so i rejected their response.It has been almost a month now and have not recieved any other responses back i emailed the better buisness bureau and they will not reply back.Its pretty sad a company thats suppose to be helping consumers like me with issues instead they ignore you and basically favor in the company your having issues with and thats not right anymore things are becoming more about money and greed and basically not caring about the lower class people its more about favoring these big corporations that scam people and take money

I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau of Kansas City and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office also forwarded my complaint on Trophy Lawn Care owned by Darren Nichols in Olathe, Kansas. This information was sent in October 2017 to BBB and was not closed until January 3, 2018. My Home was damaged by this Lawn care provider and the damage totaled $341. And Trophy Lawn Care wanted to pay $200. Minus $30. For the cut. Astrid From BBB told me 3-times that she was going to close my case as No Response when the last day to respond was 12-10-2017. Every time I called after that she was never ever at work. On January 3, she still was not at work and I asked the Supervisor Jessica to look at my complaint, finally my complaint was closed today by Jessica or Astrid I have no idea who. This process is very frustrating and lengthy as well as seemingly to me Just a waste of time. I was told he had insurance but who knows. Buyer Be Ware!

As a business owner they will let your competition post against you and do nothing about it if you prove it to be a false review. As a consumer they hardly make any attempt to even contact the company. Complete waste of everyones time. They are nothing but a organization companies can pay to buy an A+ rating for advertising. Dont waste your time as they wont waste theirs unless your cutting a check to them. We had them publish libel about us and claim they cant remove it. The allow libel to be posted against companies they are unfamiliar with we are currently fighting so at least maybe a consumer or a business may get some fair treatment from this company that makes money off extortion of business that dont pay their ransom or consumers that actually have a legitimate complaint.

I complained about Facebook. I keep getting notifications via text on my phone for friend requests and other FB notifications. However, you in January 2019, I deleted my Facebook account and should not be receiving any other request, yet I am.Facebooks response was to look at their frequently asked questions to resolve my issues. I did do that but there is no answer regarding my particular issue.I even tried googling it, asking how I can remove friend request from my text messaging. There is no Facebook app on my phone so I am unsure as to why I continue to receive Facebook friend request and notifications.No satisfaction from either the BBB or FB.Last time I checked, it is 2019 and not 2010. This should be easy to get a response that is actually helpful!! Exceptionally sad. Done with them both!

As a business or a consumer they will screw you unless you pay for their service. They dont return calls, and they dont review the facts on claims. They will only give attention to the squeaky wheel. As a consumer or company I dont want to be that person. I find it funny that they have reviews/recommendations blocked on Facebook, I guess they want to rate companies, but dont want to be rated themselves.

Lloyd the Plumber came out on a Friday evening without an after hours call. He clearly explained several different options and the price of each. His prices were reasonable and he did not try to up sell me. I did not have to explain the situation to a 3rd party as he answered the phone himself.

I will definitely recommend Rodriguez painting kc. They are Not at all greedy like other companies and they do the job right or until you are satisfied they promised. Thank you so much Victor, He even told me something is not good for the job even if it is less money for them for opting out. These are people you want to work with. Just a little hard following up with the company and finding the right person or your account after job done for your rebate. Otherwise ok. Will hire again.

I called the Better Business Bureau regarding Cottmans Transmission in Waldo who replaced my transmission just over a year ago. Now, I need another transmission as the replacement has gone out 13 months later. The BBB was of no help in directing me as to my recourse and actually gave me the impression that they believe a nearly $3,000 transmission should be a yearly replacement item. Perhaps, those who pay for membership with the BBB get special treatment and accolades even when they are less than honorable and/or provide shoddy service?

Luxury Nails & Spa ran by Rose is a terrible establishment. Rose is a very some-timey individual who picks and choses which clients to perform services instead of first come first serve or clients who have appointments. There is always a long wait time for services to be rendered and she makes up prices as she goes. I was over charged for my eyebrow wax. I waited patiently to have my nails done by rose today and when another client came in the door Rose put the other client in front of me and told me that I would have to come back later. This nail salon offers very poor customer service and I will not be returning. If I could give Luxury Nails & Spa zero stars I definitely would.

I lease a car from Legends Honda. They are having me pay the personal propery taxes on the car I lease from them No other dealership does this and I have leased many cars and they could care less when I told them the cars was theirs and thats why the city sends them the bill and not me.

This Rating should be one star with a Negative sign, but Google doesnt provide that choice.Dont believe the bbbs rating on companys. They work for the companies so they will always side with them and give them A+ ratings. We had a horrible experience with Kennys Tile, ( Nancy Campbell, Brad Brarlow, and their crew) and the bbb took their side.I also received mixed messages from the bbb on how they were going to handle this case, but when I pointed out their inconsistency, they took the companys side and closed this case immediately.John Sparks from the bbb handled this case poorly, so if you deal with him, your on the fast track to no where.

Kitchen Pro LLC of Harrisonville, MO took six months to renovate a small bathroom and my kitchen. Justin the owner cut corners at every turn to save himself money, including hiring cut-rate help that was clearly not able to do the work in a professional manner. Justin was rude and unprofessional throughout this project, slow to respond to phone calls, and rarely on-site to do the work himself. The result is a mediocre renovation job and a terrible experience for my wife and myself.

This agency is a waste of your time. I wrote a detail complaint and provided copies of contract, check, photos of the flaws left by the roofing company Restore Masters LLC after they ignore to come back to correct the damages leftafter they replace my roof. The BBB contacted Restore Masters on the matter but they easily got away by responding with an e-mail full of lies saying they gave me a refund for $1000 and went above and beyond to satisfy the costumer (wich was a big lie they never give me a refund or came back to correct their mistakes). The BBB takes bussiness side.

They install products such as cameras in people house without their consent. They have nerve and disrespect to repeatedly try to hurt ex-employees who left in peace. They change their name from ADT Security services to Tyco International because they have bunch of thieves who used to work there and got layoff and fired. Now they have another call center in Irving Texas whom they have great thieves who are doing amazing jobs following people in their house to illegally implement cameras without the owner consent. It is horrible having worked for such crooked, criminals and stupidest corporation who work with internal and external people to hurt previous co-workers. If you leave a company it is important that company to let you enjoy life with another company without getting involved in your affairs. They have people come to your apartment complex and work with crooked ex-president and CEO to hurt people. They work with Aetna and other crooked corporation such as small business JKM Bob Elliot to hurt people....Stupid people doing stupid activities and filming someone without their consent is a federal crime. Fourth amendment violation for two month seriously. Who does that to a human being while enjoying the comfort of their own home. Wishing to express my thanks for and the great results for trusting Robinhood Negotiators, LLC out of Florida. Honestly to start out I was quite sceptical. Two and a half years ago my debt was starting to soar uncontrollably due to the interest on my card accounts. Invest KC Holdings, LLC, Abraxas Investments and Realty, LLC, run and owned by Nyameke Caycee Meka, did knowingly take shortcuts on the home I purchased from her in Nov. of 2015. She paid All Action Contractors, LLC to do plumbing connections. Nearly every single connection was found to be in code violation. The hot water was installed incorrectly and leaked gas into the basement. The list goes on.The Inspection I used was done by Advantage Property Inspections. David A Moore missed many code violations.The selling realtor was Mary Bolling of Keller WilliamsMy realtor was Jana Sullivan Peterson. She should have given me more knowledge that if I didnt pay for the inspection I would have no legal recourse. Also there was extensive termite damage. Missed by all until after I purchased. It was quite evident to the seller as it was 3 inches from a new electrical junction box. Also no permits were pulled for the electrical and plumbing work done. The City of Mission requires it but did nothing and has done nothing since

I have had a HORRIBLE experience with trails and rails and their UHAUL side business. I would warn anyone out there to go to a different establishment to get their Uhaul. My son and I rented a truck from them and i put up a $100 check for them to hold. he tried to return uhaul on thanksgiving they were closed so he returned it friday the next day. uhaul broke down 1 1/2 blocks from the store. my son called 3 different people to forward the msg to owner, NO ONE ever returned his call to this day (dec 18 2014) instead they cashed my $100 check which was fine but they also took out $223 from my debit card. ive went to the store 3 different times to speak to manager/owner, i called 2x all i get is hes busy right now or Hes in a meeting !!! funny i checked parking lot and at that time his black truck was the ONLY vehicle parked outside,must have been a very interesting meeting with him being the only one there. ive requested to see proof of milage used, proof of cost of gas used proof of how many days the truck was out !!! I have yet to see any of this but they sure didnt hesitate to take $323.00 out of my bank account so I will be calling corporate head quarters and the Better Business Bureau!!! im on disability and I cant afford to have $323 takin from me. no one ever tried to call me to let me know the so called amount of the charges or anything, they just took whatever they wanted with out me being present!! maybe ill take him to small claims court, hmmmmm ???

Bought a puppy from a breeder. The puppy had a genetic problem which caused him to die at the age of 14 months. The breeder did not want to negotiate. The BBB decided not to File publicly and still gave The breeder and A+.
