I drove into town on a Thursday for a weekend baseball tournament, from Chicago. On Thursday night my car started acting weird and the check engine light came on. I called Friday morning and they were the only place that would take me, knowing my situation. Chris told me they could diagnose the car for me but let me know to prepare to stay in town until Monday. I appreciated his honesty. They were able to diagnose my problems and ordered the parts. The parts came in Monday morning and I was on the road back home by 11am! I felt like a VIP. Chris was very informative and my car is great! I felt safe driving back home. I highly recommend going here for any car repair/maintenance needs!!

We ended up needing a new engine due to an incident on the road. They all were so helpful through out it all! We didnt even know we could go through our insurance for just the engine (no outside damage) and saved us thousands! Got our vehicle back a day or so early too!

Love this place. Fairly priced repairs. Theyre quick and do a great job. I would recommend them to anyone. Theyre great at explaining what the problem is and wont recommend unnecessary work. Weve been taken for a ride by more than a few mechanics in the past so the first time I brought my car in I asked for them to show me what they found. They took pictures to show me the issues they found and broke down the costs for me. Completely transparent which was refreshing to experience.

I have taken my car and my daughters car to Precision Auto Care several times. They are always welcoming and friendly. I have always had a person answer the phone when I call. They have given me honest and reasonable repair estimates. They are informative and typically finish the work needed on time or even ahead of schedule. They fixed my air conditioning for half the price I would have paid at the dealership. That was a couple years ago and the air conditioning is still going strong! We drove my daughters car to their shop without an appointment and they got back to us that same day, letting my daughter know what the issues were with her car.

I called this place, told them what was going on with my vehicle. I had it towed to them the next day. Suddenly we had a bad storm that hit the area. In 2 days total my vehicle was fixed. I had my alternator replace. This place rocks I would definitely Recommend them!

I went in for an inspection and they were prompt and friendly. They even gave me an estimate for the preventative maintenance for my car but they were not pushy at all about it. I will be returning.

I initially went there for some routine maintenance stuff and an inspection. Then at a grocery store days later I had my catalytic converter stolen. Platte Woods Precision Auto Care were very professional and courteous about taking care of ALL the needs of my poor car. They had it fixed sooner than I expected. They took care of all of the general maintenance needs as well. And it all came in at a lower price than expected.

I knew I was missing a bolt in one of my brake calipers - they still charged a $55 fee for diagnoses of the reported issue. I suppose that makes sense to ensure the client knows what their talking about...When all was said and done, they had installed two new bolts (one on each front wheel) and charged around $250 for parts and labor. Seemed a little costly to me, but I needed the work done right away and I was back on the road in no time.When speaking to the mechanic, he seemed to really know his stuff and told me exactly what was happening with my truck and what actions he was recommending before proceeding. Great experience, thank you!

Alternator went out cost $ 300 to have a battery installed. They charged me to clean the terminals them charged me to replace one of them them The did what was asked of them but they charged me a 150.00 for something ORiley doses for. Free. Wont be back.

Great experience. I refer friends. Reasons why below:Platte Woods Precision Auto listened to me when I wanted to replace an ABS unit on an old Escalade. I understood that the fix may not hold up or even work when driving it off of their lot, but that’s what I wanted to do. I found Platte Woods Precision Auto because another shop I had good luck with previously kept telling me that “I wouldn’t be satisfied” if they were to fix my car. Money was not an issue, I wanted to drive my old car. Platte Woods explained the same risks without knowing the backstory, but helped me with the repair when I asked them to proceed. Works great two years later.The staff always follows up to make sure that I’m satisfied and if I’m not, they will do what they can to try and satisfy.I drive an old vehicle because of Platte Woods. If it weren’t for them, I would have upgraded into another vehicle in attempt to stay out of auto shops.

I just want to give a shout out to this place. We were working towards a cross/country road trip and within two weeks we had our van taken to this place twice and inspected for a few problems we were having. They are so kind and helpful, reasonably priced, and quick with their service. They make sure to use high quality parts, and all parts are even under warranty! That’s not something I can say about many mechanics. Anyways, they really helped us out and helped us get to our destination safely. They are very passionate about what they do and I can assure you won’t be disappointed if you go here. They’re pretty flexible and may even squeeze you in if they are able to help.

While even Platte Woods Precision Auto cannot eliminate the waiting/inconvenience of auto repair, April and her staff are sensational at checking all of the other boxes that matter.Most recent example; damage to a right rear door of a blue 2014 Ford Escape. Called April on Monday 4/20/20, by that afternoon, April had located an entire color matched door and scheduled Escape to be brought in on Wednesday 4/22/20. Dropped it off in the afternoon and by Friday afternoon 4/24/20 replacement door was installed, everything buttoned up in a very professional way, and we are super pleased.The labor and replacement door cost was market value which we were happy to pay. We will continue to do business with Platte Woods Precision Auto indefinitely.

I had a very good experience taking my 2009 Suburu Legacy in for a oil and filter change and for re-attaching a passenger and drivers side engine splash guard. I was pleasantly surprised that they could attach the old parts. This saved me money. It’s nice to find a business that tries to save the customer money. Chris the service advisor was knowledgeable and amicable. He went over with me what service my car would need next and gave be a quote of how much that would cost. This was my first encounter with Platte Precision Auto service and I most certainly plan on going back there.

First time using Platte Woods Precision Auto Care and I will be using them in the future. They were open and honest about what was going on with our a/c and answered all the questions I had in regards to DIY take home freon recharge kits. The cost was better than most and they got our car looked at quickly. Its hard to find good, trustworthy repair shops, so Im thankful for finding them.

Took my car in due to power and performance problems. Long story short, Chris explained in detail what would be performed and the prices. I agreed to the service and charges and within a day my Car was ready to pick up. After driving the car for a couple of days I’ve noticed that the performance is a lot better and it drives really good. The guys at Platte woods did a solid job on my vehicle and I look toward to using them in the future as needed.

This place is fantastic. They care about you and your vehicle and finding the actual problem instead of throwing parts at it and costing you big money like large dealerships do. Their work is top notch and they are very accommodating if you have questions or concerns about anything! And obviously, this isn’t a large shop with 20+ mechanics so depending on what you need done, it could take a little extra time but I’d rather them keep my truck for a week and do things correctly at a decent price rather than take it to a dealership and pay almost double to get it back the same day! Couldn’t recommend this place more, truly a gem in the Northland!

Don’t even TRY to go here. I sent an EMAIL requesting a diagnosis on my Impala early on Tuesday morning and Chris won’t even look at my vehicle for at least three days “due to covid restrictions”. If you need a good laugh just submit a request for an appointment at this place. I read a handful of reviews on this place and I’m disappointed I didn’t get the same treatment. I guess covid is the excuse they choose to use as to why they can’t see my car for three days... whatever sense that makes. First class operation here folks. One of their customers broke down while on a trip and ended up in our NAPA Auto Care facility. They stepped up and dealt with their vendors to get us the parts and authorization to get their customer fixed and back on the road.
