From the beginning Dawn followed up right away, answered all of our questions, and brought in Collin to address our more complex roofing issues. Collin is a professional: took the time to answer all of our questions and made sure we understood the answers. It put us at ease that we were in great hands. I am also very happy Dawn talked us into some other shingle colors to consider, and that Collin suggested the higher profile ridges, and metal valleys for a better look and function to better handle our various leaves. We feel this looks great on our English Tudor. And, these were not sales pitch items. These were all relatively insignificant costs with great value. Other roofers could have just looked past all of our questions and concerns to get the job done. But again, they took the time to address our specific concerns. In addition, they fixed rotting trim including both recessed and raised on cement stucco siding with high quality material that will not rot. Daniel and his crew did a great job on the trim. We had hail damage to the roof of our house, attached garage and unattached garage. We contacted Collin at Character Exteriors (which is a local business). He came right over to give us an estimate and also worked with our insurance adjuster to make sure we received an allowance for the things that the adjuster missed. Before they removed the old shingles they put up a netting/tarp from the top of the siding to the ground to protect and catch falling debris. We have never seen that done before but were very impressed. Their workmanship, integrity, product quality and customer care is second to none. Just had gutters installed! Been too long hassling with leaves, some put together gutters that were leaking, cleaning, etc. We have a walkout and one spot along the roof line is about 25-30 ft high! We couldnt put regular gutters there because #1 Im not doing it, and #2 No way to clean them! We have a tremendous amount of leave debris, cottonwood seeds, small sticks, etc. Character Exteriors was only one of the few in Michigan that sold and installed the Valor Gutter Guard system. So, ordered new gutters with this system and wow! House foundation is much drier, water is moving away now instead of toward the home. No more cleaning gutters! Best part, I can stop spending time worrying about water getting under the foundation. Lot of attention to detail, colors matched well, great cleanup. Showed up when they were supposed to! Great interaction. We have another project and will have them back when we are ready. Thank you Character Exteriors for a great job!

They had a 5/5 star rating with 55 reviews. I know that a 5/5 rating on Google is nearly impossible to achieve. My experience with Character Exteriors completely supports this rating.Character Exteriors was prompt in replying to my inquiry (Sunday) for a new roof and gutters for my house and garage. They got back to me on Monday. On Wednesday Dawn (project consultant) came to my house to inspect and take pictures and measurements. Later the same day Dawn emailed a detailed inspection report. I met with Dawn on Thursday to review their proposal. She spent about two hours going over the proposal and answering my questions. I had MANY questions, most of which she was able to answer. For those questions that she was unsure or didn’t know the answer, she called and/or texted the owner (Collin) and project manager (Dan) on the spot while we were talking to get answers for me immediately. I signed the contract at that meeting. Work could have been scheduled to start within days or a week but was intentionally scheduled to start two and a half weeks later at my request because I wanted to be home when the work was done.On the day that work started, Collin showed up first to drop off some supplies. He was happy to answer any further questions that I had. The work crew that showed up worked incredibly hard. The roofs are a low pitch and only one story but required about 40 squares of shingles total. This crew got the job done in one day. They did a great job, were professional, pleasant and polite, and again, worked incredibly hard.The second day the gutters were placed. I wasn’t home for that but Dan did a great job.There were just a few minor hiccups along the way but this company and Collin are ALL ABOUT making it right. If there was an issue or a concern, it was addressed immediately and made right immediately. They did not rush any of the jobs. Top Notch. They came back to make sure things were OK. Heck, they even sent someone back to clean up a little mess made by an electrician well beyond and after the job I contracted them was done. Some lovely Michigan weather resulted in damage to the roof on my vacation home. One of my neighbors recommended Collin / Character Exteriors, and the process was super easy. Because I dont live in the area, I appreciated that they looked at the damage and provided video footage with commentary that I could review on my own. They were patient and realistic in exploring my options. It rained the day the work was scheduled, but Collin kept me informed and rescheduled the job quickly. The team replaced the whole roof in one day - my neighbors were very impressed.
