Very clean and specious, lots of workout space & equipment, but then again I was in the middle of the day so not knowing.Restroom were pretty cloran too.Music was NOT too loud, but AC was NOT cold enough my opinion.COVID alert - the instructors do walk around and ask everybody to wear a mask and put it back on their nose (like that’s what’s gonna save the world from COVID - but I understand, they’re only following orders). On the other hand no towels are needed when using any machine and nobody’s really wiping down the weights after use.

I got a great workout in... but the mask event is CrazyMaking.🥴🙃🙏🏽

I had a Planet Fitness membership in Washington State. It was super clean and everything that I needed in a gymThis Planet Fitness slightly resembles a 3rd world countrys airport...Whoa. Was not expecting that from a franchise.But, hey. On the bright side they had showers...🤷‍♀️

This gym is not exactly my vibe, but the staff is one of the friendliest gym staffs I have ever met, and it is extremely clean. The hydro beds make the black card membership worth it, and the locker rooms are never messy.I just wish they had actual racks for squatting and deadlifting. Otherwise, there is plenty to do and it is a decent gym!

Good vibe. Lots of cardio equipment. No exercise studio in facility so of youre looking for classes this isnt the place. Staff cleans regularly, is happy to help and is friendly.

In and out. Relatively quiet when I went there, not too busy either.

Machines are frequently out of order for maintenance, for weeks or months at a time, which can make it difficult to workout. Many people here are not courteous if others (eg, hogging machines for a long time while they socialize or text, or using the stair master to stretch their legs for 15 minutes post workout). You really have to fight for very limited equipment. Not a very friendly vibe. It’s a cheap gym and you get a cheap experience.

Good atmosphere. Kind of humid even with what looked to be half or a third capacity. Would go again. Very good price at ~ 10$ a month

To be honest, I am a bit irritated with this gym. A ton of teens and younger people work out here which is fine, but they spend so much time on the machines sitting on their phones or chatting with their friends. I see plenty of people not wearing masks, or cleaning the machines after use. There always seems to be plenty of staff, but none of them are walking around checking if people are following the rules. The womans locker room is disgusting, always looks half cleaned. Today I saw a group of girls making tik toks in the locker room even though its clearly marked that phones are not allowed for pictures or recording. Its sad, I wish there was somebody here that actually cared about their job or the people working out there.

After a heavy workout a hot shower is a relief, not tonight, the water heater was bust. So after a cold shower with the normal band aids in the drain, I thought the tanning booth would be a nice way to warm up, nope, broken too... Why do I go to this gym again? Bad management? Definitely a low end version of Planet Fitness here on Maui.

Awesome place been to the one in California. Having one on Maui is really cool.

Good spot to work off some rona virus rust and pandemic perpetuated pounds. No over chatty folks. Mostly local folks with insanely amazing genetix fer puttin on muscles. Great atmosphere, nice people, welcoming staff.

Less crowded daytime. If congested it gets slower due to equipment selection available for the muscle builder.

It is impossible to train legs, half of the machines are rusty!

It give me a place to slowly get myself together at my age. But Im still trying to figure out a system of working out properly. Never did it Im 72 & needing to stay in shape due to surgeries from heart cancer & others. I never worked out in my life till now & need help .but due to the covid, its hard to get some advice & procedure to properly do thing correct.Thank you .

Im delighted Planet Fitness has reopened. I always use the treadmill. The only issue I have is the mandatory use of face mask while on it. I cannot breathe as well as I should. So I need to pace myself. Otherwise, its all good. My cardio thanks you.

First, let me say, if you dont want to work out with a mask on, then dont come to this PF. Its simple, no harsh feelings, but that is the rule. So dont get a membership then complain or break the rules. I dont like the mask, but I wear it as I prefer working out in a facility over my home. I was a 24 member previous to PF and I miss it dearly! PF is a fitness facility, not a gym. Its great if you like smaller free weights and tons of cardio machines, otherwise, it is a place to get a workout done, but it takes patience. It gets very crowded late afternoons and I often find myself waiting or changing my programming for lack of equipment availability.

Tons of machines to use, memberships only 10 bucks! And for 20 dollars a month u can upgrade to use spa room which has hydro massage beds, massage chairs, full body enhancement machines and a tanning booth I believe. Also with the black card membership ($20 membership monthly) you can bring a guest every day as often as u like. Only bummer is the process to get a guest to come, have to download the planet fitness app and setup via guests email, a bit of a pain... workers there mostly sit behind front desk and greet u about 25% of the time. Dont want to be judgemental but they just seem lazy and lack of enthusiasm. The machines are great though, parts replaced frequently that need attention. Overall 4 stars for health!

Yeah I know I know I havent been going as much as I should have but I really am killing it out in the field I exercise four times as much when Im at work so Ive got that exercise thing handled.

The Planet Fitness website advertises 24/7. Maui was never 24/7 even pre-covid. I will be forced to explore other gyms who are currently open later than 10 & 7 pm if Planet Fitness does not go to back to at least to 24/5. I was forced to close my daughter’s account due to hours of operation. I’ve been to a few different PF clubs around the country and although I am somewhat satisfied with PF Maui, there is no comparison to some of the PF’s in America, not even close. Best PF I’ve visited lately is Orem, Utah (best by far), Havasu, Arizona is also good. I understand the whole covid thing but I got my membership because of the 24 hr schedule.

Just a great shoutout to Paola @ the South Salem Planet Fitness! She was amazing. Helped me resolve membership issues, and took great care to be helpful, kind and a problem solver! We love Planet Fitness. In and out quickly, without any delays... equipment good, and we always leave feeling great!

Somewhat poorly run gym. Little things, but a little annoying as well. Paper towels dispensers often empty and stay that way too long. Cant make sense of the television issues. Some work, some dont. Some channels on one machine work, some do on another. Pretty much hit or miss. Most troubling though is that they dont put tv not working signs on the inoperable ones. I went from machine to machine- 4 times the other day until I finally found one with a working TV. Other than those minor things, the staff is for the most part friendly and the place is kept pretty clean. Definitely worth the $20/mo. I appreciate their efforts in remaining open during the pandemic with their somewhat strict safety policies.

Dirty dressing rooms, nearly all the time. Showers bear the very same dirt, sand etc. for several days. Staff freaks out of masks if dropped during workouts, as if those pieces of cloth are the panacea to invincibility! I was addressed, while leaving for the beach in shorts, to wear a T-Shirt! I was at the exit!!! Jesus!!! The gym has NO advantages or professionalism - except for the fact its cheap.

The Corporate Rule is wear a mask, except when on a machine or in a socially distanced work out spot. No problem. However, the franchisee of the Kahului Planet Fitness in Kahului forces its members to wear a mask on the machines, so they cannot get a good workout and properly breathe and certainly cannot work out with weights because deep breaths are required. Cancel your membership! Rejoin when the policy is changed to match Corporate rules. No other gym on Maui forces this ludicrous rule. It is Not State or County Law. Just the decision of the one franchisee who paid Planet Fitness for its Kahului location!!!!!

Too bad a clique and some employees could not see past my sons excitement, eagerness, social deficits and disability. Apparently his overly friendliness was misunderstood and made some feel uncomfortable. This is suppose to be a Judgement Free Zone where everyone is accepted. We were there from your beginning but his membership was revoked and I will be cancelling my membership. I even pleaded with the regional manager that I would chaperone my son. He made no concession. Cmon folks have some compassion! You just dont know a persons difficult history. The guy has a harmless bone in his body and no malice in his blood. You couldnt see that? We live in a world where we are not suppose to talk to each other.

I am very satisfied with this particular club. We travel a great deal and have been to many facilities so I can make comparisons. In many clubs the locker room has a towel dispenser. It is especially needed here because the sink counters get very wet and water runs off them onto the floor. Soon the flooring will be compromised. Just put in a towel rack so we can wipe off counters. The staff cant be in the locker room all the time.

Masks, the PF-interpretation to a Panacea of Invincibility!Basically 99.999% of the time one is demanded, obliged and forced to wear that piece of cloth which supposedly deters the hitherto most peril virus of mankind, with that very minute exception, namely while actually showering.

Overall a nice facility and good place to workout.

Central location, plenty of parking, convenient hours, great number& variety oclock machines including Cybex arc trainer, and clean. Only drawback is load pumped in musac.

None of the bikes work correctly. It took months for them to fix them. Then They got fixed and the TV’s broke again. I went to Oahu and the gym there was great, nice, clean everything worked. Wish that gym was here, instead of over there. They say they can’t get anyone to fix the bikes. No one on Island. Should of thought about the up keep before you opened. Very upset. There is a big difference on how that is Planet fitness is run compared to this one. Would of loved to give a 5 but can’t.

Identical to every other planet fitness franchise Ive visited, but thats a pretty positive thing since they all deliver exactly what theyre promising for a very reasonable price. Both at my home gym in California and here they equipment and facilities are well kept. An empty shower is almost always available without waiting and the place is open anytime I need it to be. This planet fitness is money well spent as they all are.

First of all, I want to mention Personal Trainer Devon: He is great! My legs may not agree after our workout yesterday (No pain. No gain). Very professional & knowledgable. The space is clean & staff are friendly. I’m there during “rush hour” but there’s plenty of space to and equipment for everyone & the layout is very well thought out. I’ve belonged to many gyms before but never a “brand name” facility & I was worried it would be overwhelming & non personable. I was wrong. It felt local in the best way possible.

Im really sad I had to cancel my gym membership due to wearing a mask while working out. I hope planet fitness comes up with a better idea.

Please reward the morning staff, I come in everyday of the week and they always have the biggest smile on their face and are personally the best gym staff I have seen. Very professional and great people!

I just have to say that I went in there with my daughter who is thinking about joining. First of all we werent even acknowledged or greeted upon walking in, we stood there for a few minutes just wondering what to do or where to go.. finally we just walked up to a young gentleman and started asking him questions. He seemed like we were bothering him and he ran through the options really fast then just started helping other people and left us hanging, so we took it upon ourselves to take a tour. I just wish he was more eager to help her. After all that my daughter is still planning on joining tomorrow, I hope hes not the one whos helping her.

Dont go at 5 pm ish. Go either earlier or later. It gets so crowded that if a person sees you going for the same machine, they speedwalk and put thier stuff on it....and then sit on it only to watch youtube and just SIT there, wasting space.if you go to ask them politely about wanting to use it after, they complain about you. Best thing to do is go when there is less people.

Buyers beware. Once you are in it’s a hassle to cancel. Especially when you move. Lots of hoops to jump through including a certified letter. I paid for the top package whatever that’s called.Follow up.... A call from the manager Jessica really helped. I did send a letter and got it canceled.. I liked the gym while I was there, but moved. Just wasn’t aware you had to cancel in writing.

New location opened in March 2018. Great place for just keeping in shape. Excellent for those who have never tried a gym before. Very few free weight stations. Heavy lifters probably would go elsewhere. Has a good variety of machines.Busy with after work crowd from 4 to 8pm Monday through Friday.

Cleaning the equipments, 6 foot apart rules, wearing mask at all time, keeping spray bottles full and paper towel available so customers can wipe down the equipment after using it. Checking to make sure that everyone following the CDC rules.

I guess with a low membership fee you get rude employees that are probably underpaid, horrible customer service and really dirty Locker rooms. I’ve never seen one person cleaning while in the locker rooms. Most employees are smug with attitudes and probably teenagers at best that can never seem to help. Locker rooms should be cleaned daily and checked throughout the day, hire someone. And maybe treat your employees better or hire people with actual empathy and people skills

Great gym. No group classes or cycle classes. Limited free weights. . Very disappointed in my response notifying the tanning beds dont work like they did when first opened. Ive told the staff multiple times that the management needs to check the bulbs or have them serviced, they respond we will however they have not changed and its been at least a month now. I pay extra for The Black Card which includes the hydromassage, total body enhancement, massage chairs, and the tanning beds. I intended on only using the tanning bed once a week to maintain a tan. When first opened once or twice a week for 4 minutes was enough. Now its just about every other day 9 minutes (covering my face) and I hardly notice a difference. I asked for the staff to tell the manager but nothing has changed!! Either the manager is not taking care of this concern or the staff just says they will tell the management but dont. I pay extra so if they cant fix this problem I want to cancel my contract and drop to the regular membership.

Best place, friendly staff, great management, clean, smells good, lots of cardio...must I go on? I recommend Planet Fitness to everyone. Awesome idea guys

This gym does not really have any issues with the weights / or workout stations (which are satisfactory!) .. Our problem here is with the cleanliness of the locker rooms / janitorial service !! .. It’s as if they NEVER clean up. Also you can smell the sewage pipes in the showers. I’m leaving a two-start review for those reasons ....

Planet fitness is the best priced gym here on Maui, Staff is cool and familiar . The equipment is new and never had to wait to use any machine but if I did, it wasn’t for long. The bathroom is gorgeous with all the nice lighting, lockers, mirrors, showers, changing rooms, hair blow dryers so it’s perfect to get ready to go work after a good hour work out . Maybe need more hydro beds but I do reserve ahead of time to use it right after I get out shower so it works out. If i get time I jump on the massage chair too . I’ve used the body enhancement a few times before my work outs and I enjoy it, especially of it benefits . Everything is clean just wish gym is open all hours on weekends too

Great cheap gym, there are almost always machines open to use. You just have to pay attention to your billing to make sure they are billing you properly.

Great gym with helpful staff. Very busy because of the low membership cost. Avoid going during busy hours like 5-7pm if you can.

Its okay, if you go at a decent time... Mornings are kinda busy, but afternoon around 10 is the best.

The 1st day I went, I will give it a 1 🌟. Girl was not helpful. Gave me my membership and said theres the mens bathroom. No tour of the place. As days went on with different employees, they were helpful & friendly. Its been 2 months now. Highly recommend the place.

Planet fitness in Kahului is alright. It is usually pretty clean and the staff seems to have worked themselves into a groove. Someone else has complained that the staff didnt acknowledge them but that hasnt ever been my experience. Unless they are busy helping someone, they always welcome me when enter and say goodbye when I leave.The machines are okay although sometimes they are broken and take a while to get repaired. Im sure it is beyond the control of the staff who work there. So that isnt a huge deal to me.There used to be happy little grape candies in tubs on the customer service counter but that era seems to have come to a close. That makes me sad in the inside parts. Bring back the happy little grape tootsie roll candies, please! *Update: The happy little grape candies have migrated back to PF!*

I love the gym! Who would have ever thought I would utter those words! There are plenty of machines for everyone, and if something is being used there are many other machines to jump on. My only negative is the slippery shower and bathroom floors. Bring shower slippers and enjoy the gym experience!

I just recently joined this gym after being a member of 24 Hour Fitness for a couple of years and Planet Fitness is a nice improvement. I know that its only been open for a short time but it is clean. Even the locker room was clean.For the weight training, they have 2 of each machines allowing people not having to wait to use it. They do have smith machines and dumbbells as well if you’re not into weight training machines. The cardio area is extensive so you have a variety of machines to choose from.They do have the massage chairs as well as the hydro massage beds which is a nice way to either start or end a workout. They do have a tanning machine as well if you are looking to get a little tan. Planet Fitness is a nice welcomed addition to Maui.

New equipment, clean and sanitary with friendly staff.Any equipment that may temporarily unavailable due to some kind of malfunction is always dealt with.Cant beat the cost... its a win for me.

Love the Hydro bed.

It gets the job done, Im there 4 days a week. Some equipment is already worn down, ie the pads on the bicep curl machine. A simple cover would suffice. Can get busy at times Google peak hours are on target but it can die down quickly. Temperature is usually between 67-69 which I find is a great range for working out in. The music they play is not bad and not overly loud or to soft. I listen to my own music but on the occasion my earphones die their music helps me get through the session. Bathrooms are in okay condition. Wifi works well with no problems for me. There is a lot of parking available. I dont like how the hours change for the weekend as it throws off my routine which often leads to a missed gym day. Gym equipment doesnt have as much as 24 hour but for the price you would be hard to find anything remotely as close. The black membership is completely worth the double price. Always good to have a motivating gym buddy as a workout partner, with the black membership you can bring in a guest with you

Newest and cheapest gym in town actually on the island of Maui. There is plenty of workout equipment. Management is solid and on top of the maintaining malfunction machines. I noticed a busy trends and much slower trends around here, best times are 1pm-4pm and 8pm-12am, so far that the least people i seen during the times of afternoon and evening. Sometimes it gets very crowdy at this gym.Few things, sometimes drinking water filter is past the due change. Mens Bathroom/locker room needs more attention from management, it does get pretty dirty around there.

Yikes. Staff couldn’t care less that the locker rooms are very gross and dirty. All the replies on bad reviews are from corporate obviously, from people who aren’t even at this gym. We’re supposed to inform management but there’s no management to be found so what are we supposed to do? Tell the high school kids working that don’t care? I was told by a staff member today that they aren’t female so they can’t clean the female locker room. Seriously? Tell management to hire someone then that’s unacceptable and bad customer service. Ever since I joined this gym they’ve been nothing but unhelpful and uncaring except for one nice employee. Really bad

I really love this gym, I do believe its the best gym on maui, except there is one thing ! It is not very clean, at all !!! The dressing rooms and bathrooms are constantly dirty and I go to the gym 5 days a week and anytime I go its the same, dirty !!! Like no one ever cleans the floors or walls, especially the tanning beds and the total body enhancement beds, there the worst !!! They smell and the beds and floors are filthy, I wonder if they ever clean them at all.......I do love this gym, but I am thinking of canceling because of this issue......the staff dont really seem to care about it either......I wish I was the manager than things would change 100% ......

This gym is so awesome they. are 24/5 and also open on some holidays till 1pm, which is really helpful for people like me who love to workout. The bathrooms have someone in purple cleaning atleast every 30mins and the gym is the first gym that doesnt smell. I know they only opened in March but from then till now they have maintained a lot. They have been getting things fixed that have been broken for a long time which is also worth a 5 star review for effort. The staff is really cool and friendly I always run into Laynee and Quinn in the morning and they are always willing to help and the Managers Melissa and Jessica (Assistant) are nice and helpful too. I had a billing problem and Melissa helped me out in a timely manner. The gym is busy after work hours but with all the machines they offer everyone literally gets a turn. THANK YOU PLANET FITNESS!
