This is a must do if you’re visiting southern Florida. I’ve lived here all my life and I continue to come kayaking here and bring friends. It’s like kayaking in a Cypress Swamp in Florida hundreds of years ago. It’s truly old Florida. When time permits I like to put another car at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound and paddle all the way through. It’s not for beginners but it’s truly one of the best experiences in the entire state and I’ve been all over. I wish they would bring back that service… hint hint… 😎🛶🛶

10/10 would recommend visiting this park and would recommend renting a kayak and going down the river. We went here to do just that and it was our first time doing any kayaking activity and to say it was amazing doesn’t start to describe the experience! The staff was friendly and good at explaining where to go ! It is also affordable. It was a great way to end our vacation

A great spot for a Florida outdoor adventure. $50 for double kayak and $35 for single for 2 hours of paddling. Easy location to get to with a nice setup for rentals including bicycles. Kayaking area had lots of shade and even a Class 1 rapid in one area. Really enjoyable scenery.

10/10! I would definitely go again, such a beautiful pathway you take and I love how it’s shaded and such a great way to get out in nature. This was my first time and I can’t wait to go back. Staff super friendly too.

Had a great experience. The website was easy to use and from the time I arrived it was less than 5 minutes until I was in the water. The employees were knowledgeable and offered good advice about the river. I would definitely go back!

We rented 4 tandem kayaks and we had a great time. This was the first time since I have been in Florida that it actually looked like autumn! The river is easy but not too easy, has challenging parts. The gators are there with the turtles. It was a very enjoyable day. Couldnt ask for a better way to end the year!

The kayaking was great! It took us about 30 minutes to paddle down to the turn around point and then about 45 minutes to get back(its more work going against the current)! Overall it was a great experience! The river winds back and forth through trees that overhang throughout the trip. Its a peaceful experience and I will definitely go back again.

Kayaking riverbends via renting from Jupiter outdoor center is amazing. The staff is so kind, accommodating and understanding. Every time I come here I discover something new. This is the closest you’ll get to a jungle here in south Florida. I highly recommend. The canoe rentals are nice as well if you want a more chill float down the waterway. Lots of wildlife and beauty. I rented a canoe with my boyfriend and dad and it was a great time. We all fit in the canoe just fine. We went with the 4 hour rental, and even though we only used 3 of the 4 hours, Im glad we had the extra time to sit and relax and enjoy the river instead of having to rush back. Definitely wear bug spray and sunscreen and bring lots of water. The staff answered all the questions we had, which was a lot as it was our first time. We will be coming back

Awesome time with the family for a few hours which was just enough. Got through first dam with ease as water was high and turned around at the big tree that crosses the river. Paddle back was a good workout as current was really moving against us. Jennifer at the desk was great with what to expect.....and was as described! Thanks Jen

This was a blast!Started at about 1:20pm and left at 4:10. It was worth it. I went with (2) two other people who hadnt been on the water before so, I had to get them acclaimated because they are homebodies. Hahaha. I bought the 4 hr reservation to see how long I could keep them out there.The staff are extremely helpful as well and provided more technical expertise, as much as they could.We were self guided but I know that they do tours as well....It is so peaceful out here and everyone wears a smile on the water. Jupiter Outdoor Center has consistently provided outstanding service for an absolutely beautiful family kayak trip. The reservations are easy, the location is clean, the equipment is adequate, and their service is exceptional. We will always come back to experience the grand cypress trees along the stunning river! Huge park with lots of trails, including bike trails. The trails were marked and maps could be seen along them. The Riverbend trail was mostly shaded, and with few hikers. Picnic pavilions are available, as well as restrooms. Although lots of people were there, it didnt feel crowded. There was a small line at the canoe rental kiosk. Excellent place to scape for a while!

Great friendly staff, though it seems the prices went up since the last time we used them. All equipment is well maintained. Be sure so call first and see about river conditions. As well as, check weather. Its idea to bring a small dry box or dry bag for cell phone, keys, etc.

We had a great time. It was so beautiful. Lots of turtles, fish and birds. Peaceful and quiet ride in the park and a bit of the river. Will definitely go back and have already recommended to a friend.

We had an awesome time on the River for my birthday 7/31! JOC made everything great from booking online, to thoroughly explaining which direction to take once we were out there. We rented a 2 person canoe and look forward to trying the kayaks next time

Beautiful Park great place for anyone to paddle regardless of experience the only downside is that it is a bit crowded at times.

My sister was in town for a few short days so we booked a kayak tour through the Jupiter Outdoor Center. Our guide Jennifer was amazing. She was knowledgeable and patient since we were new to the sport. She made it so much fun. We have decided to book a second kayak event the next time my sister is back in town. Thank you Jennifer. We had a fantastic time on our kayaking tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and did a great job giving instructions for some first time kayakers (me lol). The equipment was in great condition and everyone who worked there was very nice. We will be back!

Great place to get out on the water under the shade of trees during the summer. Saw a baby manatee with mother and an alligator!!!

We had a blast today going on the Loxahatchee River kayak tour with Jennifer who was a superb guide and informative local who gave us good tips about the area. On our sweet two hour ride we saw about 7 alligators, many turtles, a blue heron and a huge Dragon Iguana. We amplified our fun by falling in by mistake! Great memories were made. We are returning to do the bike trails and rent more kayaks.

We had a wonderful time. Online reservations are so easy and checkin was fast. The River is beautiful! No complaints. Would recommend to anyone!

Our family of 6 rented kayaks last week and had a great experience. We split into two tandems and two singles and the staff was very helpful reviewing our options, walking us through the map, and getting us off the shore. What a gorgeous area; so relaxing that you dont even realize how close to civilization you actually are as you make your way along the river.

This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever done in Florida. It’s so different from the pool/beach scene. We rented some kayaks and spent a few hours exploring the river- we saw alligators, turtles, a snake, birds, and the beautiful flora and fauna. We almost bailed because we were terrified of the gators, but the women working reassured us that if we followed simple safety precautions, the risk of being attacked was very, very low. I was glad on the way back that I was in a tandem kayak because the current was moderately strong. I would have been fine on my own, but I was nice to be in a tandem. Can’t wait to visit again!! So beautiful.

Great customer service! Awesome experience. Pricing was fair. The river side may be a little tight on the weekends for new kayakers but the light house side is wide open. The river side is shallow and over by the mangroves on the light house side is shallow. On the river side alligators and turtles can be seen and on the lighthouse side, manatees (went in January) overall I would recommend Jupiter outdoor center. Will definitely be back.

Yoga with Shellie was an amazing experience. I loved her instruction, being under the palm trees, and being connected to the Earth. It was the perfect start of my day followed by a bike ride through the park with friends. I cant wait to visit again.

Everything is well maintained and the scenery was very nice. Great trails for biking and jogging.

Went with a large group on the weekend and had a guided tour. Candice was incredible. She took pictures and everything! What a beautiful spot ato spend the day. So many trees that it was shady as well. Will definitely be returning again!

Great spot for a lazy morning paddling around. Staff and service are excellent and left nothing lacking. Enjoy the low water levels and lack of current until wet season hits.

Very little to critique about this place. Great location and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Equipment is in good condition. The scenery that Jupiter provides is amazing. Great for going solo and in groups. But lots of other motorized boat traffic in surrounding area so be careful.

Holly, Rod and Candace were friendly and fabulous getting us set up and on the river. It was a great day. Large flows helped us speed downstream over both dams! Plus the manatee sighting was amazing! Highly recommend this experience!

What an experience. Very scenic. Close encounters with the wild life especially gators. Very very very strenuous, unless you know what your doing.

This is the best hidden treasure! The staff is so pleasant and always happy to help out. If you are looking for a place to kayak and truly be immersed in Floridas natural playground, this is the place. There is shade for most of the paddle and places to get out and stretch your legs. Depending on the current, you may have to work a little bit coming back. Cannot wait to go back!

My brother and I did a trip January 19th of 2021. We kayaked to the 2nd dam and then paddled upstream to get back. We saw lots of turtles (of course), several alligators sunning themselves and many types of birds. The river winds through beautiful areas. Staff was very helpful in recommending the route to take, and landmarks for the amount of time we had. The park has wonderful hiking trails too. Rental rates are very reasonable. We highly recommend this place.

We drove up from Broward County to go Kayaking at Riverbend Park but because we had an extra friend we had to rent a kayak at JOC. Initial interaction was decent enough, we asked if we had time as it was a little after 515pm on a Sunday and we were told to be back by 640pm. We were told wed just be charged for an hour although given the cost my wife was charged, I feel like that aligns more with 2 hours on the pricing chart.The reason for the less than stellar review was the way we were treated when we got back. (sorry I didnt catch names) The blonde surfer guy had a terrible attitude and was downright antagonistic. I dont know if they hadnt communicated with each other but the other guy with the hearing aids was very nice and had told me we could use their private ramp for our personal kayaks we had brought since we were renting there. The woman had mentioned that we could park right in front of their place to load and unload our other kayaks. Initially, I had unloaded by parking across the street because if I had unloaded where I was told I would have been blocking the exit of the parking lot. When I did that, all the kids had to cross the main road to get to the river.When we returned (EARLY, I might add at 630pm) some snide comments were made about how the rented kayak was filled with water. If it took on water, it wasnt by any fault of ours so I didnt appreciate the insinuation. I even helped carry it up to the hut and my step-daughter even got an attitude when she asked where to put the life vests.To load back up I opted to drive up onto the sidewalk to be out of the way of exiting vehicles while also avoiding the kids having to cross the street. I jokingly pulled up and startled my stepson and daughter when I pulled onto the sidewalk...the blonde guy came stomping out of the hut toward me very aggressively telling me to get off the wide open sandy area to load (mind you, this is where I assumed the woman meant when she told me we could load/unload there and no signs stating that I couldnt park there nor did he have the authority to tell me that but I still acquiesced.) No problem, I moved. What really upset me was when he implied that I didnt care about my own daughters well being for startling her when I pulled onto the sidewalk. How dare he...I have been racking my brain since yesterday evening as to what we did or said that could have caused the reaction. Rubbed him the wrong way?Maybe he didnt realize I had been told I could use their ramp and park there? I literally had no interaction with him before that. Maybe it was just a bad day for the guy...it happens.I gave 2 stars because the river is gorgeous and we did get to use a kayak from here but given the inexplicable treatment at the end of the outing, I would not likely consider going back. Again, there are a lot of 5 star reviews here so Im guessing it was an aberration or he had something personal going on but you cant take that out on customers.

Kayaking with Jupiter Outdoor Center at Riverbend Park is about as good as it gets. Tranquil, scenic, turtles, gators. Beautiful, fantastic afternoon.

This was our second time going. It was more expensive than last time. But what made it great was Andrew, he is awesome. The people that go here are awesome. Our canoe flipped over and complete strangers helped us, that wasnt the best part. The best part is when we got back to the stand and told them what happened and asked if they could help us. The lady there, she must have been the boss, said she would ask Andrew to help us and he did. He went back with me and found my bag, phone, keys and cards in the darkest part of the water. He is awesome. Thank you once again, for turning a bad situation into a good day.

Never done this before and I found the entire experience from website to river to be fantastic! The website was clear and intuitive, the staff was friendly and informative, the equipment was well kept up, and the river itself was free of debry. The paddling was scenic and gorgeous and other kayakers and canoers were friendly and helpful (when we got...a little stuck 😅.) I went with my wife and three of our friends (all novices) and we had a blast! I will definitely be returning for more river adventures.

The Jupiter Outdoor Center is an incredible way to get in touch with nature. See the beautiful world around you as you paddle around in a state of the art canoe or kayak. The staff is wonderful and owners are great. They bust their but to ensure Jupiter and the surrounding areas can have fun, outdoor activities without being bogged down by iPads and other indoor activities that all kids prefer today. Jupiter outdoor center is a great place to kayak! Very scenic yet challenging route that is covered with plenty of foliage to keep the heat away. Going down you are working with the current and on the way back against the current. The kayaks themselves are in great shape and have backs to them. Don’t forget to book your time slot as you won’t be able to just walk up and rent one.

We had a birthday party for my daughter’s 10th birthday. She and and five of her friends went kayaking with Candace who was great with children and extremely experienced. She took them on an age appropriate and exciting adventure and made her day extremely special. The kids all had a great time and it was an amazing experience overall! I would highly recommend JOC for any outdoor adventure

Had a beautiful day in the water kayaking all the way from Riverbend to the Boy Scout Camp. We have been waiting for the new outfitter JOC to offer this as we have done it many times before. A perfect day and JOC was very accommodating with their shuttleservice. Unfortunately Trapper Nelson’s was closed as it was a holiday but we sat on the dock and enjoyed lunch before the finalPaddle down river. Top notch service. Cannot wait to come back

Definitely my favorite place to kayak in this region! Such beautiful trails and every time I come back, I wonder why I kayak anywhere else. I really recommend going into the center of the park (if water levels permit). Just ask them to tell you where portage spot is. The rental place lent us a nice laminated map that helped a lot. The rental place is easy to find, conveniently located clean public restrooms, single or double kayaks and canoes right by the water. You won’t regret the trip!

Great kayaking experience. Went past the first little dam, which was very mild. Had to use the portage for the way back, which was a little tricky with a small child but very doable. The river was very scenic and bendy (can be a little tricky for beginners). An awesome experience!
