I requested a truck to be picked up 2 weeks in advance for a 600 mile move. When my driver went to pick it up at the specified time, the day before the move, there was no truck to be picked nor was an equivalent or better available to be offered. The next closest budget truck available was in Asheville 53 miles away. Neither I nor my driver was notified in advance that there wasnt a truck available to pickup which created a pretty severe logistical conundrum given I had to take off work and coordinate with family to execute this move. This lack of communication will make me hesitant to consider renting from Budget or picking up from this location again.
Returned truck at 3 pm and nobody was there and business hours are 9 to 5. Saying they would be back the next day at 9:15.thats not how a responsible people run a business. Would like to add they double charged us and because they closed early. They charged us for a extra day and refuse to return the over charge. They originally told us it would be 500 and change,we got a confirmation number to that and ended up paying over 1100 dollars. Called corporate and they even said we were over charged. Yet refused to make it right. To me, thats consumer fraud, knowing they did wrong and refuse to correct it. We will never use them again. Thats how they treat the elderly.
Best service ever. Thanks Glen!
This place had the best prices in the Tri-Cities. The elderly man that runs the place was super nice. I used a discount code when I booked which made the price even cheaper. Truck was in good shape. Final mileage was calculated and charged correctly, all was good!
Closed one hour early and budget didnt help online!!! Worst place to rent
The owner of budget on north roan street in jc is a crook, he lied to us all the way around about the package he gave us including mileage, our total price, how we would get our deposit in cash that we paid with cash, the ac didnt work worst truck rental ever and a thief.. btw his name is glen and hes the only one that works there, hes about 70
Decent truck rental, although the truck had not been cleaned before we got it.The additional costs of insurance should be noted on the website reservations page (but were not) as they effectively double the cost of the rental. The truck ran good, the fuel gauge was off by 1/4.No ramp to load with. One way return was very easy.
Our truck was not cleaned before we got it, because we found other peoples things in the truck when we got in. I was given a quote of $60 the first day, 70 the next. That was with my mileage overestimated by 15 miles. I took the truck back, and the man tells me its not fully enough. He says were supposed to make sure it is past the full line by shaking the truck and squeezing more in. He had $50 still to return to me, but insisted I give him another $50 or he was going to call the police and have us arrested. He did not do so, because he knows that that was not a valid complaint. I called the corporate office, and because the man went and put another two gallons of gas in the vehicle, they did not cooperate with me. They only returned $25. mr. Miller, who manages the Budget truck rental at this location, is a crook. He is extremely dishonest, and I will never rent from this company ever again. It was a terrible experience. They are thieves.
I was lured into Budget Truck Rental by an advertised rental rate of $19.95 per day. Before leaving the office I had paid $127.81, which included insurance and an appliance dolly. About a month later, I received a bill from Budget for an additional $425 in damages to the truck. First of all, I had the truck for six hours and returned it in exactly the same condition I received it. Secondly, I purchased insurance, which I tend to think is specifically for covering damage, which again, there was none. I’m deeply disappointed in Budget’s mode of operandi. It is truly sad when a business resorts to deception and then attempts to pilfer their customers.Youll be much better off going to a reputable rental company that reveals the entire cost up-front.
Save yourself the trouble. Guy said he can only take cash when reserved with card and to give him $150 for a $50 rental. Also told me I had to get all these insurances I didn’t need. Told me that Uhaul is the same way and they aren’t. Drive the extra mile and go to uhaul.
My daughter rented a truck to move to Florida and the tire went flat in Georgia. It took 6 hours for anybody to show up and they just got a bill in for 800 to fix the tire. Never again
Very unkind man
