Our son has been attending this karate school for a year and a half. The instructor, Sensei, is fantastic!! He cares for the kids and helps instill core values, along with allowing them to have fun. Mr. TJ is also great!! They both interact well with the parents too, so you feel like you’re a part of class. The schedule is very conducive to my work schedule, offering later classes than any other school I’ve seen. We never want to go anywhere else!!

My son loves taking classes here! Sensei is excellent at instilling discipline while still making sure the kids have fun. I have and will continue to recommend them to others.

Serious training in a fun and inviting environment. All three of my children have trained here(2 are still training). I liked it so much i started as well. My thought is USA Karate is the best self defense training in the area at the best price.

Excellent for all personality types! I have two children attending. One is shy and super quiet. The other has trouble standing still and is very talkative. So, this experience has been a wonderful one for both of my kids. The shy one is slowly building confidence in herself, and the other is learning to focus. I have seen kids crying because they want to participate, but are super scared, and they are all beaming and smiles in 20 minutes or less. We are super impressed with this place, and feel the price is very reasonable as well.

USA Karate is amazing! My son loves coming to class. His instructors are very knowledgeable and great with kids! We couldn’t be more pleased!

My son has been in many sports, and nothing seemed to take for him. We found karate by accident, but it has been the best thing for him. He is now more self-assured, and feels capable of defending himself. He is more respectful of authority than most teenagers, and has made life-long friends at this school. Shihan Curt Malyar has a great program. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We LOVE USA Karate. My son loves it, and I appreciate the way they teach. We drive over an hour so he can go twice a week, and it’s totally worth it!

My son started when he was in Kindergarten. The instructors are excellent in working with young children. I really appreciated how they teach manners along with karate. My son gained a lot of confidence throughout the years we have attended.

My nephew is 8 and has been coming here since he was 4. Fantastic environment for kids and adults to learn and gain knowledge in martial arts. We have always been very satisfied with the programs offered and the encouragement the instructors give all of their students..

My grand daughter has taken lessons for over 4 years and is now a six degree junior black belt. The lessons have made her confident in her self. It has helped with focusing and many, many more skills. Not only do The instructors get respect from the students but also their parents

I am a student at USA Karate. I have been going here for seven years and I absolutely love it! What they teach is useful, helpful, and fun to learn. And I am proud to be a student at this school.

My daughter, who is now 8, started her karate here when she was about 3 and a half. Upon starting I was asked where i would like to see improvements in my daughter and for us it was behavioral of course. We went from looking at behavioral therapy to bypassing that with the help of the instructors and I now have a well behaved junior black belt. I cant say enough good things. This isnt your typical karate class. They teach so much more besides kicks and punches. I would recommend them to anyone.

My grandson whom we are raising loves it. You can see his confidence build daily.

My son has went there since he was 4. We started him out for guidance in discipline, respect etc. They help mold these kiddos into great young adults. I’ve seen it with the kids who are older, that have also went there for a long time. Now my son is 10 and he is learning how to defend himself and has fun with the friends he has made there. Greatest sensai’s and Sheehan around!

We have been going here for about 6 months and have had a great experience. Sensei And Shihan are great with my young kids. They are patient with them but also tough when they need to be. I would recommend anyone looking into a Martial Arts studio to try USA Karate in Johnson City.

I have been a student here for around two years and it has been an amazing experience all around. The instructors knowledge in both the martial arts, and human physiology is quite impressive to say the least. This combination allows them to teach you not only how to preform the techniques, but also allows a deeper understanding of why they work. The style taught combines the most effective parts of Ishin Ryu Karate, with the highlights of Western martial arts such as boxing and wrestling, leading to a diverse skill set in in all of these disciplines. The head instructor has decades of experience under his belt, and knows how to handle just about any scenario one could think of. In addition to the karate classes, there is a designated time for a kickboxing workout, which has helped me personally get into significantly better shape and shot my endurance through the roof. All in all this school is an amazing resource for anyone seeking to learn effective self defence, or improve their physical fitness, and has mastered the art of passing on the requisite skills and knowledge to its students.

Curt Malyar knows his stuff! He is great with the kids! Fun environment to learn confidence and discipline.

Sorry I have to give one star. I quit taking my child, so they turned me over to collections for $1,314. They argued with me on facebook for leaving a negative review. I do NOT recommend.
