PF has an easy (check-in),using their phone app. The Equipment is maintained & the staff almost,always greets you while a smile! Plenty of treadmills & cardio machines. The only negative: This location needs more lifting bechs & a designated core area.

Great people work there. A lot of options to get a great workout. I like being a black card member because I can tan first and then use the hydro massage bed after a good workout. Feels great!

This is a beautiful, immaculate gym! I would highly recommend becoming a member here if you live in the area! The black card membership is the best and the staff and members are so friendly! This is the best gym I have ever been a member of!!

Went in for a tour of the facility. I found it it to be too dark and the machines tok crowded together. I wi not be getting a membership here. I gave it 3 stars up, because it was quiet there

6 staff members standing around front desk nagging about silly rules like walking out front door for two minutes and having to sign back in but yet one of them cannot clean the filthy bathrooms. Management should nag the staff more and customers less.The way the machines are set up in this smaller space is not good they definitely need to work on organization. It’s really cramped in peak hours

Went to this place yesterday new here only been in Tennessee a little over a week was able to sleep here with no trouble for Access managers okay great fitness center friendly professional people natural good place to work out it seems if I ever get well I might come here and sign up for the yearly program which seems reasonable about $39

I havent actually joined yet the people at the counter could be a little nicer. I asked the lady about joining the club and she walked over to the guy and talked real low and looked in my direction. Then the guy came over and explained a few things. I will join the 10 dollar plan so I can cancel if im not satisfied. Talking low and looking in my direction just.made me feel uneasy.

I was not impressed by the tour we received. I did not feel welcomed or that anyone would help me in the future. Dark, uncaring staff, and so much purple!

Where to Start? I complained about someone using the 30 min express stations to sit on and text on his phone for at least 5 min at a time. A guy was sent to address him..in front of me...so I told the dude I complained. When I was leaving I stated to the guy at the desk that this guy in the 30 min express area was also cleaning the stations Prior to use not after use. I seen the woman and another guy worker behind the desk speak about me and make rude i cant believe she complained faces.. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Maybe they should be enforcing the rules instead of being on their phones sitting and talking to each other behind the desk all day. At my Planet Fitness in PA this would never have happened.

The attendant at the front wouldnt even allow me to use a different tanning bed than he put me in when they were all open and Im a black card member. Said he had to rotate lights. Never had worse service at any Planet Fitness and I frequently use different locations.

Of the times that I have been there, its been very pleasant. Since I have just started to get on track to body building, I usually have found that going on around 4:30-5:00 a.m. is the perfect time to get a workout in. There is hardly anyone there at those times, but if your going to take training seriously, Id recommend getting up early and going to sleep early. Makes you feel a lot better when you get into a groove.

The place was dirty. The mens room smelled like urine and sweat. Also beware when I went to spray the machine clean, the liquid looked different. I sprayed some on my hands and then also smelled the paper towel. To my surprise it was definitely WATER!!!! If you go just be careful and sanitize with your own stuff. If you notice but their response didnt address the locker rooms Hope this helps.

Staff is great! They are there if you need but if you dont they let you do your thing without bother. Weights, tanning beds and massagers oh my! Haha

HORRIBLE customer service. Refuses to let me cancel my membership. Couldnt cancel in person because of covid and cant go inside now because I dont live in the same state. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Theyve STOLEN over $400 from me and still refuse to cancel my membership. Im sure they wont cancel because they like the money.

Today 03/30/2021 I came into the gym to cancel my membership due to me moving from Clarksville, TN to Chuckey, TN and the drive would be about 35 minutes. When I came in I had a disabled individual with me and one of the ladies (short red hair) said, you have to put a mask on him! And I was like he is not going to put one on he does not have to at the doctors, hospital, or anywhere else but she was persistent. I just think that is ridiculous because there were people working out with no mask on, last time I checked we are all in the same building and breathing the same air. Its sad that some people still do not know how disabled individuals are and that you are never going to make them do something.

Staff was extremely helpful, nice clean center, overall experience was great! Look forward to visiting every time I come to johnson city

I travel for work and have been to around 20 different PF locations. This is the worst one I have ever been to. Totally outdated. Inconsistent enforcement of mask policy. Existing members checking in take back seat to members singing up.

My home gym is Kingsport, TN. However Im closer to Johnson City when I work, I would have liked having more of an updated version like kingsport has, however still a great atmosphere and a great place to get an early morning workout in.

Staff are rude. Management is worse. Equipment is not very adequate. Cleanliness and upkeep are poor. False advertisement. Do not follow CDC guidelines at all and not compliant with TN recommendations for business operating during a pandemic. Just a sad excuse for a business. Seems cheap but isnt worth it. I recommend not giving this junk joint your hard earned money. They take advantage of people.

Gyms great, but some of the employees don’t know how to treat customers. I was told to not use pf express if not used properly which is totally understandable, but there’s no reason to tell me twice within 10 seconds of me sitting there and with an attitude. My friend had the same thing happen to him he goes to a different gym now.

Always a good gym day here at JC PF. At least in the evening I find its not overly crowded. Staff are friendly and fairly proactive.

Planet fitness in Johnson City is a very friendly and clean gym to workout. the staff there is very friendly and courteous to you at all times. being a senior and a member for 5 years. I can say is an excellent gym and very non-judgmental.

***** STAY AWAY!! This is the nastiest place I have ever been to. Been working out for a awhile here. Staff is always super rude to everyone. They don’t clean anything. Bathrooms always has stuff everywhere. Mold in showers. Management could care less. There are many gyms in the area and if you don’t heed the reviews and stay away from this place at all costs it is on you.

Barely anyone wearing masks or social distancing. Dont go unless youre vaccinated and WEAR A MASK.

I like planet fitness but this is definitely the worst one Ive ever been to. The staff is nice but extremely annoying, they will constantly try to correct you and judge you on everything you do. Ive seen people be asked to stop jump roping because they were not using a planet fitness jump rope but using their own lol and all sorts of silliness like that. I have a small case that I have to keep a injectable medicine in due to seizures that I have to keep nearby when exercising. I have been told I cannot bring out on the floor because the fire hazards 🤷🏼‍♂️ and been asked to go put it in a locker. I like to workout to get rid of stress, but I always feel more stressed after visiting this gym.

Good prices! Staff are very thorough on cleaning/sanitizing frequently. Clean bathrooms.TVs and music on always. People keep to themselves and you can work out in a comfortable environment. Hydromassage is amazing!

I have been going to this location for almost 2 months and I had a very bad experience with an employee this evening that i will never step foot back in the doors. He was very rude and kept trying to talk over me and would not resolve my issue. I will be going elsewhere and will never recommend this location to anyone

Great place and love the beds

At the moment they are requiring masks to be when while working out. Theyre offering to freeze accounts of members who prefer to work out mask free until the mandate is lifted, but I didnt find it very difficult to work out with a mask at all.

Best gym Ive ever been to. Every one is friendly. Never had a problem with any equipment. The temperature stays just right. Just overall a really great experience and has stayed that way for over a year now that Ive been going.

I love this gym. Technically its the only gym Ive been to but its simply amazing. The staff is very friendly and the equipment is easy to use. I love the stand up tanning bed also. The price is also amazing. Im a black card member and its 24.15 a month and that includes everything they offer plus I get to bring a friend and they get to work out for free.

Im giving this 3 starts because I am torn with the service. I went to this Planet Fitness for a long time as a Black Card Member and the employees are great and location is clean. My problem is that I became pregnant last year and between that and Covid, have been unable to go to the gym. I meant to cancel the membership in May but forgot (which is completely my fault); however, I went to PF on July 2nd after leaving the doctor due to some complications and canceled the service because it is right across the street from my doctors office. After checking my account, I realized they charged the annual membership fee on July 1st. I understand contractual agreements and why it was charged but I called to see if the fee could be canceled since they got plenty of my money in previous months of me not using the membership but the guy said I should have just canceled it sooner. It was just a very disappointing experience considering how it was before, especially now that we need the money.

The company is really bad about taking peoples money and refusing to refund you or help at all BUT the gym it’s self is always clean and the workers are super nice!!! Make sure to wear a mask cause most people here don’t

Stopped in with my Black Card while on a trip. Smaller than the one I go to in VA but the compact size made for a good workout atmosphere. Staff were nice for the short interaction I had with them. Good experience.

This is a nice gym. The only issue I have is, there are always too many people and too few machines. The machines at the front for actual weight lifting are always occupied. Overall a decent gym.

Clean, drama free place to work out

Great gym and they offer so much for monthly rate. 24/7 operations make it easy to workout anytime and have very knowledgeable trainers and staff available to you. Black card is best value, giving not only training, but free massage bed and chairs, as well as free tanning. The only drawback is lengthy agreement time and no pool or sauna/steam area. Parking is good and has many places to eat, shop or stay in walking distance.

This gym is a very relaxed environment and makes exercising easier. You can even get guidance from different classes with trainers. They offer a membership where you get tanning and aqua massage included as well as a certain percentage off items you buy. Even with their basic membership, you get access to the full gym and classes. Also I recommend their gym bags! They are super nice and only $10!

Signed a one year contract. It was too far away from my house and always way over crowded. So 6 months in, I got a gym membership at another place and paid for both gyms even though I never went to planet fitness anymore. But it would have been almost as much to cancel it than it would be to just keep it so I kept it in case I ever wanted to go. I was relieved whenever my one year membership was up, so I could finally only pay for one gym. Well they keep taking the money out. I specifically go online and check to make sure that it doesn’t auto renew. The lady I call say it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t say they don’t auto renew they just keep taking the money out anyways until you cancel and won’t refund the money because I signed a contract. Yeah, for one year with no auto renewal I didn’t sign any contract for more than that. Anyways then I ask to cancel my account and she says I have to specifically drive there and cancel my account. I now live 45 minutes away from planet fitness and I’m going to have to go out of my way to cancel a plan that should have been cancelled in the first place. They don’t care about anything but their money, absolutely ridiculous

I like planet fitness and the 24/7 and what it offers but with the trainer? what kind of a so called fitness trainer stands at the front desk for 2 hours on and off of his phone not doing nothing or even trying to help people. You should at least be asking questions or try to do something productive at least and make people feel like you are there for them.I see why nobody wants to take classes. Not the first time I have seen this and probably wont be the last. Needs a trainer with passion a personality and love for the job this will help boost member sign ups and keep them coming back. I also love that you can bring a guest for free as well makes it simple and easy to bring a friend or family member.

I love that we can take showers after our exercises w/o the all access membership. Some people, like myself, just want to exercise & dont tan. I feel like Planet Fitness is the best place to workout, Ive never felt so comfortable in a gym before. The aqua massage bed and tanning are a great bonus.

This is the first gym membership Ive had and I really enjoy it. The most important thing for me was to have a place thats open 24 hours a day since I work nightshift. They have that and they have a wonderful price. They have all the general weights and machines anyone could need and it all comes at a super reasonable price.

This gym is a nice and in a great location. Equipment is new and well taken care of. It could be bigger given the number of members but it does the job. With the black card membership (20$) you get a free guest every-time you go along with tanning and access to the massage chairs/aqua massage. For just ($10) you get full access to gym.

I didnt care much on I was told to bring my account and routing number by some guy and then I have all my information she told me I needed a voided check to sign up so it made me feel as if she didnt want me to join this so called non judgement gym when I work like any other hardworking American I guess she didnt want my kind in the gym

I am the guest on my husbands membership. I just have to give my phone number when I get there and Im set!I can also use his email for the wifi. 😎Its always very clean. And even if there are a lot of people it doesnt feel too crowded.

If I could give Zero stars I would. At first the people were nice. But only at the time of sign up. After that they pretty much ignore everyone and constantly talk amongst themselves. Beware of the contract as well. I was told i had to pay an extra month when in fact i was already out of contract. When I stated that could be a legal issue I was met with attitude. There was never an apology after this. So be forwarned this is not a place you want to go.

New review.Sunday September 7, I had just got back from out of town and stopped by the gym. There was an employee talking with another customer while I was waiting for her to scan my card. The employee was showing the customer something on her cellphone and completely ignoring me standing there.Finally, another employee who was talking with different customer about something gym related noticed me standing and he promptly offered to scan my card.This is the second time I have had a female Planet Fitness employee ignore me. And it falls on the male staff to do their job for them.But no, it gets better (well actually worse). I normally bring water with me, but forgot this particular time. So I went to pay for a bottle of water from the cooler, and a different female for some reason was eager to tale my payment. She asked for my card and I thought this was surprising because as a Black Card member I get a discount on drinks but they never asked for my card before. I thought at that moment maybe she did not know or that was the way it was supposed to have been done, etc.After she scanned my card for what would be a second time, instead of asking for the buck for the water, she apparently discovered that my dues payment for August had not been paid and promptly made sure everyone around know about the fact like I was a crook or something. She also said it was in collections. Really?!This was surprise for me because the money is autodebited from my account not my debit card so I usually do not get an alert when a payment comes out, but I do when it is declined. I had previously called sometime in July and spoke with them that I would have to make Augusts payment late because my pay day arrangements with my employer had changed. I came in to pay it 3 days after it was due, but was told by another female employee that I was good. Exact words.I assumed they were able to draft it after all. Admittedly, I should have checked my account to make sure the money was actually subtracted, but I cannot imagine them telling me that I did not owe anything when I did, so I let it pass.In any regard, I will not stand for this sort of humilation. I am going to pay them off, and see if I can find a gym that is not staffed with arrogant and entitled females.This may sound like some kind of woman hate rant, but to be honest the male staff at the Johnson City Planet fitness are nice, cut jokes with you and have never made me feel unwelcome. So far the female staff have either ignored me, are just plain unfriendly, and now make me feel like a crook.

Clean place to work out that is open 24/7. Works for me and what I need!I will the say the dumbbells only go up to 75 so if you are wanting to lift heavy this would not be the best place for you.

Love the atmosphere! It’s clean. Staff are friendly. Tammy did my tour and was very nice, funny and informative. She told me all about the equipment & pointed me in the right direction. She greets me with a smile & something to laugh at EVERYTIME I go during her shift! Chantelle is also funny & friendly! I give Planet Fitness at 5star!

Great gym. Lots of equipment, always open and staffed and their no judgement/no intimidation rules actually work and help me to feel quite comfortable there. There’s something for everybody there and the little added perks of the hydro massage bed and the tanning make this place the complete package.

Beware, go for a more costly gym. It will cost you less in the long run. its my fault for forgetting about it but the annual fee drained my account for the two of us that were customers second was rejected. That was bad but not terrible. Then they tried to deduct the monthly fee. It was rejected. I only keep enough in the account for monthly expenses so every time a transfer is rejected I get charged 30$. This was my fault. But, I received no email or notifications. Then they really started to screw me over. Over the next two weeks I got 420$ overdraft fees from my bank from planet fitness... All without any notifications. By the time I got back into town and found out about the problem I had lost 600$ due to this company. And I couldnt even cancel the membership until I paid them 20 extra dollars. So call it 620.00$ for one month. But dont worry, the other 11 months are only 10$. Like I said beware.

The gym is clean and the staff are friendly. I temporarily had to cancel my membership, which was becoming a lengthy and frustrating process, but the staff here took the initiative to talk to their manger, to call me, and get it taken care of. Should I need a gym in the area again, this will be the first place on my list.
