Share reviewEmbed reviewWrite an updateEdit reviewI can usually fix our computer problems. However, we just bought a new computer with Windows 10. I didnt want to deal with bringing over our Windows 7 files to an operating system I wasnt familiar with so we decided to take our computers to The Computer Man. So glad we did! For a very reasonable fee our new computer is up and running. Mary is so friendly and easy to deal with. Joe was great about answering all my questions. I would highly recommend this business!

Tom and Mary have been our go to people for our computer needs. We have purchased every one of our computers from them. They have repaired every one of them that have needed to be repaired. We feel their prices are reasonable and have gotten the work done in a timely fashion. Our software protection is provided by their program. The people that work there are so nice and friendly to us. The store is clean and set up so you can see what is offered. I would recommend The Computer Man to all.

I brought my computer in for a virus removal and was told 5 business days. It had been about 3 weeks and my computer was still not fixed. I was finally I was told that the virus may be removed but now the screen doesn’t work. But it can’t be verified that the virus was removed until they replace the converter board on the computer and get the display back. I picked up the computer from the shop because I did not want them to take another 3 weeks to replace the converter board and charge me extra money to fix a problem that the computer did not have when I brought it to them. The only good thing they did was tell me what the part number was for the board that needed to be replaced.Update: I removed the converter card from the computer and looked at the LED display driver chip. There was physical damage to the chip across pins 7-13 where it looked like a screw driver had been pushed against the pins damaging there connection. This was most likely due to the cover of the computer being pried open with a screw driver as the side of the computer also had damage in the same location. I brought the part down to the owner and he still denied that it was a problem that was caused one of his technicians, and that the part was just faulty. In the end I was refunded the cost of the new converted board that I ordered to replace the damaged one.

The hard drive on my trusty ASUS desktop finally bit the dust after 11 years of faithful service. I told the business owner that I had a recent Windows 10 Image file and repair disk, but he did not want to use them. I ended up purchasing a new mid-level desktop that ended up costing over $1100!Build time was suppose to be 3 to 5 days, which turned into 5 to 7 days, which turned into well call you when it is ready. I finally received the new unit 9 days after purchase. The Computer Man was able to transfer the data from my old hard drive to the new system. Now heres the rub... just for the heck-of-it, I purchased a new Western Digital 1 TB Blue drive and a new CMOS battery. With the new components installed in my old system, I used my Windows Image File and repair DVD to restore the data. The process went perfectly! Total time was 90 minutes!!! Total cost was $53!Yes the new system is faster, but is it worth the extra $1125.00 and a 9 day wait? I doubt it. I think if I install a solid state drive in my old ASUS, it will be on par with the new system. I spent another $19 on the old system and made it wireless.Everyone I interacted with at the Computer Man was courteous and polite. It boils down to value. IMHO, the new system does not offer $1100-worth of increased value.I am almost 70 years of age; if I can repair a computer you can also. If you have proper/recent backups, then I would suggest you attempt it yourself and maybe save yourself a ton of money.
