We had a water leak on the main level of our home which caused water damage to our kitchen and finished basement. The came in with air handlers that facilitated drying the affected areas of the house.

I kept asking for an amount that it was going to cost me and the guy told me not to worry about it they wouldnt leave me with a huge bill in the end and as soon as he had insurance checks in his hands he gives me a bill for over $2000. To our family that is a huge bill at the end. Not satisfied with them as general contractors at all!Their guys did a good job but leaving our family with this big bill is not acceptable. Especially when I asked the man on several different occasions during our repair process how much it was going to be costing us. He knew what it was going to be when he estimated the job but never once gave me a final $$ amount.

They never called back so I got BioPure to do the house. Ill give. BioPure a 5 star though.I left my name and phone number with the lady that answered and was told Id get a call back. That was 2 weeks ago.

When my basement flooded due to ground water, I called ServiceMaster. It was late on a Sunday night and explained my options to me and the most cost effective way to handle my issue. After attempting to resolve the water problem myself, I called back and they sent someone out right away. They were so professional, knowledgeable, and comforting. They have wonderful customer service as they checked in with me on a daily basis and did a lot of hand holding along the way. Their follow up was exceptional as well. I will recommend them to anyone I talk to.

You hope to never need to make that phone call. But when its raining in your basement because water is pouring out of your freezer above it, its reassuring to know you already know who to make the call to. ServiceMaster Restoration was there in minutes. They cleaned up the water immediately and walked us through every step of the resolution. Ken (at ServiceMaster) was excellent to deal with. My house was completely destroyed by water damage and had to be gutted entirely and rebuilt almost from the ground up. Nor telling other things that was not other people business. He should have kept my business between he and I not other people in the office where I live.

Service Master Restoration by Carefree may be great at cleaning carpets but that is where it stops. January 2015 I had a pipe break in the house. They were contracted by the Landlord to clean up the water and repair the subsequent damage. They did great with the water clean up but thats where the service ends. For the next part, the actual home repairs, it has been a nightmare - It is now June, and they still have not fixed everything to the Landladys or my satisfaction. Several appointments had to be made to complete the work over several weeks when the reality is, the repairs should not have taken more than a week. They subbed out the small amount of flooring in the laundry room that needed to be repaired. Not only did the repair man put a tear in the new flooring, he damned near flooded my place again by not re-connecting the washer properly. they still have not replaced the insulation in the crawl space, nor said how they are going to compensate for the torn flooring. Its now June 2015 and we are still dealing with. They should just stick to carpet cleaning and leave restoration to those that actually know how to do it.

My mother had a small flood. Nathan came to her house and was so professional. He called his crew and they took care of us quickly. The water was removed and they took steps above and beyond to make sure she was happy. Nathan made sure that the air was clean for her too. For all nathan and servicemaster did i am grateful. ServiceMaster did an excellent job on my water damage due to a leaky air conditioner. The ceiling fell in on my sons nursery and it was a disaster. Brian and his team took care of everything. We had a water line to break and it put about 2 of water all over our downstairs. Servicemaster was here about an hour after our call. They just took over and got right to work. These guys worked several hrs a day till they were satisfied. They kept us updated on everything they were doing so we would have no surprises. They were polite, very friendly and showed concern for us. They even called back 2 or 3 times days after they were finished to see if we needed anything and to check on how things were coming alone. Would highly recommend them and would use them again if we ever needed too.

Our experience with Servicemaster has been a very frustrating one. The reason we contacted them...all the positive reviews on here. Made contact in March due to significant water damage from frozen water lines. Met with project manager on the 15th of March for walk through. He did tell me that they were 6-8 weeks behind and that it could possibly be reduced. He was told that was fine as long as he was upfront and honest about time frame and he kept me informed. He said hed have estimate by that Friday or Monday. We nor insurance recieved it until the 28th. That was after making numerous calls and sending a stern email. The adjuster also got involved with the hold up. We patiently waited and waited. No contact had been made at all for updates or reassurance during the time frame given. I called May 17 and left message. Nothing. I sent email. Nothing. I called main office number and got him on phone on the 23rd. I was told that a person could be there the next day. Finally!! The work tearing out walls in 2 of the 4 rooms with damage started May 24th and stopped May 25th. There were some minor issues that we needed to address. The issues involved 2 electrical outlets and 4 feet of wood wall framing. The electrical was resolved by the end of the day on the 25th. We had the wood framing replaced on the 26th. We were told that work would resume the 29th. There wasnt any work or contact made from the 25th-31st other than estimate for a change in material, which had issues and had to be redone. I called May 31 very frustrated due to all the smoke blowing and lack of communication and no work being done. During that phone call I found out that the project manager, after a little back and forth, overlooked, forgot, or disregarded an entire room of walls that are to be removed and replaced. He also had excuses for the lack of communication and work and he tried to put that off on us. He was told during walk through that different material was desired for the walls. He waited until the 24th of May to have the worker that was there to talk it over with us, which apparently wasnt conveyed correctly since his estimate had to be refigured. The reason for the refigure was that we had previously stated that we would seal and paint the new material ourselves, but he added it to estimate. He also added crown molding to the estimate that shouldve been on insurance estimate. The sealing and painting of the drywall was the only work we said that we would do. Our insurance policy with State Farm has covered ALL of the cost for the water damage minus material change. I was told last week that a meeting for carpet would be set up, hasnt been done. Our work has yet to be completed, but I definetly would not recommend Servicemaster Restore doing any renovations. Our property has been uninhabitable for months due to our patience with waiting on work to be completed by this company. The lack of and disregard of communication and the excuses made in our situation is absolutely ridiculous.(7/1) Folks, make sure you know how to read your estimates and document everything. Know that detach and reset, means exactly that. R&R, means remove and replace (new). Know that if insurance company has approved the $ for work, SM is suppose to do the actual work or they dont receive the $. Period. Know that you do not have to accept poor quality work. Keep in contact with your insurance reps and ask questions about your claim. Never trust hows that sound? Or that you and your insurance are being done a favor. Know that if you leave a negative review, you will be swiftly contacted and prepare to know your stuff and defend. Its likely who contacts you will only be half informed and will be winging it. Attempting to intimidate you with false info due to the swift hast and need to post a response. Know that SM is working for you, not for or with your insurance. Our claim cannot be the only unprofessionally handled one. I think I will attend Nathans ethics course because Ive clearly missed something about moral principles.
