Had a great experience. Called around to two other shops in southern Indiana. They wouldnt be able to fix till middle of next week. Tony said he could look at it tomorrow. He got it in and finished within 3 hours. Dropped off and picked up the same day. The alternator needed to be replaced. Anyone looking for good service go to tony. Tell em Aaron sent you.
Awesome mechanic that fixes what you need fixed and doesnt sell you stuff you dont.
Fair prices. Sound advice. And BLAZING fast.
Lets get one thing straight: this is NOT a review based on emotion and or resentment. I also do not encourage defamation to local businesses because well, its hard enough as it is with the consistent competition in this area. About 90% of the content in my reviews are based simply on facts and facts alone. The customer service here is wonderful and they do get the repairs done in a very timely manner, which for me, is ALWAYS a plus for any mechanic. It takes me at least 3X as long to do any job (i.e. lack of proper tools, equipment, other daily priorities). Thats why I go to a mechanic in the first place! My mother and sister have used this shop before and spoke highly of it, so I took my car there. Apparently there was a leak involving the intake manifold. I wont say the price that he quoted me, but ultimately, it just about exceeded what the car was worth. To be fair, it was about the same price I paid when me and Hector installed an engine in the vehicle many moons ago. So naturally, this didnt make any sense to me. The issue involved the intake manifold. I might as well work for Lincoln because I read their service manuals like its the Bible (the r in Ford stands for repairs btw) so I bought a compression kit and tested the intake and compression was solid. The problem isnt the intake, which they wanted to replace entirely, but a hose that is kind of a pain to get too behind the alternator that you kind of have to fish out from the back near the heater core. Went online, bought the hose for $30 bucks* and its been good to go ever since. The second issue was with the control arm bushings and lower ball joints on my truck, which he said would be about $1200 to replace. Hate to say this about myself, but Im poor! I bought the entire upper and lower control arms (easier to replace whole arm than the bushings given the tools I have) for the front end suspension for about $300 and replaced it myself. Yes, it sucked. Yes, it took my weekend away from me, but I did it for 1/4 of the price quoted. To be fair, I think ANY mechanic will charge a high price for any suspension work (i.e. my brother took his truck to another shop down the street that charged $700 for all rotors and pads to be replaced). This review was really just about my car though. I believe he said to some effect itd be best to get a new one. He said that to my sister and she she did exactly that. Not me. Too poor and I honestly love my car. Piece of junk that it is, its done me well in the past (I used to drive students to Chicago and back when I was in college at IU) and I hope to keep it that way. Now, if you have a 5.4 Triton 3V going bad....thats a different story but Ive found a way to bulletproof these engines but doing so is....well, just get a new car ;)
Ive know Tony half his life and he treats customers right! Wont take my cars to anyone else.
Wanted to add a little noise to my 2012 Camaro. Called and spoke with Tony and he said bring it on down and he would get me going. Gave me a fair quote over the phone to remove resonators and replace with pipes. After doing all the work the system had a slight rattle but Tony knew exactly what the issue was.He welded the dampeners open and everything was just as promised.Did the extra work at no extra cost.Super fast, courteous and fair. Would recommend to all! Thanks Tony!!!
About half the time when you call you will get someone really rude, and the other time you will get someone nice. They told me they would have the issue figured out on my car within an hour so I called after 55 minutes and asked if they knew anything, and they got angry with me saying that these things take time. Then two minutes later they called me and told me what the problem was. I spent over $400 to fix my car and it ran great for a day and then I got stranded on the side of the road 4 times in a week because of the issue that they were supposed to fix. I took it back and they told me they would look at it but they didnt even run a systems check or anything, they just waited to see if it would do anything weird when starting it. I had to get a new car.
Been going to Tonys for more than 25 years. He will do his best to get you fixed and on the road in a timely manner. I highly recommend!
Joe and Tony were great! Fast and friendly! Nice, clean shop and lobby. Will definitely recommend!
My Ebay exhaust sounded like a prop plane taking off 😂. I wanted to vomit listening to it. Tony and his shop helped give it to me straight with no BS 👌 They took off the rusty ol ebay special muffler and installed a replacement I nabbed online. The whip looks and sounds better than ever before! Couldn’t have asked for anything more and Tonys shop was recommended and for good reason. Really helped me out 🤘
Delightful. I have been going to Tonys since 1995! The best Auto Service in Jeffersonville!
Had a leak in the exhaust on my back up car. Didnt want to spend a ton to fix it and was pressed for time. Stopped in, no appointment, told what I would like to get done and was out in less than hour, noise free and spent just over $100. Great service, honest, and solid work.
10 months ago, took a Jeep Wrangler in and asked for a quiet exhaust. The shop installed an OEM muffler and tail pipe. 2 weeks ago I took the vehicle in because the exhaust had started to sag into my driveshaft. $100 to fix... Today, the vehicle was taken back in because the tail pipe hanger had come loose, and was informed that I now need another new muffler and tailpipe, be ause its all been moving around, and thats going to be another $160. This is the very same thing they installed, and repaired, and now want to replace again.Nope.
Great Service and very helpful. Fixed an issue that I had taken to another local shop by finding the root cause and not putting a band-aid on the issue. It was actually cheaper fixing it right. I recommend them to anyone looking for good work at a fair price.
Cant go wrong with Tony and my dude. Ive never had to come back with the same problem, ever. Hes the only professional mechanic Ive ever let work on my vehicles, 20 years and Ive never had to come back for the same problem, unless it was me killing break pads. Ive never had to even consider going anywhere else.
It was a quick in and out today. Been here with a couple of my cars. Great service and price.
Great service everytime!
Parents been going to them for 30 years! They are awesome
These guys were quick, professional, and there was literally no BS associated with the process! Id recommend them to anyone in the Jeffersonville/Clarksville/Louisville area.
Nice and friendly. Fair priced
My exhaust started sounding awful took car to Tonys and had to have 2 pieces of pipe cut and welded ended up costing me around $160 which is a competitive price but this shop did a good job with it. All and all would visit again if I had another issue I could not fix myself
They were very honest people that got my truck fixed quickly thanks I will definitely be back
Tonys Auto Repair is a fraud. Do not EVER take your car here for anything. I had a simple rust issue that caused the pipe from my catalytic converter to my exhaust to fall off and they tried to do a bunch of other repairs and charge me over $800. As a college student, I can nowhere near afford this, so on the recommendation of a teacher I took it to Hi-Way Muffler on Cain Run Rd in Louisville and they fixed it for $43. This shop is a scam and are not to be trusted.
I recently gotten two out of my three vehicles fixed at Tony’s auto in Jeffersonville IN. The first was my 2000 Toyota Camry, it had issues with over heating. Tony fixed the relay and the fans and topped off the coolant that was missing, he charged $225, witch it’s still driving and not over heating anymore. Maybe a week later I was driving my 99 Toyota Camry and the battery light blinked and it stoped on me in the middle of the street. So I immediately get it towed to tonys auto. I explained in detail of the issue that had occurred with the vehicle. Tony says give a few days to look it over. He contacts me later in the week and explains it’s a burnt out coil and to replace and labor would be $487.00 I told him I would contact him back. I thought about how exapensvie this is and that o really needed the car to get to my appointment, I don’t work I go to school full time and I have a two year old. So I contacted tony back and said the most I could come up with is $387 and that I really just gave him $300 the week prior and he said he would take the $387 I said ok well is the vehicle gonna be able to drive daily like before because it’s never had any real issues until the incident of it stopping on me. He said yes of course it’s gonna work great. End of week tony contacts me says the vehicle is ready, I go pick the vehicle up and the same thing that happened before happend again. Right after pulling off of Tony’s lot the vehicle stopped. At that moment it was Friday and 5:20pm tony closes at 5 so there’s no one there I had to contact jeff tow to come and tow the vehicle to my home witch cost me another tow fee of $80. I reached out to tony that following Monday. He said well what did I fix on it again, as if he forgot. I just kinda cried to myself. He finally realized what I was taking about and said to tow the car back there witch cost me another tow . And when the car got there he said ohh it’s the starter o van fix it for $300 I said look I’ll get the car towed to my home until I come up with the money he said ok. As a female I feel as if I’m being used in a way to make money off of because I don’t know much about cars. It hurts more then anything, I’m not saying don’t go to Tonya auto I’m saying be aware that he is money hungry and doesn’t care if your car works or not regardless of how much money and business you bring him. I feel scammed!!!
Always friendly, honest service!
Great service and prices were very low compare to other places we have been, will be sure to tell our friends
Great shop and he does a great job.
Great mechanics. Fair prices.
Great place So far.
Best it town!
Fast service
I dropped my car off at 1 pm to get my rear rotors and shoes changed. They changed my turn signal light as well, prices are most definitely fair. Will be back for sure.
I have had nothing but honest & fair dealings from Tonys Auto repair and I have been using them for years based on a small business recommendation who uses them for their company vehicles. *College students dont have teachers they have professors or instructors and I bet they know how to spell Cane Run Road*
Excellent auto service
