Excellent customer service and quality! Phil, Jose and Anthony replaced our 27 year old HVAC system with a new energy efficient one that included a heat pump. Hooking up a new thermostat was a challenge due to the old wiring but they were creative and found a way to fix the issue keeping the thermostat in the same place. Phil is a perfectionist and made sure the system was up to specs after it was installed. Phil also made sure all of our questions were answered when the job was finished. They made us feel valued and appreciated as customers.

Brian and Danny definitely are good people to work with. Very kind and knowledgeable. Crain prices can’t be beat. The installation of my new house was worry and hassle free Brian told me when they be there and they was there. The crew that installed it was polite and respectful. The work was quality.

I can’t say enough great things about this company. From the moment Bryan came into our home and fixed our old broke down AC to give us air till they came back and replaced our ac unit to Amanda in the office who took care of everything from getting the loan for it, to even turning in the warranty papers on it, I was 100% happy with the service. Bryan really knows his stuff and after it was installed everything was cleaned up and taking care of. All I had to do was come home and sit in my nice cool home. Bryan knew right away what needed to be done and just did it. I will never go anywhere but here for all my heating and cooling issues. I wish there was a way I could transfer my heater warranty from Sears over to Crains . I just trust Crains so much more. Plus the price was so much lower then what I thought it would be. They did a great job.

I would never recommend this company, my father who is 84 year old has been doing business with Crain for 17 years. Recently he had them out for service, tried to put in a used part but my father noticed it and said he wanted a new one. This basic part should have been on the truck but nevertheless they said they would be back the next day. That took a call from me before the new part got put in, but charged him for the new and all the service that day. While the tech was there they decided that he need freon, which is all he probably needed from the beginning, however it was a special kind of freon that my dad had and gave him the freon and he was charged $200 to put in my dads freon. My father ended up paying over 900 dollars for that service call after paying about $500 just two weeks before. I called to find out why he was charged so much to put in freon that my dad supplied, I got some song and dance about the techs time, which I understand but they were already getting a service call, seriously they could have done that part of the service for no charge since my dad supplied the freon. After speaking with the owner he said he would refund $100 to my dad, that was 4 months ago, and he never got the check, I called about 6 times but they just kept taking a message for the owner. I am blown away that you would treat a senior this way, but more importantly risk a long time relationship with a customer over $100, who will eventually need a new A/C.These folks are a rip-off and they have proven that many times over the years that weve done business with them.

I’ve worked with Crain on rental properties for a couple years and it’s reassuring to always pick up the phone and be able to talk to someone without being transferred and explaining my problem multiple times. I called when my AC was out and they were there in a short time. They called called ahead to let me know they were on the way and exactly who was coming. The service was friendly and reasonably priced.

Great company. The guys really know their stuff and explained everything to me so I knew what was going on. They replaced my unit the same day and cleaned up everything before they left. Great pricing on crane equipment.

This is a great company, we have used them from day one when we moved in. They are very professional and take care of their customers.

Crain Heating and cooling approached me at the home improvement show downtown Louisville. I scheduled an in home estimate and they were very courteous. During the estimate I wanted to keep my existing humidifier, electrostatic filter, uv light. I advised them I wanted it to operate the same way as old unit. Install day arrived and they layed out canvas and it was clean. However, when they brought the furnace in to be installed it was a lower model unit than on the invoice. We immediately stopped and they had to go back to the warehouse and get correct unit. After the install Phil said its working and it was 5 pm and they would return tomorrow to top off the freon, tie wrap wiring. After reading previous reviews I asked him to stay and finish. He stayed and finished but humidifier was constantly running. He advised they sold a different unit that would work properly. A different tech came out and rewired the humidifier but it would constantly run in propane mode (dual fuel system). He also handed me a invoice with a quote for more stuff. The heating blower would stop but the humidifier kept pumping in humidity with no where to go. I stopped in around March and told them about the humidifier and they said they would have to think about it. Made an appointment for freon top off for the summer and they topped it off. Then made a third appointment for the humidifier. Tech came out and told me when in propane mode the furnace fan must run all the time. He advised it has to run all the time to keep the humidifier running. My previous system was set up for the humidifier to cut out when the fan cut out. He advised that when the fan starts and stops it uses more energy than when it constantly runs. Okay I get that ...but if Im not home, house is set colder do I need the furnace fan constantly on? He said it could be wired to the humidifier plug on the unit. What ? Wait there was a way for this to be wired correctly the whole time? In the beginning I was told it couldnt be done. Im glad I ran through all the cycles before he left. The blower motor was constantly running and he advised me he left a jumper attached and opened it back up to take it out. Ive waited quite awhile to post this. I gave them another chance. But when I had to ask the tech three times to wire it like the old one was wired it just wears someone down. They always call an hour or day ahead of coming and show up on time ..so thats a plus.

Service people were professional, on time and did a good job on our summer check-up. Now ready for hot weather.

Ive never taken the time to write a review before but our experience with Crain was exceptionally good and I just have to pass on my experience. They were professional beginning with their receptionist Amanda, then their technician Tim who came out to give us quotes (no hard sales, just honest information), and the technicians Phillip and Hosae who did the system installation. They worked with our schedule, were efficient and did exactly what they said they would do for exactly the price they quoted us. Cant imagine going to anyone else for our heating/air services!!

My AC was not working properly, I called them. A man came and spent 15 minutes to check the compressor gas pressure and told me that they will provide me quote for the job. Later charged my credit card with 150 bucks. Never received quote after that. Wouldnt recommend.

I appreciate that this is a family owned business. That is one of many reasons my parents, siblings and myself have used Crain services for a very long time. Most importantly, we use Crain Heating and Air because the service is excellent and the cost is extremely reasonable. We just had another awesome experience with them recently and we will continue the tradition.

On time and fixed promptly. Services were reasonably priced.

Quoted $1000 for $100 worth of OEM parts and 45 minutes labor. Took my multimeter out, identified a faulty thermistor in 10 minutes. Turned out to be a $5 fix. Even replacing the whole board was only $50.Service was timely but I have my doubts on parts/labor costs. Never received a return call when I told the receptionist that I had questions on the breakdown of parts/labor costs.

Crain Heating & Air is by far the Best Service Company I have ever come across. They are fast, friendly, and super professional! They definitely know their stuff! They came to my Grandmothers home to fix her furnace on Christmas morning! We are so thankful to have a company that puts us first! I recommend them to everyone! Thanks Crain!

I knew our air conditioner was probably going to need to be replaced within a year or two, but when it went out Monday night I was in a panic. I called Crain Heating and Cooling Tuesday morning and by 9:30am Wednesday, John and Jimmy were at our house installing our new system. Everyone there was just fantastic. Amanda in the office, John, and Jimmy all made our stressful situation much easier. Highly recommend!

Interviewed 6 local businesses when it came time to replace my 30-yr old heat pump/AC system and Crain was the most impressive when it came to just getting their foot in the door. Their customer service was what won me over - promptness, friendliness in returning my phone calls, promptness when it came to making the personal sales call. Knowledgeable and professional when it came to explaining to me my options. The entire system was installed within 3 days from making that first phonecall! Im so happy with my new Trane unit and the service I received from this family-owned business.

Crain thoroughly diagnosed our heating problem after getting told by another company (I wont name or book again for an inspection) what turned out to be the most expensive fix. Our technician Danny explained why we were having the problem with our heat and why we had to run our emergency heart to keep our home halfway comfortable. He went through every aspect of our unit before explaining our problems and options. It wasnt a quick quote with no explanation. He compared the system we have with every option we could work with. If he saw a way to save on money, he mentioned it, instead of trying to push the top shelf items our way. I could tell how honest he was by walking through the house with me and explaining things. Once we decided was our best route, the installation crew wasted no time getting here and getting the job done. Its nice to know some companies still take as much pride in their work as Crain Heating and Air.

I bought my Trane from this company 12 years ago. I have loved the friendly attitudes as well as the expertise. They were going to send out their crew the very evening I called! I declined, but just the fact that they were so accommodating is wonderful. They came the next day and worked overtime! I enjoy being able to deal with a company that knows the history of my unit. Was out of town when my A/C developed a leak. I normally am able to do all my work and well aware of HVAC systems. Being out of town I called to find a leak in my AC and refill. Way overpriced, the amount charged to find a leak and refill exceeded a complete new AC system that comes pre-charged. Would never use them again nor recommend them.
