Custom Concepts installed new James Hardie siding on my house. They are Elite Preferred installers and from the proposal stage, to installation, to the final touches, their attention to detail showed. I was kept in the loop with phone calls and e-mail & any questions I had were quickly answered. The installation crew was very nice, professional, hard working, and tidied up every night. All in all a great experience.

We were so lucky to find Custom Concepts Construction (CCC) to replace the siding on our home. For us the best way to find reliable service providers is from the recommendations of our friends. However, we found that none of our friends had been through this. We were so lucky that the James Hardie website listed CCC as someone to consider (AND that the other contractor listed did not reply to our inquiry!). This is a very conscientious crew. They can do anything you want with James Hardie siding and what most impressed us was their attention to detail. Our siding went up without the nicks and chips we have seen at other homes. CCC made our home much more water proof than when we built it 20 years ago. They clean up everyday to keep the site clean and neat--and all of our neighbors are commenting on how nice it looks. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to all our friends.

Yes rare 5 star review. Why? Custom Concepts went above and beyond. I cannot say enough good things about this company.Mike solved my roof problem which no other roofer could fix. I highly regret not contracting them to do my roof originally. The mistake of the other roofer cost me at least 5 thousand and my entire house to be hot (improper ventilation). But Mike knew EXACTLY the problem. Im serious when I say 3 different companies couldnt figure it out.Because of this amazing expertise. I contracted them to repair rotten siding on north exposure of my home and install banding board. Osman and his crew were exceptional in quality. Danny went ABOVE and BEYOND and optimized the entire project by adding additional waterproofing and custom flashing and no extra cost. The painting and fitment was superior, and I have high standards. Danny really cared about the aesthetics and look, and wow he was right it looks better!Dont go for the cheapest quote you get, the quality of work is important, dont get burned and spend $5,000 fixing mistakes on another contractor choose these guys....Custom Concepts is the real deal. Every step of the process was professional and well executed.My phone calls were returned in a timely fashion, their initial proposal was the most detailed of any we received, they offered 3 different options for financing, the installation went smoothly with excellent workmanship and keen attention to Hardie Plank’s specifications. I have never had a better experience working with a contractor. Period.From the first meeting with Mike from Custom Concepts he instilled confidence in me, asking pertinent questions--including construction aspects I had not considered--and wrote detailed notes. He also explained a lot about the James Hardie fiber cement siding product and his companys dedication to following the manufacturers recommended installation process. He was also the only one of three bidding contractors who presented their price quote in person with an incredibly descriptive and line-itemized estimate with a break out of materials and labor for each portion of the project. He even showed us a computer mockup image of our home with the siding and trim choices we made.This work was done on a 92-year old bungalow in January-February 2017. It was an exterior project that included replacing two layers of siding (aluminum and the original shake shingles) with Hardieplank lap siding and Hardie trim, as well as reconstructing the front porch with Azek tongue and groove planks and rebuilding the porch columns.Whenever complications arose (which were expected on a house this old with prior renovations including an addition) CCC was very clear in their explanations of the challenges and often provided options at various price points.Frankly, there probably wasn’t a plumb wall on this house but by the time Danny, the project manager, and Nick, the lead carpenter, put their heads together they found solutions to make our home look brand new. I want to add that their crew was courteous, organized and fastidious, even though weather and parking issues sometimes challenged them.It is rare to find a contractor that performs so well on price, quality and timeliness. From their affordable financing options to their well-defined communications and friendly, professional staff, everything ran smoothly despite the large scope of the project.My wife and I could not be more thrilled with the results and we love coming home to our beautiful “new” old house. We recently used Custom Concepts to replace our masonite tudor panels with James Hardie. Custom Concepts exceeded our expectations with quality and customer service. Custom Concepts was the only certified James Hardie contractor that actually reviewed our project with the local James Hardie representative and ensured that the methodology they used for the tudor was in compliance with the standard required for the James Hardie warranty. This methodology was incredibly complex- Custom Concepts needed to actually cut the James Hardie Panels to allow for diagonal flashing in all of our tudor panel crossings- literally double (if not more) manual effort in to meet this spec. No other contractor was willing to put in this effort. Not only did custom concepts put in the effort, they did it at no extra charge to do it the correct way the first time. They were meticulous in the details- everything was literally perfect. Danny and Juan worked with us every step of the way. Danny never hesitated to answer all of our questions and spent so much extra time with us explaining the ins and outs of the siding methodology. Anything we asked for, Danny was willing to work with us. The team was prompt, completed the job on time, and the quality was superb. We recently completed a total exterior renovation using Custom Concepts. Starting with the roof replacement, gutters and downspouts, skylights, Hardie Plank siding and all the trim. If you take any reviews to heart, this is one to believe in. My wife and I are real customers and have been very pleased with the siding project done by Custom Concepts. I worked in several trades to pay my way through college and am licensed as a professional engineer. It seems to be harder and harder to find good work from contractors - they are always very happy and shiny during the sales pitch, then it seems many turn the work over to day laborers. Our experience with Custom Concepts didnt go like that - the experience was positive throughout, and Danny was on site frequently and was easily reached if anything came up. Our project was expensive enough that I did a lot of homework and talked to a lot of companies, including asking who was going to do the actual work. Danny and Mike were very patient and addressed my questions politely. They do hire sub contractors (its how the system works), but they use people they have long standing relationships with. They were good about communicating changes in the schedule and working around our needs (I asked them to leave part of the driveway open as I need to charge my car at night and the cable is only so long). It rained maybe half the days they wanted to work, which was a challenge, but they let me know what was going on, and when the weather cleared on the weekend, they asked if it was ok to work extra on the weekends to make up the lost time. There was never a work day when they simply failed to show up. But, the most important part is the quality. I watched several of my neighbors get siding replaced extremely quickly. There is no way that the details were being taken care of. The crew at Custom Concepts took three weeks (with rain) to re-side my house, including replacing trim and some extra painting. Everything seemed to be done very carefully. I was very impressed that they even delayed doing some trim work for a couple of days because they were waiting for the correct width trim board - a detail the original builder had not bothered with - the original builder had simply rigged up two narrow boards, which of course had allowed water in, and they had rotted away. When they found some rotted sheathing, it was cut away and replaced. I want to also say that the crew was very patient and professional with me - I wanted the replace the hose bibs and the bathroom duct vents that stuck through the siding, and they worked around me getting the ones I wanted. Finally, I think the real test for any contractor is how they deal with issues. There was one thing I wanted them to fix (I take half the blame as I wasnt clear) - a light fixture mounting block was installed in the wrong spot. I texted Danny about it, and he told me it would be fixed the next day - and it was! No B.S. And they made it look like it was always that way, not a patch. As other issues came up (its a 33 year old house), we discussed it, came up with a plan, and they sent over reasonably priced change orders to handle the extra work. The workers themselves were always very polite and friendly.

The best experience we have ever had with a contractor! Meticulous workmanship....kept us informed at every step in the process of installing Hardie Board on our house. Would highly recommend them to anyone contemplating this type of project.

We had Custom Concepts replace half our roof, and replace the associated wood trim (of our brick house), and install new gutters. Mike visited with us a number of times to make sure we understood their products and services (answering all our questions) and Kat stayed in touch with us so we understood the financing (it was simple). The work crew was always timely and did the work in just a couple days; keeping the debris from the roof removal under control (there is always a few nails and roofing materials that get carried away by the winds we get - so as expected we did find a few nails and debris over the next week). Total home face lift... New roof, new beautiful Hardie beadboard siding and trim, seven new energy efficient windows, and two beautiful wood sliding glass door. Over three years, CCC planned and coordinated phases for construction to fit our cash flow and our family life. On the front end, they took the time to understand our needs and concerns. We asked for work to be done in phases and stressed quality as our priority because its our forever home. CCC provided estimates by project and financing for each phase. Once work began, CCC was methodical in every step of our home face lift. Communication with us and within their company was excellent. We knew what was going to happen before it happened. At the end of every work day, supplies and tools were stacked out of the way to allow kids to play in the yard. They were meticulous minimizing damage to flower beds and plants and when they were installing windows, the floors and rugs were clean at the end of every day.CCC sets the bar high for customer service and workmanship. I hope theyll come back one day and do more for us.

The crew was excellent - they were attentive to all details of the large project scope, worked hard every day, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Im very satisfied with the outcome - part of the project transformed our front porch into an inviting place to relax thanks to Custom Concepts.

Custom Concepts Construction replaced the roof on my single family home (~1900 sq. ft). They were fabulous--knowledgeable, courteous, efficient. Everyone with whom I interacted was completely professional and worked very hard to help me get just the roof I wanted/needed; at no point did anyone pressure me to buy more than I wanted/needed. Also, the installation itself was miraculous to watch. The crew was so efficient that they completed the entire project in just one day (including replacement of all of the rotten plywood on half of the old roof, removal of a solar tube, and installation of a new attic fan)--even cleaning up such that it didnt even look like they had been there! The new roof looks amazing and comes with a 20yr labor (as well as material) warranty! I would highly recommend this company for any construction project, and will certainly rehire them for future projects that come up at my house.

EXCEPTIONAL customer service and craftsmanship! Like many others we had the best experience working with CCC. After doing tons of research online and meeting with 7 different companies for quotes we selected them because of the great price and level of expertise. Our project was large and consisted of all new James Hardie siding, 19 Marvin windows, 5 exterior doors, and a new screened porch with top-deck. Only complaint; they won’t do our interior projects too! But really they were so patient with us throughout the design process and didn’t bat an eye when we came up with changes along the way. Their crews were polite and very focused, the area was always left clean, they never cut corners and their dedication and skill shows. Everyone along the way went above and beyond the scope and left our house looking amazing. We are very happy with the finished project and have already recommended them to neighbors and co-workers.

First of all I am a very demanding customer. Custom concepts replaced the siding on my townhouse with hardy board siding and built a deck. It was a difficult job since there are many custom cuts that had to be made. The workers were very diligent getting things done quickly. The management responded quickly and bent over backwards to comply with my requests for details. They identified problems that I did not know existed and fixed them at no additional cost. All that being said some critical details were not done completely right. The bathroom fan vent was painted shut, the hardware cloth intended to keep the animals out was not secured and the birds got in. The TV cable wire was pulled out of the wall, and a piece of flashing in an out of the way place was on top of siding instead of under. Things were fixed if we noticed them when they were on the job, but we didnt notice these things till later. The workers need to work on the details.

Our family purchased Vinyl windows and had our roof replaced at the same time due to what turned out to be a lovely moisture problem. Mike from Custom Concepts had the most thorough proposal of any contractor we saw in Gaithersburg for GAF roofing. Also he took the time to explain exactly what went wrong and why we had issues with moisture getting through our old non-vinyl windows and roofing. Our new roof and windows add tremendous curb appeal to our home, we are more than happy with the results!

I was IFY about using a contractor, but meeting with Mike made my decision well made. He came with all the information I needed to do proper research. My home was resided with James Hardie Lap Siding Khaki Brown. The step by step process was explained to me extremely well from the initial estimate to the completion of the work. Todd and his crew were consistent and courteous. I have recommended them to friends as they are getting work done as well.

We had a very difficult time finding a contractor who could realize a difficult vision: converging an existing screened-in porch with an equal size (existing) deck, and to keep the look and feel of the entire job. 3 or 4 contractors told me it couldnt be done, but Mike said it could. And it was a fabulous job. They dealt with changes in the code to make sure all permits were legit, and as the job proceeded, we added additional french doors, took down an interior wall, and transformed our 40 year old house into a real showpiece we just love. They also did siding in the newly expanded screened in porch, and added a new roof and gutters to the whole house as well. They were a pleasure to work with, always on time, always thoughtful,. Their crews clean-up daily, and were real craftsmen. They came in on time and at cost, and when minor issues occurred afterwards, they came back to make sure that everything was done to our complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of remodeling, roofing, siding, or decks.

Custom Concept Construction did an excellent job on our major home renovations and upgrades! We added a second floor and updated the first floor plan. CCC worked with us to develop our plans and gain permit approvals. They understood that we had a tight budget and worked with us to ensure that we stayed within it. When surprises arose (as they always do on a major project), they communicated problems clearly and worked for quick, budge-friendly solutions. The quality of their work was top-notch in every way, and included demolition (interior and exterior), framing, siding, roofing, insulation, drywall, cabinet installations in bathrooms and kitchen, cleanup and misc. other projects that arose. We cannot recommend them highly enough and would turn to them again for any kind of major construction project we might undertake.

I hired them to replace 5 windows. These guys were excellent from start to finish. The presentation was great but I was still skeptical about the work after I hired them. They eliminated my fears as we went further thru the process, they communicated with my HOA for approval and installed all windows with great work on time. I highly recommend them.

We have used Custom Concepts for our big siding project and again for a rebuilding of our deck. From our initial consultation to final inspection found them to be easy to work with, professional and they really cared that we were totally satisfied with their work. We had a project to replace our siding, windows and doors on our 27-year-old townhouse. From a recommendation of friends, and my research we wanted to use James Hardie fiber cement for the siding. We contacted, had site visits and received quotes from 3 contractors recommended by the James Hardie company.Michael from Custom Concepts Construction spent a lot time with us explaining their process, materials and a recommendation for us to install Beechworth Windows (a James Hardie company). The CCC proposal was by far the most detailed and extensive with a complete line item breakdown of materials and labor costs. Once all the details were settled I appreciated being able to sign the contract with a secure digital signature. All of the payments were also easily handled via email with Katherine.The project started on time and there were weather related delays (rainiest September in many years), but Danny was always in contact via text, email or phone to let us know if there were delays or they were not able to work on those days. During the project any questions for Mike, Danny or Katherine were always answered in a timely manner.The crew installing the siding, windows and doors were excellent. They worked efficiently, were pleasant to interact with, at the end of every work day cleaned and straightened up the site. They also worked on Saturdays to make up for some of the time lost due to the weather.At the end of construction Danny went over the small punch list of items we had and ended up adding a few items we either missed or felt were insignificant, but he wanted addressed.The house looks great and we could not have had a better experience with a contractor. Thorough and quality work. Would highly recommend CCC. They remedied poor workmanship of a prior contractor, replacing rotting wood with vinyl railings on a deck and with hardie plank in several other parts of home. Even my wife is satisfied.

He came in and reviewed all the work which was done and gave us a detailed, objective assessment of the situation and pricing on how to fix/remedy the poor workmanship. We were looking to have new siding done on our house and wanted to go with James Hardie siding. For that reason, we only looked at siding contractors that were certified by James Hardie.After getting estimates from a number of James Hardie certified contractors, we elected to go with Custom Concepts. We were very impressed with their attention to detail and very detailed proposal which included a line-by-line price breakdown.When the time came for the work to be done, we were amazed at how quickly and professionally they completed the job. We hired Custom Concepts to do a deck job on a short timeframe. They did an excellent job, from A to Z. They handled the demo of the existing structure, got all the necessary permits quickly, got approval from the HOA of the community, coordinated times for construction with the tenants, and.... best of all, built a beautiful, safe, and value-enhancing deck on the back of our rental property.I cant say enough about how CCC handled this job so fluidly. My profession as a specialty Subcontractor in the Washington construction market gives me special insight into the workings of building repair services. As regards the repairs Custom Concepts Construction (CCC) performed at my home, while the repair work to my Hardie Panel wrapped shed was not large, it was a bit on the complex side, in that it required removal of water damaged Hardie material from in place at several locations, with the subsequent replacement with a matching material. The end result is excellent. The repaired areas look like new and as if there had never been a bit of damage endured. CCCs Field Supervisor, Oscar, was most accommodating and worked out several details to my utmost satisfaction. The work was performed within an acceptable time frame, and on budget. The material used to replace the damaged Hardie material is an inert material which should weather better in the future and prevent any additional damage caused by over-exposure to the elements. I am very satisfied with this work and will keep CCC in my Contacts list for future consideration.
