Reasonably disappointed that a service we pay so much for, is inconsistent. The local office might be closed due to Covid19, but the need to navigate an automated menu to talk to someone, whose solution involves up selling isn’t excusable.

Easily the best internet provider in Chapin, IL but XTREMELY over priced. $90 for 100mbps and 1000 gigs/month. That’s just internet, not including tv or anything.Our internet is pretty consistent with very few outages. It’s truly high speed and quite reliable. It would get 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive.

I agree with most people that Mediacom is the most expensive company I ever used. Jacksonville desperately needs another cable and internet provider. Mediacom having almost no competition can charge as they wish thus hurting the end user. Too expensive, I had to cancel my cable and now even just simple internet is too damn expensive. In 2021, in America, you would think that internet would be cheaper!! These Mediacom prices are just ridiculous to say the least!!

I live on disability, my only entertainment is my cable and internet. Most companies give some sort of discount to people on disability or senior citizens. NOT MEDIACOM! The highest bill I have is my Mediacom bill. I don’t even have any of the movie channels, just the basic cable and internet. My house and car are fully covered and the bill is lower. And yes my car is a 2018 hybrid so not a piece of junk. We desperately need a new cable and internet company in Jacksonville. Mediacom having the monopoly is hurting all of us! There has to be something that can be done to get a new company here or force Mediacom to lower their prices

Clista is always friendly and has a great smile. She is very knowledgeable, helpful and a great people person. I know that when I need to have answers to my many questions, when I walk in the door I will come out with answers, that I can understand, to all of them. Most of the time I leave happy.

I have great internet service but last month I was told on April 3rd that I didnt have to pay the bill for march due to the covid outbreak and that it wouldnt be added onto a later bill but then I received Aprils bill on may 1st and it was a double bill. This is blatantly unacceptable behavior for any company to engage in. I will be updating this post once I talk to their manager and if I still have to pay both months bills then Im definitely changing my rating to as low as it will let me scale down.

Their WiFi is so inconsistent it cuts off every 30 seconds... Not Exaggerating I just sit here and have to reset the router every 30 seconds to watch a 10 minute video... FIX YOUR WIFI!!!

This would get a higher rating but honestly the speed caps, constant outages, and the fact they think they need to spy on you anytime you decide to torrent something even if its a legal torrent. Staff is the only thing giving me the 2 stars. Everytime I go into the building to pay theres only one working by themself which is just sad. They have time to do all the above but when it comes to their employees they could care less. Corporate is a joke.

I have never felt less valued as a customer. Installer did not show up to install our internet because of a mistake they made, but company was unwilling to fix the mistake. Spent 40 minutes on the phone with a rep and they said the best they could do was come back in 10 days.

One of the better available. Their service does go down on occasion but which doesnt? The only strong complaint I have is they should be a bit more proactive in their application of specials. If youre im central illinois and have a good internet, they likely provide it

Internet speed works at half the speed you are paying for most of the time. For example during high traffic hours you will receive half the speed or less for what you are paying for. Want to call customer service? Forget about it! The rudest employees ever! I guess this is what you can do when you have a monopoly in the area.... :-(

I think Mediacom is way overpriced for cable TV. Im on a fixed income and cant afford those prices. the monthly price is ridiculous. I think Jacksonville Illinois should allow other cable companies in their town for people that cant afford Mediacom.

Its the better choice for Jacksonville residents . Better then frontier. But weve had extreme problems with our cable going in and out . Our smart TV allows apps like Hulu and Netflix to be watched from it. My Hulu stopped working so I called media com. They came with a new modem but he did not try the app after resetting it . The result was it still didnt fix the issue. Second attempt and we had a really likeable/ polite guy come and he brought a new TiVo box. He switched the remote out and fixed the Hulu problem but because he forgot to make sure the remote was working before he left we needed to call back a third time . They overnighted a new remote and problem was fixed. So far we havent had problems but the new remote does stick a bit. My internet still fades in and out alot . But we do prefer them to frontier. Media com does get to their customers alot quicker and they do try to fix the problems

They are charging me $30 because Im leaving & going to direct tv!! Because they have to come unhook it from the pole!!! And thats my problem how? Its your line not mine!! I paid your bill every month!! Now I have to pay for you to come unhook something that belongs to you??!!!! Ridiculous!!!!

Wish i could give a lower rating, this company is extremely crooked and greedy, i have a plan for $60 a month for just internet, I’ve had the service almost a year now, after the second month i started getting fraudulent charges on my account, basically being charged $100 a month instead of $60, every few months money would be tacked on for absolutely no reason and then i would have to call customer service and spend an hour trying to straighten it out and i have done this over 3 or 4 times now, after paying last months bill i had $88 from no where on my bill, they gave excuses that i upgraded my internet plan etc.. i said i already have the highest internet and nothing else how can i upgrade that? They just giving me excuse after excuse so finally i just said I’ll pay a little on it with next months bill and leave it on the balance and pay bits of it, after i paid Mays bill i recieved a letter saying i still owed $88 and they were going to shut me off, RIGHT AFTER I JUST PAID MAYS BILL! Now my service just got shut off BEFORE EVEN RECEIVING JUNES BILL! This is ridiculous and i will never ever use Mediacom again or refer anyboy to it, i will make sure that nobody i know uses this terrible service and i will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this because i have talked to multiple other people that have had the same thing happen to them, i will be switching over to IRTC now as well because they have proven themselves to not be greedy crooks like Mediacom, thanks for the terrible business Mediacom.

Medicom is a bunch of crooks. Just got the phone with them about there internet an for ppl paying for internet services your paying for a data plain samething as cell phone service. An there claims that all providers do is wrong. I for one know this to true. Charter commactions doesnt charge for a data plain. You get with there internet 100 mbs an a flat rate an there is no such thing as monthly allowance such as a data plain.
