The hotel was Nice (it reminds me of a studio apartment,) it matched the pictures perfectly. However, there were roaches and gnats flying around, there was rust everywhere in the bathroom vents, shower, and dishwasher. The sink in the kitchen got stopped up, the ice maker in fridge did not work, no soap to wash dishes, and there wasnt any trash bags for trash. Overall, it was a Nice, Quiet stay and I would stay there again if these issues were fixed.
You have to be buzzed in to get service. And once you get to the front desk the customer service definitely need improving. Definitely didnt receive a welcoming greeting and was made to feel like an inconvenience. Floors are broom swept but not clean because I went to pick up ice and got mud. There was a small roach walking on the accent chair
We stayed here last week on our ways to the keys. The place looks old and dirty from the outside. The staff was very nice! We got the last room for the night. I was pleasantly surprised at the room. It was clean and large. The bathroom needs to be redone badly!!! It was very moldy. There were a few spots on the chairs that looked dirty and stained. The bed was comfortable and clean.
The woman working at the front desk was tremendously rude and difficult to deal with. On more than one occasion she would start speaking loud insults in Spanish (I’m a fluent speaker of Spanish). She was telling her friend behind the desk that she didn’t like me because I was black. I don’t recommend this place.
Visited this site because I was traveling for a Sweet 16.. I was politely checked in by a young lady who was very nice. After I’ve been checked in I go to the room and automatically notices that the floor had dig air all over the room floor the drains were clogged up the water was not hot in both the sink& bathing area ..later that evening I notice I left both room keys inside the room so I figured I’d get them after after the event. Here’s where my experience turned even sour when letting the older women with red hair know that I had accidentally left my room keys inside the room she acted as if she had an attitude and told me she could not find a room under my name. I attempted to give her my Drivers license she did not want them .. while the Maintenance guy or security guy watched she still gave me the run around saying I did not have a room . I went to my car and got the little card holder to show my room number which was 1213..I finally got my room key and I left to go find a parking spot the guy that was at the front office thought I was alone however I wasn’t .. while searching for a parking spot he kept walking of the back side of the motel looking strange shaking his head. I proceeded until me and my hubby found a spot and parked next thing you know we see the same gentlemen again but this time he’s giving off an ugly look as we are walking from the side to our room before we reached out room the same guy walked passed again so at this point I am saying to my hubby let’s just hurry up and get in the room . I will never return to this hotel again my experience was not something I expected but hey just thought I’d leave a review
I came here to sonesta hotel Dixie trail from Georgia before I got here they cancelled my reservation and then when It suppose to be $315.00 for 2 nights.they cancelled it and went up$613.00 2 nights.bad business. I would never make reservations with again.
Got more than I was expecting for with the amount of a room! Staff was excellent as well!
The place is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. The only down side is the pool was closed because of someone messing it up. But other than that may experience here was great, I will return on a later date this year.
Really nice, large room. Clean. We had a handicap room and the shower is not really accessible.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Room was setup like a studio apartment with nice features and allowed our family to spend time together or go off into separateareas. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and accomodating. Due to COVID, many amenities werent available but with having own kitchen and grocery stores nearby, we were able to eat quite a few meals in. The grounds were kept nicely and its very quiet. Also, the sheriffs office is right across the street which added to the safety and security. Would definitely stay here again.
The manager Adrina, from the position that she presumes is a very despicable and ingested person, with a great lack of education, does not know how to treat the public and it is not the first complaint I see about that person, the hotel loses quality due to staff like her so rude because her job is also about attending and being there for her clients, she makes the hotel downgrade, her presence at that front desk when she is there is unbearable 😡😡😡😡 I dont recommend anyone else to this hotel because of her attitude erase the good thing about the hotel
Comfortable beds. Fireplace is nice. Full kitchen is great. Sofa is very uncomfortable. Limited t.v. channels. Great service, laundry on site. Quite at night like it should be. Sherriffs department right across the street, so pretty safe.
Rooms are very nice. Staff is friendly. COVID ruins breakfast and housekeeping. Loft rooms are amazing
I thought this place was excellent for the price. Room was clean and overall facilities look well maintained.
The furniture is hard and uncomfortable. Feel like staying in a hospital room with the smell to go with. Tried to open sliding door for ventilation but it is screwed shut. Must be dangerous area. The noise from other rooms is very loud. Went to make coffee and the old coffee filter was left in machine and growing white mold. OH it’s near the railroad tracks. I counted at least 3 trains with horns. The refrigerator make funny noises. I got no sleep. Won’t be back.
Helpful staff needed a handicap room changed our room no problem
It was just like a little studio apartment everything was nice. Only issue was even though they provided stuff for the dishwasher that was fully stocked, for just a few dishes used there were no dish cloths for hand washing, and no extra trash bags, the small can can fill up rather quickly. Honestly those were the only things. I would stay again but will probably check with front desk for those amenities at check in.
Absolute night mare at check in one week they tried to bill me for 2 separate reservations sense they couldn’t find my first one. When I was finally checked in the next week they told me I couldn’t check in because I wasn’t 21. The staff is some of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with they do not try to help in any way at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all!!!
Really nice and clean, suite, I really recommend this place,
We called on way to location and was notified that our reservation was cancelled. We had book via Booking.com. The staff offered a smaller room at a higher rate. We called Booking.com, they verified that reservation was not cancelled. Long story short we got room we requested. Room was very good but floor was filthy. Also had to request coffee pot and pan to cook breakfast.
Nice place..clean comfortable..
I loved the layout of our room in building 13 however was not fond of basketball court in the middle of all the buildings by pool. Had children and could hear screaming, cussing till 10-11 both nights. Within a few minutes of my 3 year old being on her bed in bottom room she had a roach crawl on her. In upper room we found garbage behind curtains and the carpets were extremely dirty-my 10m daughters entire legs were discolored black from crawling. Dishwasher was full of dishes- nice they were clean but the bottom wash trap was filled with food. Said breakfast included but none- covid doesnt prevent a bag of food. New carpet and new cleaners would benefit rooms greatly.
Wouldnt stay again. Not clean.
I enjoyed my stay tremendously! The breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning! The staff was extremely polite and helpful! The room was spacious with central A/C and a fireplace for those cold nights! Also, inside the room was a full size kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher! The value of this hotel by far exceeds the neighboring ones!
The staff barely speak English, they are rude and discriminates against the e look elderly and disabled. Housekeepers do a poor job and they all lie. (I was there assisting an elderly couple)
This hotel is very nice! Stayed for Gator bowl with 3 kids. Got a room with loft. Loft had king bed for wife and me, downstairs had 2 queens for kids. 2 baths.Strangely the first night only had 3 towels Had to go to front desk to pick up a few extra for everyone. Thought. Was a fluke. 2nd night only had 2 towels! We felt with it, but were not happyWas very clean and comfortable. Our room had a small kitchen, which was nice having some snacks and cereal and milk when coming in late. They have a nice pool area and a small basketball court we did not utilize because trip was so quick. Would certainly stay there again, hopefully they will figure out the room holds 6 people so they need to leave 6 towels.
Management was very rude to me & my friends. They kicked us out of our room to clean it and they wouldnt let me in to get my keys. It took over an hour and the lady with the blondish afro hair due came yelling at us Im guessing she was a manager but she was very rude and she angrily told us to get out. She tried yelling at us in Spanish and in English my friend was confused so we just left the room again. The manager lady was in a rage so was the guy with her I think his badge said Devin or Devon he was by her side the whole time and they were both yelling at us to get out and they wouldnt let me in to get the keys I was so confused and upset about the whole situation. Not to mention that my friend found a huge cockroach in there that was humungous and in flow across the room. I am totally freaked out by it but I also found a pubic hair in the refrigerator when we got there. These people are horrible at Cleaning I have no idea how you cant see that in there that was nasty.
I stay at this property every week and have been for months. I stay here because the rooms are clean and the staff is attentive to every need. Thank You!!!
Excellent facility. Close to all shops
The person that sets up the breakfast is very mean and quick to close the breakfast bar. She approached to me in a mean way and said You know we stop serving breakfast at 9:00am right, right? She was a very mean in her 40s oriental woman. I wish they could close the breakfast bar at 10:00am and understand that we as travelers need a hotel and we need to sleep and that we wake up late for breakfast because we sometimes arrive there earlier morning and have children and we been on the road more than six hours and is hard to get up before 9:00am.They do have very nice people doing the housekeeping service though. 👍
The suites are very spacious, nicely designed, and clean. Good price in comparison to competitive area hotels. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. My inquiry into printing our boarding passes was quickly and pleasantly fulfilled. Nice rotation of main entrees on the breakfast buffet. The hostess was both efficient and very friendly. Safe location for walking. Totally impressed!
Very nice and clean, home away from home.
This hotel is AMAZING! We got there around 8 Thursday night and stayed till Sunday. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The full kitchen is super nice because you don’t have to go out to eat all the time! The room was super clean and very nice. We loved it! We will be back.
Great value and very good quality stay for the price
Avoid this hotel there are so many other better places to pick.
We had to stay in the Jacksonville area for an unexpected trip to Florida. We chose Sonesta because we were unsure how long we would have to stay. We researched some other suite style hotels and found this one was one of the least expensive and offered some great amenities. We were upgraded to a loft suite when we arrived which was fantastic since we were traveling with a newborn. The room is quite comfortable and the full kitchen was great. Our suite had two bedrooms with three beds and two full bathrooms. The gym is pretty standard for a hotel. There were a decent amount of shady looking hotels in the area but we felt a little better since this place is directly across the street from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office substation. Lots of cool restaurants in the area and we were also able to go to the Winn Dixie down the street for groceries and cook some meals in the room. The kitchen is equipped with pretty much everything you would need (plates, cups, utensils, pots and pans). We would definitely stay here again if we had to return to the area.
The rooms were spacious; after transfers in the middle of the night we had a good night sleep. The room have a damp odor and the neighboring lodgings are flooded with night walkers.
Simply put a great place to stay! My girlfriend and I stayed here for Valentines Day weekend. We loved the spacious room and kitchenette. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very pleasant and polite. If youre in the Jacksonville area, stay here!
Staying here is very comfortable, full sized kitchen and great for an extended stay, staff has been very pleasant to work with.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, breakfast was really good-way better than I had expected. Would definitely recommend this place!
Nice spacious rooms with an apartment-complex feel.
Nice stylish place but soundproofing is awful!!! You can hear every single word been said outside in regular conversation. Every step made on stairs. Managment also dont care about your calming and ok to make lawn works at 7 am in Saturday which is was so loud that I had problems to hear my wife lying next to me!
Update: still love it here. Esther in the front is amazing. She is so sweet. I like the general manager she bent over backwards to help my family get a room. The other staff members are also friendly and professional. The hotel is clean and cozy.
I’m not normally one to post reviews but this needs to said... my husband and I had a really great stay here! Everything was clean and well kept. The customer service is great! I will always make this my first choice when in the area. Thank you so much!!
They were always willing to help with what ever needs I had.
We’re big fans of this small chain of hotels. For a reasonable price you get a large studio in what looks like a small apartment complex. Comfortable bed. Free BW level breakfast. Exercise room. Strongly recommended for the traveller tired of small hotel rooms.
Poor customer service. I called to find out why my aunt reservation was canceled. My initial call I was placed on hold and the person never came back. So I hung up and called back and spoke to a manager named Laney who was extremely rude. She rushed me off the phone after telling me she had 5 customers in front of her. My aunts card was flagged because she lives out of stateand Laney tried to insult me as if we couldnt afford our stay. Laney needs to have better customer service and patience for paying customers. I will relay the message to my aunt not to spend her money here if Sonesta has Laney representing their company. I will pass the message to all of my friends and family who I recommendEd this place to. We will reconsider if Sonesta hires a manager that actually enjoys their job helping people.
Positive: The kitchen and fireplace Negative: Need more cleaning supplies in the room.
This place is absolutely immaculate! The staff is very friendly the rooms are very clean I would recommend this place to anybody!
09Feb19. This hotel did not have comfort in mind when it was built. The beds were lumpy. The design of the room was not appealing. The TV in the kitchen/living room kept changing channels when we changed the bedroom TV. There is no privacy coming from the shower into the bathroom because there is not a door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. The walls are thin. If you are on the first floor, you can hear the traffic on the highway, as well as people walking outside of the window. Breakfast was quite lacking. The sausage, the eggs, which tasted powdered, and French toast sticks were cold. I didnt see any security. This would not be my first choice here in Jacksonville, Florida.
My family and I evacuated for hurricane Michael. When we arrived we were accommodated with a larger room and very understanding management. The layout was perfect and we didnt hear any other people through the walls. The property was clean and the staff (all) were very kind and responsive to needs. The breakfast and happy hour food was great and an added bonus. The amenities were also great. I would highly recommend Sonesta ES Suites to anyone visiting Jacksonville.
The space was nice and the beds were super comfortable! However, when we needed toilet paper(hours after the room was serviced) we were told we could come get some. This wouldnt be a problem except we hadnt been there all day so it should have been left in the room in the first place. The staff was not very helpful either
Great extended stay. They have full refrigerators, a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes and a full oven. They also give you dishes. They have a huge stainless steel grill, free breakfast, free dinner, a pool and a basketball court as well as laundry facilities that take coins and cards. The rooms have fire places and new flat screen tvs and nice up to date couches. The place is very clean and the staff is awesome.
Do Not Stay Here!!This Place is Horrible. It’s located right beside the BUSY interstate and It’s Super LOUD it’s very hard to get any kind of sleep. And the room was filled with dead Bugs. And Pool Wasn’t Open And No Breakfast was made Available.Plus they charged us Hidden Fees.I Would Highly Recommend NOT STAYING HERE!!!
The Sonesta es Suites Jacksonville was one of the best home away from homes I have ever stayed at. We were assisted in check in by a new lady named Trish who went out of her way to accommodate my disabled mother and myself who has allergies. We stayed in the bi-level suite which had a king bed on the first floor and a queen bed on the second. Each floor had its on bathroom and the suite had a fireplace, full kitchen with a refrigerator just like home. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and would recommend this accommodation to everyone. I thoroughly look forward to returning to this lovely establishment very soon.
Nice hotel and very spacious. Used to be a residence inn but was given a total face lift and looks new. Rooms have a full kitchen and full size fridge. They have free WiFi and free breakfast. Lots of amenities and rates are half of most other hotels! Pet friendly too!
The kids loved this place! Very cool rooms (especially the lofts). Great pool. Basketball court. Highly recommended!
It was terrible, the first room they gave me had a bunch of dead bugs in it and i found one when i pulled back the covers, switched my room and there was a live one running across the floor. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. I love hotels but this experience made me be more careful with where i stay for next time.
Im staying here for a month for work. Im on my second week and so far Ive had no complaints. I love the rooms. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the free breakfasts are great. They always have scrambled eggs, a different protein everyday, yogurt, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, usually 2-3 different types of cheese, a waffle station to make fresh waffles, bagels, sliced bread, croissants, a great cereal selection, and a great variety of toppings for your food, including chocolate chips, craisins, shredded coconut, sliced almonds, and much more. The maid staff is professional and hardworking. My room always looks great after they leave. And I love that they arent stingy with the towels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
Many Residence Inn Ive stayed in before. We stayed at this hotel for the funeral where the staff received us with great warmth. We came from Massachusetts and everyone was tired and although we came nearly two hours before normal time, the front desk staff showed a good understanding and were able to finalize the reservation to accommodate the group anyway . All rooms were clean, comfortable and the breakfast was really good. We felt at home and the place was up to its name - is highly recommended. Marriott thank you.
Friendly, helpful staff even during pandemic. Rooms were spacious, uo to date, and clean.
Full kitchen was nice. They dont do a full clean every day if youre on an extended stay. They change your towels... the breakfast eggs are fake the breakfast is otherwise a little disappointing. They have a burger night. Its exactly what you expect.
Location is convenient to highway and interstate, but quiet. Ive stayed here several times when Im in town for work. The rooms are consistent, always clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast items vary, but I appreciate that there is always some type of breakfast meat and egg, not just cold carbs.
Very nice stay! 💯 Will go back if given the opportunity 👍👌👏 Made me feel like a 🤴
The rooms are nice. Since there is no carpeting where we stayed, you heard the people above you walking.
Very clean and private
Fully renewed. Great space in the suite full blown kitchen and breakfast is included. Great location parking is free WiFi is free. Rooms smelled like new furniture which was not good but tolerable. Service was cold (didnt make me feel at home) but nice anyway.
Just stayed here for a hurricane evacuation. This place was so accommodating and made everything stress free. We originally booked to stay at another hotel with pets. It was an absolute disaster. Sonesta was able to book a 2 bedroom suite for us, our toddler, and pets (and it ended up being less expensive than the other dump we booked). The manager was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were all taken care of. Will keep this place at the top of our list if we ever have to evacuate again.
Great place to stay, feels just like youre in a studio apartment. Would be nice if they had weekly rates instead of daily for those that need a longer stay.
I have to say this is a great experience the room is really nice and comfy and so clean. The front desk lady Mary is so nice. I would put this up there against any 5 star.....i will diffinently make it a point to stay in the Residence Marriott when I travel from now on.
The staff is pleasant and curious. And the rooms are not bad. My main issue is with the cleaning crew and the ironing boards. I stayed there for about 3 weeks, changing rooms weekly. The trash was always full from the guest before when I got there and only 1 of the 3 ironing board wasnt messed up in the middle. These are minor things but they were slightly annoying. Overall great hotel.
Very clean, nice atmosphere and the staff are very courtesy people to talk to. Besides the lady that cant brew coffee in the morning, everything else is wonderful. Loved my stay.
The staff was okay the place was fairly clean overall a good strong four Stars
Nice place and good facilities. Reasonable rate stay. Fully equipped kitchen with complimentary English breakfast.
Located in an odd business park area with motels and suites towards the front. Place itself was nice. Breakfast was standard good. Room could have been a bit cleaner, but it wasnt dirty either
Interesting lay out. Rooms are like mini condos. 4 rooms per building. Liked the interior lay out and work desk with manager style chair in room. Exterior of buildings looked old.
Its not horrible. The staff seems very friendly. The rooms were clean. They could have used a good vacuuming but it was alright. The beds are comfortable. The problem with the hotel is that because its next to the interstate, its very loud. You would need the tv on to drown out the sound all night. Our other problem was that our neighbors above us were loud. Not because they were partying but just because you can hear people walking around and moving stuff and talking. The floors must be thin. It was/is very difficult to sleep. And the pillows arent so great. We probably wouldnt stay here again but some might not mind it.
Service was ok. Room smelled of mould, very basic amenities, screen for sliding glass door was broken and just placed against the glass on the outside, place looked tired. Location was good.
Very clean room, friendly staff. You can tell its an older property, but its well cared for with updated kitchens and baths. Stayed in a loft unit which was great for our daughter, gave her some private space. Highly recommend!
Very nice efficiencies! Helpful staff. Right across the street from the sheriffs station. Good local restaurants that deliver. Close to shopping and restaurants.
Very nice place. Great staff and very helpful! Stayed here for two nights with my kids after hurricane Irma because our power was out. Awesome hotel!
Nice courteous customer service, clean suites. Definitely worth the money.
It is a mixture of old school charm with modern appliances. It has a feel of nature to it. I loved the fact I got the chance to see baby lizards and squirls running around. I was in heaven.
The rooms were dated but well maintained. Our room was surprisingly large and the staff was great. The surrounding area can be a little questionable at night.
Great location, comfortable beds, great breakfast! Id stay again
Very nice clean and spacious rooms. Free breakfast the next day. Had some noise problems but that was not the fault of the hotel. Would stay here again
Beautiful and big efficiency style units with stainless steel appliances and basic kitchen necessities. Staff is always nice, serviceable breakfast, and edible dinners. Only down side is many drawers and closet with doors that are quasi broken/stuck. Very good option for long term stay needs. Near highway, many restaurants, and stores.
Very nice people. You feel wanted and appreciated.
My room had a huge bug in it.Edit: If your a business and looking to book for stay, please read my experience with the hotel. This is the second time my company booked with sonesta. My stay was extended due to work and was confirmed by my company that the rooms were indeed extended all I had to do is redo the 100$ down payment .I received a call to come down to the lobby to finalize my stay and I came to do so and gave my card for the 100$ .. Ms.Poloma (the person at the front desk) stated that my card was declined and if I had another form of payment? She stated that I needed to pay for the extended stay? I told her that the room was paid for and that you didn’t tell me you were going to charge me for the whole stay.Keep in mind the stay was finalized already and emailed to a separate co-worker the night before.Due to the employees having separate emails . Ms.Poloma had no record of my company finalizing my stay and I was stuck at the front desk for over 30 minutes trying to reach out to my company and telling her everything was already paid for. I got ahold of someone and she was forwarded my company card to finalize my stay for a second time. All was well EXCEPT that the room WAS STILL CHARGED ON MY CARD? So the hotel worker stated it was declined but that was not true when I saw the charge on my bank. I emailed the hotel asking for an explanation regarding this because I thought that was resolved..PS: my room still had a cockroach running around in it
Friendly staff!! Great location, clean and spacious rooms. As a mother of three, having a whole kitchen available to us has helped out lot on not having to buy as much take out food.
Wonderful! Florence Carlson did a wonderful breakfast. Rooms are very clean.
Standard Residence Inn, good staff, clean. Only reason it didnt get 5 stars was barely warm water in the shower. No matter the time of day.
Clean room. Good breakfast selection. Staff was very friendly. Would certainly stay again.
Nice room. The kitchen is pretty new. Its a bit close to the highway. If you are a light sleeper then bigger trucks might wake you up.
Unit 1422 was very clean but it needs updating really bad. Dated furniture and the carpet looks so old. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was ok and the bathrooms were ok. The railing around the entire building had chipped paint and really bad rust. The landscaping was nice. The front lobby had a very nice lady working. We would never return unless it was updated. It also had old an run down hotels leading up to it. It seemed like you were in the ghetto. Made us feel better with a police station across the street.
The one star rating was based on cleanlines. My first room had a significant amount of hair on the sheets which of course leads me to think they may not change sheets between guest. They changed room and upgraded to a loft but the bottom bed had hair (again) and the top bed had a freaking spider (eeewww). I was done at that point and booked another hotel. They were nice enough at the front desk but house keeping needs to be improved big time.
