I was told I needed to replace all brake pads and rotors by a different auto mechanic in town... when I called up Allens to get a second opinion they set me up right away with an appointment and told me that they would drive it and inspect to see if I even needed replacement.Long story short - they found no brake pads were needed and did not charge me for bringing my car in. Could not reccomend this mechanic enough! They will not lie to you or steal your money. They want to do honest work, and do it with a smile. Theyve earned my lifetime business.

After spending a total of 15 years stationed at Camp Lejeune, this is the best automotive mechanic shop in Jacksonville. The repair and customer service is great. They never try to upsale me. I’m from out of town and had oil pressure issues with my car that may have been catastrophic. I had my car towed to Allen’s over the weekend. They quickly and transparently went above and beyond to fix my car. Being 8 hours away from my trusted mechanic, I was so relieved to find Allen’s and their quality work and great customer service. Brought my jeep here for cv axle brake line and tie rod replacement work could not be performed unskilled mechaincs working the mechanic said he thinks my front struts are the wrong ones 🤣👀 i have a lift installed took it to another shop in Jacksonville it was fixed in 2 hours this was my second visit wait time was 2 weeks each visit work was not performed either time each time the excuse was it was just too much work for their mechanics so i figured i would try them a the second time with a smaller repair same results 0 worked done very lousy shop im glad it worked out the way it did i found a great shop in Jacksonville i plan to use for future visits

Allen is wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable and certainly fair when it comes to price. He took my 71 nova which wasnt running very well and got it tuned up perfectly. Tina who works at the front desk was also very pleasant to work with. I called her once to check on the progress of my car and she was very friendly and helpful. I wouldnt want to go anywhere else in Jacksonville after my experience with Allens automotive.

I took my Chevy Cruze to the dealership in the summer because my car was stalling and was very slow to accelerate. The vehicle was covered under warranty so I didnt have to worry about any outrageous charges or recommended services. My vehicle was having the same issues a few weeks ago and so I took it back to the dealership. Sadly, the warranty was expired, and the total cost of repairs was close to $2000. No way I could afford that.At this point a coworker and a couple of friends recommended that I take my vehicle to Allens and it was the best decision Ive ever made. Tina handled the front desk and is seriously one of the nicest people Ive ever met, and Allen took the time to show me what was actually wrong with the vehicle. We walked to my car and popped the hood and he even showed me how to maintain the vehicle to prevent future issues. They are both very friendly and knowledgeable.I wont be living in the area for much longer, but if my car happens to have issues again, I will take it back to Allens Automotive. Their customer service alone is worth giving them a call.

I took my mom here to get her jeep fixed. The lady in the office, Tina I think was here name, she was super nice. They were honest and upfront about their prices and they had my moms jeep fixed in a day. Its hard to find any honest mechanics, Ive had really bad experiences around here. This place is great, and I highly recommend it.

Took my 02 Camry to get brakes changed and they provided great customer service including showing that my the brake pads were not the problem but something else entirely and only only charged me half the price of Firestone.

Ive had so much trouble with my Magnum and I have taken it to many places to attempt to have it fixed. While every other shop in Jacksonville I took it to, including the dealership, was glad to just take my money and put some sort of band aid, Allens was the only place in town that was straight up with me. They told me my engine was bad and it was on its last leg and that I should park it and not put any more money into trying to get it to pass inspection. I was not upset that they turned my vehicle away. Rather I was so grateful for their honesty. They really did go above and beyond with trying to help me in the past to get the Magnum to pass inspection but when it was time, they told me. This was about a year ago. I recently replaced the engine and have taken it back to Allens to have it inspected! I was so happy to see their faces. I love this place and I will never do business with anyone else, if I can help it. Thank you Allen and Tina! :)

My 2015 Dodge Durango had a check engine light on and figured out it may be one of my O-2 sensors. I gave Allens a call and got my SUV in the next day. Brought them the O-2 I purchased and asked them to install it for me. The mechanic recommended I let him take a look at other possible problems my suv may have, and I agreed to it. I am sure glad he reccomend a look over!! My rear break pads need to be replaced and recommend a break fluid change. I have put on 117,xxx miles on my suv and had not changed the rear break pads of break fluid flushed since I purchased the vehicle brand new. My suv was done after a few hours and it runs like a champ!! This was not the first time they have done work on one of my vehicles and Allens Automotive is TOP NOTCH! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Fair prices, honest mechanics and tons of information before any work is done. I trust Allens Automotive with all my vehicles, and you should too!

I just moved to the area from Pittsburgh and wasnt sure where to take my truck. Ive had nothing but bad luck with it over the last 6 months and everywhere I took it up north, cost me an arm and a leg. I read the reviews, took a shot and I am glad I did. I gave them all my issues and told them I had 2k and told them to fix what was wrong and to go looking for any problems. They could have easily taken me for all that money but they didnt. They called and told me what needed to be fixed, and it was less than a 1/8 of what I budgeted. The exhaust was the only thing they couldnt fix and referred me to a guy name Ron. Hes a character but just like Allens garage, was honest! About a month later my truck had another issue. I called them up and not only did they remember me, they took care of me again for a fraction of what I though it was going to be. In a world where everyone seems to be looking out for themselves, they are good people, definitely worth taking your vehicles to. I dont write reviews but didnt know how else to thank them.

I have been a repeat customer of Allen’s Auto since 2015/2016 and had 3 cars serviced during this time. I have had large to small jobs done by Allen. He and his staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Every time I have a service, I receive a full explanation of what needs to be/what is done. They also go out of their way to find the best deals on parts and save money for unnecessary services. They have gone out of their way and answered questions about inspections, titles, tags and other things to help my family and I. I have lived in the area for 17 years and have been taken advantage of by several car repair places. Allen and his staff are honest!!! I went in with a car that had SO many problems, and the check engine light was on. I brought it in and I was treated with great customer service, they were completely honest about what I NEEDED to get done, but what could also be fixed. When they told me the price for everything, I shopped around, and the prices were fair. I am so happy I found an auto shop I can trust, and wont try to take advantage because Im a woman.

I have been going to Allens shop for about 4 years now and have not been disappointed. I usually like to work on my own vehicles but when I am not comfortable with a certain job I will take it to Allens. Their quotes are always fair and precise. If you take the time to listen Allen will explain everything you want to know about what is wrong with your vehicles. I have been given quotes on certain jobs and the price has risen, but that was because there was an unforeseen piece that needed to be changed and they called and let me know. So I was not surprised when it came time to pay for the work. All in all I would recommend this shop to anyone who wanted great service and a mechanic that you can trust with your vehicle.

Awful company, I had to call multiple times to try and get them to tow my truck to be worked on, after two weeks they towed my vehicle. calling multiple times and five months of a run around they told me they did not want to work on it. They charged me $100 for a five mile tow and cussed my father out while he was laying under my truck putting a chain on it to tow it to a trailer. I took it to another mechanic and it took him TWO DAYS to fix the truck, Never ever go here awful service and outrageous prices.

This shop came highly recommended and I can see why. They offered stellar customer service with excellent communication. I had an issue with my vehicle which I was afraid was going to be in the thousands to repair. However, after their diagnosis, the cost was only a few hundred dollars. They did repairs at a cost hundreds below any other service shop in the area.I was impressed with their professionalism and not offering to make unnecessary repairs to my vehicle when they told me my diagnosis.This is an affordable family business which did not take advantage of a customer, they provided skills and knowledge to help fix my problem and not break my bank.

Went to another garage and they told me I needed repairs that amounted to over $1000, these guys were recommended and fixed it for a fraction and no problems since. Totally honest and fair, quick work too, when they arent backed up, which is understandable given how good they are.

Allens wife runs the place and she was extremely rude to my girl friend and I when we came in for service. We were on a road trip from Arizona when we had car trouble. A local had recommended them but I would never do business with some one who runs a service business like that.

I took my car here because of positive reviews I read of them. It had been experiencing some issues with cutting back and the check engine light was on. also there was water coming from under my dash in the passenger side. I asked for an oil chage while it was there. Firstly they told me that they could not fix my problem with the water coming from my dash. they said they needed to clean out the vent but couldnt get to it because it was at an angle and that the coat hanger couldnt get through. ok, coat hanger? isnt there another tool you can use for this that actually for this purpose??? ok so then they said they couldnt find a problem and they just lubed up one of my spark plugs. and told me that my light might come back on. Um, why did i bring it to you then!?! So basically i was charged 100 dollars for an oil change. The next week the check engine light is right back on and actually cuts off with me at a stop light. I tow it back there and they said it would cost 400 dollars to fix the problem. When i asked why this wasnt discovered the first time the woman at the desk gets very defensive and horrible rude! I will never take my vehicle here again! So angry!
