Great gym! Even though yhe gym is full of experinced male body builders, as a woman I feel very comfortable working out here. When asked, the owner gives helpful advice about exercise and diet. Very affordable.

Best weightlifting gym in Michigan. Excellent equipment selection updates every year and well maintained.I used to live within 30 minutes and held a membership. I now live over an hour away and still make the drive on occasion because its that good.The owner is very well versed in nutrition and bodybuilding. They also carry a great selection of supplements and only sell quality products. No garbage.

Fantastic old school gym. Cybex/Hammerstrength equipment throughout with dumbbells going all the way up 150 lbs. Highly recommend for people who enjoy lifting

This gym is cool. Lots of tools to assist in your lifts. I like the Iso- machines and the fact that you can walk in to a gym that offers supplements and merchandise. Tanning is an offer too. Bro code is enforced at this location. Lifting is life. 💪🤘

This an extremely nice facility with tons of quality Hammer Strength equipment and friendly staff who gave me a tour of the equipment and even showed me how to use every piece (I even learned something new despite extensive use of a variety of work out equipment!) All of the equipment is well maintained, and almost all of the padding was brand new. Very impressive! There was also a redundancy for many machines and free weights for muscle groups, so that wait time for anything was minimal. Please consider putting in a sauna!Best gym in the Jackson area, by far!

I absolutely love this gym. There are a lot of people who are in very good shape. At first it was intimidating. Now i just use it as motivation to push myself harder to grow stronger. Great equipment and a lot of it, too!

Great Gym Highly Recommend!!!

Ive been a member for close to 2 years, and this place keeps getting more run down. Dirty, rude management, and you have to dodge rain water running in. The parking lot will take out your axles. Womens bathroom faucet has been running a constant stream of hot water a long time, and the owner doesnt care. Hes more interested in posing shirtless with his shorts jammed high up on his legs in the main weight area. For goodness sakes - theres an entire backroom for defunct classes... use that for posing! Too much shirtless activity taking place when its not appropriate. If you want dirty run-down conditions and an owner who thinks its appropriate to act studly and condescending to clients and employees, this is the place for you.

I worked out here because I was traveling to the area for a week and needed to continue regular work outs. I had looked online at a number of gyms in the area andbased on the pictures, this one fit my need: that it had real weights.Not to disparage the other gym in the area, but those are great if your goal is cardio.The gym was clean, adequately staffed, and staff was friendly. It was also huge, and not crowded. If there is a weight or a station you need, they probably have it, and they probably have two. This is a serious gym. If I remember correctly the dumbbells went up to 130 lbs. Free chalk is readily available.That being said, if you like to finish up your workout with cardio, youre going to have some issues. I used the recumbent bike, which uses the pedaling of the individual to power the readout that tells you things like distance and pace. On most machines, there is some type of battery backup that will allow you to stop for a moment (if you need to change a setting, adjust the seat, etc) without the machine losing data.The one I was on seemed to have a dead battery, because if I stopped for half a second, for any reason, the machine shut down, and would do a complete reboot. Once I figured it out, I just resigned myself to ensuring that I never stopped my legs at all for an hour, even to fix position. Also, the touch screen was almost non-responsive.So, that was the only real negative, and Im not going to deduct a star because of one machine.They had a very easy day pass procedure (literally took 2 minutes), and the cost was $10 when I went, which was very reasonably priced.

Prison City is the only gym I would even think about training at while in Jackson or around the city. Hard- Core, music bumping, legitimate training gym. Great staff who is friendly and know what they are doing! Wish this was around 10-12 years ago!

I have been a member of this gym for almost 3 years. Since that time, I have watched the cleanliness and the friendliness of staff detiorate. The equipment is very nice. If you plan on joining or touring this gym, be prepared for the parking lot. It is terrible with many deep potholes.This gym has potential to offer more services in a back room behind the cardio equipment. It was at one time used for a yoga meets Pilates, meets sometimes the trainer would show up and sometimes not. May be wise to spend the money to hire someone who will be there on designated times and days and advertise that yoga or Pilate classes will be held. I don’t consider a computer printout hanging by a piece of tape, eye catching advertisement.

This is the best gym Ive been to in my life. Excellent equipment and atmosphere.
