Sold a car to the Irving CarMax location within the past week, and it was really a great experience. CarMax offered a good price, all the workers were helpful, I just sat and waited while the paperwork was finished up! Seamless process, and I would definitely recommend taking your car up there if you’re looking to sell. (or just do the online offer, they appraised the car the exact same in store and did not bring the number down at all)
An easy stress-free experience from start to finish. Four stars only because there was quite a long wait after we had committed to buy the vehicle for the finance department to arrange for our trade-in payoff and new financing. I mean a loonngg wait. But still, we are very pleased and recommend CarMax to others all the time.
Didn’t have the best experience but it wasn’t the worst. Not everyone was on the same accord very disorganized with information and I had to call and make sure the representatives who were assisting me were actually obtaining the information needed. However, I can say the final sales associate I encountered (Austin at the Irving location) did everything he could to ensure my family got the car we desired and with great service. If the evaluation was solely on his service it would be 5 stars.
We are a wholesale buyer. On 9/13/2021, went to pick up 3 vehicles from Irving location. Simple enough! Took a cashiers check to the Business center to get those funded. Young Hispanic female was unable to find those purchases in the system. I repeatedly asked her to seek help of a supervisor or an expert. Her response was “I know what I am doing”, “you are the one saying the wrong company name”, “you didn’t buy anything” short of calling me a liar. I pulled up the carmaxauction.com logged in and tried to show her our company profile, transactions etc. She was still not convinced, she did not even glanced at the phone as if she had already made her decision. Eventually, someone else had stepped in and was able to sort out the situation but that wasted precious 30 minutes of my day and gave a bad taste in the mouth. Why do you have someone with this type personality serving your clients? Just because she is bilingual that shouldn’t give her free pass to be ill-mannered.Either, properly train her (if she is trainable) or have her work somewhere far away from clients. Please!!!
The only reason I purchased from CarMax was they had the exact car I wanted at their Clearwater, FL location. I had the vehicle shipped and I uploaded all of the required information, applied for financing, online appraisal for the vehicle I wanted to trade in. I dont think any of that did a thing to speed up the process. It still took almost 3 hours to complete the trade in and purchase. Including cleaning the car that had spent 3 days since it arrived in Irving getting prepped. Which I dont think they cleaned anything, the windshield was covered in grime (on the inside) and I wiped down all the surfaces, the towel was covered in dirt. Dont expect to ever get an email or voicemail returned. Ever. Each time I called, I got someone different. Appointments werent with the person I was told they would be with and now Im trying to get someone to help with a key fob that straight up doesnt work (yes, Ive replaced the battery) but each call to the service department goes to voicemail, Ive left a message once, and called back a couple more times, to no avail. If at all possible, I wouldnt deal with CarMax again. They are only getting 3 stars because I did get a good price on my trade-in and my sales associate, Okla Ogwudile, was very nice to deal with.
Absolutely fantastic experience with CarMax! Friendly, prompt and professional staff. Made me a great offer to buy my car. Dont waste your time anywhere else.
I was contacted in advance of picking up the car and offered an express experience, which was explained as being at the dealership for 30 minutes as opposed to 90 minutes. I waited 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment and people helping me would disappear for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. No one offered to go over the car with me and I found many more scratches than the photos depicted. One of two car remotes did not work and it took over 20 minutes for someone to help us and exchange the battery. In the end, the entire experience took over 90 minutes, so the express service certainly wasnt provided and clearly was misleading.
I went to the Irving location. Unfortunately, I forget the name of the man who helped me set everything up to purchase my vehicle, but he was very friendly and thorough. So was the man who walked me through signing all documents. It was a pleasant experience and didnt take too long, which was a bonus. I look forward to buying my next car here!
Not good at all. I had to wait a week to get the car bacause of the quality inspection. I got the car and the convertable top does not work due a missing Partition in the trunk. The quality control inspection should of caught that. I but I guess they didnt do it. I will never buy from Carmax again.
Loved working with Gerald Bridges. He’s very cool and was quick in process. And offered a great value to my car.
What a horrible experience. I spoke to about 6 different people in the entire process of trading in my (leased) vehicle. Waited 3 days to receive a quote of which they seemed happy to offer...and it took till the very end of the process, before handing the keys over, to find out that Carmax doesnt buy leased vehicles from certain institutions...now how is it not 1 of the 6 people I spoke with, let that process go as far as it did? What a joke.
I did not have a good experience at CarMax in Irving, TX. It started off well but went awry mid process. So i was able to locate a car in the Houston, TX area. I paid the transport fee and the original location promptly shipped the car to Irving- it arrived two days later. They told me after it arrived a 126 point inspection would be done to ensure car was clean and in good shape. Three days after that, CarMax in Irving, TX called and said the vehicle was ready. I uploaded all of the required information which I was told this would save me a lot of time at the dealership. When I arrived, the car was filthy like it had been in a desert storm. Nothing like the photos. Also, the check engine light was on. Like- could you not have attempted to clean up the vehicle and let me know the check engine light was on? What was the point of the 126 point inspection. Well, THREE hours later, they still have not processed my refund. I understand there is a process and I have lots of patience but this experience has me not wanting to recommend CarMax to anyone I know. Communication is EVERYTHING! Also, my time was completely disregarded and I cannot recommend doing business with anyone who doesn’t value their customer/client’s time.
My experience with CarMax was mostly positive. I found the perfect car, but not without a few bumps in the road. The first car I requested from another location arrived about a week later, but it reeked of wet dog smell. I was surprised that they would even show the car in that condition. The next hiccup came with the second request. I wasnt notified when the car arrived, and someone else bought it before I had a chance to look at it. The last car from CarMax I bought it a different location. As I was driving home, a message appeared on the screen that maintenance was required, see the dealer. So I took it to a Toyota dealer, and sure enough, it required an oil change, air cabin filter, and steering alignment. I had it done, and now the car is perfect, but it would have been nice if CarMax had done the maintenance prior to selling it. Overall, I was happy with the transaction, but I did want to mention these minor complaints.
This place really is no haggle. Although I bought elsewhere, I was happy with the experience. I recommend getting your own financing as Carmax was twice what my bank offered me at another dealer. Not sure what the was all about?Staff are nice, professional, and no pressure.
Process was super easy. I spent 15 minutes checking out the vehicle, 15 minutes providing personal information to the sales person and 5 minutes accepting the vehicle at my home the next day.
Just sold our car at a extremely fair price to CarMax. The quote I got online was what they paid and I was pretty shocked because I expected the actual amount to be lower (as companies usually do.) The process of selling was slow and long. The lady at the counter quoted us for 3 hours and 45 minutes.. it ended up being 2 hours thankfully. Next time, I will definitely set my appointment to as soon as they open. Other than that, it was a great experience. I would definitely sell with CarMax again.
This place is an absolute joke when it comes to selling your car. I went back 3 different times, one requiring me to drive to downtown Arlington for the paperwork they needed, only to be told it was not what they needed by someone else.Ask for a manager, don’t mess around with anyone under that they’ll tell you the wrong process & have you there all day.
BE AWAREThey will run your credit without consent. They will also lie to you to get you in.
Very easy process - left the car with the appraiser and waited for the results. Once results came, went to the window to accept the offer and get a check. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. For a Thursday mid-day they were fairly busy and while everyone seemed to be working hard, my total time there was 2.5 hours so if you are planning to go sell them your vehicle, be sure you allow the time.
My experience was completely painless, from the person who managed shipping the car to Texas for me to test drive, to the salesperson completing my sale. All the folks involved were effcient and professional. Great customer service!
I have gone to Carmax for years, Ive never had issues with the cars I have bought from them and they have given me the most money for my trades, their financing is also very competitive, pretty happy with their sales process, I think you can really say the way car buying should be slogan they have sounds about right.
Awesome experience. Ask for Lori she was incredible and really patient for my daughter
I purchased a Honda Insight from CarMax in Irving. The process went very smoothly in the beginning. I had the car shipped from California which took a little over a week’s time. CarMax was supposed to do a final inspection of the car & call me to schedule a test drive when it arrived to their Irving location. I prequalified for financing online and completed my application over the phone. The only thing I needed to do was test drive the vehicle, make a down payment, and sign paperwork. They call it “express checkout”. During my test drive a maintenance light came on. The service team worked on fixing my problem while I made my down payment and signed paperwork. When driving the car home, the light came on again. So I asked the salesman if the service department could take another look. He informed me that they could and I would have my car back in a couple of days. It has been 2 weeks and the service department hasn’t even looked at my car. They informed me that it will be another week before they can even get to my car. At this point I do not trust them, this could be a lie too. It’s just been sitting on the lot. They have a 30 day money back guarantee and a 90 day warranty, but it doesn’t really serve you if they hold your car for 3-4 weeks and don’t properly inspect or fix any issues with your car. For all I know they just “fixed” it by turning off the service light. I have no idea if it has any other issues or needs any other maintenance done. Carmax was supposed to inspect the car before selling it. It’s also frustrating that I paid over $3000 down yet Im not able to drive my new car. They also did not follow up with me when I asked about cancelling the purchase. Once they have your money you’re no longer important.Update: Finally after 2 weeks I have my new car without any maintenance lights. I took 2 stars away from a perfect rating because of the long wait and because the car came with finger prints all over the rear windshield and a something crusty in the seats, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. Thank you. I’m content.
My wife and i love this location, the staff is friendly, professional and always very considerate. Steve helped us get our vehicles appraised which was a breeze and our saleswoman Chelsea was very patient and attentive when it came to buying process. We never feel pressured to buy a thing unlike ol’ clay cooleys sweat boxes down the road. We will definitely be returning for our future car buying and selling needs.

I felt the car buying process was just for the SALE. Their was NO follow up call to Thank me for purchase. When I called back to my sales rep not even 20min from leaving the purchase to let her know that their was something wrong with the vehicle she told me to call service and make an appt. If I was the sales rep I would of ran to the service dept for my client, thinking that the sale that just completed just helped to feed my family. I guess I think different from the world....BUT I will say this NEVER again will I buy from that center. They didnt fix any of the repairs that were put in before the vehicle was purchased so I took it to my car body guy to fix and paint. It is what it is a SALE...ITS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.
Very polite staff, clean well kept building and great customer service however their offer was $6,000 less than it should have been because they couldnt find the limited Night• edition in the computer pull down.At the end of the day money talks, and no amount of customer service will take precedent ove money on the table. And I went back in for clarification and re-evaluation so dont tell me you work with your customers. I was told oh well.
Friendly at first. Did not have the vehicle we were looking for, but we wanted to find out what they would purchase our car for. So, we waited a few minutes and someone came and collected our personal information and then asked for our keys. We said we would like to be present for them appraising the vehicle and he said why would you want to do that? And we replied because we have personal items in the vehicle. He refused so we left. We told him that was very rude and he LAUGHED at us. We then asked for our personal info back and he threw it across the table. We will never be returning to CarMax.
Never ever again in my life!! Came to sell a vehicle and all went well till it came time to deal with the so call business office. When I walked up to the window I didn’t understand why people were so upset as they dealt with the window staff. Well needless to say 3 hours later I definitely understand. If a person has to wait this long be upfront with them or even have some of the paperwork done electronically! The young lady I dealt with initially had a chip on her shoulder and stated I would have to wait 30 minutes initially and 45 minutes afterwards smh
The staff was very polite and great, but being there over 5 hours was horrific. Waiting on Finance to sign papers, is like waiting on paint to dry. Also, the internet sales coordinator should be taken out of the process completely. Everything entered was erased by her. Why, I have no clue. I feel once those 2 processes are evaluated, then things would go a lot smoother, and faster.
Carmax always comes through for me! It’s my second time getting a car from them. I really enjoy the fact that I can browse and do most of the legwork myself online before I even step foot at a dealership. I don’t know about anyone else but I’d rather not deal with salesmen if I don’t have to—no offense to anyone! Lol Love my new car!
U waited for over 5 hours to sell my car. I watched customer come and go ahead of me. Wheni asked Juan in the business office he told me to have seat and wait another 45 minutes within explaining. He was rude short and very dismissive. Will not be returning
I have always had a great experience with carmax!!! But this last time is so very poor!!! I have had a problem with the car nobody will call me back for a month now to fix the car!!! I just want to take it back😠😠😠 the customer service is horrible right now!!! Its impossible to get anyone on the phone to fix my issue!!!
I had such a great experience buying a Nissan Rogue from Juan! He kept a close eye on the inventory and worked very hard to make sure I loved the car I bought. One day I came in when he wasnt there, and he even came in before his shift to help me out. He went above and beyond to help me find the best option in my price range with features that I thought would be out of my price range. I would recommend Carmax (Juan specifically) to anyone looking for a hassle-free way to buy a car.
Online experience was perfect, I found the car I wanted and I was able to reserve the vehicle at ease. I started having issues after visiting the dealership, It took about 3-4 days to make the purchase.Theres either lack of urgency or lack of leadership and everyone seems to be on their own program.
Probably one of the worst experiences Ive encountered. We had the deal finalized online and got to the place to test drive the car and the car was mistakenly not there to only learned the car was sold. So now we were forced to go through the process all over again. Rerunning or credit and searching for documents etc. All the information that was given to us over the phone apparently was incorrect based on the manager in the building. We were there all day and I had to take off work and it was supposed to be a simple test drive sign papers and out.
I’ve purchased a vehicle. While within the 30 days, I began experiencing some issues and taken the car in for service. The subsequent 3 weeks have been a nightmare.
I Bought My Car Here About 2months Ago They Promises “Reliable Cars” Yet My Car Has Broke Down Twice While I Was On The Highway. Brought It Back 3 Times To “Fix Every Problem” But Im Still Having To Deal With MAJOR Issues!
Be sure to cancel any plans you have for the day if you plan on coming here. Got here at 12:20PM for my appointment at 12:30. I’m still here and it’s past 6PM. It only took me 20mins to pick the car I want to buy. So that’s almost 6 HOURS OF WAITING. (Still haven’t got to the part where they prepare and I sign papers, so I’ll probably be here another hour or so on top of that). If you absolutely want to buy from CARMAX, don’t waste your time in the Irving location. It annoys me to see how they respond to the reviews saying that they care about their customers.
We are a dealership and purchase many vehicles at the auction. We have been calling for months about many titles. Each time we are told something different, and yesterday was the worst experience. I spoke with the manager Ruby who started the conversation off with... we completed this and yall should have the title. I then explained no, we never received and was last told Carmax needs a AOF to finish the title. She then looks at the record to say... oh yes. So after months.. nobody has been working on it. She was very rude and even ended the call in my face because I was asking her when I should call back because they NEVER return the call. If she is this rude with a customer.. I see why they are so backlogged because employees probably ended their employment because of her nasty rude attitude.
The process was very straight forward and simple, but the wait times for financing seemed extraordinary long.My biggest gripe was really that the car was filthy when I got it. When you make a purchase so huge, you’d think that there would be cleaning involved. I had a car shipped from another location, and I was able to come in to test drive the next day. The car had residue everywhere and gunk caked inside one of the car doors. My sales person told me they were “cleaning the car” but I received it in the same condition. I was so exhausted by the wait times that it left. This was eating at me- so I sent a text to my sales person asking when I could have my car cleaned/ detailed. I was told in short manner that car max doesn’t detail. It was odd because every other car I test drove was in fact clean. I explained the gunk and my sales person told me to come in- after his original push back, I didn’t even want to bother coming back in. I just paid a car wash to take care of the issue. The sales person isn’t in control of very much, but this was something he could have corrected without pushback.
Going to keep it short. Suzy, she’s the one you gotta go in and ask for her! Definitely patient and understanding in all my concerns! Highly recommend her!
I sold my car to Carmax. The process was really smooth and easy. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Selling a car to CarMax could not be easier. Was quoted a price online and they purchased it for the full quoted price. Less than a hour start to finish.
I bought a car at this location this past weekend and it was a frustrating experience in terms of wait time, but an experience that was single-handedly improved and saved by an OUTSTANDING employee: Alex.I prefaced actually going in and purchasing my car by uploading all of the necessary documents into the CarMax online Before your visit portal so I thought this would make the actual process of picking up the car streamlined. I was sadly mistaken.Upon arriving, I met Alex, the CarMax rep that guided me through the process, and proceeded to learn that the online portal for uploading documents is anything but robust.Alex, being the good sport he is, took the time to fix whatever problems the system through at him. He ended up having to print my documents, rescan them into the system, and then wait an absurd amount of time for the final documents to be ready for me to sign.I arrived there at 4pm and didnt end up leaving with the car until after 6:30pm. This seems like an extensive amount of time to wait given the fact that I had everything required for the purchase already submitted before walking through the door.I cant stress the fact enough that the only difference between me having an awful experience and having a decent one was the personable, friendly attitude Alex had about the whole thing. He was very transparent and had some great conversation to cushion the long wait time. He truly deserves the praise of management (as well as a raise (dont be cheap when it comes to retaining model employees, CarMax)).
Not sure what’s going on with Carmax services and parts department. I have literally been calling this particular location everyday for almost two weeks for service for my car and no answer each time, automated voice service have you leave a message for no one to call you back. Called the business line and they quickly transfer you back to the same line ..no answer, definitely changing locations.
Service Department does not meet standards! I purchased a vehicle and CarMax so called 100 point inspection never took place. My head light was out, my windshield wipers were broken (during April showers), paint was never buffed out, car was dirty, and etc. I scheduled an appointment with Jordan and waited and hour to be seen. Just for them to say they had none of the parts (waste of time). Jordan was supposed to call me once parts arrived, I waited a week and no call back. I called him and he said he forgot. I’ll give him that pass. We scheduled a Saturday drop off and loaner car pick. Just for me to get here today and no one knows what I’m talking about. Jordan never complied the appropriate paper work nor did he prepare a loaner car. Now I’m here waiting and their saying it will be a minimum of 1-hr, maybe 2-hrs. But that was only after I refused to just come back Monday... I’ve wasted my time long enough. DO BETTER JORDAN AT THE IRVING,TX LOCATION.On the other hand, Sly from the sales department was great!!!
Excellent customer service sold our suv was offered way more then the original dealership we purchased from
Selling my car with CarMax was so easy! I’d do it again if I had the chance! Everyone was very helpful and they gave me exactly what I was looking for!
Out of the 4 offers I received, Carmax exceeded all others and the process was super easy. Thank you so much!
I purchased a 2017 Range Rover sport from Michael Linton. He provided an excellent buying experience at CarMax Irving!! I would highly recommend him to friends and family - it was a no hassle, no haggle experience which was key for me to make the purchase. He’s a rising star.
Very pleasant and easy. The sales people were very helpful. This is my second vehicle purchase at CarMax Irving location. I highly recommend CarMax.
Horrible scammy place! My friend who almost got scammed wrote her review on Yelp, howeverI feel like this needs to be shared on here. She was originally quoted $4000 for her car, then she went inside and then an employee told her a couple minutes later that her car was not turning on anymore. They “jumped” the car and it still didn’t work so they offered her $1500 for it. Next day, she goes back to get her stuff out of the car and checks under the hood to see if they happened to disconnect her battery and turns out THEY DID. She went to confront them and they ended up giving her the original quote for $4000 since the car was working perfectly fine after she reconnected it. Future customers: BEWARE and always check to see if they disconnected the battery. This place disgusted me with this scam and I would not recommend it to anybody.
Was able to sell my car at a reasonable deal. Business process took longer than expected but they were professional.
Went in to get a vehicle, test drove and the next day asked my rep to detail the car. The car was used I understand, but presentation wise just to test drive, there was crumbs all on the flooring, steering wheel was sticky, the car smelled terrible, in general the car was dirty. I was then told the car would not be detailed until the car was purchased. Okay, understand in some way? Why waste time cleaning a car until it gets purchased however to bring it to test drive dirty like this ... a shock. Then I come the following day to purchase this vehicle, and they did not decide to start the “detail” process until i was waiting to officially sign. I get the vehicle and the car is cleaner than what it was originally, the steering wheel still sticky. The following day, I take a better look at the vehicle trusting they would do a good job because it’s a dealership they should do more than enough. Well come to find out, there is still stale fries under the seats, the side of all the chairs are still dirty with crumbs everywhere. The sunroof glass itself had residue from a beverage still, the shift area still crumbs everywhere. presentation wise the car was filthy, I never come to write a review however, this just amazed me due to the fact that the first vehicle I purchased from car max last year was amazing. For me to come and have trust to purchase a second vehicle from them and to get such terrible presentation on this was just a shock.this is a vehicle I have been wanting for so long and to just be displeased because of a dealership being incapable of just cleaning the car. I had to go out of my way to clean this vehicle on the second day I had it.
What a great way to sell a used car!!! I got an offer online, took my car in to confirm its condition, and walked out with a check. Kim was super knowledgeable and very professional. We are customers for life!
I sold my vehicle to CarMax. I went in one day and had my car appraised and the value seemed very fair. I went back 2 days later and complete the transaction. I owned the car outright so it was a pretty simple transaction with no other lien holders. I checked in and was told there was no one in front of me and they would be with me in about 15 minutes. I walked out 2 hours and 15 minutes later. The business office was a mess. Understaffed and not well trained. The sales people were frustrated and every customer (buyers and sellers) were frustrated. Huge bottle neck in the process.
This was easier, faster, and more importantly more fair than I could have imagined. Went in to sell with my quote from online. Took under an hour for the entire process and walked out with a check that was in the top 90% range of what I would have expected in the market selling on my own.
Staff is very friendly and made the process of selling my car easy.
It was very great with the sales representatives that helped me and my wife thanks
Quick and easy process! Ahmed was friendly and efficient.
Straight lost a DL and Koby (the salesman) just shrugged it off.He was extremely careless, didnt respond to ANYTHING that was sent to him.The guy is the WORST.Update! The DL has been found by a DIFFERENT employee. Koby left in the back and swore to us they he directly remembers giving it back. My take away from CarMax now?Well for one the salesman are not honest.
I have bought multiple cars from this location and always had a great experience. Two weeks ago I went in to test drive and purchase a Mercedes GLC300. In spite of it being a very rainy day, the car looked and drove like new. I was given about $3000 more than I expected I my 9 yo trade in Mercedes. The entire process was smooth. The new electronic signature system took a little longer to process and print than the old paper version but everything else went very well. I love my new car.
Great Service, & I will advise Anyone looking for a car to give CarMax a chance.Best In Town 👍
Super nice. No pressure at all. They dont make commission so the sales associates just give you info to help you make a decision. They were a little slow because it was busy, but great experience overall.
I bought a sedan from CarMax recently. This was my first CarMax experience. Ive purchased many cars over the years and I will say this by far was one my most pleasant experiences. It was painless, seamless, quick and easy. No extra fluff and annoyance that comes with buying from a traditional dealership. I was in and out the door in less than 2 hrs. It also helped that I secured financing through my bank prior to making my visit. Initially, I found a car online but it was in a location 110 miles away. I requested a transfer and the car arrived in 2 business days. I took the car for a spin, it was in good shape and we got the paperwork drawn up. All staff members encountered from the rep Sean who confirmed the transfer, the individual scheduling my appointment, my sales consultant Ahmed Shaikh and Zahira W. from the business office were prompt, courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend CarMax for your vehicle purchasing needs.
Salesman was very helpful and respectful, several issues arose during the process, all of which were on my end, and he was patient and kind. Car was shipped in from out of state and arrived early, my only reason to have 4 instead of 5 stars is that the car was dirty inside and out upon delivery, it should have been detailed inside/out IMO as it was a 70k car.
Off rip, the whole transaction was cool! Derek and me hit it off talking about how much we loved Miami and Chevrolet Cavaliers....this was no ordinary visit and definitely not the car dealership feel atmosphere. I literally spent 1 hour and 36 minutes here from the time I walked in til the time I drove off the lot with the car. Derek was with me majority of the time and even when he handed me off to Brittany (sign papers), I was Allstate (in good hands). Neither of these guys had an I dont want to be here face nor was the conversation dry. Both employees were able to connect with me as if we were.....friends....and I can appreciate that. The place is huge, clean, and quiet might I add. I would definitely recommend someone else here!!
My experience was pleasant and has definitely influenced me to do business with CarMax again.
These guys were great made the car buying experience very easy. Also handled my requests for the issues that I noticed with the vehicles, without any problems.
Linzie was AWESOME!! No pressure...answered all my questions and courteous and professional!
Shannon Rivers is a service operator there. A lot of these dealerships don’t care about you or ur warranty after you purchase a Vehicle. But she researched and dug deep to find mine. She never said she would continue looking or call me back after we first talked. She couldn’t find it and told me to check my paperwork. Low and behold, a few hours later she called me back and found it. That’s going above and beyond.. give her a raise and more people like her ASAP
Updating because my comments will not show. For being a first time purchaser this was not the kind of experience I expected. Y’all docked points off my credit for running it a couple times now I’m stuck with no car and all the struggle you guys gave me. I really wish I never went to CarMax in the first place.
I bought this car which has had numerous problems. We have bought several cars from them and never had car issues like this. I tried taking it to Carmax to repair and they only let you bring your car in 7:30-11:30 M-F. Very inconvenient.
I purchased a car from Carmax that had very low mileage. At the time of purchase I noticed a slight problem with the driver side bumper. I inquired about it, but the selling agent just shrugged it off & said we can look at the Carfax Report. Carfax didn’t reflect anything other than an open recall. Today, when I brought the car to Toyota to get a recall resolved, I inquired about how much it would be to fix the issue. The Toyota Service Agent replied, it’s been damaged & repainted. To fix the issue it’ll be roughly $600-$700 which is more than my car note. 😒 Words to live by ~ If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I wish I could give them a negative 5 stars. From the 1st time I walked through the door and had to sit down and run my credit again for the 3rd time. Mind you I already did all the paper work over the phone. I was suppose to show up call the curbside number, they would bring the grout for me to test drive and if I like it I would finish the paperwork in the car on a tablet doing e sign. Needless to say they process didn’t happen. Took about 2 hours to get the paperwork for me on top of me sitting on the store which I clearly didn’t wanna do. Got the car home and the ac went out the very next day. Called multiple times just to be told I would receive a call back. NEVER DID. Fast word to almost 2 months after purchase and still no hard copy of my tags. Young lady that answered the phone didn’t really care to much about it as I told hey my paper tag was about to expire. She then said with a very sarcastic voice, you decided to register your vehicle in Tarrant city we are Dallas county, there’s nothing we can do. Your going to have to go and pay for another temporary plate. Needless to say I still haven’t received my plate and I still have no ac in the vehicle. This was a lesson we learned for sure
I came to Carmax to test drive a car and had a great experience! Ane Onoh was very helpful and friendly. I really appreciated all of his guidance!
Worst service ever at any establishment, did not have any of the prepped information ready that was already sent to them and took forever to even get my process on track when everything on my end was given already. Lazy communication.
Very quick and precise experience! The gentlemen I worked with made this experience painless and not at all time consuming. I drove 3 and 1/2 hours to this location nervous that I would be here all day negotiating with money hungry banks and sleazy car salesmen. But when they mean no haggle pricing they stay true to it! There were some issues with the car after purchase which is the reason for the 4 stars. Thankfully i got to take it to the carmax location closest to me to have the issues resolved. Overall I will still come back to purchase any future car I need.
Outstanding experience start to ALMOST-finish. Online assessment and appraisal was super easy. Then, taking the car to be inspected and get a full appraisal was easy. The only big hiccup was that when I brought everything in to sell my car, I had a new person/trainee, and I was told that it would only take 1/2 hour. In fact, it was almost 2 hours before I received my check even though I brought everything in that was required. The internet at the facility had gone down too...so that played a role. And I understand that the trainee had to learn...I just wished someone had been there to help him more so that I didnt have to wait over an hour past what they said it was going to take when I arrived. The check was also made out to my maiden name even though I was told it was going to have my current name on it. So, had it not been for the end experience, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4.
Purchased a car on 11/30/20. Sales Consultant was Sarge Cox. Great experience there all the way around. I had a pre-approval ready to go, so it was just a matter of driving the car I wanted. Everything went smoothly. No sales pressure during the buying process. In and out in around 2 hours. I would highly recommend Mr. Cox to anyone buying from this particular CarMax location.
Sold a car and it was easy and painless.
Had a great car buying experience with Sarge. Great personality, seemed like he actually liked his job. I was greeted upon entering and the process was simple and quick. There was a small mix-up with my car being at another location but they brought it over to me quickly. Sarge, Felecia, Fahad and Kevin were great!! If you’re in the market for a car, I would recommend this location.
We had a curbside appointment at 7pm and we are still waiting to sign paperwork at 9pm. All my documents were sent in days before and our salesperson took our down payment and went home. This is horrible customer service and I do not recommend that anyone consider this place!!!!!
The process was pretty quick less than 2 hours to sign paperwork the only problem i have is when you call no one answers the phone was on hold for 2 hours no one picked up had to end up just hanging up and drive there need to have more people doing customer service.
Not sure why all the negative comments. My salesman (Okal) was very attentive and walked me through everything. It went quick because I had completed online a large portion of the transaction. Clarissa, the lady who helped me sign paperwork, was also wonderful. I bought a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that runs nicely. Id do business with Carmax in Irving, again!
After getting on line evaluation, process for selling my car at the shop was quite smooth from the appraisal to receiving a check.
Worst customer service overall at every level. Manager(s) are rude and way unprofessional. APPOINTMENTS ARE WORTHLESS. ‘Business Office’ is the one you wanna stay away from. I recommend to stay away from the whole gimmick of CarMax. I had an appointment to sell car, was appraised and test driven for 3 times by different people at same location. Took them 9 hours to check me out. I was told, if I leave the place, offer is NOT valid. No Seven day is truth, it’s all GIMMICKS. STAY AWAY.
I bought my current car at a CarMax in another city. Im trying to purchase a new car but this CarMax is difficult to deal with. I keep getting emails and text about my offer, then told in the messages the next step is for an agent to contact me. No agent has contacted me. I have attempted to call the dealership 4x & never get an answer all I get is hold music for over an hour. This location could take some trainer/customer service tips from the Fort Bend/Richmond location. Their service was impeccable! This locations customer service....none existant.
I tried to set up the appointment by phone, but was kept on hold, so I used the online appointment program. Once we were there, everyone was polite and attentive. I estimate the time between our arrival and leaving was 90 minutes. Before going, I had printed out an Edmunds / Carmax Online Appraisal Form which printed out an offer. I decided not to present it at the store, which was fortunate. The offer I got in person at CarMax was 10% higher than the online offer.
This was only my second time selling a car, and I was a bit anxious about the prospect. CarMax couldn’t have made the process easier—I got a preliminary offer online and made an appointment. I braced myself for some haggling; much to my delight, they simply verified everything matched the information I had provided online and 45 minutes after I arrived, I was walking out the door with a check for the full amount of the original offer.
I have to admit it was the best experience Ive had buying a car. Ask for Joe Hastings, first time I didnt feel like being pressured to buy. Rather, Mr. Hastings took his time to show me all options I had available. Ended up with the car, price and warranty I wanted and needed (Dodge Challenger 2018).
If I could I would give this location a half star. We pruchased a car to be feed lies regarding the 3 day finance policy. I purchaesd a car and got the financing from my bank in 2 days. They told the bank that they could not change the lien holder or correct the paperwork over the phone that I would have to refinance the car when I get my registration which is an extra 10 days they I have to pay for interest with Carmax, or drive back to Irving which we did to do a refund and repurchase. But we we got there a lady that never came out to talk to us told Rees that she could only stratch out that total on the agreement and take the Carmax plan off and write in on the old buyers agreement. Which it is a legal document that you can right on and think it can be used with the bank. So everything they told us was a lie. I didnt get my down payment back when I got there, they said it will be sent in a check which I will be waiting on. But I am still without financing. I will be contact a lawyer to see if there is anything that can be done. I hate this place.
Great experience and smooth transition!Car sold in under few hours and left with a check in hand!
Definitely made it easy- appreciated the technician’s willingness to retrieve my license plate holder despite having to break it to get the plates off, as the holder had been a special graduation gift for me.
It was great, it took some time to complete but its good.
Returned a car and was told in 3weeks i will get my down payment never got anything so i called and said i will get a email and it will take 3 days to ship it been a month now and still nothing. Worst experience i had i had to keep calling asking why it still hasn’t arrived and they say the same thing over and over
