This company came to my home on short notice, gave me a quote, completed the job on times, and then continued to clean my home for nearly two years now. I cant tell you how much of a difference they have made in my life, for the better. Thank you guys!

~ BUYER BEWARE ~Unfortunately this was my first and last experience with a “professional” cleaning company. My gut from the beginning told me this crew would not fulfill our contract for a move-out cleaning package (floors, walls, doors, baseboard etc). Not only did myself and another person spend extra time (90 minutes) re-cleaning what was “completed,” I also had to repair a sink faucet they broke without telling me. They showed up late by over an hour and then “finished the $450 job” in 3 hours. Other competitors charge $80/hr so these jokers made $150/hr and half-a$$ed the work. I tried to communicate to Cody my frustrations but he hung up on me during our phone conversation - very professional.My take-away is this: listen to your gut and if you want a job done right, do it yourself (or at the very least DO NOT HIRE KODIM CLEANING SERVICES).

*WORST EXPERIENCE*The move-out cleaning overall was okay. I called after the cleaning because I had a few issues with the cleaning and had to spend over an hour cleaning up after them. None of our doorframes were dusted, nor were any baseboards. Spots on the walls were not cleaned--it was explained to me during the call that I would have needed a different package for this, I am not sure why this wasnt explained before the cleaning. I also specifically asked to get our garage swept out, even brought them into the garage during their pre-cleaning inspection, this was also completely neglected. The stairs were very obviously not vacuumed and one of our sinks was mysteriously broken afterwards, but I didnt even get to discuss this with Cody before he hung up on me.I was charged $450.00 for the move-out cleaning job, which we discussed would include walls, floors, doors, counters, etc. When I called to discuss my issues with the cleaning, I was told that they were there for 3 hours tops. Which works out to $150.00 per hour, or approximately double what any other company in the Iowa City area charges (most are $80 per hour for 2 people). But Cody will have no problems explaining to you that they do not charge by the hour, they charge by the job. If this is their standard of care, I highly recommend seeking another company for your cleaning. They were unprofessional and did a poor job.UPDATE: Since I cannot respond to the companies response, I will update my review. Asking for a very fair refund for a poor job is not blackmail, it is common practice when you are unhappy with a service you paid for. And hanging up the phone is not a professional way to withdraw from the conversation. You never would have came back to finish the job, Cody couldnt even say he was sorry we felt you did a poor job on the phone. He defended the poor job you did and said absolutely not when I requested a small refund, which would have still left you with over $100.00 per hour on average which is a higher rate than any other cleaning company I contacted. This was a very very fair request, which was immediately denied with no constructive conversation about it. We did not threaten a bad review, we told you we are giving you a bad review because you did a poor job, overcharged us, were incredibly rude, and offered to make zero amendments.

I learned about this company from their good reviews online so I called and asked for a quote. We are moving out and needed a move out cleaning service. I was shopping around cleaning services and they are the fastest to get back to me. They are also the nicest over the phone (some were rude).They went to our place and gave me a quote. The two guys who came over were really nice and funny. We went through with them and they did an excellent job! Our condo was very clean. Floors are very shiny and carpets are stain free. It’s also very easy to communicate with them. Very good customer service! I will definitely recommend this company!

Ive had Kodim cleaning my house twice a month for over a year. I value their personal attention so much and their sense of responsibility always makes me happy. Communication is easy - I always get a text or phone call to let me know they are on the way. My house is big and quirky and full of art projects and dogs so I know its not always easy to clean, but Kim and Coady get it done!

Being that most of the 13 reviews are from a year ago, I feel (as a recent former customer) I should provide a review of Kodim Cleaning Services based in Iowa City, IA.Kodim cleaners is a self made company by two guys—one young and the other old—who come to your home and perform a decent job in cleaning. It’s like asking your friend who doesn’t work a regular nine to five to come clean your home. Smelling of cigarette smoke, sometimes they arrive on time and sometimes they’re late. Even though you fork over $100s for their service, Don’t expect your empty waste basket to have new bags. Don’t expect them to call you if they break your items. They had the audacity to discontinue cleaning my home because I had an issue with how they handled informing me of how they broke an expensive frame in a spare room. I didn’t know about this until I went to pay the invoice later in the evening after they had left. Rather than discussing with me via phone or text about the situation, I had to read about it. Astonished, I looked in my spare room and see they idiotically put the broken frame with loose glass back on the wall. Who puts a smashed glass frame and hang it back on the wall?! Their concern was that I did not trust them and they no longer felt comfortable cleaning my home. I say “good riddance” and yes based on their recent actions, no I don’t trust these guys. It’s not a “professional” company as their website claims. Professionals...don’t walk into your home smelling of smoke. Professionals...don’t give you a time of arrival and then show up an hour later. Professionals...don’t destroy your things and not tell you directly. Amateurs do. Trust is earned. Not given. You’re providing a service. I’m paying you for that service. Potential customers, you have been warned.

Kodim Inc. used to be a five star cleaning company. But since Kim left and started a new company, Kodim Inc. has gone seriously down hill. I would no longer recommend Kodim Inc. for any type of cleaning service.
