Staff there is very helpful and friendly. Can order/mount any kind of tire, from street to off road. Highly recommend.

This place was crazy busy! It was a 2 hour wait to get tire work done but well worth it! They have been around since I was a little girl (Im a grandma now) and is where my dad always got his tire work done! There is a restroom available. Complimentary bottled water coffee hot chocolate and fountain drinks! Cant beat that! Tammy is the young lady working the front counter and she didnt stop the entire time I was there! Very sweet helpful and had a beautiful smile! Need car work done go to Downey!

Good group of people! They told me something (what their computer told them) and turns out they didn’t have it. Don’t care, they were honest and didn’t try blowing smoke up my you know what. Nothing better than honesty. I’ll be back.

Downey Tire Pros helped us out in a pinch. We ended up in town with some unfortunate luck and they were ready to help out with all new tires for our toy hauler. Staff was very helpful and made quick work to get us back on the road for our trip.

Not a bad place in a pinch, little over $25 to patch a tire. Over $20 to replace a valve stem. Saved myself over around $200 by choosing to go to discount tire. $88 vs $130 per tire. Still cheaper with a tire warranty.

I don’t know how they do it but they are so helpful and generous with their time and expertise. They have gone out of their way to pick up my elderly aunt numerous times, given me rides to work, offering to look over the problem without expecting to get paid for the repairs. The employees are ALL such friendly and honest people. It appears they love their jobs - even in this cold weather! I will continue to buy all of my tires at Downey even though I no longer work in town. It’s worth the drive to indianola!! .

One of the most professionally run and clean shops you can find in Iowa. Nice a/conditioned waiting area with cold water and fountain drinks for patrons, polite staff, quick and professional estimates. They do not charge you for estimate if you do repairs with them. They give discount on certain brands of tires if you buy all 4 of them. Will not take the job that they feel is above their level of expertise and will refer you elsewhere. One time when their service did not live up to their promise (failed AC recharge), they made it right for me by taking of the charge right away. They used to have great older mechanics. Eight years ago, they replaced front axle on my SUV, with 60,000 mile warranty on it. The axle is still in good shape. This business seems to truly care about its reputation.

I was in town for a baseball tournament and discovered I had a flat tire. I called Downey minutes before they were scheduled to close and they were so nice! They sent someone to the baseball diamond to give it a quick fill so I could drive it to the shop. They diagnosed the issue and were able to replace my tire. From moment I discovered I had a flat to having it fixed was 30 minutes and I was able to watch more of my sons game. Thank you, Downey!

Ive been using Downey Tire for my tires, brakes, and oil changes for 15 years. I keep coming back because they treat me so well. The owner, Jarid, and his staff are like a family, and they treat their customers with respect, fairness, and courtesy. They never do unneeded work, and Ive never had an issue with any work Ive had done. Ive had opportunity for free services at other places but, with my history at Downey, Im just too comfortable to try anyone else.

Called to get a price on tire balance. Price given was twice as expensive than anywhere else I called. I would really love to stay local. But not if it’s going to cost me twice as much as running to south side desmoines.

I have taken my car here for 3 years now and have received great customer service. In my opinion, they treat their customers vehicles like their own, stand behind their work and have fair pricing. They are always accommodating to my schedule and willing to provide a loaner vehicle to me at no extra charge. This is especially important because I am an outside sales rep and need a car to visit my customers. I will continue to recommend them for anyone who asks for my advice on a place to go to in town.

I took my 2007 King Ranch to Downey tire to have a 4 lift put on and to have 35 tires... on a recommendation from a friend... I wasnt sure how biased he waa but I thought I would try them. Jared and all the staff I dealt with were Great!, He took time from his busy schedule several times to talk to me, explain things to me. And when I picked up the truck it looked Showbiz! I had previously arranged for another tire store to install my 35 tires and I ended up taking it back to Jared Downey because the other shop wouldnt help me with rubbing and other noises. Jared again took time to really look at the problem, drive my truck down the street and then had some solutions for me and then helped me put them into action. I was very impressed with everything and especially the owner and his attention to problem solving. I will continue to spend money there with confidence that theyre going to take care of my needs. Told me 700 over phone, was 1200 when I got there, was overheating as I started driving less than mile away.. Still car never was at all driveable and added so many little/extra charges for things not done and others not even discussed. So dissapontent from the experience.

I feel like I just got robbed! I paid over $50 to have 2 tires fixed that had nails in them. When he told me what I owed, I was shocked. And he could tell because he even asked me if it had been awhile since I had gotten a tire fixed. On my way home, just out of curiosity, I called Walmart to see how much they charge. $10. That’s what they charge. That made me even more mad. I just assumed that in a small town that the prices would be comparable. I know now not to assume and to call around I guess. Ridiculous!!! I am still in shock!!

I love the service we get every time we go! They are always busy but worth the wait, the staff are very helpful and friendly. They care about the service they provide, they also use protective covers in the vehicle to not leave anything behind. Will be going back again for all future vehicle needs.
