The mechanic called and was telling me all these things that could be done. Even said my front differential needed to be done. He quoted 2500.00 and then said he is not done looking at it. I dont have front differential. I have rear wheel drive. He also said my battery was bad. I then advised him that Chumleys replaced my battery not even a year ago. This conversation told me he was not a good mechanic. I told him to write it all up and I would get a 2nd opinion. Well, he wanted to charge 130 for looking at it even though all I wanted him to do was find the vibration that I thought would be the center support bearing. So, my other half called the owner and settled on 54.00. When I picked up the car. None of the items he was going off about was on the list. The paper simply said I need a new center support bearing and nothing else other than saying my battery was good. Good? Wow. I am avoiding this place from now on except I will make them replace the battery that is under warranty. It was not a pleasant experience.

Had Chumbley’s change the oil and rotate the tires for a planned long-distance trip. They noted the brakes were too worn to be safe and were able to replace them as part of the service that day. Will be using Chumbley’s for all car needs from now on.

Unfortunately my 2012 Jeep as been at Chumbley’s way more then I’d like it to. BUT Chumbley’s is very professional and tried their best both times my Jeep was out their shop, and both times it was more a Southtown/Chrysler issue.In March it went to Chumbley’s to get a new battery as that’s what we all thought was the reason the Jeep died. But a day later it died again. The issue ended up being multiple recalled parts. My Jeep went to Southtown to be fixed, all was well until the end of May beginning of June.End of May my car would not start, we thought maybe the battery which was odd since it was a month old. It weirdly started and I could drive it for a few days before it died again. We called Chumbley’s they took it in and had it for a few weeks as I was out of the state for one of those weeks. Of course the Jeep started for them while it was out there. We picked it up I drove it for a few days and then it wouldn’t start. They once again came and picked it up a week later and thought maybe the starter, but as they got more into it they noticed the bolt to the radiator was not on correctly, a job previously done by Southtown back in March.Though it took most of the month of June to figure out what was going on I’m just thankful they found the issue fixed and was very professional during it all.I hope you don’t have to see my Jeep again for a while, my apologies for how unorganized the inside of my Jeep was. I would have attempted to clean it had I known how many times it would be at your shop, ha.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Chumbleys. I had to travel from TN to IA as my mom was having heart surgery. About 300 miles from my destination, my car broke down which is a whole story in of itself. Long story short, at the time, it appeared to be a busted belt. I finally got transport and arrived at Chumbleys around 3am. I spoke with Craig later that morning and after a little time, they were able to determine that the water pump had a seized bearing, which cause pressure/heat on the belt and the resultant break. They quoted me the price to repair and I approved. The next day it was already ready! Because I was from out of town and had a long trip back, they wanted to make sure it was 100% before I left which included them doing more tests and asking me to stop by before I left to check the fluid levels again. I cannot thank Craig, the technician, and everyone at Chumbleys for their profound customer service. They listened, cared, and did an outstanding job at a great price. The car is performing great and made the 800+ trip back without a problem. I would not hesitate to use their services again and only wish they had a shop in TN too!

These guys understand customer service!We drove to Indianola to pick up our daughter from college. Within the last hour or so of the trip, my husband started to hear unhappy noises when he applied the brakes. It was a Saturday morning - so we werent exactly hopeful that wed find someone who would have time to check the brakes, much less fix them.We pulled in to Chumbleys because they were obviously open. We were immediately greeted by Tim, the owner. He said hed be happy to take a look, acknowledging he was expecting another customer with an appointment in 15 minutes. Well, he diagnosed and fixed the issue within 30-40 minutes (luckily for all, the folks with the appointment were a bit late). Meanwhile, my husband, 8 year old daughter, our two dogs, and I were treated with exceptional hospitality. The people are great, the shop is retro-cool.We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Chumbleys. Thanks again guys for your help!

I went to chumbleys because I’ve used them before and they’re great. Good atmosphere, quality work and very personable. The motor blower for my heat/AC is hit or miss and it’s because there’s a wire that’s fried. They were going to replace it plus the piece the wire goes into, but the cost was way more than o could afford so I told them never mind. Which meant they had to put my car back together (I felt horrible). Anyway picked me up, so I could get my car and when I picked it up, it was no longer loud. I didn’t ask them to fix that but whatever they did made my car A LOT quieter and it was embarrassingly loud. I’m so thankful to them for going out of their way and going above and beyond. I’ll always use them for my car needs.

Went in to get a simple procedure done and checked on my car when I picked up my vehicle my expensive sunglasses were on the ground and the lenses were all scratched up and the owner didnt even pay me full price for what I had paid for them even though they were completely ruined. Go here if you plan on having your items ruined and things destroyed.

I was driving through Iowa back to Kansas and my check engine light came on, which obviously caused me to be in distress. I found this place on my phone and took it to them. I would estimate that the time it took to get it to them, figure out the problem, and fix the problem was probably 2-3 hours. I got lucky as they were probably not busy but they were quick and the price was reasonable. If you are ever in my situation I would take it here they really did me a solid favor. The least I can do is write my experience and tell everyone how great they did me.

I went into Chumbleys with a 2014 Volkswagen Passat I was anticipating buying from a dealership. I had them do a pre purchase inspection. When I found out that this did not include an OBD code scanner I asked the staff if I could get that done, the desk staff said yes but it will bring the cost to 80 dollars, I agreed.She fails to mention to me that this would be on top of the already 30 dollar pre inspection, so when I got the bill it was 125 dollars, I would have appreciated them letting me know.The worst part was the pre purchase inspection itself. The staff failed to notice a MASSIVE rear main seal leak that was found after I noticed the cars dipstick level was going low. I’m starting to wonder if they even lifted the car. I’ll go somewhere else for my service.Update: after addressing my concerns with the owner I was shocked by the sense of urgency in dealing with my issue. There was a genuine consern for making things right and the owner followed this up by issuing me a full refund. This type of follow up is rare and I appreciate the level of care that came with following up with my complaint.

Tim came to save the day when we were in town to pick up our daughter from Simpson College. We are from Colorado and we were experiencing brake issues after our long road trip from the day prior. We were out of luck finding an auto shop with a mechanic on staff on a Saturday to help us with our issue. So as I left one shop I saw Chumbleys auto care out of the corner of eye . I pulled in and without hesitation Tim was able to fit us in between customers to help us resolve the breaking problem. Within fifteen minutes our issue was resolved and we were back on the road again. Tim, you and your staff were angels that day and your help that day was much appreciated!

Tim and his staff took care of my sons 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee while he attended Simpson College for four years in Indianola. My son just graduated, so he drove back to AZ with a u-haul trailer in tow. We didnt know how long that car would last being as old as it is, but Tim and his staff kept it running like a champ. I am so grateful my mechanic here in Phoenix recommended Chumbleys, and even more grateful to have met such nice people. Tim Davison the owner, is not only a nice gentleman, but he is honest and fair. There were many times he would work on the Jeep and either didnt charge us or when the bill was presented I was surprised at how reasonable the fees were. I consider Tim and his staff friends of my family and we will miss them. You will not be disappointed if you decide to have Chumbleys take care of your auto needs. I certainly wasnt.
