I have been using indy tax service for the past several years. their prices are very affordable, and they use electronic filing. There is room for improvement in customer service- esp in relation to answering your tax questions. However, I have had the pleasure of working with senior accountant Nick McGuire - he has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and has spent several hours outside of his regular office hours researching my tax questions. Overall, I would highly recommend Indy tax service-- and ask for Nick McGuire in particular.

They are no more good option to file Individual tax. They missed up my 2020 & 2019 tax returns and I struggling to fix those. I received an IRS notice today and they outlined lots of mistake in my federal tax return. Now a day they dont talk to you in case you call them it goes to help desk and they keep asking same details. I would not recommend Indy tax anyone for individual tax return.

DO NOT GO TO THIS FIRM FOR YOUR TAXES - Firstly, I went here as one of my friends suggested. As it was someone whom I knew suggested, I paid them before they even gave me a quote. They basically filed wrong taxes and when I said I no longer need taxes from the firm, they simply went ahead with the paperwork again and claimed the money. I didn’t get a refund for the amount I paid, despite me not filing taxes with the firm. They denied to accept the filing of wrong taxes. They call you till you pay the amount and never call you to resolve anything later. They also gave different quotes(as their fee) for my colleagues. It was not a one fixed amount. Please save your time, money and all the frustration and go elsewhere for your taxes. NOT RECOMMENDED. NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. NO RESPECT.

Nick from Indy tax helped me. He got me tax refund that I never thought I would get. After initial filing we got query from IRS and he asked me to pay the amount IRS stated as tax due. I paid that but later he responded to that I got the refund and also received back the tax due that I had to pay. He helped me claim tax benefits for my in-laws visit to US, which no one previously stated to me. Big thanks to Nick and Indy tax for that. I know I am giving 5 star because they were exceptional for me but I would still say one area of improvement and that is to respond to client email without any reminders. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!They do not possess any expertise whatsoever! They prepared my forms incorrectly THRICE and the person working on my file argued vehemently that they were all correct. When I said I dont trust them, dont want to use their services, and asked for a refund, they said they dont do any refunds no matter what (they ask you to pay in advance, otherwise they dont start working on your case).Oh and they do not take or return your calls because theyre apparently busy all the time.I personally wouldnt hire them even if they offered their services for free!

This tax agency is completely useless! They screwed my tax returns and now they have completely refused to answer any of my emails or calls. They are running away from a situation they created for me. I would advise any and everyone to STAY AWAY! I feel they are into the habit of cheating their customers. They will scam you! When you want to file taxes with them, they respond to your emails within a few minutes but when you are in trouble they will not pay heed to you even if 100 messages are left for them to review and get back! Frankly if there was an option to give them 0 stars I would have done so but since that is not available, I am giving them 1 star. Save your money! File with other tax consultancies who will help you if there is any problem you might face in the future.

I had a very bad experience with them last year. They mentioned that they have filed my tax papers but they didn’t do it. Finally they have filed it only when the deadline date is over. They are not professional. They don’t respond on time when you keep sending emails. Better stay away from them.

When the IRS contacted me last year you were asking for more money and this year you raised the charges from $200 to $300.Happy with the explanation?

I have been using this CPA for last 5 years their staff has been very reactive, several times I had to correct the paper work provided and I never felt confidence in the paperwork done by the staff.I continued to use them since I was referred by a very close friend of mine.They are very expensive for the quality of service they provide.In the recent past I approached them for an amendment and it has been going on forever.For amendment I am directly working with the person who claims to own this agency and to my surprise she has been too busy to do business.

I have been filing my tax return with IndyTax Service since 2017. I am satisfied with Mehnaz and her expert team. They are competent, knowledgeable, maximize your return for each case, reliable. They are very much adaptive and knowledgeable for the indians as well and file tax return duly taking care of all aspects related to india income tax rule. Their filing is faster and portal is easy to navigate and questionnaire is most relevant. As compared to other various online firm, IndyTax Service always ensure me maximum return benefits. Only first year I had issues while applying ITIN for my child and obtaining child tax credit and due to communication delay between IndyTax Service and IRS, I was denied the benefit. That is the only time I was disappointed as I lost 1000$. Apart from that, every year they filed my tax accurately, refund processed in no time and I am satisfied. I referred many people to IndyTax and I know, some of them are still continuing to file with them. Finally, kudos to Mehnaz and her team.

I would give them negative stars, if possible. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with this place. They are highly unprofessional, communication is poor plus they are incompetent. Lots of errors and mistakes in preparing filing documents. Plus when you try to reach them, they do not respond. They will not answer your calls or speak to you. It’s like hitting a wall with no response. I have been very patient with them, have been trying to work with them for more than a month and was hoping that they would ultimately do their job. I was stocked with an amendment filing from 2016 and received a rejection from IRS when filed by a different firm. I then requested Max from Indytax to help me with this and finally got the same approved. It was all because of Max who filed the case so well that it was approved immediately. Interesting. Look at your refund policy. You did not provide me anything back, neither soft nor hard copy of tax file. Then why are you keeping my money? Moreover, no constancy charges mentioned in refund policy. Whatever you say and Whats written in policy are completely different. Only thing i could say Worst.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Worse service ever. She does not stay with her words. Their service has gone bad over the recent years. They dont even provide an estimate before payment. Their response time is very slow over e-mails and they never respond to your phone calls. They are very serious about payments not the service. Definitely not recommended.

I wish I could give them zero stars. I filed with them while on student visa on OPT few years back. They didnt even inform me that I need not to pay Social security and Medicare taxes while on F1. Which costed me thousands of dollars in incorrect tax deduction (which I came to know in 2019).

Just a quick note to my previous review’s response:It’s funny how you can be so consistent and quick with your responses on a public platform but not so consistent when your customers are trying to reach you personally via all forms of communication when they are facing a bad situation. You mentioned in your response that I have been provided with updates as and when you got them from the IRS. If this in fact was true I would not be posting bad reviews claiming that my follow-ups with your organization have had minimal responses. The delays being mentioned in your response have been caused by your organization’s consultants and I do not think it is fair for you to blame the IRS for these delays and long response times. Based off of the reviews on this platform, I can certainly say that I am not the only one that you have managed to get into trouble.

I had reached out to Indy Tax Service to file taxes for a Non-Profit Organization. Mehnaz is very prompt with her emails. We needed prior years tax details but the team who filed prior to me did not transition any information when their term ended. They destroyed all the documents. Mehnaz took time to dig through the records, and helped us file taxes in a timely manner. Had a good experience and would recommend them.

I have had worst experience with IndyTax during tax return filing for year 2015. I got return correction notice from IL, they missed the important information to mention during the file return. In start of 2017, again I got the notice from KS for owing $642.42 to them but I never worked there, I only stayed for 3 months in KS. When inquired about it with Kansas Department of Revenue they said they did not get this information. I have to send this information again and still trying to fix this with them. I will suggest not to go with organization to file your income tax return.

No refund yet and its more than 7 weeks. They dont respond to your emails. The extension they provide you will work till you do the payment and after that no one will pick your call. Worst experience.

Im going through a bad experience with Indy tax very similar like other people. They are very bad at customer service and responding to calls/emails. For the money they take for every filing, they dont provide any support / clarity/ guidance in case there is an inquiry from them. Deadlines and timelines mean nothing to them. Even in an off season, it is very hard to get a response from them. No one picks the phone calls either. If you want to be in safe hands, please use some other tax consultant. I had my trust in Indytax for 5 years, not any more.

I had very good experience from last 2 years but this year I don’t know what exactly happen they behaved very unprofessional, they asked me to pay amount first than they will give me quote, usually they were giving me quote first and than asking me the service fee, as per last two years of experience I thought let’s pay this amount but after that they (Mehaz) started ignoring my email, calls.i did a lot of follow-ups and finally Today (David) they told me that I hold some federal tax, now with this limited time how will I manage to talk to my employer and request to correct if there is any mistake. So please reconsider this company before taking service, otherwise you will also regret like me.

I had filed for taxes in 2016, 2017 and 2018 with you guys. Fabulous service in 2016 and 2017. But, in 2018, My tax docs were compiled wrong 3 times, despite filling out the excel sheet that you provided correctly. Also, you guys promised to offer bonuses for referring new clients. I referred roughly 6-7 people and have been trying to get that bonus but have received no communication from Mehnaz Qureshi and Dylan Hardisty. Every month since May, I have been sending emails to both of these associates and each time they forward to each other and promise it will be resolved promptly. I don’t think I would return to you guys next year and will make sure that my other referrals do the same.

I paid money on feb 2nd week on indy tax website and they mentioned that they mailed the document to IRS office on Feb 20th and will get ITIN within 8 weeks.Now almost 2 months over. Till now i didnt get ITIN.When i called customer care no response. Today mehnaz sent a mail said that i called to IRS office and waited an hour and didnt get response.Now i lose hope that whether i will get tax refund and ITIN or not.Very slow and worst service which i faced.

Very worst service. No-one is picking the phone in the office. Work culture is very sluggish and staff does not have enough domain knowledge.They messed up the ITIN application and 2014 amendment, Now they refuse to refund.They are not willing to reveal the documentation required in case of IRS query until you pay the fee. I will never recommend them.
