They didnt do my taxes but they did my moms taxes. There was an error at the IRS and they said they didnt receive her payment, I just thought they did the taxes wrong. Anyway, I left them a pretty irate voicemail and they got back with me pretty quickly and are working to correct it by running communication. Were not all the way out of the woods yet but theyve already done a lot. Theyve been really great to work with.

Judd Lawrie helped me get a big refund check from Indiana for my 2018 taxes. I had initially filed with Turbo Tax, and did not get the refund promised by them. I even contacted their customer service and a CPA they assigned to resolve this, but after wasting several hours dealing with them I just gave up. All they said is you have to file an amendment, without indicating what the issue was clearly, which was not helpful to me.Later in the year I happened to just come across Lawrie CPA group when looking for CPAs near my house and decided to have Judd review my return and see what I should be getting back. I went in without calling ahead or an appointment and was able to talk to Judd immediately. He provided me with clear guidance on what documents he needed to examine my case. He seemed quite knowledgeable and honest.When I provided him with the documents later that afternoon through a very convenient secure online portal his firm has, he not only identified the minor mistake in my return, but also put together the paperwork for an amendment and provided me with an envelope to mail the same to Indiana Dept of Revenue, along with a copy for my records. All within a span of 24 hours, and for just a minor fee!Very happy so far with the prompt service and great outcome.

I used Lawrie CPA this past year and it was a terrible experience. I reached out in December - before the year was even over. I even spoke to Judd on the phone and he confirmed he could do my taxes. So, I sent him all of my information and never heard from him. Then, in March 2020, I reached back out to Judd and his team and no one knew anything about me. Also, Judd promised to change my business address to a different state for me and never did. This was extremely unprofessional and I would never recommend this firm to anyone.

I am also quite dissatisfied with our time working with Lawrie. We were referred in with a raving review. When I called and mentioned the review, I was quoted a lower price. When we got there, I confirmed the price with Judd. The same day we got an invoice for twice the amount of our taxes. I called in immediately and it was fixed within two business days.Because we assumed it was an isolated incident we decided to continue with our services since the turnaround time for our taxes was instant. (Probably because we already had everything done)I called and spoke to Judd on the phone- he seemed very busy and could not accurately answer my questions (I assumed this was because he was busy) so we decided to schedule a time for a meeting for them to do ongoing work for our corporation.The appointment was set for 9:15a this morning. We arrived after driving for 30 minutes and no one was there, with a sign saying they would arrive at 10. We called the office and left a message. I personally called and left a message with Judd and I still have not to receive a call back 3.5 hours later. Seems as if they are too busy to handle anything else.We will NOT be doing anymore business with them due to all of these communication errors.Beware if you do not live down the street!EDIT: I received an email stating he was there at 9:15a this morning and he assumed we were a no show, with no call, etc. We called three times and pulled on the doors twice and Judds response was the doors sometimes stickVERY disappointing follow up email we received. Yikes!

I want to be fair, because there was good and bad. Judd is decent at what he does, though very busy. We had to remind him regarding some details. The first assistant we dealt with was excellent--had some back taxes done for us within a couple of days.She left and was replaced by what we can only describe as an idiot--missed a deadline we needed for documentation by 3 months, redid from scratch figures wed provided with documentation, etc. Judd finally fixed it personally.However, at the end I needed a business appraisal for my part time second business for divorce. As hed done the taxes for both me and my ex, I asked if he, being familiar with all aspects, could do it. It took a lengthy amount of time, along with excuses like, Its coming along, which when I hear it from my teenager means, I havent started yet.Finally, on the last day, he threw something together that appraised a retail business with no backstock (events only) at 4X its annual gross income. Then, he stated that because hed previously done my business taxes it wouldnt be valid in court.So if you need personal taxes done, he personally is quite good. His employees, when he has any, vary all over the map, and for other business matters Id suggest looking elsewhere.
