Yong’s did an incredible job with my wedding dress alterations. I was nervous about cost, as my dress is a big satin ballgown, but it was very reasonable!! Alterations were perfect and I got so many compliments on my wedding day.

Very pleased with my wedding dress alterations! I was able to schedule an appointment right away and Yong was very patient while fitting me. She showed me two different bustles options and the pros/cons of each. I had to have the bottom of the dress shortened with a long train and it turned out perfectly. The bustle and shoulder strap alterations were also spot on. I would also suggest having your dress/veil steamed with Yongs. I wouldnt trust anyone else!

I took my custom faux leather jacket there for alterations. i bought it online and the maker did not make it to me size measurements.. instead of sending it back the original seller refunded a partial amount so i could alter it. Yongs did an amazing job adding material so it would fit me comfortably i will definitely be taking more items in

This place was recommended to me by the bridal boutique where I purchased my wedding dress. At the appointment to make the alterations I felt very comfortable working with the woman assisting me. She answered all my questions and was very patient when I had concerns. She reassured me and gave her professional advice.When I tried on my dress after the alteration I couldn’t have been more happy. She gave me my dream dress. For the first time my worry about not feeling beautiful on my wedding day melted away. It fit perfectly. Yongs Alterations did an amazing job altering my wedding dress! I am an event planner downtown that specializes in weddings and I highly recommend using them. My dress came in only a month before my wedding and they were able to quickly get my alterations done in just a couple of weeks. They listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly what I had envisioned. They are reasonably priced, kind, and do phenomenal work. I really cant attest to anything about this business good or bad. I walked in, they agreed to do my alterations and asked me if it was okay if it was ready on Monday. I visited on this past Friday. She looked at someone to give her the ok on it, ( the date) as she was talking to me about Mondays pick-up date, as I searched for my card to pay or maybe pay a small down payment, I was turned away due to the wedding season she said. Idk what made her change her mind mid transaction. I knew there were other alteration shops that would be happy to have a new customer.So I thanked them and walked away . Though my zipper may have not been a high price item, I felt as though they could have told me they werent taking new customers before that whole scenario transpired. Anyway, I found the right alterer for me, just up the street and I recommend them highly..... Alexs tailor shop. Thank you anyway!

Originally, I took my wedding dress elsewhere and received alterations (with minimal alternation knowledge I have) that I thought werent well done. I took it to Yongs and WOW did they turn it around. They went above and beyond to correct the mistakes, add alternations I didnt know I needed, cleaned and steamed it too. Finally, they walked my dress out to my car for me. Amazing services, complete professionals and Im so thrilled with my dress.

Just stared and then didnt invite us into a fitting room. We asked to add a slit for the leg on my daughters prom dress and was told it would take too long when all that it would take is one hour more according to her. Then, she continued to list pricing telling me it cost too much for me, but never did I mention price... racial profiling at its best.. Would not recommend!

Altered my daughters wedding dress, excellent work, good pricing!

I was referred to Yongs by Marie Gabrielle. I took my wedding dress to Yongs and they did a terrible job. I wanted basic alternations, taking the dress in and hemming, etc. I was a bit shocked at how high the price was for these basic alterations but they were highly recommended so I went again with it. I went in on the scheduled dates to see the alternations and they hadnt even started yet. They tried to do the alterations quickly while I waited and rushed through them. They didnt take in the lining and the dress didnt lay flat and the lines werent straight. They added padding to the cups and one side was clearly sticking out. I went in to try and have them fix it 5 times and they insisted that the dress was perfect (even though I was clearly not happy with it). I finally just took my dress and brought it to another alterations place that was able to do everything I wanted at half the price. My sister also took her dress to Yongs and had an equally terrible experience. They didnt seem to understand basic alterations. We both had to take our dresses elsewhere any pay for alterations twice. I would never go to Yongs again.I am 100% positive this is the correct alterations place. I am not surprised that Yong’s said they have never had someone come in for a dress 5 times. They were very unorganized and even though they told me to come in on certain days, there was no schedule and they had not done the alterations when I came in. They did try to fix the issues several times but I was very afraid they were going to ruin my dress so I ended up going elsewhere. Unfortunately after trying to fix it so many times there is no opportunities to make this right anymore.

My daughters alterations were done nicely. However, I would suggest asking for the cost for each service needed as we were shocked, when at check out she said it would be over $400. That didnt include steaming the dress either, which was another $60. In contrast my older daughter had her wedding gown altered for around $100 and the lace actually had to be removed and re-applied on that one. The dress did look beautiful. Just be prepared.

I would highly recommend Yongs Alterations for wedding dress alterations. I needed a hem, bustle, and the straps tightened on my dress. This only took one initial appointment and then a pickup appointment. The alterations look fabulous and my dress fits perfectly! They were also very accommodating and booked me on Saturdays so my mom, who lives out of state, could come with me. Thank you Yongs Alterations!

They did a great job with the alterations on my wedding dress. It fit absolutely perfect. My dress had a high lace neckline that I had them alter to make less irritating to my skin, as prior to alternations it caused my skin to turn red around the neckline, and for my wedding, I wore it for hours with no itching, no redness at all. I would highly recommend them!

What an amazing team! I was so worried about the fitting of my gown. It was pretty tight and I couldnt sit comfortably. Not only can I now sit, but they also had to adjust the hem. They somehow brought up the entire dress in order to save the scalloped hem which I find incredible. The attention to detail and the fact that you cant see where lacework was done is astonishing. I would recommend them to anyone! They will relieve any doubt you may have about your gown!

I recommend Yongs Alterations and had a great experience here! Yongs is the preferred alterations shop for many of Indianapolis bridal boutiques, and I was provided the stores info by Brides by Young. My wedding gown needed reworked at the top (top was too big, so needed straps taken in, bust taken in and reshaped) and a hem and bustle. Once I was all pinned up with the right size in the top, I noticed my cleavage was extreme! Yong grabbed a piece of lace that matched my dress exactly to reduce the cleavage, and it blended perfectly; just looked like part of the dress! They did a fabulous job, were kind, and did quick work.

I purchased a gown off the rack that needed to be taken in 4 sizes. Somehow Yong and her team made it fit like a glove! A beautiful, elegant and comfortable glove!

The minor alteration I got done here was done quickly and very affordable, but I doubt I will come back. The woman who helped me (I think it was the owner) was pretty rude. Customer service is lacking, which is a shame since it sounds like the services are top notch.

Yongs alterations was absolutely fantastic! I was worried about having my wedding dress altered because it had a lot of bling all over it. When I went to pick it up it was perfect! They were quick and had it done when I asked for it. I expected to have to go back a few times because thats what my mother in law told me they had to do for my husbands sisters dress (she had it altered elsewhere), but I went in one time and it was perfect after that and did not need any more adjustments.

I had to get a corset put in my dress because it didn’t fit quite right as well as added straps, they did absolutely amazing! The staff was super friendly and got everything done so quickly! This was a huge stress on me and they really made this experience great.

Yong & her team are fantastic. She altered my wedding gown back in 2008 and my moms wedding gown this year as well as my matron of honor dress. The 5 bustles on my moms WG were absolutely impeccable! She makes her brides look beautiful & most of all happy!

I only needed one alteration and my wedding dress fits perfectly! (three layers with a long train) The bustle was nicely done and the seamstress even tacked together a belt while I was still in the shop. The alterations were reasonably priced, were finished quickly, and, best yet, they didnt balk at shortening my gown to tea length (Ive heard other places freak out if you want to cut off a train)! I had my wedding dress altered at Yong’s alteration recently. She was fast, courteous (even tho I was a spazing bride), and provided amazing insight on how to fix my highly detailed dress. The alteration was quick and ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! My dress has tons of lace and beading, all which made me nervous for alterations. We only needed the one alteration to get it done. She was magical. They would have helped me get into and out of my dress but my mom had come along. Just beautiful. I can’t wait to wear it in just a few weeks. I came to Yong because of their great reviews on Yelp, and I was not disappointed. Their prices are great (I ended up paying less than I originally anticipated), they worked quickly, and they were courteous and helpful. They altered my gown down 2 sizes (sample sale), with no need for any additional tweaks! I liked them so much I had my fiances suit altered here, too! I havent personally dealt with other alterations, but I can tell you my fiances suit was altered better and at a lower cost than he has had previous suits done. Overall it was a great experience! :)

Over the years I have had many alterations done by Kim at Yong Alterations. Of course for my wedding dress I would have it no other way! Kim did a wonderful job of sizing my dress to fit absolutely perfect. If there was anything that felt uncomfortable she was quick to make adjustments. I only recommend alterations from Yongs Alterations!

Brought my leather jacket that needed sleeves shortened 1 1/2”also has a zipper on the sleeve. Turned out perfect and could not tell it was shortened.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here a couple years ago and it was perfect, fast, and a great price. I am in another wedding later this year and will be bringing this dress here as well. I have also recommended them to several other brides/bridal parties and just for average alterations.

Nice people. It was very expensive and the dress fit better afterwards but still not ideally. For the amount of money I spent, I could have had a whole new dress made for me. I didn’t have time to have it reworked and they were nice enough to get it done in a week.

They didnt even take measurements when altering my dress. The alterations were not good quality and my dress left fitting me worse than when I took it in. I did not let them try to fix their mistakes as I did not have time or faith that they could. The bustle did not hold up during my wedding. They picked up the tool in my gown. They ripped the sleeve of my dress. They didnt listen to what was asked for. And the push up cup they added was so large that there was about a 2 inch gap between my chest and the dress. They were polite but definitely ruined my dress.They also ruined my moms dress. They were to hem it. They hemmed it so short that she had to pick out a shorter pair of shoes to wear and the hem was completely uneven.I would not recommend this place to anyone.We always take measurements is a lie. Not once was I measured in any way.

My mom has been taking her clothing to Yongs for years to have it altered and has always been extremely pleased with the quality of work, customer service, and cost. She was my first choice to alter my wedding dress and she along with her staff did an amazing job making sure the dress fit perfectly. Highly recommended for simple to complex alterations!

This is the only place in Indy that I take my clothes to be fitted! Its attached to the Bridal shop so their specialty is wedding dresses, however they still work on mens clothing too as I go to hem my pants or shirts! Yong is a pro and she really cares about her customers and their satisfaction! My fiance and I will definitely have our suit/wedding dress altered here!

I wanted to take time to write this review because the ladies at Yongs saved my wedding dress. When I received my dress from Posie Patch, it came from the designer flawed. The ladies worked hard to make sure I was pleased with my dress. They were extremely pleasant and work very hard. You can just tell the seamstresses there have a way with fabric! The alterations were perfect and they helped me find the best bra solution ever. In the end, it looked amazing because of the team at Yongs. Keep it up, gals!

Took a couple of jeans to be fitted and tapered and it was done really well! Took in a lot of consideration of the fit and how comfortable it would be on my thighs.The owner is super friendly and will always serve your needs

Polite, but took almost 3 weeks to alter 2 suits, had to have them re-altered. not happy due to amount I paid. It seems that the Proms and weddings were more important than us plain customers. I believe that if a business is over loaded, please turn people away. yes I left mine items there based on the reviews I read but the overall quality was not close. the hems/cuffs in both suits were a total mis-match. Im not one to return for corrections, because quality is a First Impression.

My wedding dress didnt need a lot to be altered. Just a bit off the bottom and the sleeves had to be shortened, but she did a wonderful job making sure it fit beautifully. She also built in the bustle which was great. However, I had bought the dress off the rack so it really needed a good steam and some of the fibres to be cut from the top. She assured me this would be done AND charged me for it, but when I picked up the dress and took it out of the bag, it hadnt been touched. My friends and I quickly steamed it at home, but I payed quite a bit of money for her to do this well. So needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. When you pick up the dress a few days before the wedding, after paying the woman a few hundred dollars, you would hope everything was perfect.

I bought my dress at Gretchens. They suggested I bring it next door to Yongs for alterations. Yongs pinned the dress on me, there were no measurements taken, a measuring tape was never once pulled out. In fact, there were so many pins, one stabbed my finger and made it bleed.I paid Gretchens for the dress, and they said they would deliver it next door to Yongs. Before I left, Yongs gave me a date as to when they would have it ready.Nineteen days later, I was making the 1 1/2 hr. drive to go get my dress. I called, and they couldn’t find it. I pulled over and waited for a return call. I wascalled, the dress was found at the bridal shop. It was never brought over for the alterations to be done.Yongs was quick to blame the bridal shop for not bringing it over. However, I blame both because Yongs gave me the return appointment. If they had checked their books, they would have known they hadn’t even started the dress yet. Maybe they should put appointments into a computer program/calendar and not just write them in their paper book.Yongs said they would move my dress to the front of their orders and have it done by the next day because the wedding was now two weeks away at this point.There was no time taken to do my mother-of-the- bride dress. It was rushed and so unprofessionally done. The material was wadded up and sewn up into the sleeves. There was no straight seam on it. The hem was uneven. There was so much takenup in the side seams that the material kept scratching my underarms. I paid $200 for these alterations, and had to take it elsewhere before the wedding to get all of this sloppy work fixed. I paid another $100 to get it done right. I was never apologized to that day and the owner never came to talk to me.

Yong and her team are excellent. Shes your go-to for a fast but fabulous job and her sewing is flawless. My husband has had two suits and a shirt taken in by her and I recently had a bridesmaid dress that was a size too large altered by her... Youd never know! She also does wedding dresses as a part of Bridal Superstore so you know you are in good hands.She also does all the hemming and repairs for the keystone lululemon and Carmel ivivva so she is obviously top of her league.Reasonably priced and very quick turn around. Check this place out!

My daughter took her wedding dress to be alerted, they ruined it, she had to buy another one, and they still made her pay for the alteration after she told them it wasnt right. That is poor customer service.

Excellent. I bought an Orvis leather jacket on sale but still expensive. Loved the jacket but the sleeves were a inch too long which drove me crazy. Yongs altered and it fits perfectly could not be more satisfied.

Young did a fantastic job with my wedding dress and was, as far as I can tell, very fair with her pricing! I would definitely recommend going to her - she works efficiently but precisely and clearly takes a lot of pride in her work!

This woman is an alterations GENIUS! I purchased my gown from Marie Gabriel Couture and knew that I did not need a lot of alterations, so opted to take it here instead of pay the $600 flat alterations rate at MGC. I was a little nervous at first to take it elsewhere, but after my first fitting, I realized that she is VERY good at what she does. The dress fit perfecty at my 2nd fitting, but then when I came to pick it up a month later (a week before my wedding) I had lost some weight and it was just slightly too big. I was nervous that she would have time to take it in again since we had to fly out in a few days, but no problem for Young! She re-pinned everything and it was ready again for me to pick up in less than 48 hours. The final fitting was flawless, she did everything exactly how I wanted, and this is a dress with very detailed lace all over the gown, so not the easiest! I have also had her alter 2 bridesmaid dresses, both of which were also absolutely perfect. I have recommended her to everyone I know and I will never use another tailor as long as I live in the Indianapolis area. She is the best of the best. A testament to her talents, she is extremely busy, so be sure to make an appointment for bridal gowns, and you should expect to wait a few minutes for any other fitting for which she does not take appointments. Plan accordingly, be patient, she is worth the wait!!

My daughters wedding dress that she bought next door to Yongs was transformed into exactly what she was looking for! It went from a beautiful strapless gown to a gorgeous long sleeve wedding dress with an elegant keyhole back that she always dreamed of ...here are before and after pictures!

I loved the way my dress looked and felt after waiting anxiously for it to be ready! I was trying it on a month before my wedding when the owner touched my stomach and asked when I was due...I am NOT pregnant and had in fact lost 12 lbs for the wedding...I PROMISE you I dont have a belly (like at all) I was horrified. I played it off and when it came to leaving or taking my dress with me...I took it with me. Later that evening the owner called me apologizing and everything and I was ready to be the bigger person and let it go until she said that I needed to come back in and get it altered (again!) because she left extra space in the back because she didnt know how big I was gonna be. I was once again amazed at this statement! She then offered some free services and such IF I took down the bad yelp review that my bridesmaid had made because she was so upset in my place.SAD story aside: her pricing was fair and the work was done well...but after striving to look perfect for my wedding I definitely felt that I was fat and looked so in my wedding dress, which is NEVER a good feeling for any bride.
