My mechanic recommended Ralphs to replace the catalytic converter that he wasnt able to do. I dropped my car off at 8am and they called me at 8:30 to tell me it was the cat resonator only that needed replaced. What I thought was going to cost up to 1000 cost 150. Car was done at 9am. Hands down the best experience Ive ever had at a repair shop and theyve gained a new loyal customer. Thanks guys! Car is running great.

Ive been coming to this Ralphs for years. Little known fact, they dont just do mufflers and brakes at this location. Mike, their mechanic is honest and does great work. Hes saved my partner and I some expensive repairs by correctly diagnosing and remedying things we were doing wrong that led to vehicle breakdowns. Great Service And Reasonable Price

The wait was a lil long BUT not too long considered I didnt have an appointment and there was atleast 5 cars ahead of me. They assessed the problem of my car quickly once they did get it in. I got something under my car fixed to stop the loud noise and the man fixed it in about 5mins LITERALLY. The price was also fairly reasonable for the parts, labor, and taxes was $158. Ill definitely be back with ANOTHER vehicle to be serviced.

The service advisor was happy to spend time on the phone hearing in detail about my problem then he offerred a fair price for a diagnosis and affordable same day repair.

Honestly not a fan of their work...I go through a lot of cars buy sale trade and Ive never had them do any work for me until a few years ago...I had the whole exhaust replaced on a car and not even 3 years later the muffler fell off!!! Not a solid weld job and thats what they are supposed to specialize in....i wouldnt have been half as mad if I didnt have to pay for it to be repaired, but warranty was not discussed at time of purchase and only after a defect happened they told me that I could buy into an extended warranty but one wasnt offered. maybe I was a rare case Id like to hope so but I stand behind my work and would repair my mistakes for free and have the honesty to admit it was my fault.

I came here after being told at carx that I needed an $880 repair so glad I waited and came here they charged me $141 and had me in and out in 45 minutes and I was told at Carx it would be a 4 hour job lol I will never go back to Carx again the guys here are great very professional and not there to screw you over I highly recommend them I will most definitely keep them in mind for my other auto needs that they do. They 2 different quotes neither on paper so of course had to pay the higher of both. Work was done well and explained things when we questioned the what, hows and whys.

My wifes car had the catalytic converter stolen from it. I called Ralphs early in the morning and they gave me a quote and asked me to bring the car over. I arrived at 8:00 AM and left for work. I got a call before 10:00 AM saying that the work was done and it was done for under what they quoted. Have had no issues with the repair and the folks there were very helpful!

We drove here to take pictures with Mr Bendo. Im not sure if the muffler shop is open any more, but Longs is down the street and theyre open! 😋

My experience at Ralphs Muffler was indubitably unrivalled. I was at first sceptical about their first come, first serve policy until I heard them time and again Associates repeatedly inform every customer (while I was waiting for my repairs to be done) that Ralphs Muffler on 16th Street in Indianapolis operated strictly and judiciously under a first come, first serve policy; and may I add, mantra! Mike was the Technician who assisted in removing two broken lug nuts off my Jaguar VDP. I realized that there were some unforeseen issues with my vehicle. The studs I brought were the wrong ones, so Mike ordered some studs from two different parts suppliers. Unfortunately, these too did not fit. Without delving into the munitae of all else, I paid for the charges/cost quoted over the phone without any surcharges for the additional work done on my vehicle (Mike removed a stud from another wheel) to ensure that I had four studs and lug nuts on two wheels instead of having one wheel with just three studs and lug nuts. He advised me to order studs from the dealership to be installed at Ralphs. I recommend Ralphs Muffler on 16th Street in Indianapolis to everyone who would like good automotive service!

Horrible experience this time. I have gone to Ralphs a lot and never had a problem at this particular time I went and they told me what I needed thats it over there for 5 hours only to be told that some of the parts they need it they couldnt get from the auto stores. I had to order them from the dealership they gave me a price of $461 parts and everything included but because they claimed they couldnt get these partsI got them from the auto parts store then I was charge $100 to put them on now mind you $461 was for everything parts and labor now so Im going to have to pay the $461 and $34extra dollars for the parts and labor so Im paying $491.00 for a $461 service because they claim they couldnt find the part but I got the parts from auto advance and OReillys so is that just a way of getting an extra $100 l asked since you couldnt find the parts and I found them wouldnt that $34 be taken out of $100 because my initial charge was for $461 and it wasnt my fault that you couldnt find the parts he told me no Im still going to have to charge youto put the parts on a $100. So now my $461 estimate went to $495 I dont think that was fair not my fault they couldnt find the parts. Dont know where they get their parts from, but I had no problem finding them

Not a very good first experience with this place. I was told it was a first come first serve basis for service at this location, so I dropped my car off around 9:30 this morning (the soonest I could get there) to have the muffler looked at. The guy told me it would be a couple hours or possibly about an hour. Then walked back into the shop. Didn’t bother to ask me if I planned on waiting or not. I couldn’t wait there as I had to work, so I had to poke my head in the garage and ask if I should leave my keys. He came into the lobby and took my keys, name, and phone number and said again to give them a couple of hours. I called in about 2.5 hours later and they said they hadn’t even looked at it, but that it was next in line and they would call me when they knew the issue. 3 more hours go by, I call again, they tell me they still haven’t looked at it, to which I reiterated that they had told me it would only be a couple of hours until my car would be ready. He told me that it had only been a couple of hours. I said it had been five hours since I dropped off my car. He said that’s not possible. I told him I dropped my car off at 9:30am and it was now 2:30. I asked him if he thought they would get to it today and he said we should be able to and that they would call me when they were looking at it (even though he said my car was next in line 3 hours prior). It’s now been almost another hour and no call. Very disappointed in this service.

Been there twice so far once for an exhaust replacement which only took about 20-30min and today just to get my brakes bled which took 15-20min. Nice place staffs cool and from what I’ve seen they don’t over charge you. It is first come first serve so I recommend getting there early! 5 stars!

I got my front and rear brake pads replaced and was very impressed with the level of care taken on my car. I was told to get there before they open because it is first come-first serve and it fills up fast. I went on a Saturday and if I had not gotten there early I wouldnt have gotten my car finished that day. So try to get there as early as possible! They work very quickly though and very efficiently. I would highly recommend Ralphs. The only downfall is not being able to make an appointment.

Under NO circumstances would I ever suggest to someone that they should have ANY work done here. In one word NEGLIGENT. As other people have stated they could have been killed due to oversights and things not done properly on a vehicle. I dont imagine any of these men have much integrity...I mean children ride in cars. Which shouldnt matter, putting someones life at risk whether intentionally done by performing mediocre repairs or unintentionally because they lack proper knowledge/skills is rather irrelevant. Not only did I have my catalytic converter, exhaust, and muffler replaced but had to go back not even a year later for them to replace it. Then about 1.5 years later when I went to the same mechanic my family has gone to for 15 years and is backed by the BBB they stated that those repairs were NOT made and only the muffler was replaced. I took it it get a second, and even a third opinion, and all mechanics unanimously agreed I was bait it switched..which is ironic because they have signs all throughout the place alerting you that many other places do this. Around the same time I had a my spare tire put on and these fools didnt tighten the lug nuts properly. I drive a truck, and was on the highway when 4/5 wheel studs broke.LUCKILY the moment I heard a noise I pulled over. had I not my truck would have certainly flipped. When speaking to Kevin the owner he was rude and hung up so certain they do quality work. If that is so, then WHY are there NUMEROUS reviews stating THE EXACT issue I experienced? not replacing things they said they did, negligent work, oversights, etc.

This is the perfect exanple of an automotive place that actually takes pride in its work...values the customer... and goes out of the way to ensure customer loyalty and a quality job well done ! ❤

First come first serve? Not. I waited from 11 am to almost 2 pm for someone get to my vehicle. Then gave me attitude when i spoke up about skipping me. I came for my catalytic converter and flex pipe. They rushed it on the lift then rushed it off. Randy was VERY RUDE and clearly has a problem with woman.

Friendly, fast, great price. Went in on a Wednesday morning around 08:30 and was out by 09:30 with a brand new muffler. Gave me many options up front, all of which were well priced compared to other places. The waiting area itself is a seventies throwback, but what do you really expect. You arent paying for a spa day.

Only for the desperate.

They dont take reservations meaning you have to sit for hours for a five minute weld job. Add that to the 15 minutes you will wait to get in line for service. It is more cost effective to buy a welder and do it yourself. Seriously, a cheap one costs less than $100 and it requires the skills of a child.

They do everything very fast and they are really honest. They check my strokes for free and I like their oil change service.The good point is that when they are not expert in some special part of car, they are not trying their chance, but say this is not our area and tell you somewhere better to fix that part.And thats why I love it.

Fast great and fair

My wife is visiting a friend in Indy, got into town last night, engine started knocking and oil light came on. She had just had an oil change at Valvoline in Lexington before leaving. I called Ralphs next to her hotel, and was lucky enough to get Mike-who was fantastic. Since she was at the hospital all day visiting her friend, he went next door to check her oil, discovered a faulty oil filter, drove the car back to Ralphs for a new filter/oil change, and drove it back to her hotel. Absolutely the best! Really helped us out in a big way, and cant recommend him and Ralphs highly enough! Thanks Mike!

I’d say I got a really good deal! For the whole exhaust pipe, resonator, and back muffler, I paid $300 and that’s including labor! Wait-time wasn’t too bad - I got there when they got a hand full of people in front of me. I waited prolly almost an hour till it was my turn.Everyone there was kind and welcoming. The mechanic was open to answering my questions. He didn’t take advantage of me being a newbie and a girl. He actually brought the price down for me (before it was gonna be 330$). What a sweet heart! I gave 4 stars cuz I didn’t like the flirty signals I was getting in the beginning. I wasn’t responding to them. After that we were cool.Btw y’all -FYI- my resonator (1 year) and muffler(lifetime) has a warranty, and becuz i got the parts at this location, I would have to go back to that same shop if something goes wrong with the parts; I’d just have to pay labor which mechanic said it would be ~$40. If I went to another Ralph’s muffler shop, they couldn’t honor the warranty.

They broke my guard on my car and refused to compensate me.They didnt fix my muffler it still makes a loud noise.

I would give a - and beyond points! Because this company on 1250 W. 16th Street is horrible! Me and my husband took our car in there to get a break job done. They was supposed to fix all of the breaks with new rotors. Not even a week out of the shop our breaks were squeaking and had a rubbing sound. I called them over the phone to let them know, and they told me that it was because they were new and needed time to drive around. After a month passed, my husband took it back in there and they told him that they couldn’t see him that day and to come back on Monday. When a week passed, they charged my husband a fee to repair them and a worker told him that someone put the wrong rotors on and now one of the calibers is messed up. My husband told them that it was their fault because we could have been hurt or “killed” driving around with the wrong parts on our car. They told him that he will have to pay to get it fixed and our car hasn’t been driving right ever since. I told my husband that I’m thinking about suing the company!

They were quick and gave me an excellent price. Everywhere else quoted me $370 for brake line work and Ralphs did it for $153. They gave me a run down of other repairs I need but didnt push it and had me out of there in time to miss less than a half day of work!

I bring my fleet vehicles here to get the simple exhaust system stuff done.Service is good and the guys get you in as soon as possible.Only bad thing is, you dont make appointments. Its first come first serve!
