I just experienced the worst customer service and business service. They failed to pick up my trash for the second time. I’ve been with them for over 5 years. They said that they sent a email regarding payment which I never received or paper bill. My card experience fraud and I received a new one. So, I was unaware that payments wasn’t coming out. I notice trash did not get picked up. So, I called. They lady was very rude and disrespectful, talked over me and yelled. She advised that 3 payments wasn’t received. I informed her that I wasn’t aware or received email or mail. Asked to pay the $66 dollar balance and if they could come back to pick it up. She advised will be a $20 trip fee when I just paid for services. I declined and will be getting a new trash company. I will also let my neighbors know of this poor service and have them switch services too. It’s just $21 a month and to know that a company has no care of there customers is more than enough for me, switch and let others know of this company. I also experienced having to load my truck up and take my trash to them because they fail to inform me and my neighbors that they moved pick up time to 6am. Advised that it’s was on there website. Now, who is going to check website, a notice should’ve been sent. Again, poor services. Again, why would I pay extra $20 for a pick up, to come back. When, I pay $21 a month for a pick up each Monday. That doesn’t make sense at all.

Teds! I got my new cans on time and trash has been picked up promptly with no problems. I’ve seen the crew that runs our route and they seem friendly and fun and like they make a good team. After so many many problems with our last trash company, I am so glad we finally made the switch. Teds has been wonderful! I had another trash company that just kept raising their prices, and doing less services. I called Teds to set up weekly trash service and recycling, and had the containers dropped off the following day (they said it may be a couple of weeks, so quick!) I also ordered a dumpster to throw out some old furniture, carpet, etc. Called and got the 20 yard dumpster delivered the next day, the worker delivering was very professional, and personable!The office staff (who Ive spoken to a few times) are very very helpful!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I don’t even use this trash service n i will never be using this trash service. i went to take my dog outside simply in some shorts and a long sleeve t shirt and one of the guys on the truck yelled off how i needed to be more dressed n some other things. Definitely was a bad start to my day being talked to like that by someone i don’t know and will never know.

Lies, is the BEST trash company every.... So i forgot to take my trssh to.the curb last night.By the time i remembered I was already clocked in for work. I have used Teds Trash Service for trash and recycling services for the past two years. I pay for the year in advance (paying this way you paid for 11 months and received 1 month free... I was informed today they are no longer offering that payment option). I guess half way through this last year they decided to up the cost of trash and recycling service and, even though I paid for the year up front they decided to charge me for the extra. Its a small bill but its not very professional to have someone pay for a yearly service and then send them a bill for extra charges. I was informed today by the rude customer service woman that Im not really paying in advance; the money just sits in holding and is removed month by month. Im quite sure they didnt touch that money; that it wasnt sitting in one of their accounts drawing some kind of interest or something. Unprofessional and, in my opinion, unethical.

For the past 8 or 9 years, we have used Teds Trash for our weekly household trash service. They are always prompt. Even once sent someone back to get our trash that was missed due to my own late payment.Recently, we got a large dumpster from them to help clean out my house and garage. They had the most reasonable rates I could locate. And that was before getting an existing customer discount. They dropped it off and picked it up without incident. The driver who dropped it off was friendly and placed it exactly where I needed it.

I love Teds! I use them for my regular weekly pickup and I use them for dumpster clean out projects. Their prices are fair and their staff is also so friendly.

I was driving to a friends today. Pulled onto their street (only 2 ways in). A Teds Trash truck and another service truck were blocking the road. They ignored anyone was present, so I backed up and turned around to go the other way in. I got around to the other side of their home, and here comes the Teds truck. They stop and refuse to back up. Again, one way in and out both directions. So, I back up AGAIN. Teds pulls up to the street Im on and decides to turn so close to my car to nearly clip my front end. I kept backing up asking them to stop, but he literally looked my in the eye and kept on driving. The guy on the back was waving his arms and apologizing. He knew his driver was in the wrong. If this is how they treat people, they shouldnt be in the service industry.

I have had Ted’s Trash Service for over 10 years now. I see many complaints about other trash services, but Ted’s has never once missed picking up my trash. The cost is very reasonable and only had one minimal increase during this time. I have also used their roll off trash service several times. Because I am a customer, I received $25.00 off the cost of the dumpster. Ted’s is top notch.

I have had nothing but problems with this place. Most recently it seems as tho my trash day has changed and without any notification. But prior to this, after covid hit, they said they would only puck up 3 trash cans with lids. Nothing in bags outside of cans or no boxed trash... I had my trash can out with trash and coons had gotten into it. There was just a couple of items that got draped over the sude and a few things on the ground.. I never expected then to pick up what the coons threw on the ground but they wouldnt even take the cans cause trash was hanging over it.. Another time or two they dropped some trash on the ground and just left the mess. When I called to complain the secretary was very sorry and rude. She is every time I have to call up there to the point I hate having to call up there. If i jad an alternative service I would deff use them but it seems Teds has a monopoly going in my part of the woods.. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone

Wow just wow. All I can say is you will have to baby them. They don’t hire very smart people. Make sure you always check up with them, remind them how to do their job on the monthly basis and everything should be fine.

The truck drivers intentionally block cars from going by so if u get behind them on a side street u have to wait for them to do every single stop. Hope youre not running late!

I decided to switch to Teds trash service after my long time trash service let me down repeatedly. I called Teds and the people in the office were absolutely amazing. They were kind, helpful and actually knew what they were talking about. It only took a few minutes to get signed up, and its been nothing but exceptional service. Thank you to Teds. The best decision I ever made was to switch to Teds they are by far the cheapest in price and they had my trash can out to me the next day,I had AAA in the past and they were the worst they had horrible customer service unlike this place they have amazing customer service the lady in the office Lisa is the nicest when I call to make my payment over the phone. Their customer service is horrible. They are always so rude. It does not matter what your concerns are they do not care. I forgot to put my trach out, so I called up there to ask if I COULD PAY EXTRA to have someone come back and pick up my trash, they said NO we do not do that only under certain circumstances. I can not believe they do not work with you at all. And I can not believe how rude they are. The way they talk to people is very unprofessional. Then do not ask to talk to a supervisor, because you will not get one. Do not use this company. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...

We called them yesterday to set up our trash pick up (our first time ever doing so as we are from Florida and don’t have to do that) but they were super polite and helpful. We were told that the can would be dropped off in 7-10 business days but we can place trash out on our normal pick up day of Tuesday. we wake up this morning and the can was here! Super thrilled about the service we were given. Will continue to use them our 2 year lease we just signed❤️

I have been using Teds for 12 years they told me I get my container and 6 bags now it is my container and 3 bags make up your mind very unfair and argumentative no reason for it every week I dont know what kind of mood the driver will be in too much stress time to get a new trash company I wanted Lies trash but seems Teds has run them out of Independence how fair is that. Iwould recommend this company to anybody in the Kansas City metropolitan area for service that they can provide you from commercial like roll off work to residential I dont know if they go on the Kansas side on residential but Ill tell you this if you have a problem that something wasnt picked up they will go out of their power to come help you out and thatll be commendable. Ive used Teds Trash Service for years and years. Recently I needed to clean out my garage of a bunch of junk, and needed extra waste pick up. They went above and beyond to help me get the job done. I really do appreciate the way they treat me like im a valued customer, having been with them for 20 years. The women in the office know me by name when I call. Its pretty cool. My own friends cant even tell who I am when I call them on the phone. lol

Were new customers, but I really like Teds so far! I can nearly set my watch by them (though sometimes they come early; no complaints there!!) Theyre very quick. I also really like their customer service team. Theyre very friendly and helpful. As far as price is concerned, I think Teds offers the best price! And I love that they have their own recycling center. Thats where I always go to do our recycling. I dont mind doing it myself and am very thankful they have this free recycling center.

Family had been with them for 50 yrs and was paid up till Dec. we inherited the house and my father in law still lives here. They left one of our cans several times and said it had too many bags and loose items not in bags lol 2 Starbucks cup. This was not the first time either. I was done and changed over to AAA. You guys lost a loyal client and your lil receptionist could of cared less. As business owner myself I would of bent over backwards for clients like us who pay months I. advance and have used you for 50 years.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!FIRST PROBLEM:I choose to enroll in automated withdraw. They did not tell me I would get billed a whole month in advance charging me another 101.00 a month n half later.Second problem: When I called to see when I was paid through, the lady was so incredibly rude and laughed at me for being upset about not being told about the way they bill.Third problem: They only do big bulk trash once a month and charge you pre item. For example they charged me 35.00 for a queen size mattress it would have been more for a box spring.What made me the most upset was how rude they are. Wasnt my first experience with such rude customer service.They charged me so much im paid theough the end of the year. SmhOh and there where weeks where they did not pick up my trash either.

This would be a 1 star review if they werent the best priced place in town. My garbage is regularly strewn about the roadside when I pick it up. They seem to have rules about emptying my trash can that only apply sometimes. I miss my county trash service at my old residence for sure. Considering taking my business elsewhere to see if they are more willing to consistently pick my garbage up without dumping it on my driveway.

Teds trash is very clean, inside and out. They have recycling bins on-site. The ladies in the office are very polite and friendly. Overall a great company.

Im surprised I never reviewed Teds Trash. I was a loyal customer for years. I dont ever recall a time I had issues with them. I live in Lees Summit now and they dont service the area I am in. I am hoping they will. I have yet to find a trash service like Teds when it comes to great service. Please expand to Lees Summit! I am not the only one who will switch to you guys and have always recommended you to our new tenants (I work in property management). Keep up the good work!

We absolutely love Teds. I can set my clock by the truck. Same time EVERY week. Very courteous, safe drivers. Left my house one day and encountered our truck. Although a car was parked on my side of the road and the Teds truck had the right of way, the driver gave me a wave and a friendly smile, urging me to pass first. I called Teds and reported the friendly driver! Teds is the best. Were permanent customers.

Came on my property and stole their trash receptacle back ! Like really no better way to communicate like door bell or leave a note. Smh Disappointing !

I believe that it is a rip off to be the only trash company that has residents to pay for trash service when deffenbaugh and more are free for trash and recycling, so ask yourselves when was it ever ok for certain community’s to pay for trash cans as well as trash services recycling included.

Said they would not pick up trash because of a pizza box on top. Said it needed to be bagged. WOW. When I called they said they will not pick up if loose trash. This is crazy !

The employees have always been so fantastic. When I was pregnant they would walk my trash back up the driveway for me. Also the few times I’ve forgotten to put the trash out they grabbed it for me. Excellent customer service thank you!

I live in Independence, MO in the Rams Gate subdivision. My trash is picked up on Wednesdays, I witnessed something this morning from the men collecting our trash. My neighbor across the street forgot to put their trash out this morning, the worker acknowledged this fact and walk up his driveway to bring the rolling container down to the truck in order to dispose of the contents into the truck. This is small thing, something that he is most likely not required to do. I consider this an amazing example of GREAT customer service. Im glad to know that Im spending my money on a locally owned business who hires great people, who value their customers. Thank You Teds Trash Service!

I have had Teds trash service for six years and Ive always been happy. However after having the same card for 6 years when changing addresses I requested a new cart was told that wasnt possible twice in two different phone calls. I dont feel like thats an unreasonable request after being a loyal customer for 6 years. Unfortunately Im going to have to look for new service customer service is very important to me.***updated... Contacted today by Teds today, theyre bringing me a new cart and handled my complaint thoroughly and professionally, glad to say Ive started with Teds at my new house!!

Good place I work there

I paid for a 40 yard dumpster upfront and complied with all instructions. I called 3 days before the deadline to have them pick it up. I filled only to the limit line as instructed and made sure of it’s compliance before they came to pick it up. I was charged $98 without any explanation from Teds. I figured I’d wait a few business days to hear from them in why they would charge my card unauthorized. I have yet to hear from them. I will give it one more day before I file a dispute with my CC company. Since when is it OK to charge a CC without authorization or any explanation?

I just take all my recyclables there and I usually always have a good experience there except when the bins are full.

They have the best prices in town, I swear and delivered on time closer towards the last hour during the arrival time but overall great great experience I wish my dumpster was taller because the cats are jumping in it and we didn’t want it to be convenient for peopleOr street cats to get to it. I guess I know to request a taller one next time especially if I am not on a time limit. Once again the prices are beyond unbeatable for a 20 yard no one in town will offer you the price we paid for a 20 yard dumpster rental I will guarantee that and I do not know anyone here to help them. In the past my dealings with Teds was positive. My recycling was rejected today. I had to call to clarify why it was rejected. My conversation with staff was unsatisfactory. I try extremely hard to recycle. I got policy, excuses, but no apology for the inconvenience. I consider that impolite and poor customer relations. Poor communication with consumers about recycling.

No question, this is the way to run a trash collection company. My neighbors who have another company should be calling you soon. Keep up the great work!

This is one of the best companies in the metro. Not only are they family owned and operated, they have the best staff around. Always helpful when I call and friendly, helping faces around to help at their office. The fact that they still continue to do recycling is a huge plus to this local business. Teds is the best! the only place you can truly trust to pick up and do right! I never hear bad things about teds and we have been using them for around 3 years now

So many ignorant complaints about extra items not being picked up and that Teds should Just bill me for the extra. Not sure why the concept needs explained, but Teds uses normal everyday trash trucks. They do not possess alien technology thats hidden inside turning the collection trucks into black holes with an unlimited capacity. Once the truck is full, it has to be emptied. If the truck fills up before finishing the route, the crew has to go empty the truck and then continue the route, adding roughly 2 hours to their day.The routes are carefully planned to ensure that the crew will be able to finish their day without an extra trip to the landfill (transfer station) to empty the truck. Theres a limited amount of extra space place planned into the routes as well, so that if people need extra picked up, theyre able to fit it.Youre all just trying to see if you can get the extra stuff picked up for free and then crying when you arent as slick as you think you are. If you have extra stuff to pickup, CALL AND LET THEM KNOW. The sooner you call, the more likely youll be able to get the stuff picked up. Extra pickups get added to the route sheet accordingly... So if the drivers route sheet shows theyll be getting enough extra stuff to put them near being over capacity, guess what... Your extra bags wont be getting picked up.I love Teds and have nothing but great things to say about them. Big improvement over other service providers Ive had in the area.Im not an employee of Teds. I actually used to work for one of their competing companies several years ago.

I have ongoing projects at my house, and seem to have a dumpster there about 3x a year. One of my friends told me about Teds and their 2-week rental process, and that seemed like a better deal than the 1-week with the other people I rented with. There are some days where I just cant get to certain things, so having that extra week without having to pay another $140 is magnificent! - Besides that, very friendly folks over the phone, the drop off and pick-up process was smooth, and they have the most flexibility when it comes to what you can throw away, namely being able to add tree limbs if you needed to. Sorry folks, but nobody will take those tires, car batteries, oil, and more. You still have to dispose of those things the other way. :P - You really wont get a better deal than Teds. Thanks!

I do not recommend this trash service. When I started with them in 2015, they were terrific. After 4 years with this company, I am done with them. The drivers often throw their trash can in your front ditch, when they pick it up. The smallest amount of drywall, they charge you extra for. If it fits in the container, and its not hazardous, you shouldnt be charged extra for it. When your trash isnt picked up, I shouldnt be getting charged for it.

I have been very pleased with Teds after I dumped WCA after being bought out by Fynns Disposal. They are here bright and early in the morning. They are a family owned business that I like. and there website shows when your picks and the time which is unseen in other Disposal companies.

We rented a dumpster from Teds last week. I am very pleased with the service we received from them. They were cordial and pleasant on the phone, very professional and helpful. Our dumpster rental was residential and for a basement cleanup that needed to be done after 7 years in the same house.The dumpster needed to sit in a very difficult area/driveway and the driver was able to get it right in there, no problems. The dumpster was delivered right on time and was ample room for what we needed. The prices are competitive and it was a no-fuss deal.Thanks Ted. Good service, good people they always pick up my trash on Monday. just 22 bucks a month. Just remember it’s mail in money order or pay online. And holidays are the day after they pick up.

Ive been using this service for close to a year now and have not been satisfied the entire time. Ive had to make numerous calls to let them know that my receptacle is at capacity and hasnt been emptied for weeks and I see the trucks drive right on past my home daily only to pass on by. I live alone so theres no possible way that Im using disposing more then is allotted for. I know my bill is currant as it is included in my lease and rent. Unfortunately its or I would most definitely not be a customer! I truly hope they enjoy the fragrance of month old garbage! I know I dont nor to I enjoy having to repeatedly complain about this so please stop ignoring my receptacle when you pass by daily.

I have been with Teds for a year. When we purchased our home in Independence, I had no clue what trash company we were going to use. I called two companies got voicemails. Well I said lets try teds since our neighbor use them. They have been here since the homes were built. The first two weeks our trash was missed. I understood, we were new to the route. I called into the office, the customer service was great. I got home from work my trash had been picked up. I also got a credit for the two weeks that was missed. Great service!

They let me put out extra bags, and a few odd items and the sanitation men are generally friendly. Unless some dirtbag parks in the road making it nearly impossible for them to get through the culdesac. Anywho, the lady who I talked to after being on hold for like 3 life times, was really polite and nice. I just wish they had more help so that they could answer the phone or call you back in a reasonable amount of time. :)
