At the end of May we had a trip planned and needed to get a hitch installed on our 2017 Honda Pilot so we called this U-Haul and spoke to Holly and then Chris (Kris). Unfortunately due to the pandemic they did not have the hitch for our vehicle and wouldnt be able to get one in for a few months. However, Kris told me that if we were able to find a hitch on our own, he would make sure they got it installed for us before we were planning to leave (2 days later).Luckily, I was able to track one down and true to his word, Chris (Kris) made us an appointment for the next morning. When I asked if I could drop it off before they opened he said yes and came in early just to make sure our hitch got installed before we had to leave town! Talk about amazing customer service!So far we have taken multiple trips using the hitch they installed with zero issues. It works perfectly! Thank you to Chris (Kris) and Holly for providing such excellent service!
Let me start with I NEVER leave reviews, but this time I needed to. We rented a truck on August 13th. When we got the truck it was about 3/4 full and when we gave it back it was at half. We were told when we brought the truck back that it needed to be at full even though it wasn’t at full when we got it. We filled it up, that part is bad on us. However, we only drove about 60 miles, so we wouldn’t need to put a half of tank of gas in the truck. We called them and sorted it all out. They said they would refund us $35. However, I just looked at my bank account and realized they never gave us that money back. I would go anywhere but here.
Decently priced. Service is quick. Be sure to take a picture of your dashboard before renting a truck or van, or you may be overcharged on gas.
They tried to change our appointment to be an hour before we had scheduled it. They were unclear and the confirmation text still said our original appointment. Day off they called saying we missed our appointment. Took us forever to get a hold of them. They had left for the day even though it was morning and made us reschedule to get our hitch on. We had already prepaid for the hitch and they didn’t offer any compensation for the inconvenience and lack of clarity on their part. So disappointed.

I had a messed up trailer hookup, and a half hour before close, I went to these guys and they were willing to put a new hookup on. They were very nice and even refused a tip for all the trouble.As I was waiting, I noticed that they stayed open extra late while waiting for another customer to get there that was late as well.Great people and I would go here again. They care about the customer.
The management here is solid. They worked with us several times to make sure everything was right. Friendly and professional.

Brandi and Edgar at this Northgate Mile location went WAY beyond normal customer service. The 26 truck we had reserved was in an accident and the other Uhaul location in IF wouldnt get the replacement for several hours. We were in a time crunch as movers waiting to load. Edgar volunteered to drive to Rexburg to pick up the only unreserved truck available. Meanwhile, Brandi was on phone to dispatch, and managed to switch a 26 they had for one returning later. They solved the problem and managed to have us out within 35 minutes! Great team work by the two! I cant recommend them and Northgate Uhaul high enough!
I just got off of the phone with Chris at U-haul. He was so helpful!! I appreciate how professional and polite he was, he is an amazing employee! I am ready to move!!

I scheduled them to install a hitch on my car for a bike rack and they were very friendly and professional. The install was great too, no issues. I originally bought some extra items with the install I needed and they helped me out and refunded me those items. They were also pretty slammed so it would have taken a while to wait so they reimbursed me for my uber ride home while I waited there instead. Great, friendly service, highly recommend!

Reserved a trailer a month ago to pickup Sunday. No trailer for us on Sunday. Said come back Monday. Monday is here and we have been told the only way to get a trailer is to go an hour out of our way to pick it up in a different city. I do NOT recommend this store to anyone.

Do NOT have a hitch installed here if you need wiring to go along with it! I drove over from Jackson to have hitch installed because it was going to be a lot cheaper. Turns out you get what you pay for. They ordered me the wrong part, but luckily happened to have the correct one on hand. When I went to pick up my rental trailer a few weeks later, we noticed that the brake lights and turn signals on the trailer didnt work. I elected not to drive all the way back to Idaho Falls, and took my car to a trustworthy mechanic in Jackson (unassociated with UHaul). Once he started working, he said it was one of the crappiest wiring jobs hed ever seen. Additionally, the converter box was completely shorted out and I had to buy a whole new part (this was the first time Id used it, so it wasnt broken due to normal wear and tear). I had to pay $250 to have their mess cleaned up! The whole process also ended up taking hours out of my day while I was trying to pack and get ready to move. I will NEVER take my car to this shop again.
Employees of this store are confused as to what their rental process is. Some how 3 employees had three different ideas and all of them treated me poorly because I was not doing things in the order they wanted.
DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE! From the very beginning i had issues with this place. Their phones are always forwarded to customer service so you can never get a hold of them. And if you do they will just hang up on you after you ask a question. The only way i was able to get anything accomplished was by having myself of somebody physically there because they cant ignore you if your in their face.
These guys are great helped me when i moved from Pocatello in 1996 and have been my place to go for any moving. Have sent my frie ds here.

I do NOT recommend using this place for storage. My wife and I tried to get a storage unit for a few months and the employees were incompetent, it took probably 30 minutes to issue us a unit. Even the manager was helping us and didnt know what he was doing. They were having technical issues and locked us in the room with the units and were too busy to open the doors or notice us through the windows in the store.We had to pay a lot more than they what was listed on the website or what they told us over the phone. Anywhere else would be a better fit for storage. I will never use this service at the Idaho Falls location again.
Hitch installation and wiring is lacking. I purchased my hitch, had it installed, and wired through this store. The wiring was sloppy and it failed after two years. I also later found that they sheared off two bolts while installing my hitch and didnt tell me, but repaired it by punching holes in my vehicle. I give them two stars because the rental program is decent, but their quality and the personalized customer service is unacceptable. I do not recommend their installation services.
Terrible service, charges take forever to fall off, rude managers to. I am not one to normally take the time to post a review unless it’s a positive one, however my experience with this particular location was horrible to say the least. I rented not one but two trucks, I got there to pick up the rental right at close and as the employees where leaving I asked the employees to help me Bc I had been having trouble with the truck share and they didn’t help me! It was Terrible didn’t even get my truck until 2:00am!

Moving mother in law to idaho falls. Reserved a big unit onvthe outside we could drive right up to. Uhaul called and verified twice throughout the week and i called friday to verify we were good. Got there friday night to see the unit and everything looked good. Went to do paper work and they said it wasnt available even though i have a copy of my reservation. They offered to split the cost of a moving company to unload my 20+foot uhaul upstairs instead. Obviously gonna cost me more money and what happens when i need to pull everything out of storage? Caused a lot of stress that wasnt needed and we ended up going somewhere else. Not really sure why they wasted my time.
They want to charge you $10 extra to have 24 hour access to your storage unit. They raise your monthly rent every year. We had a very hard to access second floor unit in the middle of the building. Therefore, moving in and out is so laborious and difficult. They should have placed a ramp to roll the cart in conjunction with the stairs to get up there. The staff dont look very happy working there.
Went in to grab boxes and other packing material. They had all the right supplies and the pricing was okay. If you are in a hurry and need the right stuff, then this is the place to stop.
I have never been so disappointing with a service in my life. The customer service is de-humanizing and the lack of accountability and communication is astonishing for an international business. Originally the problem was just that the promised - guaranteed delivery date was not met. Then the issue tripled in size due to the fact that U-Haul had in fact not ever shipped my box and as of this comment the box is still in Idaho and is expected to be at least 15 days later than the delivery date. What has Uhaul done to make up for this? Refunded maybe 15% of the original $4500 paid, failed to give us a delivery date for our stuff and not called us back (after repeated attempts). Truly a disaster of an experience and I cant tell you enough - dont use a U-Box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely worthless. Stood in the office for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help us. Then the guy working in the garage had no clue how to help. He tried to call someone on his phone and got no answer. Dont waste your time here.

The initial three times we had to visit this location, (to reserve a truck, pick up the truck, and pick up the car hauler) we spent over 10 minutes waiting for someone to come service us in the shop, the first time it was over 30 minutes. My husband ended up calling the after hours number on the storage facility and was instructed, Someone should be there, walk around and yell until you find someone.They have a mechanic named Rogan who helped us the first time and he was awesome!! Totally attentive, answered all our questions the best he could, and was honest when we asked his opinion on things like gas mileage and necessary added insurance. The other people we worked with acted like they didnt want to be there and werent very clear in their instructions. When we went to pick up the car hauler the guy wanted us to go back inside with him to finish the paperwork but he didnt say that, he just walked away when we were talking to each other. We stood outside and kicked rocks for about 5 minutes before he came back out and yelled, Uh, did you guys want to finish the paperwork in here with me? as though we should have just known to follow him in and what he was doing. He had walked away and left us waiting for various equipment for the hauler a couple of times already.Rogan helped us load our car on the hauler because the other guy didnt know what to do, and he gave my husband clear instructions on how to take it back off again and some extra tips on the character of the equipment. If Rogan hadnt been there that day I would have gotten really frustrated. The GM was on location at a later time when I went to buy a box (I didnt have to wait as long on the fourth visit) and I made sure to tell him how amazing we thought Rogan was and how worthless everyone else had been.

On July 21st 2017 I rented a Uhaul truck and car tow to relocate to Texas. Uhaul put the car on the car tow trailer as I was told, we prefer to put the car on so we know its right and then its our liability if something goes wrong. On July 22nd the car tow broke down outside of Spanish Fork Utah. I called the Uhaul road side assistance (per the paperwork) to report a problem with the car tow trailer. After several conversations they found a mechanic to come fix the trailer. The only mechanic they could find was 2.5 hours away from where we were broke down! Finally after waiting in the hot vehicles with two adults, two children and a dog in 100 degree weather he arrived 3.0 hours after we broke down. (We had two cars so one was on the car tow the other was following behind). The mechanic was unable to fix the car tow so he took the car off the tow so he could take the auto tow into Spanish Fork and exchange it. While he was taking it off the auto tow (like a flat bed) he pulled off the entire right front bumper. He then stated we would have to call Uhaul to get it taken care of. We finally found another car tow, he put the car back on the new one and back on the road we were 5 hours later, only to realize 30 minute out he did not give use the keys to the car he put on the car tow, another 30 waiting for the mechanic to meet us on the side of the road to bring us the keys! After arriving in Texas, we turned the truck and car tow in, the clerk gave us a customer service number to call about the damage to the car bumper. (She was very polite and kind). Called Uhaul to report the damage, I was told the would have one of the reps from their insurance company (RepWest) call me that they already filed a claim. No phone call after 1 week, called Uhaul and was given the phone number for RepWest. After finally getting ahold of RepWest a claim had not been filed by Uhaul. They took the information and opened a claim and was told I would receive a call from the Adjuster within 48 hours. I did the adjuster Michael called and said he would open an investigation. Long story short from here, Uhaul refused to pay, reansoning, the Uhaul place I rented from in Idaho Falls, Idaho stated they put the car on correctly (go figure) and the mechanic that Uhaul sent out said it was not put on correctly which caused him to pull the bumper off. Neither would take responsibility, therefore, I am stuck with a $1,000 repair! I didnt even have the name of the mechanic as I figured he was part of Uhaul. First off, I did not call the mechanic, Uhaul did! This is a Uhaul problem not mine. The adjuster stated, this is why you have auto insurance, I suggest you turn it into your car insurance. Convenient for Uhaul to not take liability for damage that was done by their people. Beware people as they wiggle out of any liability! I will NEVER be using Uhaul again, I would have given them a negative rating if it was an option!
Please save yourself the headache when having these people install trailer hitch wiring! Horrible job, unprofessional, horrible customer service, and general lack of knowledge of how actual electrical wiring is supposed to be installed! If there was an electrical code for vehicle wiring like there are on homes these people would be out of business!I completely agree with the poor reviews about the horrible unprofessional hitch wiring method they use! I paid these guys to install the wiring so that it didnt look like I brought it to a junior high auto tech class! The manager was useless in helping out at all! He told me he could fix the improper wiring and that it would only take 30 minutes but out of principle I refuse to pay twice for something that should have been done correctly in the first place!

Zero customer service. Made an appointment 10 days in advance to have hitch installed. They pushed back my appointment time w/o my consent twice. The second push back was made the day of my appointment. It was their scheduling mistake and I was driving over an hour away to have work done, paying for a babysitter for the extra time that would be needed. Tried to call manager, who did not call back until I called several times. I missed the call, but returned call immediately, again he was too busy to talk to me. No apology. Nothing done for me. Uhaul customer service did nothing. Told me, I was the one who needed to pursue further resolution. Offered nothing. Will not being using uhaul ever again. Uhaul sucks.
I get my propane here and any work done on my hitches. They are always helpful.

If you want the most absolutely horrible experience as a customer be sure to visit U-Haul. They are always understaffed and not in any particular hurry to help anybody. I had a vehicle about burn to the ground due to the incompetent wiring done at a U-haul center. If you want propane you could be waiting a long time until literally every other person has been served by the one staff member thats on site. I swear Im never going back here again I dont know why I did today.

Uhaul is Uhaul; however, be cautious, this location is dishonest about their rental options to milk you for money. They also dont maintain their lot well; watched someone fall hard and crack their head last week.
