Made appointment mid July for August 12. Called a week before appointment and suggested I bring vehicle in August 11 since I had to travel nearly 100 miles. When I came in August 11 there was no record of my appointment. Service writer said no problem they would get it in next day and call me in the morning. I called on the 12th am and was told they would pull the transmission pan and call early afternoon with diagnosis. 4 PM I called and was told they were getting it in. 4:45 I get a call that my transmission is trash and for just $4000 I could get a transmission. I said put the pan back on and I would pick up on the 13th mid day. Got there at 3:30 and writer says we have to wait while he writes the bill. I get billed $176.00 for removing my pan and replacing. The crazy part, the original estimate was to replace solenoid pack for nearly the same cost. They also used the trans fluid and filter I provided. Not happy

They did a great job for us. Were able to squeeze us in and check and service our transmission in a moments notice while we were visiting from out of town. Thanks Western Transmission!

I highly recommend Western Transmission! I run a transport business and my trucks transfer case blew up on me. They not only fit me in that day but they were able to find a replacement when all other places were on backorder. And they got me back on the road by the end of the day and didnt try to hit me hard on the price because of the urgency and the limited availability of the part I needed. These guys are AMAZING and they know their stuff.

I came to Western Transmission in August for a second opinion on a car problem we thought was a transmission problem. Our car kept breaking down. After looking into it they determined it was an overheating problem on our Nissan. So they ordered an extra part for cooling, installed it, and I have had no issues since. It has been 9 months now! Just wanted to come back and leave a good review. These people are really good at what they do.

On our way to Yellowston and been having problems since California. Got it in same day, went with to rental car service to see what it was doing and got it in and done same day.

Brought my transmission in to have it looked at and we decided it would be better to order a rebuilt transmission. I was told 6 days would be the time till its ready for pick up. Today marks a month that I have been waiting. I still dont have it and wont for another week hopefuly.. not impressed. I use my truck for work and have had to pay for a rental this whole time. Ive almost sent as much on the rental as I will for the transmission. I will not be recommending this service to anyone who needs their vehicle fixed in any short amount of time

Had a car with issues on a road trip. They let me bring it in on extremely short notice and got it looked at and answered all my questions. Turned out to not be a transmission problem, but they made an effort to get me into a shop that would look at it. They also waived the $50 diagnostic fee. Good, knowledgeable, helpful people. Western Transmission was excellent, very knowledgeable and honest in their dealings.I should have gone to them first but decided to give Blackfoot Transmission a chance due to Slick Ad on TV. They over charged me and did repairs that werent needed to be done. They damaged my car so I would have to come back for more work.Thats when I went to Western and found out about what Robert Lee owner of Blackfoot Transmission had done to take my money and damaged my car for his gain. They are scam artists stay away from Blackfoot Transmission.Go to Western for good honest trusted repair of your car.

This place is awful! Made an appointment for a repair, cleared my schedule, drove for an hour. The guy at the front desk told me to go shopping as their guys were busy this morning. I dont know how he holds down his job!

After going to an auto parts store to diagnose my check engine light, I was told my vehicle was too old. However, they did recommend Western Transmission.Upon arriving, I was told it would be $45.00 for the diagnostic to determine the problem.After running the diagnostic, Cory told me that it was most likely the throttle position sensor, (TPS) and offered to replace it for $142.00.I said that I could not afford that amount, I am a senior and disabled veteran, to which he said No Charge for the diagnostic, thanks for your service.What a nice repair facility.

I had repair done on my car at this place, they were very thorough in what needed to be done and they were very knowledgeable and knew their stuff, and honest, and also got me in a day prior than when I was scheduled. I definitely recommend them!!! Very satisfied at their work!

These guys are great. Super friendly to the diy crowd - answered all of my questions and gave me a heads up on what to look for and how to do preventative maintenance myself. They filled me in on what was going on, what they thought was needed and not. If I lived in Idaho Falls permanently I wouldnt take transmission work I needed done anywhere else.

Western Transmission is a solid business with great customer service. They spent 5 min on out car in he parking lot and it worked better than when it was finished being worked on by the local Subaru dealer. They seem very knowledgeable and they are willing to back up the work that they do.

They were able to get my car in on Friday when I called on Monday, when I showed up they acted supprised when I showed up... They did what I asked, (transmission flush), told me that I needed to replace it, they quoted me about twice the price the internet told me it would be... But they were polite about it.

Ive had both a really great experience, and a really awful experience with Western Transmission.I once owned a 97 GMC pickup. It began shifting strange, and so I brought it in here. They quickly diagnosed it as a faulty ignition switch, and for $400, I was out the door and on my merry way. I was very pleased.I have since upgraded my pickup and now own a 2013 F-150. I began having a hard 3rd to 4th shift. Knowing my positive experience from before, I quickly brought it in here. They reset the computer, but it began shifting worse than before. Without much more thought, they instantly quoted me $2400 for a used transmission replacement, and $4000 for a new one.Wanting a second opinion, I took my truck into the Ford dealership. Ford reset the computer, updated the PCM software, and for $95, they fixed my hard shift issue. Id happily pay $95 over $4000. And even if Western had gone ahead and performed the transmission swap, they still would not have been capable of resetting the computer and updating the PCM as required.Long story short, I feel Western is well equipped to work on older vehicles, but they may now be lacking on their expertise regarding newer vehicles with more computerized components.
