Visiting yellowstone and the sliding door on our minivan fell off. Drove to Idaho Falls, and no one else would help. He got the door seated back in place, and got it to close so we could drive over 40 MPH. Took him 5 minutes, and he didnt charge me a cent. Wanted to buy him lunch, but he refused. Wish there were more people like him in this world.

If i could give a negative review I would. i brought a vehicle to them to install a custom engine in and put an electronic ignition on. After 6 months they were still unable to get the engine running. They blamed it on the flywheel being incorrect. The flywheel was built for the engine. A second mechanic found that they had broken two teeth off the flywheel. their installation of the serpentine belt had to be fixed to keep the belt from flying off the engine. They charged me $4000.00 for shoddy work and breaking my engine.

Rods automotive is one of a kind. They genuinely care about you as a person and show that in the work they do on. They go above and beyond on their work. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for honesty mechanic work. Very grateful I found this place.

Ive trusted Rods for the last 15 years. They have always been dependable, fair, and honest.

I called Rods Automotive when my truck died on the road. The manager dropped everything and came to help me jump the truck, and get it into the shop. The battery needed to be replaced, and it turns out the battery was still under warranty. The battery OEM sales rep was actually visiting the shop when I was there. The manager could have sold me a new battery, but instead did the honest thing and gave me a free one and installed it for free in a few minutes! From the time my truck died to the time I had a new battery was less than an hour and it didnt cost me anything! They even took care of the clerical work to process the warranty. I didnt need to do anything! Even though it was my lucky day, the team at Rods Automotive was very honest and refused to take advantage of me, instead offering excellent friendly service for free! Next time I need a repair, Ill be calling Rods first.

My car wouldnt start over the weekend and first thing Monday morning I got it over to Rods. They were able to put a new starter in it and have it running again by the afternoon. Great, reliable service! Hopefully I wont have any car troubles again soon but if I do I will be coming back to have these guys work on it

Take your car to these people! There simply is no other people in town or region like them!Where do I start about the amazingness of these people! My life was complete shambles and to some degree still is. It that time I was thinning out things and trying to get money for anything I could sell or recycle just to make ends meet. I had a stack of old BMW parts that had put away for my OLD BMW that finally ended up a metal cube. I took this stack to them, just in case they may need them, they didnt, but when I said I was going to just recycle everything, they said, Nope, not those rims, we will hold onto them for you until you can sell them or find a place for them. WHAT? Who has that kind of neighborliness anymore or would even suggest or lookout for someone elses welfare like that? They tried to sell them for me and even accommodated me when I would call when I thought I had someone to purchase them. Sure, what do you need us to do? We can take payment for them and send the money on to you. Just let us know. These are the real sort of human beings that were around when I was little. In fact, they wouldnt even take the money I offered for holding them for me even after they went through the trouble of putting a word out for them to people and almost had them sold.Take your car to these people! They will treat you right!

At the end of Aprilil we had some car problems, we took the car into rods & they told us it would take a week, maybe two to get the car parts all here & assembled into the car. It took 6 weeks for us to get our car back (it was a Friday evening) Sunday& we had to call to get any information on our car & what was going on with it, they never called us or gave us information willingly. Sunday evening the check engine light came on (the engine was what had been replaced) so we called & left a voicemail, hoping to get a call back so we could see what was going on. No return call from them. 2 weeks later our check engine light came on again, flashing super fast. We called again & left an urgent message. Again, no return call. We had to call again to even get any kind of experience with getting our car looked at again. Their customer service is awful. At least my husbands & my experience has always sucked. Which has been hard for me, because my mom has such good experiences with the company.......

So far so good, they did everything I needed, for a better price than I could have hoped for!

I took my Avalanche to get my catalytic converter installed at Rods Automotive and they gave a set price on how much it was going to cost me to relace the duel catalytic converter in my chevy .we agreed to get it done for the set price she gave me and then call me back 3 hours later and told me she had made a mistake on the price and i would have to pay more money and i answered why!! Its not my mistake . and didnt have a choice cause i needed my Avalanche back and when i went to Rods Automotive to pick up my Avalanche she told me that they had to replace some parts .and they didnt call me to approve them .i payed my bill and left went home and found out that they had swap my bug guard and my factory CD player from my avalanche and replace them with old broken one they thought i wasnt going to notice but i did and i went back to confront them and they acted stupid and denied it .never going back and letting people know to be aware and it seen there shady

Ive had two bad experiences with them. I went back after the first one trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. They didnt call me to approve work after their diagnosis and performed work on my vehicle we hadnt discussed. It ended up costing me more than three times their original estimate. That was my first visit. I came back because I dont think they properly addressed the issue I came in for the first time. I thought I would give them a chance to redeem themselves. Another bad experience. If they dont think they have you on the hook for an expensive repair they drag their feet and treat you poorly. After leaving my truck most of the day on a Friday, over the weekend and all day Monday and Tuesday, nothing had been done. They never called to give me a status update, share their diagnosis or consult with me. I finally called them and told them to leave the keys in so I could come pick it up in the evening. I wouldt recommend them.

Best place to have your car fixed. My dauhter works there and keeps it running.

My experience with Rods Automotive was less than satisfactory. They tried to charge me for services that I did not need and had already refused. On top of that, they had left my car outside, unlocked, with the keys inside overnight just because I refused to pay for a free inspection I had initially been promised. This was all followed by terrible customer service from the red headed lady at the front desk. Never again will I trust Rods Automotive.

I went in with a Volvo wagon that had blown a timing belt. They did a head job, and charged a hefty penny for it, then sent me home with a wheel not mounted correctly. (Who needs to take off a wheel to to a top-end of a motor?🤷‍♂️). So I take to a tire shop, and they show me the alignment pin in the hub that had been crushed into a corkscrew because they just kept pounding the wheel on there. NOW THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST OF IT:2-days later, it starts ticking the valves something fierce. We go back: they want to claim that they didn’t check all the clearances, so the valves are hitting the tops of the pistons (I’ve built engines, and this is BASIC/BEGINNER stuff to check.) He wants another $1600 on top of the $2-thou plus he charged before. STILL NOT THE WORST PART OF IT:I refused, I didn’t want this shop touching any of my vehicles ever again! I REFUSED their service, and said I’d be back to get the car. Guess what: THEY DID THE WORK ANYWAY, and then tried (and tried hard) to charge me for it. Their only excuse:”well, you really needed to have it done.”After a threat of court, they saw the other side of the issue, and they decided not to charge for the second head-job, but they were now going to refuse to honor any warranty that they had on their work,....like there was any honor in that place anyway.Stay away at ANY cost!! This place will screw you to the wall! Maybe try Tunex, I’ve had at least 50/50 with those guys.

I had to make an emergency visit today because I am heading out of town tomorrow morning. I walked in and within 2 minutes the owner was walking out with me to my car. It couldnt be fixed that day, so he helped me do a quick fix until I had more time. He figured out my issue, gave me a screw, nut, 2 washers, and a couple wrenches. While he showed me what to do he also saw that my headlights were scratched up so he gave me some solution and rags to clean them. When I tried to give him $10s for a couple minutes of his time and help he refused.I am good to go for my vacation, and will definitely be returning for the fix and future issues. Nice guy.
