I would not recommend living here EVER. Management is impossible to contact. They offer credits and discounts for rent but do not apply them, unless you run them down about it and that is impossible considering they are never in the office and dont answer the phone or emails. Save your money and move literally anywhere else. They make up charges and add them to your account. Half of these reviews are only positive because they give college students free food to write positive reviews. Dont be fooled!!

I had a good experience moving into Vie Towers. Philip gave a nice tour of the property and helped me get settled. I had an issue with my bathroom and he called maintenance for me right away, and the maintenance man came to fix it soon after. So far, everything has been pleasant.

I would not recommend this place as a place to live in AT ALL. Especially if this is your first apartment. Management is consistently unprofessional and uncaring. They only care about money and rent increases each year. They offered no support or services during the pandemic but made sure to charge us even though there were no amenities open at the time. Security guards sleep on the job and let anyone walk-in and out. All the bathrooms flooded in my unit (and in most of the units on the south side) and they offered no compensation! They took weeks to get it all fixed and in that time I could not shower or use the bathroom in my own room! They offered me $70 off rent which doesn’t even completely cover parking. This is one of many problems with this building.

Horribly unprofessional management (Melanie). She actively attempts to avoid interacting with us when we have a complaint or a question. Aside from her, the apartment building has external contracts for many things including maintenance and painting and dont seem to do their research on who they hire, so the jobs never get done. THE BUILDING ALSO TRIED to charge me for work that they never completed and that i never requested that they do.

I am happy to report I was able to speak and work with the office manager, Melanie Harvey, to resolve issues with the ledger of the resident portal as well as unsubstantiated billing after my daughters move-out. Melanie was extremely professional, immediately corrected the invoice, and admitted there are areas of opportunity she is trying to work through with her staff and accounting. My daughter was charged for cleaning expenses as the result of another tenant that moved out AFTER my daughter. My daughter was released from the cleaning bill because we took pictures of all the areas we cared for upon the move-out (pics of floors, inside cabinets, wall space, closets, tub, counter tops, etc). My advise to young people, is CYA (cover your a..) this can be done by keeping good records of your payments, document conversations (i.e. followup phone conversations with emails), and take detailed pictures when you leave the unit. This will eliminate headaches and difficult conversations later. I will say outside of the administrative issues, my daughter truly enjoyed her stay at Vie Towers.

Personally, living at Vie Towers and having it be my first apartment, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. The mailroom is a mess and definitely needs more than just 1 worker at a time. I understand that it’s not his fault, but that of management because they are the ones responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly. As of late, the electric bill has been insanely high which doesn’t make sense because we now have one less roommate but it has nearly tripled since. Vie never has a clear answer when we ask about our electric bill and there’s no itemized list for us to look at. There’s no reason why we went from paying $12 each to $50+. Some of my friends are paying $91 (this is a 4 person suite which means $300+ for their unit). Lastly, the $300 transfer fee has not only affected me, but my friend who believes their living situation is taking a toll on their mental and emotional health and would like to switch units. Vie told both of us that this fee is so they can clean it before we move in, however, as they are essentially playing the role of a landlord, it is their job to prepare housing for tenants to move into. Why should we pay to clean the room when it should be expected that the room isn’t going to be vacant forever and it should be cleaned anyway. There’s no reason why we should be paying a transfer fee in a pandemic. This place has no heart and the people who run it are extremely money hungry and take advantage of the fact that we’re college students with little options of where to live.

If I could leave this place negative 1000 stars I would. Just as someone said in the other reviews the management is money hungry and the staff does not care about the residents. The security guard was rarely there which put many residents at risk. My apartment flooded not once but TWICE and ruined some of my things that management refused to address. The heat generator is so loud and broke down causing the bathrooms and rooms of 2/4 units to flood. Im not sure what management does with the money except put it in their pockets and pay security guards to let anyone in. After you move out they charge you a massive bill for PAINT which they already had stacked up in the hallways when you first moved in. My fellow Bison use this place as your last last last last last last resort. You are better off paying a little extra than stay in this horrible establishment. It is poorly run by incompetent people.

Review №20

Somebody must be paying for these reviews. This is honestly the WORST place Ive ever lived!!!!. Since moving in late Aug./early Sep. weve had an issue every month (no exaggeration). I stay on the first floor and weve had intruders on our patio in September, November, and December. Due to this ongoing issue items have even gone missing from the patio. There were leaks in December, January, March and April. That maintenance still has yet to fix. Wires where a light once was damaged in the numerous leaks have been exposed since December. During this time, we were also in the cold for a week!!! With no help from management or maintenance to expedite fixing these issues. My roommate had bed bugs in October. In February and May we have had issues with our appliances. Our washer leaked every time we washed clothes and the stove caused the breaker box to switch causing everything downstairs to cut off. We’ve asked for a camera on the edge of our patio, which they’ve agreed to, only to never receive it. We were threatened with a $1500 fine for items that were on the property for at least 4 years. “Security” is a joke, half the time they cannot be found. Waiting for a package forget it you will not receive it the day it arrives if at all. They’ve misplaced 3-4 packages of mine. I was told “how do you know it was delivered just because tracking said it was” or “you picked it up a few days ago” when the package was delivered that morning. My door/door frame is off track and prevents me from properly locking my door. The drain in my tub is completely removable, it is not supposed to. Parking is literally a disaster waiting to happen. A few days ago, I saw two cars that were vandalized in the outside parking lot. All four tires had been removed and the front driver’s side was busted out. There was also an incident were a car was broken into and all the contents on the ground. While in the parking garage there were incidents of car break ins also. Management knows about these issues and FAILED to do anything about it. There is more but not enough space or time. This place is ultimately money hungry and do not care about its residents. I have personally called, email, and written letters to try and resolve these issues. Nothing has changed yet. I would not recommend this place to anyone.I am truly baffled by the level of incompetence constantly displayed by those at Vie Towers.

Vie Towers is only okay if you want to pay to live in a Glorified Dorm as an Adult. I’ve been living here since Jan 2020. They have random water testing where they shut down the whole buildings access to water. From 9am to 6pm, you cant shower, flush, wash dishes, or do laundry. Many people are having to go out to buy their dinners vs cooking. Their random fire drills have been during prime class hours, which doesnt make sense. Security is a joke. They are not monitoring who comes in and out the building. Anyone could get in. The gym isnt as accessible as they tell you, because you have to book an appointment for a specific time, and then they dont adhere to their own schedule. Fees are added to your account for miscellaneous stuff, such as me having to show renewed proof of insurance, but because I wasnt told to provide photo ID I was charged $15 because my submission was “invalid”. Amenities that you pay for are broken or not available for use. Maintenance takes their time on repairs, and to top it all off when covid hit and people werent able to pay cause jobs werent available they harassed me almost everyday. I paid my rent on time and never had a problem before, but to get calls everyday and we all know whats going on in the world..? Sucks that Youre the one who decided to stay there so you have to deal with it. Just find somewhere else. Theres are atleast five other apartment buildings in this direct area. Do some research.

Vie Towers takes advantage of students. I was moved into a unit last summer that had a broken door. My roommates and I emailed them continuously asking for them to come fix our door as its a safety hazard for our door to not close completely. Management gave us excuse after excuse and never solved the issue. We asked if we could receive compensation since we were paying full rent for an apartment with a broken door and were only given $100 once even though we went from July 2019 until June 2020 with a broken door. Moving out was extremely disorganized. They had the whole apartment building to move out before noon on that day or else you were charged a $500 fee. This was completely hectic as elevators were not working, there were a limited number of moving carts and the driveway was filled with cars and moving trucks. Most recently, my roommate and I were not given the full amount of our security deposit back and were charged for light bills that we already paid for. This place is truly a scam. Please save yourself headaches and money and do not move here. Management should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of students and blatantly making up fees.

VIE TOWERS IS TRASH!!!My first review was ~magically~ deleted, but I dont mind posting again :)I wouldnt give Vie Towers any stars if it were up to me. I mean what would you rate a company who sends male employees, unannounced, into apartments at 11:45pm to post fliers on the bedroom doors of terrified female residents thinking someone mistakenly broke into their apartment? What would you rate a company who sends male employees into a womans room, again unannounced, while she is in the shower to greet them fully naked upon leaving her bathroom, unaware of their presence in her bedroom? What would you rate a company with 3 female residents who previously requested only female roommates but come to find out the 4th new roommate was indeed an older male? I can handle their unprofessional staff that use your cell phone number to harass you for marketing purposes. I can handle the never ending construction that has yet to finish, leaving us with limited amenities I continue to pay for. I can even handle them coming into my room (you guessed it-- unannounced) dumping my clothes and bedding onto the floor for cheap new furniture replacements. But what I refuse to do is give a decent rating for a company that does not value me as a resident-- much less, as a person. Vie Towers is constantly encouraging us to Be Inspired-- the only thing this company has inspired me to do is find a new place to live.

I would rate a 4 but ill rate a 3 because of how annoying it comes when RenEw YouR ReNT season comes, Ill explain later.......... Im Keklee, i lived their for 2 years since I couldnt live on campus. really loved it, it was the closest vibe I got to living a campus life. besides almost killing my roomate for throwing away my items for no reason, lol had good chill roommates. I would definitely want to live their again or even refer it to a friend. even have a free shuttle back n fourth to campus, saves time and money on metro or Uber but the shuttle comes at weird times but thats a whole nother story......my bad review is : they will hassle you to renew your lease. they will purposely up their price and say renew your rent before this day or your rent is going to go up...... people who havent even experienced the apartment for more then like 3-4 months like my new set of roommates had to quickly decide if they wanted to live their next year and it was a hard decision plus for me, when management would ask me if I am going to renew I would Get a little annoyed and say say something like maan I dont know, I just renewed my lease, yall gotta give me a chance to get a couple months into my new lease smh .the longer you wait, the longer the new rent goes up for your renewal, I dont know if thats how they do it at other apartments but thats some trap your customer sh*t.luckily, with all the forcing they tried on me, I didnt renew, thank God and covid hit and I was happy I didnt have to pay 1k every month just to sit in my apartment to do online school like the rest of the people they trapped lmao even though it woulda been nice not to move back home but look, its a pandemic, no one has 1k a month just to to home online school like that you know so im glad I didnt renew.leading to that, when cover started, it was hard to pay rent and we kept getting calls. management even ask for us to ask a family member for like idk 400 dollars or some number so we can pay part of my rent I owed off like we not in the middle of a pandemic lmaoo showed they didnt care, they only care when its time to trap you lol...anyways, but yea besides that....good friendly management, clean apartments, no bugs or what so ever but I do hear stories about some apartments with roaches but its hard to believe, ill rate their bug life a 5% out of 100 lol if a apartment has bugs then the people living their before were stupid dirty Im talking middle of the country on a hot summer day dumpster dirty lol thats the only way you attract bugs at vie towers. these apartments has to be one of the cleanest within the citybut yea high priced apartments, I loved it though, nice view, nice management, management will stock you to renew your lease all the way to your grave with emails etc, dont let them trap you if you dont want to renew or whatever, nice student environment, mostly Howard students and last thing, hard annoying security. probably most safest place in Maryland I give them that but management makes security treat us like were 11 year olds, got 2 sign in our guests every time. sometimes we dont have two minutes to stand and wait to sign them in so like we dont, were college students like yea. especially homecoming. one of the managers saw give my apartment key to my friend so I can go do something really quick and he confronted me about it, im like dude im 23 lol its not that serious lol... this question is for management = why yall more strict when it comes to Howard homecoming but less strict for Maryland homecoming ? the strictness always gets ignored anyways lol smh but good apartment, Id live their again just for the social life and cleanness

It looks so great since being newly renovated, I love it. I would recommend living here to almost anyone. They also have a great staff as well; especially Adé at the resident relations desk. She is very charming and extremely helpful. 10/10 experience thus far.

Been a Resident at Vie Towers for the past 10 months. I love my experience here in which led me to extend my lease for another year. The staff are extremely nice & helpful and act on issues on the same day reported. Vie Accounts especially Melanie is very helpful as well. Any questions, problems or concerns you can always rely on her for assistance.

Love Vie Towers! It has all the amenities you can possibly need and has a mall across the street and a movie theater a few steps away. Most of the residents are students but I have had no problems with disorderly conduct or noise concerns. Overall I have loved living here and just renewed my lease!

Vie is so convenient for me because I dont have a car so the transportation to Howard is really important. This is my second year living here and it has been great! The renovations since they took over has been a huge change that we needed.

This would be my second year leasing with Vie Towers. Prices for rent are fair and the amenities are useful especially the shuttle that transports Howard Students to campus. Located right across a mall which is convenient for grocery shopping. Plan on renewing my lease again for the next year.

I LOVE living at Vie Towers. It has great amenities and is super accessible to everything you need. Im a big fan of their promotional events as well- it is very clear that the staff is working hard to make everyone feel comfortable. Would highly recommend for college students looking for off-campus living options.

Really enjoy living at Vie Towers. Programs and resources were really fun and helpful, and the rooftop is an amazing place to relax/check out the view. Easy access to green line metro and shuttle transportation to Howard’s campus right in DC is a great amenity!

I love living here. I go to Howard and the shuttle service is very convenient. However, I wish the shuttle pick ups were more frequent and the hours extended later in the night and on weekends. I would also like to see later rooftop hours when it’s warm outside. Other than that, this is a great place to live.

One word convenience. Everything you pretty much need all in one place. Gym on 1st floor with quality equipment, pool on roof along with outdoor lounge/rooftop, mall, movie theaters, supermarket and variety of stores within very short walking distance. Metro a few minutes away from the building. Twenty minutes outside of D.C. Each room has its own bathroom. The people at the front desk(still learning the all the names) are very very helpful. Went above and beyond to help me out. Great location if relocating, or just looking for a place in general.

Im gonna be honest my time at the Vie Towers was horrible. I wish I would have know exactly what I was getting into when I signed my lease. My first issue with the Vie Towers was the fact that they just throw you into a living space. I had been aware that both students and professionals could live at the Towers, but it would have been nice if they assigned you to a living space based on your current status (Ex. if you are a college freshman your roomates should also be other college freshman.) I understand you cannot perfectly pair roomates but living with similar people can create a conducive environment. My second issue with the Towers was management did not seem to truly care about their policies. Specifically in my unit there constant smoking and loud music. The Towers has a no smoking policy, and I get it we are adults and we a free to make our own decisons. But the smoking issue within my unit got to a point where it was effecting my sleep, my ability to study and the smell started to get into my clothes. When I went down to the office and spoke with a lady she told me I am sorry to hear you are having this issue, because weed has become legal in DC we are having trouble combating smoking on the premises she took down my unit number and that was it. Still my issue was not resolved so I went back down to the office and I asked if I could transfer rooms I was told I would not be able to transfer rooms. Once again my unit number was written on a paper instead this time I was told in order for us (management) to take action you must file a complaint at least 3 times. The loud music playing was unpredictable, sometimes it was in the middle of the day and lasted well into the night sometimes it could have been as late as 4am. There were nights where my bed was literally vibrating from the bass of the music. They suggested I talk to my roomate which I did multiple times nothing ever got resolved. Furthermore, there were multiple people living in my unit who were not on the lease. These people literally moved into our living room and slept on the couch so I couldnt even sit in the living room. There are many issues with this place the random fire alarms in the middle of the night (not to mention there was a full fledged fire on my floor in the middle of the night smoke filled the hallways), maintenance have full access to your unit (they do not knock they just walk in), and the crazy overage charges. Not to mention it is located in high crime area I never felt safe and the Towers did not do anything to make me feel safe (security staff was lackluster at best). For the most part of the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semester ended up just crashing at my friends place. If you do plan on staying be prepared to be on high alert and be aware of your surroundings. I think the best part about staying here was that Target and plenty of food spots we located directly across the street. Overall I had a miserable time staying here. I guess this would be a good place to stay if you plan on living with people you know, but other than that I would seriously suggest you look elsewhere.

This is the most convenient apartment you’ll find for the DMV area! It’s 5 min from the Metro and they also host various events to engage residents. Not to mention the rent prices are very reasonable!! Highly recommend this apartment for young professionals.
