Sales person was greatHowever- I moved our express pick up time from 7p to 5p and the person I talked to did not update the schedule. We ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours.Also, I asked for all the filters to be replaced and an oil change β€” and none of them were. The cabin filter was a mess. And we are now going to our mechanic to get everything changed. We paid cash for the car and it should have been ready.I do not think I would come back.

I couldnt recommend CarMax enough. I had a fantastic experience every step of the way. I had a car transferred from out of town and had a great phone call with the team to ensure I was informed at that step. Once the car was here I was notified and they allowed me to take a 24-hour test drive with the car. During the test drive I noticed that there was an issue with a car, and CarMax took solid steps to solve the issue and no cost to me. I went on to purchase the vehicle and felt confident in that decision given their 30-day money back guarantee, as well as the 90 day warranty. I felt they were open and transparent the entire way and could not speak highly enough to the sales team at the Huntsville location. I will definitely return to CarMax for any future car purchases.

I was quoted a price online for my vehicle. This amount was $4900.00 dollars higher than what another dealership had offered me on a trade in. So I went to my closest Carmax dealer, thinking this would turn out to be a scam. As it turned out, I received the exact amount I was quoted and wasnt even asked to purchase a car from them. Carmax is simply amazing and this whole process was great.

I will NEVER shop at a regular dealer again. The CarMax process was a pleasure from start to finish. From finding the car I wanted online, to shipping (could have taken less time on that though - 10 days is a long time to wait on a car to go 300 miles), to customer service to paper work and final delivery... Overall our experience was good. The staff was helpful and friendly. My biggest issue with the whole process is how SLOW it was! We paid to have our car shipped. It was supposed to be ready for us in 14 days.....it took 17 if I remember correctly. When I arrived to do the paper work it took so long that I had to leave to go to work and finish it the next day! When I arrived the next day....I waited for 3 hours before I was called back to sign papers. I was actually about to leave! It would be better if customers could do all the finance and signing online and curbside pick up the car.

Dylan was so patient and helpful throughout the entire process. He really takes out time to understand his customers needs and wants and even offer other things that a specific vehicle may lack. He’s such a kind person. We were kinda on the fence of a vehicle so he held the vehicle for us just to make sure it was what we wanted. His communication skill is impeccable and he’s wonderful. The fact that I told him to throw something away that was in my vehicle but instead he held it? The next day I went there to return a key from my previous vehicle and there my item sat on his desk. He said, β€œI held it just for you!” Because I really wanted it but was too caught up in my new vehicle that at the moment I didn’t care. I’ve purchased other vehicles in the past but this experience with Dylan was beyond my expectation. I searched for my vehicle using the carmax.com. I found the Jeep that matched my wishlist and went to Carmax to make a final purchasing decision. They allowed me to test drive the Jeep and answered all my questions. I even took the Jeep for an overnight test drive to be sure it was the one. All of this was pretty easy with Carmax. I now own the Jeep and was very pleased with the personnel at Carmax. I will consider buying from again. Oh, they gave me a GREAT trade-in price on my 2019 Ford Ranger. This definitely made them a top contender for my business.

I worked mostly with Mark. Everything about it was excellent except for one thing which the company went out of its way to make right. I appreciate that and am satisfied with their efforts. I really liked there was no barriers from Mark about what was possible in finding exactly what I wanted. I am VERY satisfied with the car so far. We actually had what could have been a really bad experience. We purchased a car from CarMax and immediately had electrical problems with it. CarMax stepped in and did everything they could to get the car fixed including giving us a loaner car to use. When we decided to take them up on their 30 day return and back out of our purchase, CarMax was once again fabulous! I was anticipating β€œsmall print” to fight through but there was none! It was completely painless and peaceful and we ended up purchasing another vehicle from them. They were even having some kind of IT issue the day we went in to return the car we originally purchased and paid for us to go have lunch while they got the technical bugs worked out. CarMax pleasantly surprised us at every turn!! We will be back and I would recommend them to anyone!! Thank you, CarMax!!

Horrible experience. I havent purchased a car in over 10 years and I was super nervous about the entire thing.. I had a car reserved for me to look at, well the salesman could NOT have cared less about selling me a car, he made us feel like we were inconveniencing him, no customer service skills at all.. He was unable to answer any of our questions about the cars we asked about. He had to go inside to see if he could find any cars in my price range and came out with 1 available, which I know was not true, I had already been on their web page and had been talking with a car max consultant all week.. I had already done all the paperwork online, and was approved so the work was already done for him, and I was ready to buy a car that day and I did but NOT from car max..I dont remember the employees name, which is probably best.. we left the lot and went next door to Landers Nissan and bought a vehicle. Worst experience ever.

Our salesman K was amazing! He took care of us and even paid for our dinner. The process was pretty smooth but the reason for only 3 stars was because when it was time to sign our papers and finish up we sat in the waiting area for at least an hour and my husband finally went over to the window to see how much longer and when the lady turned around and asked who was working on our stuff everyone looked around in confusion. At this point it was already 8pm and we were exhausted from being there since 2pm. We finally got out of there right before 9pm. I would definitely recommend K to get you taken care of.

They did this to me and I was rear-ended, totaling the car. Now Im stuck with 6k in debt due to this mysterious declined gap insurance. That 6k is after the insurance settlement paid 4k on the loan. So thanks for the debt, carmax. Bang up job on my credit.

Terrific experience with CarMax. I ordered a car from Chicago, got it shipped promptly to Huntsville. When the care arrived, it was missing a key feature (GPS) that the advertisement said it had. CarMax immediately refunded the transfer and reduced the price that had been advertised. I did have some issues with the BMW, electrical ones, that were significant, and difficult for the CarMax or the local BMW dealership to fix. Very difficult. CarMax stuck with it ever bit of the way, and covered the extensive costs with BMW, all done in the 90 day warranty. Extremely pleased with their honesty and willing to make it right. Just a very, very pleasant experience with the Huntsville, AL, CarMax.

The purchasing process was great. I drove to Huntsville from Wilmington, NC because gas, renting a car, and a hotel was cheaper altogether than delivery, and they worked well with me. Last appointment of the day, the staff was patient with me while signing everything went past their closing time. But hope to God you don’t have to try to call them for any reason afterwards. It’s currently about one month after I bought my car, my temporary plate has expired, and I’m still waiting to get my car registered because the DMV here is so backed up. My DMV nor my local CarMax will give me a new temp tag because I didn’t buy the car in NC. I have to call Huntsville Carmax to get a new one mailed to me, and for 3 days in a row now I waited on the hold line for 45+ minutes waiting to be connected to someone in sales (because no other department option sounded like they would deal with temp tags) until I just gave up and hung up. In person: absolutely great. Awesome service. Edward was super kind and patient with me and my boyfriend. Calling this store: 0 stars. I already got a warning from an officer because my temp tag is expired, but I have no other car to drive, and I can’t get another tag because I can’t get ahold of this store.

The entire staff is very efficient, which streamlines the whole buying process. If the car you want isnt on the lot, they can have it delivered from another location with no obligation for you to buy it. Update:Id put half a star if I could. The bed liner on the truck in question was broken and Carmax signed paperwork saying it would be fixed. It was a month before I could get someone to contact me about when it would be fixed and after providing pictures and manually researching the parts myself, its been months now and I still have not heard back. My wife and I went in to purchase a new truck that we had transferred down from Georgia. The entire experience has changed from very positive and efficient into one where it feels very adversarial and anti-customer friendly. The sales rep we used was new and unfamiliar with processes and was very sexist. He refused to listen when I constantly told him that my wife wanted to test drive the truck and was also co-signing the loan. He only answered questions to me, even when my wife asked direct questions. At one point, he asked to see our loan amount. He insisted we log into our bank and show him on our phone. When we stated we didnt want to use that method because it also shows all our bank account info, he got a manager, who was very rude, defensive, etc.. He insisted we could only proceed if we showed him our information on our phone and even folded over a document that stated at least two other methods they could use to get this information directly from the bank. He instead tried to hide those methods from us and put all the pressure on us, rather than take the approach where he could call and get that info. himself. We eventually got the truck after many hours of waiting. I will honestly never buy another vehicle from Carmax given the experience we had. Theyve basically become the used car sales dealer that represents the worst of the industry. Treating everyone as adversaries rather than customers, sacrificing customer service for laziness and treating people like they cant afford the vehicles theyre trying to buy. So disappointed.

Overall we had a great experience, although is was a long and stressful one! We had quite a few bumps in the road but overall very happy with our purchase so far! We worked with quite a few different sales reps (Jose,Edward,Tj), one of the managers (Jim), and I was also assisted over the phone while searching for the car by other sales reps that were very helpful as well (Jarvis,Shawn). If you are looking for a car, I definitely suggest looking online rather than walking the lot unless you are set on buying a car from the Huntsville location, there will be a much bigger selection that way. There were a lot of unavailable cars on the lot when we went both times, but if you are willing to wait, they have a pretty good selection that can be transferred, which I thought was awesome. The car we fell in love with was actually being held by someone on the day we wanted to buy, so we had to wait until their time was up and stalk the website to see it become available again. Stayed up all night but it finally did! We ran into some bumps that caused stress to both sides of the process when we got to the actual buying process but they handled it really great and we are so thankful they did whatever they could to make sure we could get the car we wanted. It may have taken all day long, caused a few tears and a headache, we were able to get the car we wanted and we cant wait to enjoy it ❀ Thanks to all the people that took time to make sure we got to get car we wanted and for being so patient during the entire process πŸ‘

It was amazing experience and I loved my vehicle until not even a month after buying it I actually looked at my rotors on the rear are really bad and have alot of grooves but new brake pads and the front are brand new and all four tires are but they couldnt even replace all four rotors before selling. I overlooked the fact that they didnt really detail the inside of my SUV before I finalized purchased all and all I love my car and they are friendly people.

Alex the salesman helped me find what I was looking for quickly and efficiently and I was happy with my purchase. 3 months later and the bumper just fell off while I was driving. No accidents, or wrecks of any kind. Just fell off. I thought oh no big deal I pay EXTRA every month for the Carmax cares plan so this won’t be a big deal. Turns out carmax doesn’t care. This plan doesn’t cover anything β€œcosmetic” even though my engine bay is completely exposed and if I drive it something will break. So yeah as previously stated the employees are all great and very helpful but the service is trash.

Sales part was great! Our sales associate was very helpful and offered to help us truly find the best deal and best car! My issues were with customer service when it came to registration. I went to register my car and upon purchasing the car, I used my maiden name. Since then I have gotten all my legal paperwork to come in now showing my married name. When I went to register my tags, the DMV said that I needed the title in my new married name which wouldnt be an issue since CarMax was behind on getting my paperwork filed (according to the DMV). They suggested I call CarMax and have them change my name on the title and fax to DMV. When I called CarMax, the girl on the phone said that the DMV was lying and all paperwork had been filed. And if I knew my name would change (which is what i told the sales associate who told me it wouldnt be an issue) then i shouldnt have bought the car in the first place. She then took down my name and said a manager would give me a call.......still waiting and now having to pay a fee with the DMV for late tags......

But I have not owned my car more than 4 days and I have already had to bring it back twice now. The first was because the undercarriage wasnt properly screwed in and came off while it was driving on an interstate.And now the car literally stopped moving in the middle of the road. And of course this location cannot be reached on the phone. So here I am having to flip the bill for a tow truck on a car that supposedly went through and inspection before it was sold to me.Honestly, if a member of management does not reply to me I hope you guys lose the business of every person that reads this. its not reasonable to expect you guys to answer your phones within 2 minutes of somebody calling. but both times Ive had issues both times I have not been able to get anyone after being on hold for an entire hour or longer.

The service department and Team after the sale has probably had the biggest impact on my experience. Top notch folks and not once have i ever felt anything but welcomed. I had a wonderful hassle free experience at CarMax in Huntsville Alabama! Garrett was amazing! Our work schedules clashed and without skipping a beat he was happy to help on BOTH of his days off. Not just that, but he stayed over to wait for me to get off of work and finish the deal. I had no salesman breathing down my neck hounding me. Prices are fair and visible. Ive always had a good experience with CarMax. My husband and I have bought 3 cars from them in the past several years. Theyre very helpful. They never try to upsell you but will offer suggestions on which car will give you the most bang for your budget. The service people are great too. Always purchase the extended warranty. We have made our money back on those.

I viewed different vans online and made a quick call when I felt Id found the van I wanted. With very little effort on my part, the van of my choice was brought to the dealership and I was scheduled to come for a test drive. I actually bought my car here almost a week ago and enjoyed the experience. I wasnt there to buy a car, my husband was. But I loved the car so much I bought it instead! Car salespersons are not annoying and are very friendly. The car buying process was easy and fast. I brought my prequalification letter directly from capital one so it made everything go smoothly. I had been looking for a truck with low miles at a decent price. Every truck I looked at had very high mileage. Carmax was able to locate a 2009 with only 97000 miles. It took 10 days to transfer it to my location but once it arrived it was exactly what I was looking for. My only concern was that the extended warranty was being pushed. At 97000 miles the warranty was $1700 and would cover the vehicle to 125000 miles. That price for 28000 miles is not a good investment. Please don’t push it once the customer says no.My experience with Carmax was good and I would recommend them as a source when looking for a vehicle.

My salesperson always got back to me quickly, as we went back and forth about three weeks figuring this out! I had two TERRIBLE experiences at the CarMax in Hoover. I was ready to throw in the towel, but had heard very positive things about the CarMax Huntsville location. I decided to give it one more shot and I wasnt disappointed. Dominique was so kind and patient with my husband, my mom, and me. We test drove a couple of vehicles and looked at several more. We never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything. It was exactly the car buying experience CarMax promises its customers. We left the lot with a brand new (to us) car that we absolutely love.
