Upfront Doctors, Decent prices, and always honest. I went through HB Pet Hospital for about a year for check ups, med refills, and trying to help my Dane near the end of his life. Now Im still using their services for my cat and am just as satisfied. My favorite part is the honesty, saved me serious money when I was trying to make the right choices for my boy.

All the staff seems incredibly knowledgeable, including the nurses (is that what they’re called?), super reasonable prices, really prompt service (no waiting around forever) and really up front with all their prices. Had a great experience, and am happy to make them my dogs permanent vet.

I had been to two other vets before coming here, neither of whom could solve my dog’s specific issue, and didn’t really care. Then we came here and got Dr. Lewis on the case and he immediately helped us! He was invested in helping our dog from minute one. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about caring for his patients. I was able to get an appointment quickly for my dogs annual exam and shots. The staff were all friendly and responsive. The staff are so nice but unfortunately to get my cats nails trimmed went from $17.00 in July 2020 to $21.00 a couple months later to know Feb 2021 to $26.00!!!! Way to expensive and she made it sound like it has been that price for a year. It is like they just pick a price.

We had lost our Boston of ten years in June. My son got us a new Boston puppy and now that we are senior and were still suffering from how quickly we lost our beloved Maddie we just were not sure if we were ready. Dr. Lewis, even with Covid, made it a point to come out to me and explain some issues (minor) that we had with our new puppy. He was so sweet and comforting and didnt leave out anything. We were treated so well and our new little love Trixie was handled so sweetly. I will only go here after seeing what compassionate and talented staff is on hand. When we lost our Maddie we had been using another vet and nothing against their expertise, but they just didnt show us the compassion we so needed. I couldnt be there for her passing, and it just tortured me. I wish I could have just has some words of comfort. I firmly believe the Huntington Beach Pet Hospital is full of staff who do understand the human and pet connection and are so respectful and they know their business. Thanks for letting two old seniors realize what a gift we received with our new little Boston. Dont waste time, just go to this Vet.

I came two weeks ago to schedule a spay for my four month old kitty and with the pandemic going on, they made sure to keep distance with precautions. All I had to do was give them my crate with my kitty inside and they took her in for a wellness check! They even had 50% first time coming here, so it was more affordable!!! Everyone was friendly and they had great customer service! I would recommend my friends and family members to come here too!

Dr. Lewis and the crew are incredible for one important reason - they care. There are a ton of veterinary hospitals in Huntington Beach, CA, but I think you would be hard pressed to find a more committed team. My dogs have pretty terrible allergy problems, and they have worked tirelessly to find the perfect mix of mediation and diet options to figure it out. After six years or working with veterinary specialists in other cities, Huntington Beach Pet Hospital figured it out quickly and it has completely changed my dogs quality of life. Do yourself a favor and check them out, you will not be disappointed.

Dr Lewis cares about your pet and he always makes them better. His Office Staff is very friendly and always goes above and beyond to help.

I liked the experience with the Doctor and staff but they are not accommodating if you don’t get meds from them. They will give you a prescription but will not confirm by phone or fax with a pharmacy to renew ongoing prescriptions. I guess a way to force you in to pay for an appointment every time you need your pets meds!

They are very compassionate to you and your pets needs. I will continue to return to Huntington Beach Pet Hospital for my pets.

A really great experience. I was able to get a same day appointment for my cat with a hurt foot. The whole staff was great from the front office to the nurse and doctor. Very thorough treatment plan and they took the time to make sure I understood the at home care instructions; including what to do if the foot worsened after hours. I will use them again.

The best care my dog could have had. When they found out my dog passed away suddenly after a visit the DR immediately called me himself to discuss what had happened and express how sorry they were. A few days later I received a card in the mail. The support and love they had even after she passed, and the joy they had whenever they saw my dog is enough to make me come back whenever I decide I am ready to get another pet. You wont regret coming to them. All costs are given to you upfront before treatment so you can reject or approve, and they are quick to squeeze in emergent cases like mine was.

We took our new puppy for her first exam and where very impressed with how the staff and Dr. handled the new Covid-19 guidelines. The nurse and Dr. took time to answer all our questions. We feel we made the right decision picking HB Pet Hospital to take care of our new family member.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Dr. Hill is one of the most caring and compassionate veterinarians I have ever had the opportunity to know. She is incredibly thorough and gives every patient the time and care that is required. She has taken care of my two dogs Truman and Sophie and my cat Juno for the past 5 years and I have never had a bad experience.One of the best things about Dr. Hill is her knowledge about a variety of species (if it can fit through the doors she will see it)! Which is a rarity in the case of many veterinary hospitals.One of the hardest parts about veterinary medicine is the business part. A lot of people have trouble spending money when it comes to their animals. When you take your pet to any veterinarians office dont expect for everything to be FREE. You bring your pet to a place of business for professional advice what you choose to do with that advice is your decision. It is not a place to barter and haggle, just like a human doctors office, dentist, or even the grocery store for that matter ....at least I hope people dont do that. If you dont have the money to pay for treatment there are other options out there such as care credit. Dr. Hill and her staff are always up front about the cost of everything and are more than willing to provide an estimate before procedures are done. I have been to a few vet offices where they like to surprise you with a bill at the end, Animal Care Center is definitely not one of these places.If you are looking for a fabulous vet in orange county Dr. Hill is the one to see!

Dr. Lewis and his team are 100% AMAZING!!! I trusted them to help Sweet Pea (my Boston) through Cushings and when it was her time to go, I couldnt have entrusted her with anyone better. I wasnt strong enough to watch her go and they made sure she was comforted through her entire journey. Now they care for my Soy Sauce & although she can be a temperamental cat, she is so relaxed there that we had to encourage her to get up off the scale. Once she got on the table, she went down for the belly rubs and the scale was even more comfy for her. Shots were a piece of cake this last visit. Youve got the right team behind you Dr. Lewis!!!

We feel so blessed that we found our wonderful Dr. Hill for our beautiful Misha when we moved back to Huntington Beach 4 1/2 yrs ago. I visited Huntington Beach Pet Hospital before I made an appointment for my two cats, one senior. The women at the front desk were very happy to answer my questions and went out of their way to be helpful.I was encouraged, so the next day or so, I checked them out on Yelp (although these reviews are not necessarily a good picture of the reality of a business). All looked good so I went to their website, went to forms, filled out my info and requested an appointment. Within 24 hours I received a call from the office to set up my appointment.The appointment went very well (unless you ask my very upset cats who turn into complete different cats when they go to the vet). Dr. Lewis was very good with my upset cats as was the staff. I felt I had plenty of time to ask questions and left feeling very satisfied.It took a few days to get blood work results, but when they became available, I got a very thorough explanation via phone from Dr. Lewis.I can wholeheartedly recommend this pet hospital based on my experience, which I categorize as excellent.

Our little cat is still working through stress related illnesses, but Dr. Lewis has been there the whole way. He goes much further than expected to make sure your pet is moving through the recovery process. I have kept him updated on our cats process via an email stream started by using their website contact form. He consistently gives a reply much sooner than expected, and with good suggestions for how to proceed next. A wonderful experience so far, and we are very thankful for his clarity, and willingness to think through our pets issues instead of making any rash diagnoses.

Ive been taking my pets to this location for nearly 10 years. Why??? Its not because its close to my home. There are 2 other vets within closer proximity to my home and place of business. Dr. Lewis was really great. Our frenchie was having some skins issues that wouldnt go away so we brought him to Dr. Lewis because the site mentions he specialized in dermatology. After 3 days the pup is cleared up and hasnt itched once! Pricing is very reasonable as well. Luther will keep seeing him.

Dr Lewis is an amazing doctor and takes great care of all of my dogs. He always gives me great advice about options for my babies. Unfortunately as they age sometimes the treatment choices become limited but he goes above and beyond doing extra research and always keeps me in the loop. I would give you 10 stars if I could! Dr. Hill and her staff have been very knowledgeable, friendly and gentle when it comes to treating and examining my two cats. I feel that the prices are a bit high, but it is worth it to me to make sure they receive the quality care they deserve. I would give this office and every aspect of it (staff, ease of scheduling, cost, service, professionalism, comfort level and of course- the Doctor) more than 5 stars if I could. Ive had my dog for 9 years, lived in multiple states, dealt with many veterinarians and this is the first time that the vet actually tried to calm my dog down while examining her. And Im not just talking about a little pet here and there and then rushing through the exam- but actively trying to make her relax like a normal pet owner. Dr. Lewis answered any and all questions I had about my dogs conditions and gave me realistic expectations for all upcoming testing and procedures that my dog may need. Its refreshing to finally have found a veterinarian who you can tell has a an actual passion for his clients well being (both human and animal) and whose explanations and personality illustrate his clinical knowledge and skills. It makes me very confident that my dog has finally found the right veterinarian to take excellent care of her.

Dr. Andrew Lewis and staff are caring, thoughtful and efficient. My friends suggested I switch to Dr Lewis and staff. At the other vet, my 2 dogs were nervous, shaking, unsettled at all times. At Dr. Lewiss business, my dogs started out shaking and then stopped shaking. The dogs even sat down calmly and the dogs left calmly after their procedures were finished.

We really appreciated all the employees in the office. They were helpful and really honest. Our dog is extremely overweight and now he is on a diet. I hope it works! We will go back to this office because it is obvious that they care about the animals they serve.

So happy we found Dr. Lewis for our pups! He clearly loves animals. He builds his treatment plan considering the whole picture. I have an older pup with hip/knee problems and instead of a more aggressive (and more expensive) treatment plan he suggested something else due to her advanced age. Needless to say, our senior pup is responding great to treatment and Ill be calling for a rx refill soon!

Dr. Lewis seems very honest & compassionate, those are very important qualities for a veterinarian to have. The only reason I didnt give 5⭐️ is because when I take my American Eskimo to get fluids the staff gets it all over him and to make matters worst they give him to me wet w/ fluids. Other than that this place is A-ok!

Amazing care from truly dedicated professionals. I just recently relocated to Huntington Beach and needed to take my dog for an emergency vet visit for a bad-looking skin problem she had developed during our drive across the country. Being completely new to the area, I took a gamble and tried the clinic nearest my house, which I later learned has recently been taken over by a relatively young, Davis-trained vet. Lucky gamble! Dr. Lewis was highly competent, professional, compassionate and took the time to discuss my dogs diagnosis and care options with me. His staff provided excellent, efficient, and thorough follow-up care. Prices are reasonable especially considering level of service available. Will be using Dr. Lewis from now on and recommend him highly!

My Muggy had a bad allergic reaction to a flea bite. We are new to the area so after reading the reviews I made an appointment with Dr. Lewis at Huntington Beach Pet Hospital. Dr. Lewis was great and put Muggy on a steroid routine that was not overly aggressive and accounted for her very small size. I have been to several vets and this one is definetly one of the best.

After having gone to the same vet for over 20 years then having him retire and leave his practice, Ive been looking for a new place to take my three cats for quite a while now. I tried a couple different ones, but they lacked the warm, comfortable environment that I had experienced for so many years. When one of my cats needed medical care, I decided to try Huntington Beach Pet Hospital, and Im so glad that I did. Dr. Lewis is really great and I felt that he genuinely cared about my cat, taking time with him to make him feel comfortable and taking time with me to explain what was going on and where we go from here. His entire staff went out of their way to explain everything and they, too, were extremely caring and helpful. Dr. Lewis called the next morning with the lab results and wants me to follow up in a few days to let him know how Boomer is doing. I will without a doubt be returning to Huntington Beach Pet Hospital. I think that weve finally found our new home!

Called and was able to get in same day and staff was great and had first time visit coupon so if get nail trimming then check up is free so pay 15.00 for trim and then save 45.00 on exam. Found no problem called next day see if had any questions and will be back. Was clean great location next to Petco

We rescued three dogs from the Downey shelter. Two pups and a 2 year old. All had typical but unexpected infections, etc. ALL of the staff here were responsive, helpful, took the time to explain things, and got the job done. Our adopted dogs went from sick and slow to upbeat and happy. Clearly the diagnoses were accurate because each dose of medicine showed super quick positive response from the dogs. Thank you to HB Pet Hospital for getting our new pets from sad to happy quickly and without any unnecessary costs.

Took my dog to Dr. Lewis for a 2nd opinion on a cyst plus my dogs allergies and itchiness, it turns out it was a bad ear infection that caused him to nearly scratch off the cyst! Were fixing up the infection, and his allergies plus getting the cyst removed. Thank you so much Dr. Lewis, if it wasnt for you, my poor little dude would be miserable.

We knew our baby had a problem and were not getting a satisfactory diagnosis and treatment from our Vets office, On a recommendation for Second Chance Pet Adoptions we went to see a new veterinarian who just taken over the office at Magnolia and Adams 6 months ago.Doctor Lewis is a U.C. Davis Graduate and has excellent bedside manners.First of all, thank you so much for saving our baby. The other Doctor didnt seem to know what was going on and just wanted us to spend money for more tests. Upon meeting him he really cared for Milo and examined him. He diagnosed a possible blockage in his digestive tract and explained the options in ENGLISH, not Doctorese. We felt that he had the situation under control and followed his recommended treatment for Milo. He and his staff handled Milo with such care and compassion that we have never had experienced at any other veterinary office.To give you an example of how well he and his staff treated Milo, when it can time to remove his staples, Milo was actually happy to go to Dr. Lewis office. With the other vets we have used he was always shaking and shivering because he was scared. Not with Doctor Lewis.Needless to say, we have a new Vet and will start bringing our other babies to see when the time comes. We whole heartedly recommend Huntington Beach Pet Hospital for all of your babies needs!

Dr. Lewis exceeded my expectations. Ive only been to him once, so far, but his entire staff and him seem truly excellent. Ive been searching for a competent, caring vet for 10 years. We found a great vet in the bay area, but we recently moved to OC.As someone who works in the healthcare field, I have high expectations. Dr. Lewis not only seemed very passionate and compassionate, but also was incredibly impressive with his lateral understanding of health and physiology (which youd think would be more standard, but it isnt).Its difficult to find a human doctor, but even more difficult to find a vet! Dr. Lewis is great, along with his staff. I almost dont want to write a review in order to keep scheduling appointments as easy as it has been, but I have to write one because our animals deserve the standards of healthcare that Ive experienced by Dr. Lewis and his staff.

OK people, settle in, because this is going to be a long one. They truly love animals and Dr Lewis has extensive knowledge in many different areas within his field. I transferred from HB Pet Vet because I just wasnt happy with the care or un-care I was receiving there. One thing people need to understand is, the cheapest vet is not always the best vet.So here is my story: I was very unhappy with my prior vet so I started researching vets online, I was willing to drive clear to LA, San Diego or Garden Grove (I live in Huntington Beach). I researched for 2 full days and made calls to the offices to chat with the staffs and get a feel for them, their care and their prices. I prefer holistic healing when possible. When I read the yelp reviews and google reviews for HB Pet Hospital specifically Dr Lewis I was beyond impressed so I wrote to him through yelp. Literally, within 29 seconds he responded. The second time I messaged him, he answered in the same amount of time or less maybe.He was very through concerning everything I had told him to the best of what he could be considering it was a yelp message. But he impressed me enough with the way he said what he said that I thought OK, Ill call the office and go from there. I called 2 different times and talked with Kelsey and then Amanda and was impressed further with their patience and time to chat with me about anything that I wanted to. They made me feel listened to and important. They truly cared for the pain and frustration my dog & I had been going through.So I had my appt today, the staff was wonderful and took their time with my dog who had been so traumatized by the last vet experience he shook like it was an earthquake. They let him warm up to them and gave him hyper allergenic treats. By the time we left there he was running around the office hanging out with them all. Heart-warming for me, considering how he was when he walked in.So we had an appt at 5:00 and we did not have to wait one minute past 5:00. They took us into a room and got all the info they needed. Prior to our visit, we had the former vet send over all our records and they had already reviewed them when I arrived for my appt. So Dr Lewis came in and greeted my Dog Muki Bear first (which I loved). We went over all his prior treatment and issues and concerns and the thing I love most about what he said was: Let me be perfectly honest and he was. He told me as thoroughly as I have ever had anyone speak to me about all my options, his opinion what I thought etc. Truly amazing experience.So here is my pups issues: 1) he has very bad environmental allergies. He gets itchy to the point he gets raw in places, his paws turn bright red and swell so bad they look like they are going to pop, his ears get very red and he has a tendency to have common UTIs. He was on Apoquel and it was managing all his symptom fine until he got a growth in-between his toes. Turns out it was a papilloma which is a virus. My last vet did surgery on it twice to try to remove it within 3 weeks. It was awful. Dr Lewis said he would have never done that. Its a virus and it could go away on its own. Since Apoquel is an immune inhibitor, we decided to take him off it until his immune system gets better. Dr Lewis put him on a super low dose of Prednisone which will act as an anti-inflammatory until his paw heels totally and we will take it from there.No over prescribing anything. He suggested some Zyrtec (NOT Zyrtec-D) if needed, that I can buy at the store myself, for excessive licking, chewing and scratching in the meantime.He called my old vets office a few times to get clarification on some of the previous treatment. He was so thorough and I was very impressed. I had no question left unanswered.Thank you so much for all your time and care for my Muki Bear. He is my fur baby and the center of our lives. Your office took such great care of us that I actually felt like dancing when I left. My boyfriend was so happy because he could see a huge weight had been lifted.I super duper highly recommend Dr Lewis

You will not find a more caring and professional veterinarian than Dr. Annemarie Hill. She has seen our Corgi, Tank, through regular checkups, teeth cleanings, and luxating patella repair on one leg and soon on the other. Recently, when we challenged OC Animal Control on their vicious dog classification for Tank (laughable, I know) she cooperated fully with our attorney (yes, we had to hire an attorney for our dog!) and took the time to give a thoughtful declaration. The staff at ACCHB are kind and professional and the office is clean and runs like a well-oiled machine. They also have a VIP card which, for an annual fee of $85 (2014) which includes 2 free teeth cleanings, a free exam and you 10% of what you spend is credited toward future visits.

I have to agree with other reviews that ACC of HB is difficult to work with on prices. They are expensive and will not work with you on reducing costs and they have a very weird thing that they tape record everything said in their office...which during my visit Dr. Hill noted several times that she was going to refer back to the tape recording. Is this a usual practice that a vet office tape records everything?The office is nice and located well in HB, the office staff does seem to be working hard to be efficient but my dissatisfaction comes with the treatment. While Dr. Hill seems to be compassionate to the animals, but close to two weeks after bringing my cat in, she wasnt any better...in fact getting worse. Since i had already paid $261 for the first visit PLUS another $85 for meds, I sought a second opinion at a lower cost clinic.Please note, that anywhere in the medical profession, doctors have different treatment plans so when the next vet said the antibiotic wasnt strong enough and so on, Im not blaming Dr. Hill because sometimes meds arent effective the first time but i was afraid of what i would be charged on a return visit.And when i went to return the just purchased bottles of antibiotics that we didnt need and asked for the $85 credit--there was no way. And, they charged me .35 for a syringe. Im not holding against Dr. HIll that her treatment didnt work, what i am disappointed in is they charge too much and if they can get .35 more--they will.I feel this group is just too expensive--though Dr. Hill says she drives a very simple car and isnt getting rich--its too much for me and to cure my cat it would have taken multiple visits at who knows what costs. I got her cured at another clinic for total...with meds, xrays, exam, two enemas, iv and fluid--$160--half the price of ACC of HB and shes getting better.As much as i love my animals, and hate to argue over pricing when my cat is so sick, i i feel like many vets take advantage of billing and there must be better options for lower cost quality care.
