Our cat Sedona failed quickly and after a couple of days, it because clear it was time to say goodbye to our precious boy. Today is Sunday so our regular vet is closed. I did a quick search and found Crossroads. From the minute Christina answered my call, I felt at ease. I asked her when we be a good time to come and her response was whenever you get here, we will be ready for you. I filled out some paperwork and within 5 minutes we were escorted to the comfort room with our boy until they could see us. We had about 15 minute wait and the tech came to put a catheter and told us what was next. She returned with him and the little heart below was on his arm covering the catheter. She told us to take as long as we needed and to turn on the light in the hall and the doctor would be there soon. As promised, Dr. Ortega entered the room and quietly introduced herself and expressed her condolences. She asked if our son wanted to hold him and he sat down on the sofa while we all gathered around. It was very peaceful and quick as we said goodbye. We could not have asked for a more kind experience. Thank you Crossroads!

Really nice staff. Unfortunately, my cat was too old too be saved but the vet gave me different options and I never felt pressured to spend more than I could afford. They were very caring and patient while we said goodbye to her. Cost was reasonable for a humane euthanasia.

If i could give this place a negative rating I would!!! It is the most unprofessional, cruel, unethical, unsympathetic and extortionist outfit I have ever encountered. To have to deal with this level of disregard and inhumane pressure tactics at a time of great vulnerability and sadness is unphantomable, especially when such tactics are piled upon a crying minor in the middle of the night as they desperately hold on to their sick pet. The receptionist was nothing more than a mechanical rattler of nonsensical price lists before the vet even walked in. Ms. Ortega who should never be a Vet was just as cold, rude and uncaring. She had no interest in anything besides making sure they excersised maximum pressure and terror over a crying child. Going so far as to threaten that they would report a felony if services were refused or the pet taken to another location. She made sure to repeat the threats but never made an attempt to relieve the suffering of the crying child or sick animal before her. What kind of human being is this, what kind of a clinic operates this way??? After terrorizing our family in the middle.of the night we were all left feeling helpless as well as physically and physiologically abused. This is a place of terror and death not life, sympathy and hope. The clinic should be closed down for gross negligence and severe malpractice by relevant authorities!!! If you love your pet and cherish your dignity, do not under any circumstances go there.

We brought our 2 year old dog Cooper into Crossroads the Sunday before Christmas. He was throwing up and had loose bowels. He could not wait till Tuesday. Everyone there was professional and nice. We waited a little bit but not long at all. We had to leave him overnight and he pranced off with the vet pretty as you please. When we picked him up the next morning he was much better. We had pills to give him. The price was reasonable, not like some others I have been to. Would definitely go back, hope I wont have to and Im already telling people with pets about the experience.

I am new to CA, and my dog became sick late at night. I immediately took her to Crossroads, and they were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The personnel is great - professional, caring, understand, and very helpful! They went above and beyond for me and my fur baby. The facilities are also modern and clean. If you are looking for a top notch emergency vet, this is it!

The staff needs to learn how to communicate with people who are grieving. I took my puppy in because she didnt have an appetite. Instead of properly explaining everything to me about what I was going to be charged for, I was presented with a number and a plan that the doctor came up with.I was told that I could either put her down or go with the plan. Shes just a puppy. Granted they told me I could go to another hospital and have a cheaper option but the doctor kept telling me that she wouldnt last long even if she went with the intensive care plan.I decided Id rather take my chances and took her home. I went home with the thought of her dying that day. When i took her to a different hospital, i got a different answer. First, the blood transfusion they told me here was necessary for her to survive. The second hospital, said that wouldve killed her because shes not even 9 weeks. I was told that she couldnt recieve fluids (that i asked for) because they need to know whats wrong first. Second hospital gave her fluids overnight and shes moving around just fine. Also at this hospital, they inserted an IV in her arm, second hospital said that would have caused more harm to her. It should be in her neck. The more that Im overlooking my puppys recovery the more angry I get about how they gave me the option of putting her down. The care they offered me was practically, how much can you pay? Whereas the second hospital was Were going to try to do as much as we can.Always get a second opinion. I cant imagine how I wouldve felt afterward, if i chose to put her down.

Yes, it is expensive to bring your animal here, but the staff provides excellent care. Ive had to take my animals to ER vets in the past and in different locations, but this is the first and only place that made sure I was fully informed of what was happening with my cat. I was told they would contact me in an hour with test results, and they followed through with that.We ultimately had to put our cat to sleep, but the vet was so kind and let us deal with it at our own pace (we didnt feel hurried or rushed in any way). While I hate the reason why we had to go here, Im thankful for the kindness and empathy we received regarding my cats condition.

I arrived home to a basset hound that looked like she had a pinch (of tobacco) between her lip and gum. She had an odd abscess not associated with a tooth.Took her to Crossroads, and Dr. Coe and the team took great care of her, even examined her and found some spots shed been licking. They shaved her and made me aware of it.I left with some antibiotics, my regular vet was notified, and Lu was thrilled to be back at home! The price was reasonable, too, given that it was an overnight emergency. If your pet needs a vet in the middle of the night, Crossroads gets my vote!UPDATE: 8/13/18 STILL WONDERFUL!!! Highly recommend.

We have gone to Crossroads a few times and had a few good experiences. However, today, we brought our dog in with a complaint that she was reacting strongly to her head and neck being touched. Over $1,000 later, they sent us home saying her x-ray and bloodwork was normal so they thought her prong collar had hurt her neck. Later today, we noticed some small open sores on the top of our dog’s head that Crossroads hadn’t noticed. I called to say that they had missed this and that I’d like to bring her back to have the sores looked at, but didn’t want to pay for another $75 exam fee (since I already paid over $1,000 in (probably unnecessary) fees). They refused and said it was a new doctor so I’d have to pay another fee. They then said we hadn’t told them about head pain, which was just false. I had really liked them before today, and I understand that people make mistakes, but I’m really upset that they charged me so much money and missed an obvious issue that my husband (not a vet) found just hours later. If they had said “bring your dog back in, we’ll work with you on the exam fee,” I would have been satisfied. Needless to say, I will be finding a new emergency vet.

I really screwed up & left half a large dark chocolate bar where my moms dog could get it. Got to Crossroads around 7:30 & even though they stop taking patients at 7am, they took Robert. The veterinarian & assistant could not have been nicer. Robert was examined & vomiting was induced. The vet wrote up a report on his condition & treatment and sent us to his regular vet. They saved his life & saved me from feeling like an asshole for the rest of my life.

We were kept informed and updated on our pets status. The hospital is clean, neat and well equipped.. We were taken to the kennel area, and again, it was neat and clean. The pricing was reasonable considering we were dealing with emergency services....we even got a refund.Again, if you have to use vet emergency services - consider Crossroads.

In the past 6 months I had to take 2 of my dogs, separate visits, different situations, for emergency treatment at the Crossroads emergency on Beach Blvd, HB. Both times my experience was beyond expectations. The personnel and doctors are wonderful and caring. The doctors have an abundance of knowledge and expend time explaining what was happening, the recommended treatment and all options available. My regular vet received fax the very next day with complete information on what was done. We are lucky to have a place like that to rely upon when needed. The doctors are also available for questions at any time we need.

DISGRACEFUL PEOPLE. THE ABSOLUTE WORST. My puppy got attacked, and they tried to get a min. of 2500.00 for surgery. I didnt have the money and they gave no option but euthanasia and then told me that was the humane thing (after suggesting I spend 2500.00). They had different people come at me with clipboards and information and would never give pricing info unless I specifically asked (more than once). Once it became clear I had to put the puppy down, they took my credit card for the 400.00 charge and left me in a room crying and listening to crying dogs. I had to get up and go look for someone to make them run my card and let me leave. They are all about money and dont care about animals or people. They are disgusting.

This is the most expensive place on earth. Took my dog in, she was in respiratory distress couldnt get any oxygen. By the time we walked into this crossroads the Benadryl I had given her had started to work, so she was doing a lot better then she was 20 minutes earlier. Just to take her to the back room $80 next they make you wait and wait then they put you into private room still your 4 legged friend is in the back, but your not allowed back there unless your the rich people in the room next to you there allowed into the back where youre not allowed. Next the vet comes in tells you he would like to do some tests, x-ray and blood hell send one of his techs in to tell you how much $990 do it because we really do love are dog. Vet returns and hour later, tell us the results blood good even great, x-ray shows an enlarged heart with a little water in the lungs. The heart we already knew that was enlarged the water in the lungs that is new and so they want to keep her tell 8am on oxygen with a lasix drip which is only 4 hours more price $2000 to $2300 dollars more. We ask for the take her home option which is a heart pill and a lasix injection price $490 more. There is a lot more to this story in a nutshell if you can take your friend to a different ER. Not because of the price but because of some of the stuff they did N didnt do. Like sending the medical records over to my vet which they didnt, or suggesting we euthanize are friend because we couldnt spend the 2000 to 2300 more FYI they charge 950 to euthanize. We didnt ask we where told. In the morning we took are friend to her regular vet he kept her on oxygen the whole day N gave her 25mg x 2 lasix he thinks it was most likely and allergic reaction to a bee sting she had the day before and not congestive heart failure like Crossroads kept on suggesting. She is home now and doing a lot better.

Worst place I’ve ever taken my dog and I will never come back and will be sure to warn people of the doctors, disrespectfulness and terrible service.DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE, take them to any other hospital- like the two VCAs in HB!

The day everyone dreads is the last day of their cherished family pet. That day came for us on the evening of November 16th. Our vet suggested that we take our 17 yr old cat, Jo to Crossroads. We were greeted with kindness and Jo was treated with dignity and respect. We were lead to a comfortable and quiet dimly lit room where we took care of the paperwork quickly & efficiently. We were told to take as much time as we wanted to say our goodbyes. I am thankful to Crossroads for a very peaceful passing. It was such a relief to see our Jo out of pain.
