Dave and John are the worst. Teresa is the best and I dont know how she deals with this two lazies! I rent frequently from here and because of Covid ongoing excuse in the world still, you have to wait longer then anticipated. You will have to wait we have no cars! There are 8 in the lot and its not even early morning.You try to be understanding, however when both Dave and John seem too busy sitting there and pretending to be busy! The only reason I have continued to come here is because of Teresa. Im surprised she is not the manager and the two laziest people like Dave and John are! #FAIL
We are gold star members. We rented a mini van for 4-6-21 through 4-8-2021. When we picked it up, Theresa told us that due to the billing cycle being 24 hours we would be able to drop the car off on 4-9-2021 at 9am. We got there and John comes out and looks in the car and goes back inside and says were getting charged a cleaning fee for $200 because we had an animal in the car. We DID NOT have an animal in the car, my 2 children had fuzzy blankets in the far back where they were sitting. There was nothing in the middle row or front row which if there was an animal, hair would be all over the car, not just in one spot. John then proceeds to tell us that we are getting charged a late fee because of when we brought the car back despite Thersea telling us thats when we can bring the car back. Then proceeded to say he was going to waive it as a favor to us.My husband then asked for the managers name and John refused to give the managers name or contact information. When we got the car it was not washed, the inside was already dirty and there was gum stuck inside the mirror the pulls down so you can see the backseat. We didnt make a stink about it because we arent that petty but the is the second time that we have rented from a hertz where we have gotten a filthy car and then we get hit with with cleaning fee.Be wary of this location. They seem to be hunting for ways to price gouge and nickel and dime you for everything to make an extra buck.****UPDATE****Upping my review to 3 stars after we received a call from the store manager wanting to speak with us about the survey we completed. Dave was very understanding and was incredibly helpful in getting the situation rectified and the money refunded. We are very pleased with his professionalism and sincere concern for righting his associates wrong.The hertz customer service call center is absolutely terrible. I called and was told a supervisor would call me back which they never did. Same uselessness from their social media team.
Refused to honor THEIR price guarantee. NEVER return call when requested and promised, The MANAGER HERE wont return a phone call. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE COVID SAFETY sticker as promised on their email offers and promises. WORST SERVICE Ive ever had from any company ever. As a top tier loyalty customer for decades i dont even get a return call.
Teresa and John were rude and condescending, both during pick up and drop off. They gave me a scratched up Corolla for a business rental and said that was the “newer, cleaner” one they had. Don’t expect to be treated with respect here.

As a gold member I’m absolutely surprised at how this location is still able to operate the fat guy sitting at the desk was useless.
I have been a Hertz good club member for many years. Never had I once had the service I had today!No professionalisms at all customer service non existence. This was not a rental for leisure. I was in a automobile accident insurance company sent for the rental and they refused to pick me up or drop off, The gentleman helping me was unpleasant to customers.This is not ok, this was very impressive to me this was the actual manager helping that showed lack of communication lack of customer service! COVID or not, no customer should be treated in a unprofessional way!

Awesome quick and friendly service picking up a rental car provided by insurance. When I returned it I left my garage door opener clipped to the sun visor. The representative noticed it and held it for me until I came back for it. You dont get this kind of service at the airport!
The location is small and hard to get in specially coming northbound on Beach Blvd. Luckily they gave me a ride from the shop I left my vehicle in so I didnt have a problem getting there. They were fast in checking me in and out without much hassle. I was in and out of there in less than 10 min.
We didnt realize that you had to show up within an hour of the time you chose, (which was stupid of us), but the guy at the counter was really nice and found us another car to rent that was equal to the one we had arranged for. We brought the car back with more gas than when we picked it up, and for that, the same guy knocked off a considerable amount of the miles we drove which brought the price of the rental down substantially. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs to rent a car!

They get the job done. This location, however, is a smaller store with a smaller selection, but they were very quick. The one major gripe I had was there was no 24hr drop box for rental car keys for after hours returns.
No hassle cuz I didn’t have a credit card (only debit). Friendly and convenient. Humans answer the phones too which is nice compared to the robot I spoke with at enterprise that turned me down because I don’t have a credit card.
Helpful in a hard time
Tried enterprise down the road from Hertz initially, and their services were...substandard. And that is being generous. Hertz on Beach Blvd more than made up for my bad experience with enterprise. Hertz set me up with a 2015 car easily and quickly. I was out the door in 15 or so minutes after walking through the door. and with a good price. if you are in Huntington Beach and need a car for a few days, go here.
Ive rented here a few times cause theyre right by my house and Im always in and out in 5 minutes or less. Also, theyre never pushy about all the extra daily costs and insurances. Definitely recommend.
Best rental experience Ive EVER had! In and out in 15 minutes. They are totally streamlined and easy to work with. Needed it an extra day and they easily added it on at a super low rate. I would never go anywhere else!
Dave and Jonathan were outstanding. I had a very poor experience getting my car from LAX. The LAX rep was horrible, I was not given the car promised that I reserved the night prior to arrival, and all the LAX manager did was tell me sorry and make it clear that they werent obligated to offer me any solution or compensation as they do not guarantee certain cars. I went and saw Dave and Jonathan at the Huntington Beach location in the area I was visiting and they were wonderful. Instead of preaching policy and making excuses for Hertz they took care of us as a customer and I have to believe that this is what Hertz corporate would expect at the location level. These guys understand the concept of true customer service and they absolutely salvaged my opinion of Hertz. I would recommend and rent a car from Dave and Jonathan at the Hertz Huntington Beach again and again.
Very awesome experience. Coming from Utah I was not familiar with Huntington beach obviously. The guy behind the counter was super nice, and upgraded our rental to a full size. Will come here from now on.The guys at enterprise car down the street were a bunch of bastards.
Smallest Hertz ive been in. It was nice and had friendly staff. For only $8 more I was able to rent a Dodge Charger. Very affordable prices.

For many years Hertz has given me courteous customer service from the booking agent to the return staff. The rental rates are always reasonably.
I have rented many cars from a variety of agencys. This rental was through insurance of the driver that hit me. This will be the first and last time I have a rental through Hertz. I had a reserved time and was slightly past the time I arranged to be there. My rental was not ready, I had to wait for it to be washed, and it took about 45 minutes for my already pre arranged rental. The most frustrating part of this experience is the car they put me in. While it is supposed to be comparable to my new durango, I was put in a 5 seat 4 runner with a gas mileage of 17 mpg. This is nothing similar to my car- I am thoroughly disappointed.

I needed an emergency rental for 10 days and got it here in minutes. The staff was great and very accommodating to my needs. They even waived some extra fees that would normally be applied.

We had a very wonderful experience with this particular Hertz, contrary to our horrible Hertz issue with the John Wayne Airport Herts Take our advice and do not rent at an airport. Different rules, rental prices and fees, not to mention burn out among employees The HB location was wonderful, professional but friendly, quick and very anceeasy to extend your rental with a quick call. Did you know though that after 62 days your rental is a lease! How about a little more disclosure when it is obvious a customer keeps on extending. We found out at day 61! Other than that everything was cool. Oh, buy their insurance It saved us from using our own with no deductibles paid or possible increases to our existing insurance. Sometimes being cheap is dangerous. Good luck!

THEY DONT BELIEVE IN HONORING RESERVATIONS, AND THEY DONT BELIEVE IN COSTUMER SERVICE. Joe the agent did nothing to rectify the situation. I wouldnt even give it a one star but I wanted to write a review. My experinece was terrible. I rented with hotwire prior to service date and when I arrived to pick up the rental I was told there were no vehicale availble yet there was a parking lot full of cars. My pickup time was 1130am. I was told by Joe, the rental agent, that I had to wait for other clinets who booked at later times than me to pickup their vehicales first. Now mind you the place was closing in 1hr and no one else was around and a car lot full of rentals. I dont understand if I book a car for an ealier time why should I have to wait till the 12pm rental guy shows up to pickup his vehicale when I am there now and also had booked a vehicle. I was told its because I booked through a different party. I then asked why they allow bookings through different parties because odviously they dont honor them. Well needless to say I left and went to enterprise without any booking got great service and left with a very nice brand new rental car within 15mins. So again save your time and dont go here they dont believe in honoring reservations and they dont believe in costumer service. Terrible experience.
