We came in (2015 Cadillac Escalade) with what we assumed (rather hoped) was a smaller repair only to find out we had multiple major engine issues. We got second opinions to verify and found that they were pretty spot on / fair on pricing. The service was great only wish it wouldn’t have taken them so long, but this also was probably due to being very busy. Overall Steve was very knowledgeable and helpful. Only rating 4 stars due to timelines not being communicated very clearly. Would definitely highly recommend and most likely will be returning again!

I go to Doctor J Automotive on a regular bgoasis to.have routine maintenance done on my 2005 Suburb Baja. Each time I go in I am met with a smile and a very enthusiastic greeting. Yes it happens to everyone, but I still feel special. On May 19th, I went in for my regular maintenance and an additional request, to replace a door handle which I had brought in. As with a lot of older vehicles, the replacement parts are not exacting. I talked to the installer and he showed me how the replacement would not work, but he came up with a brilliant idea. With my permission, he replaced the parts on the old door handle by taking them off the new one and had to spend hours in the process, but was able to get it done, and then instead of getting a huge bill for the time, I was presented with a fixed door handle and a much smaller bill than anticipated. I am so excited to have all of them at Doctors J on my team.

They did what I asked, but problem remained. They did a thorough diagnostic, but came down to dirty parts that were overlooked to make it better. I had to figure it out for myself.

Paid for both front and rear brakes when they couldnt find which caused vibration and squeaking. Now less than 20K miles later front brakes squeaking again. Checked my self and found one of front pad clips were bent in rubbing the rotor causing squeaking. This was either a rookie mistake or done to cause squeaking before the pad wear tab hits rotor. Either way I wouldnt recommend.

Scott and Kevin were wonderful to speak with straight forward no BS and I appreciate and respect that... the service was excellent, on my late 90s camero. Definitely bringing a couple different cars by as well.

Just listen to their conversations and you can tell you are in a great shop. They are upfront and fair with pricing and never try to up sell or pressure you but will let you know of any potential issues to save you trouble and $ down the road. They give good advice if you ask and will answer any questions. No shady, fly-by-night auto shop here, but only quality, professional, trusted work and team.

A spotless shop with reliable mechanics specializing in Jaguar and other high end vehicles.I called because I needed a replacement chip key when the only key was lost. They could not help this time and said only the dealer could do this. NB Jaguar quoted almost $900 plus towing the car in.I then called Mike Saad at BMB Rhinetrade who recommended Eric from California Locksmith . Eric met me the next morning. Within an hour he was able to open the locked car, then cut and program 2 keys - all for the bargain price of $300!

This last repair took a while, but completely understood the situation. Electrical work on a 30 year old car for a part that is no longer manufactured, and the only supplier who works on them is in the East coast. As someone in the construction industry, i know how some suppliers can get sometimes. Regardless, the Doctor J team still continued to provide great service & made all efforts possible to get my car up and running in top shape.

My repair consisted of a emergency brake repair. The phone etiquette was top notch and made my decision on what and how to repair the vehicle easy. Went to Dr. J for the first time for routine service. I had a few things that needed to be addressed. Tires/Alignment/Oil Change etc. They also discovered a bad wheel bearing that I had them replace. The car drives so much better, handles better and is QUIET. I will return here and take my other car too. Honest people that keep you informed.

Ive been taking my cars to Kevin, and before that, to his father for over 15 years. The most recent visit was to inspect/service a newly purchased used vehicle. As always they were thorough, professional, and honest. They identified current needs, educated me on what is likely to need servicing soon, and did all of the required services due with no fuss. This was my first experience with someone else working on my ZO6 Vette. As I get older I rather have someone else do the work. I knew there was a problem with the belts, tensioner and pulleys. This shop though not the cheapest gave me great confidence. The mechanic(wish I knew his name to give him props)was on the ball and knew what was up. They showed me all the worn parts. If youre thinking of taking your car here for repair you might want to consider going elsewhere as they seem very particular about who they want as customers... they do not want people who want to see the car problem with their own eyes, but rather those who merely trust and believe their word. If you want to see your car problem they act annoyed. The one brother seems nice enough, but not the other brother. They also seem to be in collusion with the transmission shop next door

I took my Range Rover in for the 30k check up. Dr Js did all of the same work the dealer quoted but at 60% of the price. Also found a few other little things and handled. In October 2017, the car went in for routine maintenance and the replacing of hood shocks. Again, the work was performed as discussed. Excellent all around! I can’t say enough about Doctor J. From the point I brought my Lexus in for some desperately needed brakes, to the diagnostics, and to the time it was ready to pick up that same day, their service was impeccable. They took care of all 4 brake pads and rotors for MUCH less than the dealership. And having driven my car for several months now, since the service, all I can say is that the braking response has improved, not one of my brakes squeak, and braking is still smooth; it’s no question that they used quality parts in their work. Would I recommend them to anyone else? ABSOLUTELY!!!

They charged me $130 just to look at my car and did not specify that it was going to be that much just to look at it without any repair. All they did was tell me the same s*** that I had already told them what was wrong with it. They had my car for 2 days, did not even fix anything.

I highly recommend Doctor J. Automotive. I have been taking my car there for years. Excellent mechanics plus Kevin and everyone there goes out of their way to be helpful. I have only had great experiences with Dr. J. I would never take my car anywhere else.

Took in a car that needed a lot of work and I asked them to tell me what had to be done to make safe to drive. They did that and gave me an estimate about $1,300. I told them to go ahead and when they called me a few days later they had run up a bill just touch above $3,100. The referral I had to them was so good I took their word when they told me the car was now safe and would run for another 30k. They told me that had checked out everything. Two weeks later it died in traffic when the timing belt shredded. Apparently they never checked that although they said they did. So I had another expense and the fun of blocking traffic on the boulevard and pushing the thing out of the way by myself and calling a tow. A mobile mechanic got it put right at a reasonable rate but I would rather it was done in the first place. I think they took advantage of a customer who is not a mechanic to run up a bill and I dont have confidence that they actually did the work they claimed. I wouldnt trust them again.

Brought a 2 owner 85 cressida w 95k original miles to be checked out byDR.J j to see if it was a good car.It has a rough idle and stalls sometimes. After leaving it overnight, called back to see if they diagnosed the issue.Instead they said it would need further diagnosis and they wrote page of negative things they found needing on a 40 year old classic toyota.Amazing since the day before i asked them to please be kind and no car is perfect, and that I had inquired on cressida forums that issue maybe the IAC valve.Instead they said the new prospective owner wanted a evaluation of the entire car as a whole.The toyota cressida was probably the most relaibale and Best car made from them in 1985.i wish they diagnosed issue with the rough idle as asked, and pre asked day before.Even though the cars not perfect hes still looking out for his customer first.Which is rare to find.Bryan
