I was about to send my parents VHS wedding video to be repaired in Washington when my girlfriend told me about this place. Not only was my parents wedding video fully restored but i also paid a small fraction of what i would have paid if i had sent my VHS tape to the hot shots up in Washington.I told the owner that he could easily charge more and he told me that he could but he is not in it for the money. You can tell Scott has a passion for what he does and he enjoys making people’s memories come back to life.Scott also restored my old mini DV tapes and he did a wonderful job. The videos are great quality and the sound is amazing. If you don’t read the whole review, let me start off by saying Scott was very professional and patient with every phone call and request. This place will surprise you. The establishment may not look great from the outside so do not let that fool you. Scott did an amazing job on some VHS s of mine from the late 80s and in two of those I was not expected for him to be able to transfer but he seems to works miracles. EXCELLENT QUALITY- SUPER PLEASED. As an amateur photographer/videographer I do know quality when I see it. I was told that Video Tape Copy would use a cool light LED professional transfer system and that they would correct colors, tones, brightness, etc.. I did not believe that a 60 year 8 mm dried up and damaged tape could be salvaged much less look great. I was so happy with the results, I called Scott and thanked him. In the past, I made many copies of the old tapes using my own tapes, cameras, equipment and they pale in comparison with the quality produced by Video Tape Copy. Dont scrimp on quality. I couldnt have found a better place to have my films and tapes dating back to the early 60s saved for future viewing. Scott and his wife went out of their way to make sure all of my collection was picked up, copied and returned to me with door-to-door service in this quarantine time. By starting with saying Video Tape Copy is the best video tape transfer company, which it is, to Scott being the absolute nicest man you will ever meet!Copying my family videos to a simple flash (thumb) drive was the best project I have ever done and by far the best Christmas gift I ever gave my children. I had VHS tapes beginning in 1982 when my youngest was born. I had wanted to do this since the DVD days and I am actually glad I waited. These VHS tapes would have required 55 DVDs to be changed out constantly during viewing. In todays time, Scott was able to take all 66 VHS tapes, review each one to find out that 20 were blank or recorded TV shows, and did not even charge for doing that work. That left 46 family tapes that needed to be transferred. Scott reviewed them, sorted them in chronological order, cut excess blank footage from the beginning or the end, and copied all 46 tapes, in order, as files to one flash drive. He even NAMED the individual files with something identified from the tape and dated them by year. I was blown away.When I picked up the flash drives, Scott showed me exactly how to load and go through the files, and copy to my hard drive, or another flash drive. I had Scott make four flash drives all the same for me and each child. He actually only charged me for what he paid for each additional drive hardware. So more evidence that he is the nicest, most knowledgeable and experienced tape copier with the best equipment who takes the time to care about the work he does and all at a very affordable price.These memories, preserved in such a convenient and long lasting way, are so precious to me and my three children. They now have forever memories of the good childhood they had and the fun times we had as a family. That makes this gift so valuable and it makes me so grateful for have found Scott and Video Tape Copy. I have never found a business that did better work or an owner that cared more.

I am a retired veteran of the consumer electronics industry, having worked therein for decades, with over thirty years employed by a multinational manufacturer based in Tokyo. I mention this only as reference, so that you might understand that I might, possibly, know what Im speaking of in this review.I recently had Video Tape Copy (Houston, TX) transfer to digital files, about an hour and a half of footage that my German grandfather had taken of our family from the late 1950s through the early 1970s. Considering that the longest film that an 8mm camera could hold was just over 3 minutes running time, thats quite a bit of footage. Reels and reels and reels. My footage to be transferred included both 8mm and Super 8 formats, most of which having gone unseen for nearly 60 years.The “care and craft” applied by the Video Tape Copy staff to transferring my familys precious memories into a form that anyone can watch at any time was beyond my grandfathers comprehension… and was extraordinarily well done. Appropriate period correct soundtrack selections were expertly applied, with scene transitions, dissolves, fades to black, all perfectly timed and executed. It was so way, way, way, WAY beyond what I expected that I was literally overwhelmed. And so was the whole family. Yes. That good. It was perfect. Nothing less than that.In fact, I was so gobsmacked, by the care and attention that was applied to the transferring my films to digital files, editing, post production, etc, that I am and will remain forever grateful for your beyond expectations application of efforts. You represent the kind of folks that discriminating folks can wholeheartedly recommend when one cares about (and hopes for) people doing business who will care to do their best in providing great results for a highly personal and meaningful project. Video Tape Copy is THE place to go for digitizing film and tape. On my first trip to the store, I took Scott a 35-year-old VHS tape that was literally deteriorating into shreds. He was caring and kind, and he understood how important those old home movies were to me. I knew that Scott would be putting his equipment at risk in an effort to recover those memories, but he assured me that he was up to the task. And, he was! Scott worked his magic, and I was extremely happy with the result.Since then, Scott has digitized numerous VHS tapes, rolls of Super 8mm film with sound, and lots of regular 8mm film dating back to the 1950s. He has a commitment to excellence, which is evident in his work. Scott has made copies of a wedding I filmed for a client and delivered to them via DVD. A year after they received the DVD, they wanted additional copies. Per my agreement, most projects are not archived after a year. Luckily, Scott was able to make multiple copies for me from the clients original DVD. He has also transferred VHS tapes to .MP4 format for me as well that I use for music video clients seeking an analog look. Would highly recommend going here for all media transfer needs. Prices are reasonable and turnaround is more than acceptable. Will be returning here

I had several 8mm film reels that I wanted transferred to DVD. These were very old grandparents movies. I was very fearful of letting them out of my sight, but since they were local I decided to try it. I cannot believe how great the DVD turned out. I had no idea what it would end up like. He even put music to the movies, placed them all in order & made the music match the years.All of my family absolutely loved the DVD. Many tears, many laughs & lots of wonderful memories.They did an excellent job and took great care of those delicate films.If you are in need of this type of service I highly recommend them and the price was very reasonable as well. Finding this company was a god send. You need look no further. This is the best.I visited and called other places in town before I found Video Tape Copy. Most were much more expensive, but because these were my valuable family movies, I wasnt going to choose the service based on price alone.I had about 100 family tapes from 1991 til now. Obviously, these tapes are the most valuable things we have, along with our photos. They were home movies of our family and our six children growing up. I did my research and due diligence before I decided to turn my tapes over to Mr. Scott.His prices were extremely competitive. But again, I did not choose him based on price alone. (He did have the best price for my big job, though.)By the way, Mr. Scott and his family own and run this business. He is absolutely the nicest man! He does all the transfers himself. Video transfer is not a set it and forget it job. It requires experience, knowing everything that can go wrong, and knowing how to prevent it. Its not a job for a newbie. It requires expertise and experience, and that is exactly what Mr. Scott has. He has been doing this for years.After talking with Mr. Scott, I had no qualms about leaving all 100+ precious home movies with him. And I was thrilled when the job was done. It could not have been better. He did not charge me for blank tapes. He monitored every transfer to make sure it was done right.I even drove from the other side of Houston because I felt his expertise, his quality commercial equipment, and the fact that he did the work personally was what my tapes deserved. No matter where you live, I would recommend using Mr. Scott.I might add that after doing my research and talking to people, I would advise you not to send your tapes to a nationally advertised service. There are ads on the radio for video tape transfer, but I warn you against using them. I also warn you not to use a service through a drug store or discount store. Tapes have been lost using these services, they do not personally monitor each transfer, and you have no idea who is handling your tapes.Mr. Scott put all our movies on one terabyte flash drive. He put them in chronological order (we did not have them organized at all.) He showed me exactly how to copy the the entire file, or individual files, and copy them to another flash drive, or to my hard drive. I will be making copies for each of my six adult children. They have only seen a few of these movies of when they were silly kids, and they loved them, so I know they will love having all of them on one flash drive!I am so blessed that I found this business, and grateful to Mr. Scott for properly preserving my family memories.

I am very happy with the service at Video Tape Copy. I had about 25 8mm, VHSC, and VHS tapes that I wanted transferred over to digital. I did not want to send them off to some big company from the internet in fear that I may not get them back. After reading the other reviews listed here, I went in and talked to Scott. He is a super nice and trustworthy guy. I left the tapes with him and he texted me when they were ready. There was no charge for the blank tapes that were in my box, and there was another tape that was just TV footage. He found them and did not charge me for them.
