This place is amazing and the staff is so helpful, and playful you know these dogs are being well taken care of b4 they go to their forever home. And the benefits that come with each dog is priceless. The process was quick & easy, Holly will get a playmate from Pet City once she gets a little older. ***** stars all the way. We were looking to getting a puppy for our family. We had just visited a local shelterbut weren’t able to find a pup/dog. I found Pet City through google and read some reviews and thought we would give this place a shot. We came in and Maria had greeted us and we saw a pup we were interested in and i request to mingle with the pup privately. Maria answered my many questions wonderfully and was so knowledgeable! I found that incredible and a true asset and value to this store. My husband and I fell in love with the pup. My son took to pup so well and it was thanks to Maria for being patient and answering his questions and teaching him how to handle the pup. If it wasn’t for her, we probably would of not considered coming back. (Trust me, I had tons of questions, even after I did my research on that specific breed.) The other staff were friendly, helpful and super nice as well. We had an awesome experience at this store thanks to Maria.

All staff are very nice and very professional. The process was quick and easy. The process was also very safe due to COVID situations, staffers wearing mask and hand sanitizer located near petters.. My mom was amazed to see all the animals that she had never seen before. She had never seen a hedgehog, ferret, parakeet or tarantula before and they had them all. So cool to see this store in person.

This is my third time buying a Shih Tzu from Pet City. I trust this place over the other places like Pet Land. Quaterius was my salesperson and he was very knowledgeable and kind throughout the buying process. He showed me two female Shih Tzus and I purchased one with a blue eye (super cute). The pricing is expensive (over $3400) but you leave with a crate (and a ton of accessories including an engraved pet tag), microchip, and local vet care is provided within four days. I would suggest taking your puppy to get an exam just to be sure they are healthy. The pup is AKC / ACA registered and youll have documentation of the sire and dam. Youll also receive shot records and feeding times.

Pet City is an amazing Pet Store! One of the few who still sell pets on location. The people were so helpful to us, and compassionate to the animals. A truly positive experience. We adopted a furry baby, and Madelaine made the process swift and painless. She was so knowledgeable and a complete angel. She set us up with enough supplies for quite a while and gave us a full history of our new family member. It was perfect. Thank you.

Cutest little puppies I have ever seen. They have every pet you can imagine. We saw ferrets, parakeets, guinea pigs, fish, spiders, snakes lol. I can see why they have been in Houston for so long. Everything was nice, clean, and the animals were well taken care of.

*CHECK YOUR RECEIPT*A simple mistake by the cashier was made when I asked for a price check on a item when checking out and though I told her I didnt want it and even offered to put it back where I got it, the store wouldnt give a refund. A gift card really is not an acceptable solution. Ive had good experiences so far(Ive purchased our snake here and feeder mice) but this should have been a simple reversing of the charge cause its not even a refund.

This place was fun it actually was like we was at the zoo!! that’s what I can relate this place to!! everybody was so informational they helped us with all the questions we had we wanted to get to know the pet before we bought it and they were able to take the pet out and let us bond with the pet before we made a decision.

Absolutely terrible. DONT GO HERE. Purchase a $6000 Frenchie and she’s sick in less than 24 hours. I end up at an er with a $500 vet bill and of course that’s not covered under their warranty 😡 it was a bacterial infection in her stomach that in retrospect I know she had before we got her.They are no help once you leave with whatever animal you purchase. DO NOT RECOMMEND

This place is ghetto. The workers there were trying to sell my husband and I tropical fish. If it wasnt for a customer explaining how the tank supposed to be before we get the fish, the fish would have died the minute they hit the water! Those fish were not CHEAP.

Store is ok. Reptiles are a little overpriced but they seem to be doing good selling dogs. Employees are mostly younger and dont know much so do your own research before going in.

We surprised our daughter with a trip to Pet City Houston for her birthday and this is the puppy we ended up with. It was an easy process overall. My daughter was able to play with several puppies before deciding. We also received this puppy package take home kit that included everything we needed for a puppy. Heather went over the contract, AKC papers, shot record, etc with us and now we are new puppy owners.Updated: Vet says she is perfect.

I had an appointment yesterday on 03/21to adopt a puppy I saw on their website my mom and I brought our two dogs so they are able to meet and greet as well. Heather is the person who helped us ! Heather was super patient and very educated in all of questions we had about our new baby. Overall the entire visit was outstanding. All of the puppies look like they are well taken care of everyday. I will be coming back in the future.

When we bought our Pomsky 6 months ago it was a very easy process. I called to get details on the puppy, they told me everything I needed to know before I even left my house. The process was really easy and convenient. Cant wait to you all release your Halloween costumes so we can dress her up this year.

Great experience first time shopper here for my pet beardie. They had the feeders I needed, the lamp bulb and beeding i needed. Plus they gave me other ideas to feed him. Again great experience and nice to help out a small business.

Pet City is a medium sized pet store with a decent variety of animals and supplies, at a modest price. It doesnt have the huge variety and stock of the major retailers, but thats too be expected with a relatively smaller store. The staff are helpful and polite, the shop is clean, and the prices are fair. Nothing in particular stands out about this shop.

I’ve been here a few times. They are very friendly and have someone answer any questions about new pets or pets you already own. They let you interact with almost every animal in there. I got to pet everything except the crabs 🦀 😂. They were scared to pick those up. But everything else someone had knowledge on and wasn’t afraid to pick it up. I love this pet shop. They actually tend to every customer as their most valued customer. I recommend to all my friends

When researching different dog breeds, I fell in love with the Cavachon breed, and I came across Pet City Houston as they were the only local place that had them. I got my fur baby, Lola on Memorial weekend and it has been the best decision I’ve made. She is a vibrant, healthy, intelligent, and loving puppy- now 9 months old. Just bought a yorki puppy last night for my 8 years old daughter. We get home and puppy is not play full at all, have a hard time breathing I took him to vet this morning and she indicated puppy has a respiratory issue, need to return him ASAP and it’s very clear to any other vet that this dog Have issues . They recommend me to go back and return the puppy, she provided that on the written note for me to take back . The lady indicate at pet city Houston at the front if there is anything wrong with the puppy within 4 days that we didn’t caused we can take him back OR EXCHNAGE. However today coming to find out is only exchange which made me very unhappy because they shouldn’t sell you a puppy for 4000 if it has health issues. I had no option but getting the other yorki tht was there and this one already throw up 3 times since we got home and not playful like the other one . Before I left the lady mentioned there will be no exchange if something is wrong with him and I only could exchange 1 time I have an appointment for Wednesday but if something is wrong with the puppy I honestly don’t know what to do. This is not a right policy you have scamming people and getting their money and not understanding the fact that your puppy is not healthy is not the customers fault and you should take full responsibility of this matter . If this puppy turn out to be sick as well I will contact my Lawer to get my money back regardless of your policy you shouldn’t be selling sick dogs .

Went there about a week ago.I bought my puppy Brownie from them.Great from the beginning. Helped out immediately and answered all questions. Smooth process, clean store. Everything looked great.

It has so many puppies in the store, but the cage is way too small for those puppies, there is no space for them to play, the only thing they can do is watching people passing by and sleeping. Also the price of items is kind of high. Went to there once and don’t think will come back.

I recently purchased a puppy from Pet City and I cant say enough good things about my experience. This is AFTER what could have been a horrible experience as my puppy got very sick after bringing home. And I dont really advise using the vet referred take your puppy to your vet if you have one. So this review could be a zero star but Jerome at Pet City was AWESOME during this experience. He called and checked on my puppy with sincerity. Pet City went ABOVE what was ever expected. They did what was the right thing to do even tho legally they didnt have to there is a contract I signed and agreed to. I didnt have to call, ask, nothing it was a stress less process with them. I HIGHLY recommend them if that is the avenue you are going for a puppy. I am happy to say my puppy is now home and doing well. Thank you Jerome and everyone at Pet City.

I purchased my frenchie on March 30th, 2021 for over $8,600. I took her to sunset animal hospital on April 3rd and she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. I called pet city and they told me to bring her back to the store. An employee there told me the puppy didnt have pneumonia and that vets usually over exaggerate to get money out of you. They sent me home with the puppy and 3 doses of medication. That night her condition became increasingly severe and she could barely breathe by the morning. I then called pet city on Easter Sunday. Jerome from the solutions team told me to take her to the emergency room and that I would be reimbursed since the store was closed that day. I took her to gulf coast veterinarian specialists and they also confirmed that she had severe pneumonia and was in critical condition. The next day, (after $2,968.64 worth of medical treatment) I called pet city and they said they were going to call the owner and call me back. I ended up having to drive all the way back to the store in person since I never got a call back. Then they told me to go and get her and bring her back to the store and they kept her this time. I was then told they were not going to reimburse me like I was told. Today I gave them one last chance to make it right saying I would even be happy with store credit but it doesnt seem like they care. I do not recommend doing business here.

First and last time visiting this place. The cages way to small for starters had some puppys laying and playing in there own feces. The puppy I was looking at smelled horrible. This really brakes my heart I did take pictures incase the owner decides to say not true

Reptiles stores are hard to find, especially the ones that know what they are talking about in regards to reptiles. This store has trained staff and their reptiles always look healthy and friendly. Here is our little guy, our first of several.

Our precious baby Yorkie is from here and she is the best thing ever! A friend recommended me here because they have 3 dogs from here so I knew it was someone i could trust. She is healthy, active and was so easy to potty train.

*Over the week we took our daughter to her to pick out her first pet. She picked out these two bunnies because they reminded her of a book she reads on bunnies. The staff let us pet them and educated her on everything she needed to do to care for these two bunnies. Here are the ones that she picked, I attached them below. 💥💥💥💥💥 5 stars. This location has the most abominable customer service. The staff is hugely incompetent and doesn’t appear to know much of anything about the pets or products they sale. Not to mention, there’s a very odd smell in the store. It’s obvious, the staff is just there to collect a check.

Bought a dog. Dog died of pneumonia within 4 weeks of purchase. Went to store with proof of events. The manager did not bother to look at papers and replied to my circumstances with: you are SOL, your problem not ours. Then he was kind enough to say have a good day. (Not word for word, but that was the bottom line so to speak.) Stay away from this place. Sure you may find a healthy wonderful pet here.... but oncenvthey have ur money they feel no need to work toward costumer happiness. $4500 down the pet lemon drain.

Lyric is very knowledgeable in the fish dept. She was able to test my water and tell me what I needed to get my fish healthy again. . I have been to other large pet stores around town and you can never find help there but Lyric was on spot. She helped me with everything and now we have an amazing set up. .

The cages that had puppies in them were way to small and had roaches as well as feces in them, not clean at all. The puppies did not look like they were in good health. While I was there a women came in and also stated she bought a dog from them and had to take it to the vet a few days later and it ended up having pneumonia, based on the reviews I’ve read that’s not the first time a dog they sold had severe pneumonia. Please don’t buy dogs from there backyard breeders.

I own several reptiles of my own so I enjoy going to your store to see all your newest reptiles you all have available for sell. A nice variety to look at and hold. Ive already got my eye set on my next pet from you all, I just need to set up the enclosure first.

I reached out to Pet City over FB messenger and they promptly responded. While they didnt have what I was looking for at the time (ferrets), they advised of upcoming deliveries and even notified me when they arrived. They offered to send pictures over messenger and once in the store they were helpful and knowledgeable even with a very busy store. Fantastic experience overall.

Myra our Morkie puppy is from this store off 1960. She was well cared for, we received all her papers, a warranty, and a puppy gift package. We took her to our vet the next day for a wellness check and she is perfect. It took us a couple hours to decide but that didnt bother to them because you could see they cared about their puppies going to deserving homes. For those that are against pet stores thats fine, get a hobby and go to shelter because no one cares what you think lol

You leave a public review that is anything but good and the owners threaten to report to police lol. How unprofessional if you cant take criticism of someones opinion. Subpar animal care and conditions. Do better, dont just try to cover things up. No way to run a business. Wouldve added to my original comment but unfortunately it wouldnt allow me to edit.

The employees are not trained. We bought two bunnies as per employee they were dutch bunnies, dutch bunnies dont grow but with in few months they grew big...we also asked if they will take it back we ask them once when we bought it and second time i again ask and they said yes bring it in will check them and will take it... now coz they are big we cannot keep them they are not ready to take it!!

Nice staff. My daughter found a kitten all alone behind our house with no min insight. We went to Pet City Houston and they showed us the powder milk and bottle we needed to help this little kitten. She is doing well and very playful.(Clean store, cute as can be puppies and the fish looked nice).!

Extremely rude staff, the manager was rude as well and kept cutting us off when we were trying to explain a situation to him. after the manager was done with us, he stared me in my eye and started saying disgusting things about me and my family to the other employees. i was prepared to purchase a dog but after the customer service i decided this wasn’t the place for me. if they treat humans like that, imagine how they treat the animals. they have signs posted at their business and it’s been the consensus that children under 10 do not have to wear a mask. my nephew who is asthmatic was running back and forth playing with a dog and when he stopped he coughed a couple of times, because he has asthma, that’s what happens. we gave him his asthma pump and he was fine. we were more than 6 feet away from everyone and both adults in our group were wearing masks. we are NOT anti maskers, we believe the masks are extremely important and completely agree with it. but the rule is that under 10 they don’t have to wear a mask. an employee came up to us and said my 7 year old nephew HAD to put a mask on, in which we responded with the fact that he’s 7 and he’s not required to, then he became rude and we then went to speak to a “manager”, who was even ruder.

My kids got to hold a ferret, a bunny and some puppies. My kids even got some education about the ferrets on how they sleep a lot and what snacks they enjoy. My son liked this one that he named Sleepy but we didnt want to wake him lol. Neat store Id have to say.

I called about a female mini schnauzer. The lady over the phone wasnt knowledged on the difference between teacup, toy and mini schnauzer. When I walked inside the associate took very good care of me!!!! The amount I paid was well worth Athena!!! And best of all I didnt have to wait to have the dog shipped or until they turn 2 months from online breeders. Unlike if I chose to buy from a breeder I didnt know, I felt like it would have been a scam. So to pay $3k for my dog and go home eased my mind! They made sure she was up to date on shots and you have 4 days to get your dog vet checked. I decided to keep the vet they used and they are WONDERFUL! Again other breeders dont offer a guarantee like that or a refund if something is wrong with the dog. You get a huge crate of goodies and papers and she was microchipped, thats something you wouldnt get from an online breeder. The breeders I researched only sold them as pets no papers! For what youre paying, you should get papers! I searched alot of online breeders and none offered what Pet City offered but they wanted more money. Athena is an investment (spoiled rotten)so to have everything be included was a great deal. You would have paid more out of pocket for the goodie crate. I did pay an additional $384 for some other registration (optional) Definitely recommend. I will be back to buy another one!!!

These people are liars and frauds, 3000 dollars for a dog will easily double to 6000 because hidden interest in the fine lines on the electronic document. Actually, do not buy a dog from stores, find an ethical breeder if youre searching for a specific dog.

Do not purchase bunnies from here. They comeWith ear mites and owner doesn’t take any responsibility or even mention this can be an issue to be on the look out for. After multiple vet visits and bills, constant cleaning, still trying to get rid of the mites on the poor baby bunny.

Update: Aside from the physical building perspective, the new owners seem to truly care about their business. Definitely still worth visiting the store for the adorable animals.☆☆☆ because they are extremely over priced on a lot of things. 25$ for a cheap dog vest/collar and 20$ for a simple collar. Dog pricing varies as expected. Service personnel are helpful and friendly. By the looks of it the animals are clean and well taken care of (corgi was well fed and heavy for 2mo). Happy to know the dogs have their first round of shots.

Bearded dragons are very exciting to watch just sit and chill. My son was just going nuts when he was able to watch them eat during feeding time.
