OnsetOn Tuesday of 08/27/2013, I went for my Post ACL Surgery 6 Months re-evaluation and my surgeon prescribed an ACL Functional Knee Brace. I came home, called TMC Orthopedic, inquired for appointment availability and the number of days I will have to wait before receiving a custom made DonJoy Defiance Functional Knee Brace. I was told 5 days, so I agreed to a Thursday 08/29/2013 appointment and post the measurement appointment, I asked the employees at the 1000 South Loop West location about the turnaround from manufacture to delivery and they confirmed in concert 5 days (minus one day for the holiday).IssueToday is Thursday 09/05/2013; I have called TMC yesterday and today – roughly three times. They have no information on the whereabouts of my order. They don’t know if it’s being manufactured and when it will be delivered or made available for me to pick up. The only information I can get from their rep is that the other has been placed.OpinionPersonally, believe that this is a bait and switch tactics used by TMC to lure in a potential customer, while knowing that their order will actually take longer to complete the manufacturing and delivering of the product (in this case – Functional ACL Knee Brace). Had they been frank with me, I would’ve spent more time to find someone else who will has a faster turnaround time or get fitted for Over The Counter product. Who knows how many customers have been tricked into coming into their business locations for equipment under false pretense.
